Then don't make a 2nd attack and accel bail. Though usually even a 2nd attack is possible without putting the slightest strain on your reserves. Then you're terrible at playing CVs. 11 losses is nothing to any high tier CV. Audacious rocket planes actually have terrible survivability. Shaving only 7k off of a Smaland in multiple attacks is either some seriously bad RNG or, far more likely, incompetent usage of aircraft. Smaland, like Halland, is a fat DD that regularly takes 7-8k damage per attack, with salvos over 10k being well in the realms of possibility. Not to mention that 2-3 salvos will regularly wipe out half or more of her AA mounts, quickly neutering her AA strength of which she has little to begin with. Smolensk has about the same AA DPS as a Zao. Last I checked Zao isn't some kind of AA monster. Even a Shokaku can push 2 DB attacks through on it. Quite a few T8 CVs perform fine in a T10 environment as they're incredibly overtuned. Shokaku and Lexington could easily pass as T9 CVs. The "true" T8 CVs are also the ones considered the weakest of the bunch. Implying I only play Enterprise LOL. T10 CVs are fine and can perfectly murder anything and everything in a full T10 environment. Even the RN line gets a decent one. In fact it could be said that T10 is the only tier where ships have even remotely adequate levels of AA and it is still way too weak. Current T10 AA should be found at T8. As for supposed counters, there are none to CVs as in the end what you can and cannot do is directly dependent on the skill of the CV player. Your own skill plays only a part if the CV player is incompetent unlike with any other class or inter-class interaction. Except CVs have extreme early game impact as well, being able to break a push before it even starts. Which, you know, should be a given when it is the only class that both spots and can score crippling damage within the first minute of the match. That the Lex was incapable of doing anything despite being top tier highlights the incompetence of the player and neither represents the supposed "power" of a push against a CV nor implies any deficiencies in CV striking power. In fact that you were able to hunt down a Lex at all, a ship that is faster than you, speaks volumes, just not about anything you said.

Smolensk, Des Moines and Smaland have terrible AA. Minotaur not only suffers quite hard from CV ordinance but also from CV spotting. Halland can easily be neutered in just a few attacks. There is no AA hell at any tier.

No it doesn't. It merely shows that the percentage of CV matches compared to the other classes overall has risen. There are too many variables that are being ignored here such as total population differences and queue/MM differences to bring this to a conclusive end. Again, they should have just shown the total player numbers. That they didn't is rather... interesting to say the least.

Raptor Op bugged - sabotaged on purpose ?

I mean, it has never been fixed, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -
At which tier should you no longer be a total tool?

According to WG and depending on your playstyle it actually is. From the recent discord Q&A: -
New shipclass idea.... Auxiliary Ships
El2aZeR replied to Yosha_AtaIante's topic in General Discussion
No it doesn't. CVs are the most effective damage dealers in the game. If they cannot effectively outdamage the heal, what chances do you think cruisers or DDs have? The very concept is doomed to fail from the outset. -
New shipclass idea.... Auxiliary Ships
El2aZeR replied to Yosha_AtaIante's topic in General Discussion
Which leaves us with 2 scenarios: 1. The heal buff is so good that it offsets the damage a CV can deal, making any ship in their vicinity practically invulnerable to everything but AP/torp dev strikes. 2. The heal buff isn't good enough that it offsets the damage a CV can deal, making the healer a free kill for the CV. -

You just want more free kills in CVs, don't you? -
Wouldn't know if he knows me. And aw, the clip got deleted. But I liked my title as CV apologist. Guess I'll go back to hating on CVs then.

Given that this is % of total amount of battles it clearly doesn't compensate for population differences. E.g. if the total amount of players went down but the amount of CV players stayed the same, that'd show an increase in the share of CV battles played. I'm sure wondering why they're not simply displaying the actual player numbers.

Really? Lets get a more extreme example, if someone were to live in a state where murder is legal and he murders someone, that would still make him a murderer regardless of legislation, no? As for "my case", you do realize I'm literally calling myself a griefer, right?
-
Hardly. The player chooses to play a griefing class, therefore the player is a griefer. The player may not intend to grief, but that doesn't change that it is exactly what they're doing. It'd be hardly any different if WG would implement a ship that has auto-aim. By using the ship you'd be cheating and therefore be a cheater. A developer sanctioned cheater, but a cheater nonetheless.

So I had an F. D. Roosevelt in my game... just so you know what to look forward to
El2aZeR replied to _not_so_nice_'s topic in General Discussion
A full 8 hits with FDR would deal 33864 damage. A full 6 hits from a Midway deals 30402 damage. The difference is therefore a mere 3462 alpha. However the reason why FDR is severely underpowered is primarily due to the slow planes in combination with the 25 second attack cooldown. This means that in a direct damage comparison a Midway will not only get to a target faster, it will also drop twice in the time a FDR gets a single drop off AND get another strike on the way. So in reality we cannot compare strike vs strike, we must always compare 1x FDR strike to at least 2x Midway strikes, if not 2.5x, at which point FDR just falls woefully behind. Therefore a fair comparison would be that e.g. a full 8 hits from FDR TBs will deal 33864 damage, while 2 drops from Midway TBs will deal 60804 damage. Likewise Lexington TBs will deal 38802 damage under the same conditions. And we haven't even gotten into that taking all 8 torps is an extremely unlikely prospect while taking 6 torps from a Midway or, even better, 3 torps from Lex TBs is much, MUCH more likely. As such FDR as she currently is would be a failure of a CV even at T8. -
The definition of griefing is independent from how a game is designed or how a mechanic works. As it stands reworked CVs are inherently designed to be griefers.

Guess what, if that had been a Midway you would have actually taken more damage from the torp strike. FDR as she currently is would make an embarrassing T8 CV. -

Doesn't change that the engage area of a fighter will still be fixed. A CV gets told when he enters it, enabling them to pinpoint the location of an escorted DD. Not to mention that the process of despawning the fighter allows them a free scout of the area.
-
A great way to grief your own teammates by constantly giving away their position just like fighters do now. Won't even deny any strikes as you can just despawn them.
-
No, it's just the gap in skill between individual CV players. Commonly referred to as the skill gap. DFAA ambush is extremely ineffective as making an immediate attack then accel bailing will save the majority of your squad while also potentially dealing horrendous damage to the Halland. The Halland meanwhile now has wasted DFAA, making itself an even easier target for follow up strikes. Halland AA is way overrated. Again, if you have trouble with it, git gud.
-
And again, how exactly does that change that these complaints are still legitimate? Did you fail to read that part? So much for not diverging to anything lul.
-
Yeah, it's not like CVs get a helpful little icon that tells them whether they're detected by only planes or ships as well. The average playerbase never ceases to amaze I suppose.
-
During the rework beta AA as a concept more or less didn't exist and CVs had way higher alpha strike than even during RTS. Stop embarrassing yourself. How about they just git gud? Isn't that what CV apologists constantly admonish everyone else for? Yet suddenly when it is turned around on them they don't want to listen to their own advice.
