Something you ofc have a wonderful history of doing. Hypocrisy much? But if you want to get back on topic, that's fine too. Prove to us that my math is wrong and that an AA specialization has actual impact without having to rely on the enemy CV being incompetent. We're waiting.

Narai Op. come in 2020 bugged
El2aZeR replied to SEN_SEN_Channel_Portugue's topic in General Discussion
Bots use auto pilot. It becomes painfully obvious if a bot gets close to the map border. Instead of riding it to finish a turn, they start reversing away from it regardless of angle of approach just like the "new and improved" auto pilot would. Thus in extension you could blame the CV rework for this. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -
[CV] Wrong threshold for damage caused / negative income
El2aZeR replied to StanleyHTweedle's topic in General Discussion
Which ofc is highly believable when you do not even know the definition of "F2P". Hint: It is not that all ingame content is free. -
Which are long outdated as total stats span multiple iterations. As of 0.8.7 I'm well above 80%. Wrong. Bad players have reached new lows and there are far more of them out there now. There is no need to shut down bad players, bad players shut themselves down. The status quo hasn't changed. Except it is not. Please point towards a balancing example where skilled play was not considered whereas average play was. Shouldn't be any trouble if it is "self evident", no?
-
Which given that such an option in settings doesn't exist is ofc highly believable. Since none of us have ever heard of such an option, perhaps give us a screenshot to highlight it? Sure I would if he were actually better. I'm under no illusion where I stand with my own skill as I'm not averse to statistical facts after all. Which btw show me that I have occupied top spots on the high tier CV leaderboard for several months in a row at this point. If that doesn't cement my status as one of the best CV players on this server, and as such naturally have very few if any players better than me, then I'd be very curious to know what will?

Which I suppose is the reason you've been holding out on those replays we requested?

Getting your first Tier X ship for Coal
El2aZeR replied to invicta2012's topic in General Discussion
(Sadly) No, but it's unlikely you're gonna have an enjoyable time there if you like to win or stay alive for more than a couple of mins. Higher tiers are more unforgiving than lower tiers. Though tbh I am a bit amazed that you still don't have a T10 yet with almost 11,5k battles played. -
Teir IX vs X coal/steel ships for credits. Which is better ?
El2aZeR replied to D7v's topic in General Discussion
Frankly? Pick a ship you'd enjoy playing. Any premium ship makes a good amount of credits over time, forcing yourself to play a ship you hate just to earn credits on the other hand gets old quickly.- 21 replies

Aha. So based on that logic I guess I can just dismiss your opinion on CVs in random battles entirely as I am statistically proven to be the superior CV player?

Have fun suing a good chunk of F2P games out there then. It'd at least be amusing to see you try. -

Except Audacious is in fact the worst performing T10 CV by far in both ranked and randoms. And RN CVs in general are simply underperforming in comparison to their contemporaries. I also fail to see why your performance of 1 kill per match is anything special, not to mention your rather average WR. Other CV players were certainly capable of pushing 70%+ WR in both Midway and Haku with a lot more than one paltry kill per match. Audacious is the one T10 CV which doesn't have that. Care to give an explanation?. Just like I wasn't in any ranked season since 2016. Why that matters is beyond me.
-
Scrapping the entire thing and starting anew. The problem with reworked CVs are its core fundamentals which naturally cannot be changed without it becoming something entirely different, therefore there is no other choice.
-
Midway buff is already live. It's hilarious but hasn't managed to dethrone Haku. USN is your general purpose CV line which does well in every situation but excels in few. They're also more forgiving to play. IJN is more specialized and as such requires more skill, but is also more impactful. If you're looking for maximum impact, IJN is the way to go. If you're looking for a more comfy gameplay experience, USN will do just fine.

Well, if you're talking about active involvement, presetting the sector and using DFAA worked mostly towards the outcome you desired. CVs were usually able to drop you a single time under heavy losses. Though what I meant is that within the current boundaries it is not possible to reach a satisfactory solution for both CV and surface ship players. The current design of active gameplay vs automatic defense along with giving CVs only a singular purpose in damage dealing is unworkable. Any kind of reliable counterplay runs contrary to the rework's core design as, again, demonstrated by the above already caused population to plummet below RTS levels.
-
It isn't. Reworked CV gameplay fails the moment you introduce such counterplay as proven by patch 0.8.5.

[CV] Wrong threshold for damage caused / negative income
El2aZeR replied to StanleyHTweedle's topic in General Discussion
As per official statement, yes it is. -
Which given the present encounter rate is going to be pretty much no one, leading to a terrible gameplay experience. And again, RTS was a different concept which allowed counterplay. It's not comparable.
-
At which point the gameplay concept of multiple attacks per squad in itself becomes a failure. And as such the CV rework itself in extension. We kinda had this during 0.8.5 and while it was undoubtedly more balanced, it also made the population plummet to new lows.
-
There are two things to consider when striking a top tier ship in a bottom tier CV: 1. What ship is it and how much AA does it have? Pretty basic, some T8 ships have marginally better AA than T6 ships. Striking them should be no issue. Others have substantially more, if that is the case 2. What measures are available to minimize plane losses? Slingshot, using islands as cover, shortening your squad, etc. are all viable options to inflict maximum damage with minimal attrition. Though ofc that's assuming you have already learned the basics such as dodging flak.

[CV] Wrong threshold for damage caused / negative income

Same here. Why should there be a general urge to constantly spam high tiers? -
[CV] Wrong threshold for damage caused / negative income
El2aZeR replied to StanleyHTweedle's topic in General Discussion
Why? Unless you feel the overwhelming need to constantly play high tiers, which is solely on you, there is no need to buy anything at all. Want to take out your T10 ship for a spin? Grind the money for it with a couple of T6 matches. Or alternatively git gud. The economy right now is far too forgiving as is. -
It is, because CVs have no other role left other than dealing damage. RTS CVs had other tasks such as spotting and air denial. Now we can argue whether this was actually healthy or not but that's beside the point. This is why it was fine that their striking potential could be completely shut down. It also worked in terms of gameplay as you were busy micromanaging multiple squads even if you weren't directly engaging the enemy. Reworked CVs meanwhile immediately become boring or frustrating to play the very moment surface ships can counter them in a even remotely reliable fashion simply because they are designed to do nothing but deal damage. Therefore if surface ships could reliably counter reworked CVs, they fail as a gameplay concept. If surface ships cannot counter them, then they are overpowered. There is no middle ground because it is literally designed to not exist. Most successful multiplayer games stick to a core concept and do not do major alterations to it at all.
-
The reason why I make up such theories is because I know the population data. CV population in high tiers has negligibly changed up until recently (which likely has more to do with the PR grind than anything else as we saw the same thing during e.g. the Graf Spee grind), while in low tiers CVs were less popular up until 0.8.7 when T4 CVs were buffed to be a seal clubber's wet dream. Thus the reason we encounter more CVs than before at least in high tiers must lie elsewhere. In fact we recently had a thread on it here: https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/129066-cv-rework-2019-in-graphs-and-where-we-are-right-now/

Again, if you want simple population data then head over to maplesyrup.
