Which, again, is entirely expected due to the new MM constraints. The CV population is being concentrated into fewer tiers which inevitably raises their encounter rate when coupled with their usual MM limits. WoWs is a seasonal game with somewhat inconsistent patterns, which is one of the reasons why relative numbers are irrelevant. We'd have to wait until roughly Christmas to get conclusive evidence on whether the game is actually bleeding a significant amount of players. From there causes can be easily extrapolated by looking at the biggest changes, the CV rework being one of them. For now the game is less popular than a year ago, but if Xmas time sees the same peak as last year it just means the usual popularity spike is starting late this year.

Beyond how your line of reasoning and calculations are ludicrously flawed due to old vs new CV MM constraints, thus would pretty much always paint a picture that CVs now are represented more in battles than before (which I'm sure you know as these have been talked about time and time again but ignore since such facts do not fit your narrative), why, pray tell, is that more important?

Yuo see camrade. When make CVs more equal, must disregard balans because balans is not goal! You might as well ask why Midway DBs got slammed with the heaviest nerf once again. Or why Hermes RFs now have the same HP as Haku's. Flattening out HP progression was the goal, so in WG's view it must be done no matter the effect on balance.
-
It wasn't. It's a picture perfect example as to why you don't balance around average stats. You see, E used to have the worst average stats out of all premium CVs. This is because I was literally the only skilled CV player that played her while everyone else was playing GZ, Kaga or Saipan. In fact someone calculated that if I had not played her E would've fallen below tech tree CVs in stats. So all WG saw was that E had terrible stats. They ofc completely ignored my performance in her despite it surpassing the numbers skilled players were putting up in the other premium CVs. Hence she got buffed.

- is post #18 - previous posts all in a civil tone Need I say more? To OP: Just embrace it. WG wants you to be an egoistical damage farmer that doesn't care about the team, so be one.

All you have proven is that the game is currently less popular than a year ago. Because guess what, relative numbers are irrelevant. The reason is very simple, RTS CV population had a number which was consistently there. These are players who played and stuck with the class. Likewise this now applies to the rework. Aka relative numbers are entirely dependent on the population of other classes. Using them as you have done paints a completely wrong picture as it is derived not by an increase in CV population but by a decrease in population of surface ships. Aka it is a blatant lie as usual with you. And it is tremendously disgusting.

Last I heard Kaga handles being up-tiered extremely well (which she should given the massive buff she recently received) while Saipan and Ark Royal perform at least decently enough. Only focusing on plane tier is ignorant at best as there are plenty of other stats to consider. And I fail to see how their previous tier plays into this given that the way CVs as a whole played was completely different.
-
Given that we've been using maplesyrup to put population data on display for quite some time I can only assume this is just you being deliberately dishonest once again. This is not a day sample as you should know. As for relative numbers, total population was 65168, meaning CVs represent less than 4% of the playerbase currently. You could've ofc just looked that up yourself but that would go against the lies you're trying to spin, wouldn't it? And if a substantial part of the CV playerbase were actually regrinding CVs they'd be done with it several times over by now even if they were failing their way up, yet high tier population has remained on the decline. In fact low tier population is on the decline as well, so players are abandoning the class. Your claim does not hold up to reality as usual.

I highly doubt such a team ever existed given that it is not how game development usually goes down. In terms of programming you generally need people who know their way around the engine, not a specific game genre. With enough rewriting a game engine can be made to do things it was never intended to. The RTS infrastructure was already in place, so the programmers were clearly successful with their implementation. Beyond that all other support such as bug fixing, balancing, etc. can be accomplished without needing specific RTS know-how as well. A dedicated RTS team would make no sense whatsoever. Besides, afaik a lot of people in the WoWs team were former NavyField devs, a game which already had a RTS CV component. The expertise is thus available regardless.

New population data. And boy you better strap in because it's hilarious. Reworked CVs at 2019/09/21: HT: 941 players, 24.6k battles LT: 1539 players, 39.7k battles Total: 2480 players, 64.3k battles For reference Last snapshot of RTS CVs at 2019/01/26: HT: 992 players, 27k battles LT: 1228 players, 32.1k battles Total: 2220 players, 59.1k battles Snapshot of RTS CVs one year ago at 2018/09/22: HT: 1020 players, 25.4k battles LT: 1442 players, 36.7k battles Total: 2462 players, 62.1k battles And keep in mind low tier reworked CVs are being artificially kept alive thanks to glorious T4 seal clubbing. Also these numbers are DESPITE an event for CVs currently running and the extreme 0.8.7 buff. Can someone from WG please finally admit what a gigantic failure the rework is?

Nah, just common sense. Fighters = RFs which move at boost speed. RN fighters even with boost are godawfully slow and fighters in general are meh at best, so RN fighters are particularly bad. Ark Royal is no exception to this. Thus using Direction Center is ill-advised on any CV and should be treated as a throwaway, but it is especially bad on RN CVs.

Japanese Carriers are fairly bad or just me?
El2aZeR replied to Bavi0014's topic in General Discussion
Except they don't. Multiple attacks can be made on all but the heaviest AA and damage dealing capabilities are very favorable. With proper reserve management and abuse of "working as intended" mechanics Shokaku is practically impossible to deplane as well. I've been in plenty of T10 matches with her and had no issues whatsoever. CV average stats can be thrown out of the window if you want a proper picture of their actual potential. This is due to CV average skill being down the drain since the rework to the point where players with <65% WR and <80k damage have no issues entering the top 100 bracket, something utterly unprecedented and not seen with any other class. This means the amount of skilled CV players is almost nonexistent, inevitably leading to terrible averages.- 34 replies

El2aZeR replied to Bavi0014's topic in General Discussion
Embrace it. Be the filthy egoistical CV player WG wants you to be. If I'm not chatbanned I'll just make fun of them. E.g. if someone asks for air cover I'll just reply that it's not my job and that they should deal with it.- 34 replies

Well, technically speaking she got... adjusted I guess? She got her TB squad size increased to 10 but traded a single reserve plane for it. Against high AA ships this is meh, against low AA ships it is pretty good. More of a trade-off than an outright buff/nerf. Doesn't really change all that much regardless, so I would reckon she was always this powerful. Enterprise is ofc still better but Shokaku gets very close and is as such overpowered. Could just be a side effect of CVs generally being op after AA got murdered in 0.8.7 tho.- 34 replies

That he previously had 80-100k average damage and dropped down after a string of bad games. Stat progression clearly shows around 70k average damage regardless of timeframe. -
Heads up, you picked SI instead of DE. Also get Improved Boost. Not only are fighters generally useless in an air defense role, RN fighters are especially so because they're so godawfully slow, meaning your chances of a successful interception are even lower than usual.

Which you would know is laughably untrue if you had simply bothered to check stats. -
submarines SUBMARINES - discussion, feedback, opinions
El2aZeR replied to WG_Lumberjack's topic in General Discussion
Frankly? Subs look terrible. There seem to be no realistic counterplay options to submarines aside from having a CV deal with them (and subs already represent a massive buff to CVs as they take away enemy AA capabilities, the last thing we need is another gigantic CV buff). Any DD that attempts to attack a sub will be spotted the entire time as predicted and while this may work against bots, it will certainly not work against actual players. Likewise subs cannot effectively engage each other making for extremely stupid gameplay scenarios at times. Attempting to blindfire is about the only thing one can do. As for submarine gameplay, unless you can catch a seriously dumb BB (which to be fair exist en masse) there is no reliable option to deal damage. Even with a double ping any surface ship seems to be able to outmaneuver torps easily, hitting an attentive player is thus close to impossible. However subs are ridiculously good at scouting, keeping their surrounding area lit the entire time while being difficult to detect and engage by enemy surface ships. This basically just makes them glorified spotters. Hardly very exciting gameplay. Practically speaking there is no real reason to play a sub over a DD or CV as the latter two classes have far better options to deal damage while at the same time fulfilling the scouting role just as effectively if there are no subs around making submarines redundant. -
Still terrible after 0.8.8.1 imo. I much prefer the previous sounds. It's especially bad with aircraft. Quite frankly they sound like lawnmowers now and the boost sound is just plain weird.

Take this with a grain of salt since I don't understand Japanese and thus can't verify it, but apparently the Azur Lane devs have announced during their anniversary stream that there will be another collab with WoWs in their game next year . Since these have always coincided with collab events in WoWs as well it's likely we're gonna see another AL collab stage when that happens. El2aZeR replied to Kancolle_Kongou's topic in Off-Topic
You need a ton of BPs anyway to reach max development level on a PR ship. I think the number was around 350 for regular PR ships and over 500 for Azuma/FdG. This is why you should always collect the BPs from event exchange. Even in the unlikely event that you have all PR ships at max development level already. Because apparently they announced that PR3 is hitting sometime next year during the anniversary stream. Which also probably means we're gonna see another collab stage in WoWs as well.
