    Yeah, no. DPS actually didn't exist, meaning that WG actually thought that players would not be able to avoid flak. So the very basis of the design was already fundamentally flawed. If you make AA too strong then CVs are useless. If you make it too weak then CVs become overpowered. It's a design that can only have a binary outcome. There is no middle ground because reworked CVs only have a singular role.
  3. Lots of tier based F2P games actually use this model. And yes, it is in perfectly fact legal. Being able to play the game for free doesn't mean you're entitled to spam T10 matches all the time. Although you could do exactly that if you use various means of economy benefits which are given out for free or alternatively just git gud.

  5. Your damage distribution is terrible, hence why you lost money. If you want high income you need to hunt DDs. The economy in WoWs rewards percentage of damage dealt, not actual damage. Doing 10k damage to a DD, equaling 50% of its health, is therefore much more profitable than doing 10k damage to a BB, equaling 10% of its health.

    I could supply you with that queue times are generally much faster than they were during RTS even during off hours. Overextending in queue has become much more rare. For population data you can just head over to maplesyrup. There are also actual percentages of encounter rate for the various tiers supplied by S_O flying around somewhere though obviously these are kinda useless without the encounter rates for RTS to compare them to.

    Doesn't it? Quick example: In example 1 I have to wait 3 mins for a match, then requeue, then wait another 3 mins, etc. In example 2 I have to wait 1 min for a match, then requeue, then wait another 1 min, etc. Which of these examples leads to a higher number of battles played? Queue time is inexplicably linked to the number of CV battles played. There is indeed a point in which cutting down tiers gives diminishing returns, however this required a population that simply wasn't given during RTS.

    Oh right. Well to cut that off, assuming for simplicity's sake SR is always active and the aircraft always stay inside of it (which as we all know is hogwash) that's still 4,5 mins with close range DPS and 7,6 mins of AA exposure. To compensate for the fact that SR isn't always active but also the instant damage, lets just add 30s to each figure, so 5 and 8,1 mins respectively. Yeah. Sounds extremely plausible amirite?

    Besides the basic logic demonstrated above and ofc experiences both my own and otherwise with RTS CV queue and post-rework CV encounter rate I do not have any actual hard data.     Now, lets put some math into this shall we @Beastofwar? An Ognevoi with BFT is capable of putting out a combined 98 DPS. Air armor skill, which I will assume you have (or do you? Last I checked you believed it was more important to skill AA rather than plane survivability) reduces that to 88 DPS. This means to deplete the stated total of 35700 HP you need to expose yourself for almost 7 minutes continuously without doing anything but flying overhead inside the close range DPS. But it gets even better. The almost half of the DPS an Ognevoi possesses is in its close range mounts which are thoroughly neglectable as exposure to close range AA in any plane type is short. Without the close range DPS an Ognevoi puts out only 52 DPS, requiring over 11 minutes to deplete the aforementioned HP. This is well over half of the total match time. You are therefore blatantly lying and either used fighters to inflate plane losses or flew straight into flak.

    You do not need to slingshot to avoid flak entirely no matter the concentration. Which was never the intended goal of it anyway. Slingshot is a measure to avoid DPS. It's also an officially sanctioned mechanic.

    Because the CV is the target that's usually furthest away from you, leading to terrible strike efficiency. CVs also have a dedicated CAP which almost guarantees that only a single strike goes through (if you haven't noticed yet, the CV CAP is far more effective than any catapult fighter). Against the base AA only it is in fact possible to make multiple runs on a CV with negligible losses. And even then if a direct sniping duel is forced CVs go down rather fast to air attack if it comes down to it. Your point is therefore not only completely irrelevant, it proves exactly the opposite of what your narrative states. Destroyed multiple Georgia's, JBs, Montanas, DMs, Minotaurs, Worcesters, etc. with my Midway today. Most of them even in the same match. Had literally no impact on reserves. I did actually calculate in the aircraft armor skill, not the attack defense bonus tho. The latter however is imo a bit moot as it only applies to the attacking wing which gets destroyed last anyway, not the whole squad.

    Well aware. What I meant is that I calculated everything with the full combined DPS as I didn't feel like putting in the effort of dividing time spent in which auras. In any real match scenario aircraft will obviously not spend their entire time in the full combined DPS of a ship, but only a small fraction of it as they pass the close range aura with rockets and TBs enjoying a far shorter exposure than DBs.

    Auto target mechanics are even worse as they are inherently impossible to balance. On the contrary they're overpowered. Teamwork doesn't do anything against them.

    Reworked CVs are basically missile boats now as they practically evolved from that concept. Actual missiles were tested but scrapped as the concept was deemed unworkable.

    No it isn't as having your main battery broken is far worse than losing a couple of 2ndary or AA mounts. That is not a choice, it is a noob trap. Which is why so many useless modules and skills exist, huh?

    If it weren't for new and totally balans glorious stalinium shells I'd agree on some ships. Not all of them though. There are quite a few BBs that can frequently have their turrets disabled or even broken even from frontal penetrations. This is because the armor scheme and shell penetration is largely historical, but combat distances are not.

    Which just proves one thing: CVs will only ever be popular if they're completely, utterly broken AND laughably easy to play as they are at T4. Popularity however doesn't determine whether something is overpowered and is therefore completely beside the point. However it does tie into the point below: Better question, why would WG continue to sink money into a failed concept? The history of the rework more than proves that reworked CVs will not be popular without being gamebreakingly easy to play. The current state as such is WG cutting their losses and abandoning the rework. Will they actually admit that? Ofc not. They will ofc continue to make claims that the current state of CVs is fine, which in itself is contradictory to statements about needing to maintain CV population even if that means CVs become overpowered. And if you haven't noticed, the rework clearly does not work well for the majority of players hence why reworked CVs are as unpopular as they are in pretty much every aspect, be it population, playability, player satisfaction, and so on. It's just that WG will no longer invest any money into changing that as it is futile to begin with.

    So given that surface ships could previously help their CV win fighter matches or just generally deny the enemy CV (you know, hence why AA + CV divs worked so well, unless you wanna dispute that?) while now what the CV does relies solely on the CV player themselves with no influence on part of anyone else whatsoever, that means according to your own definition the skill gap in the rework actually isn't okay?
