Funnily enough this only really applies to the Hakuryu. Even then it can be compensated by a tiny bit of prediction. A surface ship cannot change course nearly as fast as you can adjust. If you can't do it, git gud.

Suggestion: Show the Maximum Amount of Aircraft on the Carriers
El2aZeR replied to ColaholicA's topic in General Discussion
Wrong. In the common 2/3/3 setup 25 of those reserves were fighters that had no damage potential against surface ships. Meanwhile all reserves in the rework are dedicated to striking. That means strike reserves in the rework increased by a staggering 33% for Hakuryu from 75 to ~100. This is even more strike planes than pre-nerf RTS Midway used to get, a carrier that almost couldn't be deplaned despite the stronger AA back in RTS and was subsequently nerfed. So while it is TECHNICALLY untrue that reworked CVs have unlimited planes, with their ridiculous reserves they may as well have. Unless you play "catch the flak" losses are inconsequential at best.- 19 replies

Not really, cross drops still exist and there is not nearly as much RNG.

You cannot escape glorious CV rework. Even in a different game. -
Can CVs be made unreportable? I am tired of being constantly chat banned
El2aZeR replied to Pappus's topic in General Discussion
Well yeah. He's playing CVs. I get reports all the time as well for playing CVs. -
These are mutually exclusive statements. Decide which one is true. Besides, acting like this wasn't possible back during the RTS iteration as well is another blatant lie. In fact because you couldn't change your aiming point after locking in it was by your own standards even more fair back then.
-
Oh yeah. And while we're at it, Conq outperforms Smolensk AA by ~100 DPS.
-
Yeah, it's not like you KNOW that a Shokaku or even Hakuryu can adjust after you as you have previously stated in the CV section of the forums. That'd be lying after all.
-
This is funny because Yamato has (marginally) better AA than Smolensk.

Saipan can in fact kill T10 cruisers with one squad. On average she will need the same amount of attack runs. Point is damage potential of CVs even without AP bombs is vastly too high for their accuracy, survivability and rate of fire. Removing only the AP bombs solves very little.
-
Which is ofc completely irrelevant given the fact that the amount of skilled CV players distributed over all these ships is inevitably going to be a larger number regardless. You've just defeated your own point. Again.
-
Saipan does perfectly fine too, you know? And as far as I've heard so does Kaga and Lex.
-
T8 CVs do perfectly fine in T10 matches. Enterprise cannot be tweaked anymore because premium CV balancing was declared finished months ago. This is why she has been pulled from the store just like Belfast or Giulio Cesare. Also the state of Enterprise was not only left as it is, she got severely buffed due to the extreme incompetence of the average CV player. RN CVs are on the low end of the CV power spectrum. If their torps weren't as good as they are, and they're already pretty mediocre, you may as well remove them.

Nope. Also still waiting for those lawyers the other dude wanted to send.

80% should be doable if I play nothing but CVs.

Italian Cruisers - One Month On (and a bit)
El2aZeR replied to invicta2012's topic in General Discussion
From my limited surface ship experience against them apparently the point of the RM cruiser line is to make cruisers and DDs miserable while being mediocre to downright impotent against BBs. Just what this game needed. -
Again, a combination of kills per match and average damage generally gives a decent indicator, however without hard data from WG it cannot be conclusively proven. On the other hand, we know for a fact that CVs are at the very least capable of putting out the highest effective damage. This can easily be seen by the avg frag value when adjusting for top 10% or 5% of players and is in line with top player experience. Therefore it can be extrapolated from that that the damage CVs put out is in fact more effective. Actually I've seen comebacks from the most ridiculous positions, thus this holds more value that most people might think.
-
Oh, the guns are perfectly fine. She's trolled me often enough on accuracy tho even in the few battles I played her.
-
I mean, she is tho? She has terrible USN BB dispersion without any accuracy mod along with terrible 1.7 sigma. Alabama gets 1.9, NC 2.0. That objectively puts her among the T8 BBs with the most terrible accuracy. And I believe once the Germans get USN BB dispersion that'd make her the most inaccurate BB at T8 outright.
-
Ahhh, I misread that entirely. My bad. Actually only adding the T7 number will drag down the stats due to its naturally lower value. If you do the same experiment with T8+9+10 vs T8+10 the averages equal out. The starting and end points need to be the same, what happens in between is irrelevant in the calculation. However ironically that is not the case this week. Wanna know why? Ofc on the other hand this makes this week's overall data a bit unreliable, though certain aspects are ofc still accurate. (As to why these appear this week, apparently maplesyrup adds data in retrospect when a previously hidden account is made visible again.) I generally disagree however that the overall data is non-telling. Clear trends can be made out which would continue regardless of whether odd tiers exist or not. It would be preposterous to assume e.g. that CVs wouldn't have a high KPM, spotting and/or base defense value if odd tier CVs were still to exist for obvious reasons. In fact I'd say that average damage is the only stat that this calls into question, which is already in jeopardy anyway due to the incompetence of the average CV player.

Even on that front I can ruin your day: -
Yes. They are however inaccessible. You can grind them, you cannot mount them. As per official statement legendary modules in general are not being worked on and won't be in the near future.
-
Trying to present false data by deliberately cutting off a dataset where it is convenient. And you want people to stop accusing you of lying LOL. Lets pick the complete dataset, shall we? The total amount of CV battles played last week was 34664 battles, which means at most 17332 battles had CVs in them. Of that 3522 matches were played by the top 100 CV players. That means in a CV match there was a ~20% chance of at least one of them being competent. If you were interested in only the top 10 players on high tier CVs, then that adds 657 battles played by the top 10 players of Midway, Audacious and Hakuryu respectively, on top of the 1488 I previously pulled for a total of 2145 battles. This, again, represents a ~12% chance that in a high tier CV battle you're going to have at least one extremely dominant CV player in the match. Also whether that CV is on your team or not is irrelevant because guess what, the people on the other team are going to have their match ruined. Unless you want to take the egoistical route and say only your own feelings matter, at which point everything you say becomes completely irrelevant. Not that it wasn't already ofc. Besides, wanna know what completely eliminates the chance of detonations? A flag. The mechanic despite its rarity is deemed so frustrating that there is a way to completely eliminate it. In fact it is given to you when it does happen. There is no such thing against CVs. To put detonations and CVs on the same pedestal is an argument for the removal of CVs, not against it.
