It does for both. OP wants to make it launch only when spotted by aircraft. Which imo is a moot point since you rarely get spotted by surface ships anyway unless ofc you up.

Lets actually analyze that, shall we? Thunderer, Ohio, Venezia and Stalingrad are ships in limited circulation. The way to obtain those currently is skewed towards more skilled players. Their statistical overperformance is therefore not only normal but should be expected as it is closer to representing the actual potential of these ships than one that is commonly available. Conqueror deals more damage but is laughably more ineffective at it as is evidenced by the low KPM. That leaves Kremlin and Smolensk as the closest contenders, both of which are widely acknowledged as overperforming. And even they can't keep up in terms of damage efficiency. If anything you have just proven that the Hakuryu at least is op. WR doesn't mean anything because CVs have too few lines and are mirrored.

No mods, no alt interface, I've had it happen on both windowed fullscreen and fullscreen. This bug is old. It was first encountered in 0.8.7 I believe. Multiple people have reported it including myself. Thus it's pretty safe to say that fixing it isn't anywhere close to a priority for WG. And financially speaking it makes sense. Any time and money spent on a fix that only a tiny fraction of the playerbase gets to appreciate and doesn't earn you any returns is a waste. And WG likes to earn money. It's the RTS situation all over again. Truly a shocker how we ended up back here.

Because the enemy CV is usually the furthest target from you it is gonna take you far too long to kill. By the time you finally do the match can already be decided. Due to the ease with which fighters can be deployed to defend yourself against air attack in a CV severe losses are also often inevitable. If you happen to catch a CV close to you however they tend to go down fairly easily assuming you know what you're doing. A CV is a target of opportunity at best. If you happen to have the chance to take one out quickly and efficiently, by all means do it. Otherwise direct your efforts elsewhere unless nothing but the enemy CV remains.

Due to random MM the amount of matches you win/lose by default eventually balances itself out over a large enough sample size, leaving only your individual performance on display. Your sample size is certainly large enough. -

Funnily enough even WG thinks such "harmless chat" is in fact toxic, as such in their eyes this is working as intended. I'm not joking. In WG's eyes what can be taken as an insult WILL be taken as an insult. -

Torps are already pretty decent contrary to popular belief. I see no reason why they should get buffed. If they want to buff Midway, just slap heal on the DBs or sth. Those could actually need it what with them taking the most damage from AA now. Then again if WG had any sense then they wouldn't be buffing Midway in the first place. I mean, if Midway is weak, then what is Audacious?

It's a CV bug. We all know CV bugs don't get fixed. Not back in RTS, not in the rework.

Actually afaik the potential of Ark Royal is quite high, being one of the better T6 CVs around. And if WG were actually capable of learning from their mistakes we wouldn't be dealing with this garbage pile of a rework in the first place. Calling the Ark Royal a "mistake" and hoping that it doesn't get repeated is akin to asking for OP premium CVs. As if tech tree ones weren't excessively powerful enough already.

Judged purely by statistical performance it's Massachusetts afaik. From my own limited experience with her I'd have to agree that she's very powerful indeed, but her guns are incredibly trollish at times.

As TST, PTS and 0.8.0 has shown, yes. It'd be at the expense of every other class however.

That's contradictory. Regardless no halfway competent CV player lets themselves get rushed down and killed by a DD, especially not one lacking torps and speed. -

Somehow I do not believe the op wants to gamble on the enemy CV being incompetent. Friesland is a laughably easy target due to her incredibly small HP pool. -
Given that the first premium CV released after the rework is a gigantic commercial failure and CV player numbers remain down the drain despite dedicated CV missions being available I wouldn't be.

Lets turn that argument around, shall we? The average DD player is incapable of dealing with CVs in any capacity, therefore CVs must be OP. This is just as stupid of an argument as saying that just because the average CV player is incompetent CVs cannot be OP. Because player skill is actually completely irrelevant to balance. Potential of a class matters, not whether a player is capable of utilizing it. Skilled players just represent that potential under actual match conditions, hence why they are relevant to balance whereas the average player is not.

Smolensk AA is terrible and she can literally be dev struck by AP bombs. Atlanta AA is even more terrible and she easily gets murdered by rockets. I'd recommend Jean Bart, although keep in mind that all AA is an annoyance at best nowadays regardless of how strong it is if the CV knows what they're doing.
