CVs are capable of easily smashing through 4 ship formations, so blobbing was actually a terrible strategy as it allows the enemy to establish crossfires and trade off way more HP. Smoking likewise wasn't mandatory at all, in fact due to the immense recon value of a CV ships would often get caught out before they could even reach a smoke position and once inside smoke they just made their other ships take excessive focus. Heck we didn't even bring a DD with smoke and just relied on the fact that most CV players even in the upper echelons are mediocre at best. Like the last CB this one has done nothing more than prove that CVs are terrible for competitive gameplay and should be kept out indefinitely. Something WG obviously won't do as it would be akin to admitting that the rework has failed. T9 + T8 CV would be an even bigger disaster as T9 AA is generally much worse than T10 AA and doesn't improve all that much over T8, making the CV even more excessively powerful as they meanwhile aren't actually that much worse than their T10 counterparts.

But how can this be? WG says CVs are perfectly balanced now, so facing 2 CVs must be no different than facing 2 BBs, cruisers or DDs.

Which quite frankly is the reason the current concept of German CVs can only end in disaster. Current CV play relies on being able to equally kill every class. This is e.g. why a CV like the Enterprise is as strong as she is and why a CV like Indomitable is extremely weak in comparison. The Enterprise has extreme utility against DDs, cruisers and BBs alike, meaning that no matter what she comes up against she'll be able to kill it in short order. The Indomitable meanwhile only really has utility against BBs which isn't even all that great. The loss of anti-DD and anti-cruiser utility is thus not being compensated by extreme striking power against BBs which would be needed to remain competitive. Enter German CVs. At high tiers these will supposedly have AP rockets AND AP bombs. Unless they are capable of easily and reliably cross dropping DDs with their TBs, something that I cannot imagine being the case, that means they're going to need increased potential against cruisers and/or BBs to remain competitive. If that isn't a given German CVs instantly become worthless as their contemporaries are simply better, but if it IS given German CVs will become a complete dumpster fire and utterly miserable to play against in cruisers and/or BBs, far more so than CVs already are. This is the same situation we've had previously in RTS with AP bombs. To compensate their lack of utility against DDs and some BBs, an RTS AP DB strike was capable of instantly killing most cruisers and certain BBs. AP bombs needed this kind of power because otherwise they'd just be straight up inferior to HE bombs in every way, which is why AP bombs were a terrible concept and should have never gotten implemented. What really happens when doing that is usually players quitting to play altogether as people typically do not enjoy playing something they do not want to play. And this has nothing to do with your original point. Fact remains CVs are the least played class by far. Not having a CV player available is a far more likely concern in contrast to any other class, aka CVs are the exception and not the rule.

Me: Hitting a Kremlin and 2x Salem in tight formation for hilarious damage. Enemy CV: Gets gunned down by my teammate in a Smaland over several minutes, dealt a total of 7k damage to him. Skill gap is fixed kek.

High tier Italians are decent for self defense thanks to a combination of decent DPS, smoke and fighter plane. Worcester and Minotaur have among the best DPS values in the game. -

Rocket and TB slingshot hasn't changed. DB slingshot has been nerfed but can still be used.

Then one only needs to eliminate that factor. E.g. Stalingrad is a ship which in addition to being powerful has inflated stats due to the fact that its playerbase is on average more skilled. Despite that Haku and Midway pull roughly equal numbers on average, something no other tech tree ship can do. In fact the next best ship to pull numbers close to that is... Audacious.

Oh yeah, I feel you. Couldn't even be bothered to grind past rank 7 because being able to all over everyone gets boring real fast. And ofc I'd rather not be the one getting on so that's not an option either for variety.

AA wurde mit 0.8.7 praktisch komplett vernichtet. Lexington hat im rework schon immer "nur" 3 torps per strike abgeworfen. Diese zählen zu den besten TBs im Spiel. KA warum du dich über die beschwerst. Die 4x TBs der Haku waren nach dem (vollkommen gerechtfertigten) nerf sowieso nutzlos und die 2x Option ist auch heute noch extrem stark. Keine einzige Bombe wurde im damage generft. Die verschiedenen torp damage nerfs waren zu der Zeit des Videos schon längst Schnee von gestern (mal abgesehen davon dass der von der Midway schon wieder zurückgesetzt wurde). Mit Ausnahme der letzten 2 minimalen Haku Raketen damage nerfs wurden die auch nicht angefasst. -
An AA build in low tiers is even more worthless than an AA build in higher tiers since the buffs are percentage based. Last I checked 0 x 2 is still 0.
