So everyone that doesn't agree with you is a troll?
-
- Reworked CVs are about as popular as RTS CVs - average players fail even harder than before So by your own standards WG has actually failed.
-
Funny, whenever I see potato CVs, and that's pretty much every match since I play CVs myself, they tend to fly around with viable attack wings even towards the end of the match. The math behind this is fairly simple. In the time it takes you to cycle through and suicide two squads you will usually have regenerated an attack wing for the third one. Combine that with initial reserves as well as returning attack wings and aircraft reserves can last a long time even if you suicide into flak all the time.
-
They might as well have. Back during RTS it was hard enough to deplane pre-nerf Midway which had about 90 strike planes. T8 CVs can easily rival that nowadays, not to mention AA is pretty much useless in comparison. In fact reworked Saipan, THE CV with "terrible reserves", already far surpasses RTS Shokaku in sustain, possessing about the same strike reserves as Taiho which was formerly the T9 IJN CV. So yes, while it is technically speaking true that CVs do not have unlimited planes, being limited by the match timer, they have so many that even potatoes can throw around viable attack wings for so long that it is pretty much irrelevant. And CV sustain only scales upwards with rising skill, while surface ship actions have pretty much no influence whatsoever. As such preaching that "omg CVs don't have unlimited planes" is just being intellectually dishonest.

- If the enemy ship launches late, counter it with your own fighter (timing needs to be very precise here if the enemy has good AA) or just accel bail after the attack if you can't make another one. - If the enemy ship launches early, shorten your squad until you only have two attack wings left. One will get chewed up by AA anyway, so you can make one attack and lose practically the same amount of aircraft as you would normally. This can often be translated into a slingshot. - Know the cd. One launch usually means your follow up will be able to go through unhindered unless your target is stupidly far away while the fighter will be up again guaranteed on your third strike. Plan accordingly. - Fighter can be cheesed with TB heal and after attack immunity if timed right.

1. Wat. 2. While the catapult fighter is the most powerful AA consumable, it does have its counters. Learn how to deal with them. 3. SR is useless and massing AA doesn't have any effect unless your team doesn't want any map control, at which point you lose anyway so the enemy CV still wins. Git gud.

If the health of the game is your concern then outright removing reworked CVs would be for the best, no?

Fly into all this AA: Result? "CVs are in a balanced state" LOL (And yes, they used SR. I didn't care because SR is useless.)

Pro tip: Always report for "Misbehavior in chat", it is the only option that actually does something. Why anyone would care about karma is beyond me.

Except that is what lead to this garbage pile of a rework. Except it does. Besides, even mediocre players can do extremely well with E. Actually it wasn't until a few months ago that E started dominating. And since the WoWs team balances around average numbers and no skilled player aside from me was playing E before that, resulting in extremely poor averages, that lead to Enterprise getting buffed quite significantly despite already being overpowered. So much for "skilled players do not matter", huh? Also it was possible for premium CVs to be targeted by nerfs directly up until around April I believe. This is because they were still considered work in progress. Premium ships can be targeted by global nerfs, not individual nerfs. Just like Enterprise was targeted by global nerfs in the course of these past few months, she just weathered them better than her contemporaries because her inherent characteristics are laughably broken. Also I have no idea when Tirpitz got nerfed. She's the one ship that has perhaps received the most buffs in this game. Translation: "If I spend that much money on a ship it has to be blatantly op." Another one of your "OMG BUFF GZ" calls, huh? It's getting rather old at this point. If you can't make her perform, git gud. But then again you'd rather accuse others of cheating than spending your time gitting gud, no? Ark Royal is one of the better performing T6 CVs and far from weak. Just because you can't make her work doesn't mean that applies to everyone else as well. Also new premium CVs are generally on ice now because the rework is such a gigantic failure if word is to be believed and so is almost everything else related to CVs. And releasing new CVs just for the sake of releasing them LOL. That makes you the one who doesn't understand how to make money.

You go out of your way to put fighter above teammates = wasted time. This is because fighters can be easily cheesed and let one strike through regardless. Even if enemy is dumb enough to strike without doing anything to counter that = You 0 strikes, he 1 strike. That means you are now behind. If enemy is not dumb enough to strike without doing something to cheese your fighter = You 0 strikes, he 1 effective strike. That means you're now even more behind. Your fighter is no longer available for scouting, the true use of the fighter. In a lategame CV sniping duel, a wasted fighter can cost you your life. Fighters are completely useless in countering enemy CV strikes on teammates. Even attempting to do so is a complete waste of time that can be better spent on killing the enemy. Fighters are much better used as either a scouting tool or for self defense. Therefore attempting to use fighters to cover teammates is a noob action that actively sabotages your team's chances of winning the match. Wasted a drop for nothing. Why a DD would ever change course is beyond me. Put a fighter above him for spotting and continue to your original target, come back 30 seconds later with rockets to kill the DD.
-
- CVs chasing enemy planes to drop fighters on them - CVs attempting to provide fighter cover for teammates - CVs using AP DBs on healthy DDs - CVs missing stationary BBs with rockets

Changes in the non-linear addition of the continuous damage caused by AA guns.
El2aZeR replied to Tanatoy's topic in Development Blog
According to a reddit post WG also believes that they buffed AA with 0.8.7. So meh, nothing surprises me anymore. I'm not even joking. https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldOfWarships/comments/dlicdj/changes_in_the_nonlinear_addition_of_the/f4qpl9n/ -
More like being put on ice because it is such a gigantic failure if word is to be believed. Lets check the facts, shall we? - The game has experienced its worst summer since 2016 in terms of player count, likely due to reworked CVs - If maplesyrup is to be believed low tiers is slowly but surely dying since low tier CVs were buffed (we're seeing player numbers worse than in this summer despite overall player numbers being up in comparison) - No meaningful balancing adjustments have been made since 0.8.7, with none on the horizon either - Ark Royal has extremely low player numbers and battles played despite being out for quite some time now AND partially given out for free, as such the first premium CV released since RTS must be a commercial failure - Rework population continues to be on pre-rework level despite the recent buff - Indomitable has been in development hell since forever - Official statement said no work whatsoever is being put into alt CV lines - Recent attempts to talk about CVs on stream has been met with rather negative responses from WG CMs - Crysantos admitted live that the competitive environment is better off without CVs - No big announcement about rework being mostly finished despite numerous small official statements and this theoretically being a huge milestone for the game, looks like they intend to kill it with silence instead Thus it wouldn't surprise me at all if devs privately admitted that the rework has failed.
-
Ark Royal has shown that any "balanced" CV is commercially unsuccessful. Plane models need to be completely overhauled/remade and are thus unusable. Simple comparison between RTS ones and rework ones will show that rework ones have much higher polycount and higher quality textures. While shipmodeling may be done, the design and balancing process is still going to cost serious time and money. And if they end up op, we just have another premium CV that will be pulled off the shelves. If they're not, they'll be commercially unsuccessful and thus a waste of money. Basically there is no scenario in which WG makes cash here, so it's better to just leave everything as is. Personally I believe they'll just shoehorn CVs into CBs once the spotting change goes through and force KotS to use CVs eventually then call everything a done deal.
-
New premium CVs clearly aren't profitable if Ark Royal is any indication. So it wouldn't be surprising at all to never see one again. Actual WG employee words spoken to some players during a gathering, but ofc we have no way to verify it ourselves. Still, it makes sense considering all the things we've seen recently. Rejoice comrades, we have fulfilled our objective.
-
In fact if info on Fara's discord is to be trusted WG labeled the rework as a huge failure and thus all work on CVs, including Indomitable, alt CV lines, new CV lines, new premium CVs, balancing, etc., is being put straight into development hell. Would make sense considering recent events and statements.
