50 DPS more than a Shima qualifies as "not bad" in your eyes, huh? No wonder you believe CVs to be balanced under such delusions.

CB ratings, expressing perfectly our feelings about CVs
El2aZeR replied to DxN69's topic in General Discussion
Seriously, just stop. You know well as I do that CVs are incredibly broken and this is precisely the reason why clans are campaigning against them despite having top CV players available. Your trolling isn't even funny anymore at this point.- 226 replies

Next time please just give us subtitles with the original voices. The English dubbing is terrible.

Issues I see with the game right now, suggestions of improvement
El2aZeR replied to Erik_Aukan's topic in General Discussion
Terrible players in general are irrelevant to balance, otherwise one could argue that nerfs to CVs are more than justified because terrible players cannot deal with them. Being a good CV player makes any losses you take largely irrelevant. Sector reinforcement barely damages one plane down to yellow on activation. The reason why ships should be completely immune to air attack under certain conditions is because CVs have tremendous advantages over surface ships which must be balanced out by suitable weaknesses. Currently CVs have no weaknesses, only strengths over surface ships. All aspects of AA are underwhelming. -
Enterprise was removed from the premium shop as it is the most blatantly overpowered ship in the game.

T6 CVs can perform perfectly fine against T8 ships assuming sufficient skill. If you're struggling, simply know that all you have to do is improve. AA rating is completely arbitrary and does not represent how strong the AA on a ship actually is. No, it doesn't get better. It actually gets worse, AA jumps quite significantly in power in high tiers. However if you are sufficiently skilled all AA is actually worthless.

Issues I see with the game right now, suggestions of improvement
El2aZeR replied to Erik_Aukan's topic in General Discussion
It isn't. Hence why the top picks this season are Stalins and Venezias, both of which have mediocre AA at best but provide other utility that either synergize with CVs well or are useful against them. Whether you down a relevant amount of planes is entirely up to the CV player. Most CV players are terrible. Do the math. -

El2aZeR replied to Erik_Aukan's topic in General Discussion
Uh no. That's not per run. That's per squad. Meaning that if the enemy squad manages to get all its attack through you shoot down one extra plane total assuming your base DPS is good. If it isn't good your returns from a full AA build will be reduced to 0, aka you won't shoot down any extra planes at all. To say that this is completely irrelevant, especially in context of how many planes a CV can field per match and how many points/slots you have to invest in such a build, would be a humongous understatement. Also respawn rate per strike cycle is not 0,5, it is roughly 1,2 to 1,5 per non-full squad. -

I believe someone calculated that you need around 4-5 Smolensks sitting in one grid to completely deny a strike from a T10 CV. -

The difference between using a full AA build and not using any AA skills is typically a single plane extra shot down if you have decent base DPS. -
Tier X Gameplay is worst than ever - what are doing WG ?!
El2aZeR replied to SEN_SEN_Channel_Portugue's topic in General Discussion
WG doesn't care about the quality of matches (or anything, really) as long as the average playerbase keeps throwing money at them.- 165 replies

Yes, as regardless of what your intention is, you're still griefing. Otherwise such a line of reasoning can very well be used to justify pretty much everything, including outright cheating. Somehow I seriously doubt anything you say might hurt the feelings of @AnotherDuck.

The playerbase continued to support the rework despite the testing phase proving that it is fundamentally flawed and way worse than what was before it. As such yes, the playerbase can and should be blamed. You all knew well in advance that this would be a enriched uranium sandwich but wanted to eat it regardless because "omg anything is better than what we have now". Now deal with it.
-
Quite frankly? You're playing a class that literally has griefing as its core gameplay element. Just because both teams have a CV doesn't change that. Don't expect people to be nice to you. Instead embrace it. Tell yourself that they deserve every single point of damage you dish out. Laugh at their complaints and relish in their salty tears. The playerbase wanted this rework. Now they have to live with it.

Well, that's the event done for me already I guess. Meanwhile in KC... -
CVs can attack any target at any time regardless of range. That literally hasn't changed. In fact the target spectrum has widened due to AA being worthless. CVs are the best close-mid range fighters in the game due to their extreme damage output at such ranges. CVs do not need to spot torpedoes to fight a DD rushing a CV. The DD is literally suiciding in such a case. Auto pilot is terrible, yeah. A small price to pay for playing a fundamentally broken class however. There is no need to use Priority Sector due to your automatic CAP. Likewise there is no need to select targets for your secondary battery because you have planes. A lot of classes do not have heal. CVs meanwhile not only remain out of harms way, they're also more tanky than most contemporary cruisers. CVs do not earn less XP than any other ship in most tiers. Their income is literally equivalent to BBs. Only in T10 did they get nerfed by -5% to -10% along with a -10% to -15% on a loss for T8+. And no, the nerfs do not mean CVs earn less, the nerfs actually mean that CVs earn the same amount as every other class. Before that they would earn more. Given the current state of the ingame economy how much silver a ship takes to maintain is thoroughly irrelevant. I have. There is nothing you can do but pray that the enemy CV is terrible. T8 CV vs T10 DDs is the most lopsided engagement one can ever face - to the detriment of the DD.

CV dive bomb damages after hitting water
El2aZeR replied to MrPilot_1453's topic in General Discussion
Actually killed a Moskva with an invisible torp like 2 days ago in CBs. Was quite funny. Sadly didn't save the replay nor have I taken a screenshot. -
I'm gonna guess you mean "Subs shouldn't be spotted when fully submerged unless proxy spot and hydro"? Or sth else?
-
Opinions can be basically split into three camps: The mediocre/bad CV players along with the people who just liked to hate on RTS think the CV rework is great, that everything is perfectly fine and that CVs are perfectly balanced or even in need of buffs. The people who don't care due to the majority of CVs being utterly incompetent, well, don't care. The actually skilled CV players and people who aren't blind to simple facts or statistical data pretty much universally believe that the rework is broken on a fundamental level. Ironically even former WG employee iEarl sarcastically commented in his latest video about subs that CVs are "balanced" now. Also this thread is likely going to get closed and you're going to be redirected to this thread: https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/132108-general-cv-related-discussions/
