When played by bad players perhaps but since when do they matter to balance? And "some players", sure. Just like you can find at least one person who is into the most obscure fetish imaginable. I fail to see how they matter to balance either tho.

While Fujin/Kamikaze are undoubtedly p2w in so far that they're straight up better than their tech tree counterparts, they're hardly the most op ships you can buy or could've bought nowadays. Time and meta haven't been kind to them.

The rework is designed so that no matter how good your AA is, at least one attack always gets through. Yes, that is exactly as stupid as it sounds.

Neither is yours. Judged by raw DPS numbers as well as how sector reinforcement works overall AA is actually pathetic. 0.8.7 represents a massive nerf to AA.

I think I know why we get such a disparity in opinions. DFAA Flak damage got enhanced to the point where it will instantly kill a plane. So average players who eat flak now die even harder than before. Meanwhile anyone who knows how to dodge flak laughs at the diminished DPS.

Eh, not really. After all E has two other excellent plane types which got buffed along with the rest of all CVs. And her DBs have enough alpha to compensate for their lack of a 2nd attack. Besides, Roon might just be the exception to the rule. I'll have to see what I can get against other ships. So far I only really have a Salem for comparison which I nuked with 9 citadels in 2 slingshots while he shot down 9 planes. Seems like a fair trade. -

As I said in the other thread, DBs came out worse for wear. IJN DBs actually aim very fast so they're not as affected as USN DBs which need a while to become accurate assuming ofc you don't up. And Haku ofc gets a bigger squad as well. Other plane types seem to have an easier time now. -
Also before I forget, the instant damage from sector reinforcement targets a random plane, not the last one in queue. As such damage taken can be irrelevant to the HP buffer reserves provide as long as that plane isn't killed by it.

Didn't realize it before as I'm just now scrolling through it in its entirety but this thread is some topkek stuff. - AA gets nerfed hard - "OMG CVS ARE NOW UNPLAYABLE!" The average playerbase never ceases to amaze.

I'm very serious actually. Ask @Saiyko if you don't believe me. We did training room tests. Generally speaking AA is far weaker than before. What I mean with being back at 0.8.0 again is that we're practically starting completely anew with balancing work. Another 6 months of failure to look forward to, isn't that great? -
Your loss. Enterprise with the new Sight Stabilization buff has only gotten more hilarious. Dive Bombers are the most affected plane type by this patch as they not only have to stay inside AA the longest but now also face the strongest AA. TBs and RFs meanwhile face reduced opposition now as they only spend a very short time inside close range AA (unless you up ofc). E.g. a Roon which previously could be hit twice by a full squad of Enterprise DBs can now only be hit once. This causes DB plane attrition to be disproportionally high when compared to TBs and DBs at least in my experience. Squad shortening and slingshotting has as such become even more vital than before. In fact it may as well be considered mandatory.

Yes, it is truly fair that a DM that uses both the sector reinforcement and DFAA just gets struck twice by Haku DBs and outright nuked. /s CVs are about to get nerfed. This is a hard reset to any balancing work done before, we're essentially back to 0.8.0 again. Stop being delusional. -
Do note that @Saiyko and I have also found a way to reliably CREATE invis flak as a surface ship. Because glorious mechanics are glorious and not totally more buggy and obscure than before. /s (No, not gonna share how. Gonna send it as a bug report to WG and we'll see how much they care. Which is probably going to be not at all.)

Autopilot at least hasn't intentionally ignored islands yet so that's a good thing. I only played 2 battles so far, so nothing conclusive yet.

Did some testing with @Saiyko as he previously announced. AA in general has been heavily nerfed. A full Haku DB squad can now get 2x strikes on a DFAA DM with sector reinforcement which will likely also apply to the Worcester. Kremlin AA is a shadow of its former self. Mino AA is slightly less effective than before. MAA seems to be a decent skill on DDs, however you need to sacrifice so many points that it becomes untenable to run a build with it. On literally everything else it doesn't seem worth running. E.g. Kremlin with MAA shot down fewer planes than Kremlin with normal sector reinforcement. This seems to reflect changes when comparing pure base AA values even if you consider that AA is additive now. Mino total AA is about half of what her mid range used to be. Winners seem to be USN BBs which now have a total AA of what Mino mid range used to be. So no, this is not the AA buff you're looking for.
