  1. Probably because a CV already has the advantage in speed, flexibility, scouting, sustain and every other relevant category. These should require suitable disadvantages to balance them out. So the better question would be why they should be allowed to attack surface ships at all times for minimal and inconsequential losses despite already having so many advantages over them?

    There are certain spawns which just outright prevent you from moving with the auto pilot, the one on Neighbours where you spawn top side with your side to the island being the most prominent one. Apparently WG is aware and "working on it". Auto pilot in general has become extremely unreliable ever since they "improved" it several patches ago.

  4. Smolensk has about as much AA as a Zao. And again, you're shafting yourself by playing RN CVs.
  5. Smolensk is by far one of the easiest targets you can ask for even without AP DBs (assuming you're not playing RN CVs, but if you're playing RN CVs you kinda lose by default to begin with). It has nothing for AA, you can hurt it with rockets and bombs pretty much everywhere and it has nothing for TDS. Pick either of your plane types and you should have no issues.
  6. Bwahahahaha You actually believe that? Cruisers are the class with the 2nd worst AA DPS, the least utility and overall even the least resilience against CV ordinance. DDs at least only have to fear rockets and HE bombs while cruisers just get killed by everything. No, if you want AA you play BBs, end of story. As a self proclaimed BB player that naturally plays in your favor. You have the highest flexibility in the entire game along with the power to wipe out entire flanks by yourself. If a game cannot be carried by a CV, it is impossible to do in any other class as well.

    Ist das den wirklich so? Denn bekanntermaßen versagt der Durchschnittsspieler in jedem Schiff egal wie stark es ist. Damit lässt sich praktisch alles rechtfertigen. Solange der CV keine Kartoffel ist, was zugegebenermaßen recht selten ist, wird das nichts mit den "schmerzlichen Verlusten".

    Division play naturally skews statistics upwards when done by skilled players, falsifying the data. Even including a single unicum player two 50% WR players can improve by as much as 25% in performance. Thus only solo stats are relevant. WR in average stats is irrelevant as classes are mirrored, thus the only thing average WR shows is the performance of an individual ship against other ships of the same class. It says nothing about its performance against other classes. It's the flash interface on maplesyrup which uses weekly snapshots that are naturally more accurate than wows-numbers as they represent the current state of play rather than including outdated stats from 1 year ago as wows-numbers does.

    If you're open water DM'ing you could also look into Yuro's meme spotterplane build: Although that has likely become way more hazardous due to the overabundance of 30mm overmatch capable BBs. (Also adjust the build a bit. It's obviously outdated.)

    So how many times do people have to tell you that wows-numbers is inaccurate? Rework snapshot last week: Latest RTS snapshot January 2019: Same avg dmg, same kpm, less planes, (double the caps wth,) more cap defense, higher survival and same spotting.
  12. Yes ofc, but that only affects encounter rate, not player numbers. They're actually at the very top when you start separating premium ships from tech tree ones. The only ones contesting them are Conqueror, which doesn't have nearly as high of a damage efficiency, and Goliath, which has unstable stats due to being the shiny new thing. I hope I don't need to explain to you why differentiating between premium ships and tech tree ones is important when it comes to stats? Quite literally the only reason why the older ones did better is due to skill differences in population rather than their inherent potential. This can easily be seen by comparing top player stats in contrast to average/bad player ones.

  14. I mean, that wasn't exactly any different back then? Or did you miss all the auto dropping potatoes that you could basically just make non-existent by using WASD a bit? Fact is potato CV players weren't relevant to the discussion then and thus shouldn't be now. Something you're ironically demonstrating by saying "omg RTS CVs could just delete BBs with a single drop" which naturally implies that the CV player in question was actually halfway competent at least.

    You do realize you can just filter for solo stats and specific ships rather than overall stats, right? Then go ahead and demonstrate how WASD works against you. And no, you messing up doesn't count just in case you're tempted to do so deliberately. wows-numbers shows total stats, not recent stats. It is therefore inaccurate as it includes outdated information. As you can see, CVs are not only in the top half but among the top damage dealers at T8+.

    This is funny given that I started playing Shokaku in 0.8.5 and did perfectly fine. I did. CVs are currently even with RTS stats and take top spots across the board at T8+.

    Ahahahaha You don't realize you have just soundly defeated yourself, don't you? Here's the deal. If you start actually analyzing stats instead of taking them at face value you'd realize that pretty much all of the top 1% Montana stats with a sufficient sample size are played in divisions which naturally inflate WR. Performance typically drops by roughly 5-10% when filtered for solo stats. Also even the player with the highest damage efficiency falls far behind that of top CV players. Conclusion? A solo top CV player is about as influential as a full on unicum div in other classes. Thanks for making our point I suppose. Did you think you were the first one to come up with the "top players all perform the same in stats" stuff? Except apparently even what can be considered adequate losses against AA ships and/or groups are seemingly too much to bear. I seem to remember someone saying that CVs are unplayable and demanding a refund despite CVs being perfectly playable and actually more balanced than ever before. Said someone also blatantly lied about the patch he was complaining about creating no fly zones which even mathematically wasn't possible as the patch did nothing but change the damage distribution meaning that if you got a strike through before the patch, you'd still get a strike through after the patch. Can you guess who that someone is? It would be largely fine if CVs would get a single strike through but severely pay for it in planes if said target happens to be an AA ship or has AA cover available. To say that isn't the case currently would be a hilarious understatement.

    7-11k is pretty common depending on rocket type used and target. T8 and T10 CVs are currently the best tech tree damage dealers around with the sole exceptions of Conqueror, which doesn't get nearly as much efficiency, and Goliath which due to being new has unstable stats. Wrong. They did not remove the extremes, they made AA outright weaker. Basic demonstration: But yeah, it's not like you've been told this several times already. I doubt it's gonna stick this time either. Wrong again. Against BBs you have the option to use cover, concealment, range and maneuverability to completely negate the damage. There is no such thing against CVs. You do realize you're deep in contradictions at this point? - As already proven if a ship had worthless AA in RTS it still has worthless AA in the rework. You also reaffirm that no fly zones no longer exist. This means AA is overall weaker, thus grouping is also weaker. Therefore a group which could defend itself back then cannot defend itself anymore now, yet according to you it can? - You disliked staying in the general vicinity of a single teammate (depending on ship up to within 8km) but now prefer to stay in close formation now (within 2km as long range AA cover is worthless) which is far more limiting in literally every aspect?

    In all test iterations we've seen extensive footage of so far subs have basically been free kills for CVs.

    Yeah, okay. Do try to read up on the conversation if you're going to randomly jump into it. The ability to always being able to choose whether to engage a target or not is not an advantage. Okay then lul. The advantages of other classes are balanced out by their individual weaknesses. Reworked CVs meanwhile combine their own inherent strengths with the various strengths of surface ships with no trade-off whatsoever. I would love to know what "smart moves" there are to avoid first strikes that doesn't rely on RNG. Defensive consumables are proven to be worthless in denying a first strike or alternatively curtail your own effectiveness to a much greater degree than it impacts the CV in case of smoke. Grouping and stacking AA is proven to be worthless unless taken to such a degree that all map control is lost. In either situation the CV wins. It's rather suspicious that you leave out grouping as a counterplay option during RTS. It's almost as if you do not want to admit that RTS had both more and more effective counterplay options against CVs.

    In general AA is based on line of sight. If a ship has a direct line of sight to your planes, it's AA will shoot at you even if the majority of the ship is covered behind cover. If it doesn't then AA cannot shoot at you at all even if parts of the ship are sticking out behind cover.

    Well yes, perhaps because Nagato has better AA than the grand majority of DDs and no need to shut it off? Aka the CV alone dictates the engagement, presenting them with a massive advantage. That should be rather obvious. WoWs is a team-based game with an asymmetric role distribution among classes. The only viable way to balance such a game is via individual or team-based counterplay. Currently CVs have neither.
