  3. Well, considering I mostly play CVs there... I haven't noticed any uncanny accuracy by other players tbh, but then again I'm mostly low tiers with surface ships still so I'm not entirely sure. Premium shop is certainly better than it is here tho. You can buy everything without a bloated bundle and it's way cheaper. Like WAY cheaper. Problem is you need a Chinese bank account so that's not exactly an option for most of you I guess.

I don't think I'm allowed to divulge those here as it's technically speaking illegal but meh, you can just watch the YouTube tutorial on how to do it.

  6. Overall I'd have to say no. Playing more on the CN server than I do on EU nowadays. Funny how a previous version of the game is more enjoyable than its current iteration at least for me. Might be because of RTS CVs, might be because massive powercreep isn't there, might be because the majority of players consist of bots so the playing standard is much higher than on EU. Or just a combination of all.

    There are reasons as to why they're going for subs now. There are no reasons to reimplement Kitakami. Or rather no reasons that'd matter to WG.

    Obviously. Can't say my experience in Uni is comparable to yours tho. That sounds rough. I wouldn't expect such a level of commitment to a game, but knowing basic stuff such as the difference between HE and AP shells and when to use them neither requires that nor is it asking too much imo.

    Still means a game can impart knowledge on its mechanics to you. Forcefully too. The only downside is that you're probably going to lose a couple of players here as they don't want to go through a mandatory tutorial, but it still works. Likewise if you make a tutorial optional there likely won't be too many that will use it. Doesn't mean however that tutorials can't teach you about game mechanics which is the original point. Well , you mean all the lectures I had to sit through wasn't to teach me something? I knew it, they wanted to make me wake early for those only to me off!

    Yes I can, because the application and thus usefulness of said knowledge was never in question in the first place. The general statement was along the lines of "teaching doesn't work", not "the knowledge a game would impart if it did teach it is useful irl".

    Just because it is unique doesn't mean it is fun nor effective nor balanced. Yeah, no. Kita torps are the same as Mogami/Atago ones and neither is her concealment much better. This is a very viable comparison. Mogami/Atago are practically Kitakami with guns, she does not represent some kind of different design leap. There are reasons she was removed. Those reasons haven't changed. With a HP total comparable to and being way bigger, far less stealthy and clumsier than DDs, that's going to make a difference? There are no such torps. Also what matters is reaction speed. Extremely fast torps would cancel out their concealment disadvantage, aka Kita would likely be way overpowered.

    Whoops, typo. Sorry. Atago and Mogami can fill that role because they have other offensive options to fall back on. Try using pure torps with them and see what happens. That's basically how Kita would play. Yoshino torps are at least fast. With slow torps and garbage IJN torp concealment? Considering you can already dodge the 20km torps at range almost completely broadside? Nah. Again, try using Yoshino only with torps. See how successful you are. Oh, the problem will not be the CV itself most of the time considering CV average skill has been annihilated with the rework. The problem will be air spotting and that practically any hit on you will be a citadel. This includes a variety of HE shells.

    Currently at T8? 8,9km. At T7 this would be 9,9km. So what you're suggesting would be 12-13km torp range. This is with terrible, slow moving torps and you're still gonna have to brave radar etc. In addition due to the spread of the IJN 4x tubes there's inevitably going to be enormous gaps at such distances. All of this would mean getting even a single torp hit would be a challenge in the current meta. And the moment there's a CV in the game you can basically quit back to port. Meanwhile the enemy team has a Cleve, Balti, Edin, Chapa or any other actually useful ship in their team that is not actively shafting them. Yeah, no thanks. I fail to see why something in WoT is relevant tbh. And a 3x Yamato div isn't nearly as useless as Kitakami would be. You're not getting actively shafted just because you have 3x Yamatos on your team while the enemy has a mixed bag of T10 BBs on theirs.

    Will never happen. WG has made it very clear that long range torps are either useless or a DW thing now (Gearing torps being a holdover from a long long time ago). And if you give a Kita long range DW torps there is literally no reason to buy Asashio anymore. Also T7 is unworkable because you'd lose the concealment upgrade, aka you could no longer stealth torp. That means you'd have the same concealment as a Balti with full stealth build while ships like Cleve start outspotting you by a quite comfy margin. If you want to play solely for memes, go do it in a game where you'll bother no one else.

    Why do people want this ship back? I mean, I can understand the general appeal I suppose but given the current reality which includes: - IJN having bad torps in general - glorious long range camping meta combined with the fact that Kita only has 10km torp range - glorious CV rework which will citadel you through your belt and deck with TiTs/HE bombs - glorious thermonuclear HE shells which will do the same thing - a high amount of DDs that EASILY outgun you - radar which has more range than her torps - mediocre concealment (11km base, to put this into perspective Cleve has 11,5km) and so forth and so on I doubt to the extreme that she'd be a fun ship to play. Personally I'm glad she's staying out of the game. Any team that gets a Kita would be immediately shafted in pretty much every relevant aspect. This is no longer CBT, the game has changed and Kitakami simply isn't viable in its current iteration anymore unless you give her absurd buffs at which point she'll likely hurt BBs so that's never going to happen become overpowered.

    Honestly I am lost as to what exactly your point is, so if you're insinuating that having a couple of T10 ships makes you a good/experienced player, then no, it doesn't. if you're insinuating that German ships are somehow weak or unplayable, then no, they are not. It's not the ship's fault if your performance in them is sub-par. If you haven't noticed you perform sub-par in all ships, does that somehow mean all ships in this game are bad? if you're pointing out the performance difference between same ships on different servers, then let me tell you that statistics say there is virtually none.

  22. To give us a picture on how the two iterations stack up against each other I performed a small experiment. Been wanting to do this for a while but I only recently managed to enable the training room on my CN client without ing up everything. Parameters are as follows: Map: Islands (smallest map in the game) Targets: 3x stock North Carolina CV used: Enterprise CV movement: None Launch order RTS: Standard (TBs, fighters, DBs) Launch order rework: Standard (RFs, then adapt to situation aka only TBs in this case) Drop distance (both): as close as possible Attack priority RTS: separate targets for both TBs and DBs RTS First strike: 1 min 42 seconds First kill: 2 mins 31 seconds (flooding) 2nd kill: 4 mins 11 seconds (alpha strike) 3rd kill and total duration: 6 mins 39 seconds Rework First strike: 41 seconds First kill: 2 mins 19 seconds (alpha strike) 2nd kill: 3 mins 52 seconds (alpha strike) 3rd kill and total duration: 5 mins 36 seconds (alpha strike) As you can see, this would suggest that initially reworked CVs are only slightly ahead of RTS ones, but the longer the match goes on the more the former starts to outclass the latter in damage output. You should however note that the range at which this experiment is performed at would be an untenable combat distance for both CV iterations and higher range inevitably favors reworked CVs due to their faster plane speeds. Now this may very well only apply to the Enterprise. I haven't bothered yet to unlock the other high tier CVs on the CN client. It's entirely possible that the Shokaku e.g. is weaker than before, but on the other hand Lexington is likely stronger. Besides CVs have always been judged by their most powerful representatives, no one gave a about bad CVs like e.g. the Ranger in the RTS iteration so I see no reason why weak reworked CVs should be taken into consideration either. This experiment also only shows raw damage output. There is no AA, maneuvering nor fighter interference which you would normally find in a match. E.g. against a NC a reworked Enterprise will only be able to get off 2 attacks with her TBs, but likewise RTS Enterprise will not be able to retain full striking power either, likely losing a squad when going in. Considering that such mechanics are much more in favor of the CV in the rework than in the RTS iteration (AA = much weaker, strike plane reserves = higher, accuracy = higher, fighters = basically non-existent) we can be practically assured that reworked CVs will trump their RTS counterparts in this regard. The only thing that RTS CVs were better in was setting DoT, but that's only because flooding got nerfed, not because of CV capabilities themselves. If flooding had been nerfed during the RTS iteration their time to kill in the experiment above would've been way slower. So yeah, whenever you see someone claim "reWoRkEd CVs aRe mUcH wEaKeR nOw", call bull on it. Small footnote: I don't have AS on my CN Enterprise yet, but those only affect DBs which given the inability of RTS USN AP bombs to citadel NCs would've made no difference aside from maybe changing the damage distribution between TBs and DBs a little.

    You guys should check the torpedo string. "prgt000_invisible_ta" does not bode well. (I know it means the tubes, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if WG made sub torps invisible too at this point.)

    I would've not went capping if I knew it wasn't safe. Seriously though, angling is still a thing. Unless you get caught broadside a Haku or Midway is incredibly difficult to kill even in a BB. In fact a T10 CV can outtrade a T10 BB at mid-close range because balans.
