  1. Well ofc, but that just means you're off to kill another ship. Nothing of importance lost for the CV, really while the DD was forced to waste a smoke. CV wins regardless. No, but given that the only way to definitively solve anything is to scrap the entire rework, something extremely unlikely, I'm fine with small steps.
  2. If something else happens to have priority, then why would a DD need to smoke? Again, there are plenty of other indicators of DD positioning. Given that DDs have no defense whatsoever against air attacks you don't want to concede even such a small thing? Yes, and even then the DD still gets hit. Nothing prevents the CV from simply killing said AA ship either. Plane losses are inconsequential given the vast reserves even low tier CVs can field.
  3. Why wouldn't they? It's an easy kill on an already trapped enemy. And why would removing that somehow make DDs "immune" to air strikes? No you don't. Previously a DD within 8km of a strong AA ship could not be attacked. Now a DD needs to be within 3.5km of a strong AA ship because long range AA in general is hilariously weak and will still get hit. Or the DD could just defend itself with DFAA which nowadays is completely useless. You must be joking.
  4. In most situations the DD smokes up, smoke runs out then the DD dies or is forced to smoke up again. Repeat until the DD is dead. The CV is free to pursue other targets in the meantime, as such no time is wasted. If the DD leaves smoke prematurely they are guaranteed to die. Wat. The idea is to remove the detection indicator, not air detection. The only reason why good DD players still can have good matches is due to the incredible incompetence of the average CV playerbase. Unless said DD happened to be within 8km of an AA ship. Or one of those with DFAA. Then your squads died. And no, it is super easy to kill DDs with CVs now. In fact kill time against pretty much all ships but BBs has either remained the same or is faster in the rework due to a vastly higher RoF.

    Pretty sure the queue display is broken. It still takes me well over a minute to find a match despite supposedly hundreds of people in queue. In fact it will even display hundreds of people in queue at ludicrous times such as 4 in the morning which seems improbable at best.
  7. In the grand majority of situations, no. There are plenty of other indicators of DD presence, from caps, smokes, torpedoes, callouts from teammates (which do happen quite often in my experience) over team spotting to even just mirroring the position of your own DDs on the minimap. Finding DDs isn't that difficult to begin with, the detection indicator just makes it even more easy. Smoke is temporary safety, not permanent. And it is flimsy at best. Staying within meaningful AA automatically means a DD is being completely useless, as such the CV wins here regardless. Besides, a CV can just murder the AA formation since AA is worthless nowadays anyway. Most CVs cannot accomplish anything due to sheer incompetence, that is true.
  8. Now think about that there were cruisers which had long range stealth AA powerful enough to wipe out squads in seconds, aka they could deny spotting, allowing DDs to have much more leeway. Not to mention that quite a few DDs could become incredible AA platforms by themselves. Among quite a host of other things. Such as far more limited reserves, AA in general being far more effective, planes being slower, long service times, etc. Spouting half truths and leaving out important details that completely contradict your narrative as always I see.
  9. Because basic map awareness is too much to ask for. One can only imagine how people played during RTS where there was no such indicator. To even insinuate that DDs will somehow be incredibly hard to find without the detection indicator is laughable at best. Except a CV cannot be caught. A CV can only be incompetent. In one of my last Shokaku matches I got spotted by an Akizuki, immediately deduced where he was coming from and sent my CV in the opposite direction, casually spent the next minute murdering a BB and only then launched rockets to dispatch the pesky annoyance. Because that's all a DD within detection range of your CV can ever be. You're practically never in danger of dying. Challenging a CV at mid-close range is foolish especially in a DD due to their incredible tankiness against DoT and extreme damage output. Meanwhile I also recently observed an enemy CV which had a friendly Asashio literally right next to him. He didn't take any countermeasures and proceeded to just strike other teammates. Even more astounding is that my Asashio teammate failed 2 out of 3 torp runs. Despite that the enemy CV continued to ignore him. This is the level of incompetence we're talking about.

    From what I've seen Indomitable is utterly powerless, having mediocre rockets and bombs that are only really effective against DDs and some cruisers/BBs. This means she is literally powerless against a good chunk of ships she will inevitably encounter beyond DoT, resulting in extremely low match impact. The planes while individually tanky have terrible squad health due to low numbers. She can't take any losses either due to low deck reserves and regen times. The only positive thing about her is the fast speed. As such Indomitable is currently the outright worst T8 CV. You could probably even downtier her to T6, adjust the plane health a little and she'd be just fine.

    AA build dds vs planes?

    Gearing AA is equivalent to T6. Grozovoi AA is equivalent to T5-6. Therefore no matter how much AA you stack, it's gonna be futile unless the enemy CV is potato, but then you don't need an AA build. Praised be the rework.
  13. German BBs were too popular once upon a time and AP bombs got introduced as a kind of "population control" so to speak. Nowadays though German BBs are ironically among the more difficult BBs to citadel due to their relatively smaller citadel size as AP bomb vulnerability is shared by the majority of BBs now.

    Less than 150€ total I think. Another 50€ or so on the CN server. Nothing on EU since 2019.

    Oh yeah, there's tons I'd like to see. Personally I believe that a USN CV line without an Essex in any form is a horrendous travesty. However I just don't see it happening. It appears that for a premium CV to be economically viable (aka popular) it needs to be both overpowered and easy to play, which is a combination that has already proven disastrous.
