No adjustments to CVs were made in 0.8.8 nor 0.8.8.1. And you did not average 80-100k damage per match. Your average is 72k. -

Against a skilled CV player: - AA sector reinforcement is worthless as a mechanic - DFAA is worthless - any kind of positioning that is not completely out in the open is automatically advantageous to a CV player - sailing out in the open is advantageous to a CV player - shutting off AA is largely worthless As such there is no counterplay against CVs. Any kind of counterplay that "works" is entirely the fault of the CV player, what a surface ship does plays no part whatsoever. No, it is as strong if not outright stronger than before the rework. Basic example: Which brings me to another point which is likely going to be unpopular: Shokaku compares very favorably to Enterprise. Since Enterprise was deemed overpowered enough to be taken out of the premium store Shokaku must be nerfed.

It is simple fact that the amount of flak hasn't changed (if anything it has in fact been reduced), as such it probably just comes down to human error.

Flak mechanics haven't changed beyond DFAA and the minimum distance limit, the latter being a very harsh nerf to flak. And even at max saturation flak can be dodged easily if you understand the mechanics behind it.

Like: - Visuals while not cutting edge do look pretty good - Audio up until 0.8.8, whether 0.8.8.1 fixes that remains to be seen - Merchandise. Yes, I'm serious. There is no dogfighting. Fighters are completely automated.

Wouldn't know, haven't played her. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But if someone wants to donate one to me so I can evaluate her, well, I wouldn't be averse to it. Apparently you're supposed to use these to make DDs miserable and use TBs on pretty much everything else.

There camrade. Now you do not contradict official WG statement which surely cannot be lie! You seem to forget that GZ can mount the FCM1 upgrade which increases deck reserves by 2 for all plane types and improves respawn speed by 5% whereas Ryujo cannot. Just saying. You should compare fully upgraded stats, not base ones to get the full picture. I believe @Sunleader is the resident expert on the GZ and afaik she performs fine in his hands.

And yet some are significantly better traits to have than others. This isn't really something against CVs, it is inevitable when you have an asymmetrical role distribution and applies to many other games. However such advantages are usually made up with equally significant weaknesses. Reworked CVs don't really have those. Flak in your replay would've been easy to dodge had you even applied the most basic principles. Due to the way flak is generated it honestly doesn't matter how many flak bursts are spawned, as such flak can in fact be completely ignored.

I'm gonna guess that's a fairly old build since @Bear_Necessities should know neither AR nor Last Gasp are particularly useful skills nowadays. SS is actually hilarious on Enterprise since her planes have low tier aiming parameters. Her planes are generally more "resistant" to becoming inaccurate while changing course when preparing an attack to the point where her DBs just outright don't care, making them capable of exploiting particularly hilarious attack angles.

Which is quite a significant advantage, therefore invalidating your point of average damage as it proves not all damage is equal. Almost all of your losses where due to flak. There'd be practically no difference had you attacked any other ship with DFAA equipped. In the few instances where your aircraft didn't immediately lose all their HP to flak DPS output was actually quite bad.

Exp earnings are a basic indicator of how much effective damage you deal since you earn more exp per percentage of damage dealt. There is an issue with the individual exp modifiers of specific classes and some ships, but since we know CV earnings = BB earnings, as per official post, that CVs earn more exp than BBs on average means effective damage dealt is higher. This is also reflected in a better kills per match ratio. You're not even trying to dodge flak. No wonder.

Are there even any changes to CVs in 0.8.8 that we know about? I mean, at this point I wouldn't be surprised at all if they've just given up completely.

Except we do actually have spacecraft and "flying" BBs (both as a skin and as a funny bug) ingame. WG has also ed around with some penetration values vs irl penetration capability. Beyond the basic setting realism doesn't play any part. Precisely. It has to do with role distribution, not numbers. Hence why the numbers argument is flawed. Except she maintains a poor WR despite big damage numbers because the damage she causes isn't very effective. Which is also why AP bombs are currently superior to HE ones. Not only do they cause more damage overall, it also cannot be recovered as easily. Some basic prediction skills negate that completely. Again, flak is completely irrelevant unless you're incapable of dodging, at which point you simply have to learn to dodge. Point is if a unicum can do something, that means such a level of performance is achievable. That a potato cannot something becomes entirely irrelevant at this point because a potato is not meant to perform on the same or even close to the level of a unicum. As such it is perfectly fine that potatoes have difficulties. All they need to do is improve. That's not me playing. And you can do that too. It's not that hard.

Out of 3 reasons 2 are based on realism and thus irrelevant to an arcade game. And the other one doesn't hold up either as it is completely flawed reasoning. Just because something is the most numerous class doesn't mean it has to be the weakest. Otherwise BBs would have to get nerfed hard. No, it doesn't. In terms of damage what matters is effective damage. Blindly quoting average damage is thus indeed worthless, otherwise Conqueror would one of the most powerful BBs by quite the margin yet she clearly is not. Except again, a DD cannot dodge. A CV on the other hand can miss. Hence why any difficulty you may have is entirely on you. Wrong. Kidd has the 2nd best AA, followed by Gearing. And Kidd AA is equivalent to some T6 ships, while Grozo AA sits between T5 and T6. Just compare the actual DPS values. What tier these ships are on is entirely irrelevant to a CV as only their AA matters. Which again is entirely irrelevant. Average players who do not play at peak capacity do not deserve to have the same efficiency as someone who does. And it is in fact possible to fly through flak without taking damage due to how flak works. Observe: No damage on first flak wall. Completely expected behavior if you know the workings of flak mechanics.

Ah, so a CV needs to be more powerful than other classes solely because there are fewer of them in the match? That's too bad, DDs need buffing by that logic as well. *citation needed* Irrelevant. Everyone can git gud. If you do not then you simply do not deserve to be successful. Also as of 0.8.7 Grozo AA is equivalent to T5-6. Again irrelevant. It is proven that flak is near 100% dodgeable. If you are incapable of doing so you neither deserve to be successful nor do you have the right to complain about it.

High tier DDs deal only 37k damage. Buff DDs I suppose. Average damage alone is a worthless stat. Not even WG uses it for balancing. Objectively wrong. If you have difficulty hitting DDs with rockets, even ones who shut off their AA, you're incompetent. Has nothing to do with CVs themselves. Friesland has less AA than a Colorado. If you can attack a Colorado, you can attack a Friesland.
