RIP screws, Zero M52s and Shiden K2s. Hello GAIJIN POWER. -
While such a statement indeed does not exist, there are statements that current CV - surface ship interaction is considered balanced at this point which raises some eyebrows to say the least given that surface ships with heavy AA or even groups are hard-pressed to defend themselves from lower tier air attacks at least in high tiers. There is also a dev post on reddit about how AA was generally buffed in 0.8.7 which any halfway decent CV player knows to be untrue. Not even going to start with the extremely questionable decision to declare premium CV balancing as finished early into the rework. Although while we're at it, is WG at least aware of the bug that sticks the mouse to the screen and locks up the UI completely? The only way to "fix" this is to kill the game via taskmanager and restart.

It is related because it is more than proof that not everything WG representatives say is credible. I could've also just pulled the official statement about GZ being totally fine and all CV players just being unable to make her perform back when she was first released but I figured I'd use something more recent. And yes, although this is a different "type" of invisible flak than demonstrated in the previous thread. I can try to get all types that afaik exist recorded but that might take a while. Currently in my experience there are: - render delay - ship behind the squad in smoke - fast acceleration of aircraft from slow speed - POSSIBLY extreme turning capability of aircraft (unconfirmed, will need to test this one more extensively) - island cutoff (as demonstrated above)
-
So I am to believe that invisible flak is in fact working as intended and I'm just bad at playing CVs as your colleague told me here? https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/118328-psa-invisible-flak/ Wait, I thought that is a done deal given that you've announced it in an official post already? Does that mean the "support CV" concept is off the table and being reconsidered?
-
Funnily enough no we didn't.
-
Ironically that kinda makes his point? After all it matters little to play out a match with him as a CV on your team.
-
Or if they leave. Which means a DD may do nothing useful in smoke aside from throwing torpedoes. Once it fades, they're dead. Meanwhile you're free to pursue other targets, so it's not like they're even wasting your time. Many CV captains are also incompetent, thus irrelevant.
-
So basically CVs have no counterplay since no matter what other players do, they get on regardless. Ironically a CV has counterplay options for that.
-
According to Fara's Discord a dev admitted it during a player gathering. And given that CVs haven't seen any major changes for some time now nor will there be any in the foreseeable future it seems to be credible.

Huh. Didn't someone here get Crosswave? How is it? -
PS has been confirmed to work as intended, the visual part is just convoluted. There is no need to further work on your post. AA builds are largely useless one way or another.
-
On a more serious note, rumor has it that WG has ceased all development on CVs due to the rework being a massive failure, thus no more CV lines will ever appear.

Attempting to clear 5-5 to get Night Ops Aviation Personnel from quest B105 is the biggest bull I've ever seen. Whoever thought of putting one elite Re-class on pre-boss and ing two of them on the boss node along with a Southern War Princess must be ing insane. -

Truly a remark you of all people should be using after basing every single statement on either lies or worthless beliefs that crumble in the face of proven facts.
-
Because Enterprise is really really op. Shokaku is just op.
-
If there were less people playing purely "for fun" the game would be a lot better. You're just adding to the problem.

What WG spreadsheets, Smolensk, CVs and Pavlovs dogs have in common
El2aZeR replied to anonym_DKZABZXaXZld's topic in General Discussion
The AA is already inadequate, as such it is a big downside to the ship. -
Enterprise has far more versatility due to excellent plane regen and generally hits harder. Enterprise RFs while about the same in per salvo damage are far more maneuverable, practically unlimited in numbers and have the better squad size, usually allowing for one more attack per squad. Enterprise TBs hit harder and have higher flooding chance. Enterprise AP DBs tend to make up for their inaccuracy via sheer volume of fire and can attack from almost any angle. They're also usually tanky enough to make a second attack run. Shokaku meanwhile RFs are more limited, have less health but do possess the excellent IJN dispersion which allows them to hit hard at any angle. TBs are easy enough to use and come with good reserves, their striking power is nowhere near E tho. AP DBs are more accurate and have a wider target range, but it's rare that you get more than one attack out of them. Doesn't mean Shokaku is bad, she's an excellent CV. In terms of overall effectiveness she actually gets fairly close to E.

A guaranteed kill without any negative consequences for the CV nor options to counterplay for the surface ship player isn't a shut down? That's rich. Statements backed by objective facts are now opinions. I guess that's the only thing you have left after running out of arguments. Also "again"? You have yet to back your statements with objectively true facts a single time.
-
While the potential alpha is nice, the RFs are way too slow which hurts their DPM severely and provide limited utility against all other classes. This also hurts their survivability due to a longer bail time and more time spent inside AA. Generally speaking a high amount of reserves and/or faster regen time is preferable to a high survivability these days as all AA is pathetic, thus the value of high survivability gets diminished while high reserves/fast regen grants you more flexibility.

Almost the same, yeah. -

Smolensk AA is meh at best. -
1. Haku/Enterprise 2. Shokaku 3. Midway If you want maximum impact go for the IJN line, but know that they generally require more skill to play.
-
Except a CV is as of 0.8.7 always capable of shutting down any surface ship in any situation 100% for negligible plane losses due to a combination of massive reserves and generally inadequate AA as already outlined previously. "Costly" strikes do not exist. The last time this actually applied to CVs you labeled them as unplayable and demanded a refund despite more experienced and skilled CV players telling you otherwise. Thus, again, by your own standards CVs are broken. Also gotta love how you dropped every other point again for which you have no answer for. The truth is harsh, isn't it?
