Here's a better question: Would you really be better off with a RTS Lex in a RTS T10 environment? Where some of the worst AA ships in the game can easily chew up even higher tier squads by simply sticking in the general vicinity of each other, not even blobbing? And well, perhaps you're just not good enough to play CVs to their full potential?
-
Indeed. Here's a video of it btw, complete with Chinese commentary and music. http://v.huya.com/play/212992446.html?source=ios&sharetype=other&shareid=s14618232759657782231&platform=7 Screenshots: (The dude was even afk for the first minute because he was eating LOL. Also pure BB MM.) EDIT: Jesus F Christ I haven't actually watched this yet until now. This is the outright most heartbreaking loss I've ever seen. And I've seen some in my years with this game.

OP actually admits that he did something wrong and doesn't proceed to throw insults at us and/or demand the developer to fix the game. I am amazed. Kudos to you OP just for that. Players like you are far too rare in this playerbase sadly.

And it has been proven none of your examples have any kind of effect nor do they apply to CVs. No, you claimed that CVs have counters when it is proven by hard facts that they don't. That makes you the one who has to prove your claim. We've already done so with ours. DFAA is completely worthless and has little to no effect on CVs. It takes away your ability to take Hydro on most ships, an objectively far more useful consumable. The moment you take DFAA you're disadvantaged by the CV. If you take Hydro you're also disadvantaged by the CV. If you can get both you're still disadvantaged by the CV. I fail to see anything positive here. A claim for which you still can't deliver any proof. Aha, so you lied when you said that even ships with no AA can effectively counter a CV. I sure wonder what else you lied about?

So does the rework as soon as it gets anywhere close to balance as 0.8.5 proves. In fact it's even more dead when that happens, which in a way is kinda impressive. So even in that regard the rework is way worse.
-
It is the objective truth. As such even making the effort of coming up with further suggestions is pointless and more won't get us anywhere either since the core fundamentals are causing issues. Any suggestion to get the rework closer to balance inevitably leads to failure one way or another as 0.8.5, the most balanced iteration of the rework so far (which isn't saying much as AA was still too weak), has proven. Whether WG wants to actually implement such or not doesn't matter. Although apparently some WG employee has actually made some remarks about returning to the RTS iteration during a recent player gathering (something about if someone manages 600k damage in a reworked CV they will return to RTS immediately). This may have just been in a joking manner and is poorly sourced, so take it with a grain of salt. Regardless a return might not be completely off the table yet. Why yes, after all CVs already enjoy a severe advantages in: - survivability - reliability - speed - damage dealing capability - spotting - independence from teammates and so forth and so on over normal surface ships. Attacking any of these aspects seriously imperils the quality of life of CV gameplay leading to extinction of the class. To then say that it should be natural that their damage potential cannot be completely shut down is utterly ludicrous. The RTS iteration, while definitely not perfect in this regard either, at least suffered in speed and relied far more on their teammates to take out no-fly-zones which currently no longer exist. You can only "counter" a CV strike in the most abstract of sense. Aka you take crippling damage versus you take even more crippling damage. The difference is negligible given the reality of the situation and, in fact, does not have anything to do with countering the CV whatsoever as you are not disadvantaging the CV in any way, the CV is always disadvantaging you.
-
Highest damage is actually 600k, someone on the CN server pulled that with a Midway. It's on Fara's Discord. Want to know something even more funny tho? The game was a loss.
-
It has been pretty much confirmed by WG, yes.
-
1. Correcting the common misconception and outright lie that reworked CVs deal less damage than RTS ones. 2. Simply proving that if the RTS iteration was broken, then the rework must also be considered so. It is pretty much universally agreed among us that the rework cannot be saved as its core concept is flawed to the extreme. Why? Having only one squad means that this one squad has to deal damage, otherwise reworked CVs are useless. If reworked CVs have to deal damage then there must be no counterplay. Therefore reworked CVs can only either be broken or useless. No balance can be found because the very core design of the rework prevents it. Thus there is only one constructive suggestion to give: Scrap the rework and go back to the drawing board. Whether that means a return to the RTS gameplay or something new entirely doesn't matter, it literally cannot be worse than the pile of burning garbage that is the rework as it already represents the lowest point game design and balance can go.

Alpha strike was just the cause of death of the target. Which means the rework holds an even bigger edge than shown in the numbers as DoT is 100% healable while alpha is not. Over 50 matches. Hardly the most representative number of matches, no? But hey, I'm also winning ~90% of my Enterprise matches since 0.8.7 so there is that. Go head over to the CV Discussion thread where I posted a screen of a Yorck, a KGV and a Musashi completely annihilating my RTS Saipan squads without DFAA or them even being close together. It is actually laughable how weak AA now is in comparison, so by all means I see no reason to complain. Also funnily enough reworked Saipan has similar alpha per attack even purely on paper, giving the damage advantage thoroughly to the rework in any realistic match scenario as outlined above.
-
Yuo see camrade, CV rework is so popular that other class population has gone into negative! Therefore CV rework is great success!
-
Not exactly surprising considering who it is. On that note: Oh look, long range AA from a Yorck, long range AA from a KGV and a Musashi, an utterly pitiful AA lineup regardless of pre or post rework, managed to shoot down almost my entire T9 strike without DFAA or fighter interference. "Hurr durr, AA is stronger than before!" LOL

- something that does not exist - something that does not work - something that does not work You're comparing something that is literally based on RNG and some COUNTERPLAY on part of the Smolensk, aka moving around a bit in smoke, to something that has no RNG and is reliable every single time, aka a CV trying to torp you, you turn and get hit by the cross drop against which you can do precisely nothing. Really? You've basically just proven our point. Again.
-
Except, again, counterplay is well defined in game design. As such if your personal definition differs then it simply is wrong. Anyone who has even a modicum of modern FPS experience will know that this is a blatant lie of colossal magnitude.
-
Bwahahahahaha. That you honestly believe that is hilarious. Which is relevant how exactly when time to kill is the same or faster? Teammates with good AA do not exist as good AA doesn't exist. Islands favor the CV. That's supposed to be counterplay? No, that's just delaying the inevitable. You forgot to mention what happens afterwards, which is taking the full cross drop. Try again.
-
No it won't. The reason you're able to do that is not because you're playing well, it is because most CV players do not. And why does that matter? Oh my, what was it you said? "Stay impersonal"? How about you practice what you preach for once? Ah, but it is you yourself who said that we should evaluate CVs not by any kind of skill but by their inherent capabilities, no? As such by your own words top CV players are representative as they showcase the inherent capabilities of CVs while how average and bad players perform is irrelevant. Again, how about you go practice what you preach for once?
-
Aha, so the same as pre-rework. Since none of the ways to counter RTS CVs work anymore this is basically just you admitting that you have no idea and you've blatantly lied to our faces. Typical. A Phoenix could use island cover to burn a Nikolai down or ambush it with torps e.g. This does not apply to CVs. That you're even drawing such a comparison is utterly laughable. And what is the difference against a Langley or a Hermes except for the DPM? Shouldn't ways to counterplay apply regardless of which CV is attacking you? Is this irrelevant point really your argument?
-
What counterplay does the Lyon have against a reworked CV that does the same thing in the same timeframe? Your hypocrisy is amazing in a way.
-
Nothing much tbh, but Japanese voice actors are more popular and is generally accepted as the industry standard for "anime games". Deviating inevitably means less popularity. Imagine if WoWs was available only in Russian e.g. when it is worldwide accepted that video games should have at least an English localization.
-
Going for "lol it's how you personally define it" isn't exactly smart when game design gives a pretty clear definition you know? Aka your own personal definition is wrong and your refusal to change it reveals how blatantly biased you are.
-
Wat. Where? And how?!
-
- Radar enables you to damage the enemy DD regardless of his ability to fire back at you. Nothing enables you to cripple the enemy CV - Hydro allows you to easily dodge torps with even the most sluggish ship. Nothing enables you to dodge the ordinance of CVs - Concealment is outright irrelevant against CVs due their newly gained Situational Awareness skill - So you admit smoke is worthless as a CV counter? - Armor only works in the most abstract of sense. There is no active counterplay such as angling - Counterplay options change depending on enemy gun caliber, nothing changes in the face of CV ordinance - Counterplay options change depending on chosen enemy ammo type, nothing changes in the face of CV ordinance When all else fails, you can always just go for the irrelevant "BUT MUH REAL LIFE", huh?
-
No it wouldn't. Not after 0.8.7. Again, time to kill is the same or faster with reworked CVs. So attempting to take the moral highground here is really just you shooting yourself in the foot again. Checking top player stats reveals that they did the same things they do now, while checking bad player stats reveals they've gotten way worse. Which in itself reveals your blatant bias as personal definitions are irrelevant. Allow me to demonstrate: Ah yes, truly AA is stronger than before. /s Or alternatively I recently attacked a Tirpitz that was covered by a Zao sitting behind the island. I lost all my AP DBs for no damage due to Zao DFAA. Thank god the CN client still exists so blatant lies like yours can still be disproven. Also implying that such blobbing will save you now lol.
