    Should be 3D like all splash damage. AA gun HP was severely buffed during the rework. There is really nothing you can do on that end tbh.

    Again, no. Indomitable is far from finished. She was last tested in 0.8.3 or 0.8.4 I believe and we haven't heard anything about her since. And she was horrid. If she were to be released as she was she'd easily become the worst T8 CV by far. I agree that removal is unlikely but so is serious further development. It simply doesn't pay off.

    Wouldn't be too sure about that. Ark Royal has sold extremely poorly according to her battle numbers and Indomitable has been in dev hell since literally the beginning of the rework. Thus even WG should be aware by now that the rework isn't profitable enough to continue developing in its current iteration.

    Ofc a comparison is valid. It just cannot be objectively done with average stats due to the aforementioned reasons. It practically has to be done with experiments. Therefore average damage is inconclusive. Even if the playerbase were the same in terms of skill, RTS would inevitably pull ahead because of auto drop. This is easily proven by the lowest damage numbers recorded which are severely worse for reworked CVs. Spotting is likewise questionable because multiple CVs can be assigned to each team now, all of whom will be competing for spotting. This basically makes the low tier spotting numbers unusable due to the overabundance of multi CV matches there. Even with the high tier numbers I would be skeptical. I have no doubt that RTS CVs on an individual basis do in fact have the higher spotting potential however based on mechanics alone, but on the other hand CV spotting was also something that could be denied back then. Then there are things that simply do not appear in stats but are extremely important such as team integration and counterplay. Here RTS CVs were indisputably better (although ofc far from perfect), something easily proven via simple mechanics comparison.

    Even average stats show that reworked CVs are by far the better base defenders. Hardly surprising considering that in base defense rate of fire matters, in which reworked CVs vastly outclass RTS ones. Any comparison with average data has absolutely no meaning anyway due to the fundamental differences in both playerbase and some mechanics. E.g. RTS CVs had automated damage output in the form of auto drop, requiring practically no input from the player to make a halfway accurate attack. Inevitably that means RTS is going to have the higher avg dmg value regardless of whether the damage potential is the same or not simply because terrible RTS players couldn't fall below a certain damage threshold without being afk. This is not the case with reworked CVs. Also the "flat earther" argument can be turned around on you as well you know? You have done no statistical analysis whatsoever but instead prefer to blindly point towards stats without any interpretation, which is practically equal to "lol from what I can see the earth is flat, so it must be flat". You see and you judge. You do nothing in between.

    Except this isn't a comparison. Without the previous CV economy adjustments everyone else would still have earned the same amount, aka they're static values. The only variable is how much the CV earns which previously would have exceeded the earnings of the lower half of the team by a static value of 10%. Therefore the base exp modifiers of CVs or any other class are completely irrelevant and have nothing to do with what is being discussed.

    How many CV players were capable of strafing? How many even knew exit strafing existed? And how many of those could counterstrafe? Meanwhile flak exists pretty much everywhere, meaning bad CV players get shut down everywhere. Therefore the RTS iteration was objectively superior even when viewed from a simplistic quantity basis. A nitpick is just that. It's irrelevant. Besides, the removal of effective fighter play isn't exactly a nerf to CVs. In fact it actually buffs their potential overall to the severe detriment of surface ships. It's an utter and complete design failure. To construe this as something positive is hilariously ignorant at best.

    This somehow implies that in the rework the far worse CV player does not get shut down which is ofc blatantly untrue. In fact the rework is far worse in this aspect. And ofc you fail to mention that flexibility of CVs dramatically increased with the rework.

    This is like saying "Because there is no vaccine to every deadly disease vaccines are useless". Just because no such game is completely perfectly balanced that is no excuse to let a mechanic be both blatantly imbalanced and broken, especially after a total rework which was supposed to fix the issues and not create them. Yeah, it's not like they outright lied to make it seem that the rework has wide community acceptance. Oh wait. Also F key spam, along with literally every other gamebreaking issue, wasn't fixed via community request. If that had been the case it would've gotten fixed in PTS latest as it was well known even before that. During RTS GZ balancing the players who actually wanted a balanced iteration were outright told to off by WG because that didn't line up with their own views. The examples you brought up conclusively prove that WG doesn't care about anything but their own views and as such decisively contradict your point. Again. As for improvements, WG themselves have proven that any cutdown of CV potential to a level even close to acceptable for their massive potential leads to the extinction of the class, which once again goes to show that the rework is fundamentally broken and a complete design failure. That is impossible to change within its boundaries.

    I seem to remember an official video where S_O (or another WG dev) explained how the game overall is balanced as well. For the life of me I can't find it anymore tho. The creation of such a value is a very good idea indeed (assuming at least halfway thoughtful weighting of the values). The issue however is that WG divides the playerbase into percentages which naturally throws global playerbase differences under the rug. If e.g. on average an RTS CV player was, say, 20% more skilled than a rework CV player, then naturally the rework will appear to be a lot less influential even if both rework and RTS were actually equal. This was horrendously apparent in the balancing of the Enterprise. For the longest time I was literally the only skilled CV player playing her. The difference between me and the next few players on the leaderboard was ludicrous, but because WG divides the playerbase into percentages we were all thrown into the top percentages. Thus WG got the impression that the Enterprise is extremely weak even among top players when in reality she was incredibly strong. The result is the perhaps most ludicrously overpowered premium ship to date. Hence why I would take WG statements on balancing with AT LEAST a healthy dose of skepticism. They've already proven that their system can fail extremely hard.
  20. The way to beat plane waves like the one demonstrated above is to bring a lot of CVs and launch your own air strike at the same time btw to cut them down with fighters. Extreme AA helps but will not be enough. Just for future reference.

  25. Which meant NOT attacking quite a number of targets. In the rework it barely matters which targets you attack, all of them can be struck for negligible losses. Auto drop. Go to wows-numbers. Go to Midway leaderboards. Filter for average damage. Go to the last page. There is your answer.
