Reinstating odd tier CVs won't happen as it would highlight what a failure the rework is. WG already jumped metric from player numbers to battles played because they know even with an even number of players the rework will be played more simply due to the fact that the playerbase is condensed into fewer tiers. So that's that out of the window. Why all this fuss is necessary in the first place is beyond me. All you need to do is to nerf the T4 TBs back down and otherwise adjust damage in general a little downwards. When the rework lost its hype we didn't see a mass of people artificially inflating low tier CV numbers via seal clubbing because they actually had somewhat appropriate damage potential for their tier (aka very little). If we go back to that it stands to reason that the issue of both balance and overcrowding is going to solve itself.

This is a blatant lie. It will actually increase due to the DD being unable to break spotting unlike now. This has tremendous consequences as it allows even potato CV players to line up a run whereas previously they'd have difficulty doing so. Against skilled CV players this obviously has no impact. But then again against skilled CV players this overall change is actually a nerf to DDs.

Und selbst wenn, wenn man mal wirklich keine Ahnung hat halt ein wenig vorsichtiger Spielen und radar baiten. So schwierig ist das nicht. Wie Schade nur, dass es für den CV eine Mechanik gibt, mit der man ganz leicht die Position eines DDs bestimmen kann. Mal abgesehen davon werden Flieger im Vergleich zu deren speed und Schadenspotential extrem spät gespotted. 10km ist besser als die meisten Kreuzer und die fahren keine 150-220 Knoten. Noch dazu kann man durchaus cover benutzen, um sich an Schiffen anzuschleichen. Oder anders gesagt, der CV ist hier anders als du denkst IMMER im Vorteil. Wie auch so bei ziemlich allen anderen Aspekten im Spiel.

Joah, ist ja net so als ob man einem T6 BB bis zu der Hälfte seiner HP einfach so mit einem squad wegpusten kann weil die AA da unten noch lächerlicher ist als im high tier. Man könnte fast meinen, dass die WG devs ihr eigenes Spiel nicht spielen würden. Lasst die CVs einfach raus aus dem kompetitiven Bereich. Die haben seit dem Rework da nichts mehr zu suchen.

Ist ja auch okay so. Die bekämpfen sich nämlich gegenseitig, geben ihren teammates die Möglichkeit sie zu bekämpfen und wenn sie weg sind hat man immer noch Möglichkeiten, einen DD aufzudecken und zu killen. Wenn das dennoch nicht möglich ist, so kann man trotzdem Druck auf sie aufbauen und map control wegnehmen. CVs werden aktiv davon abgehalten, sich zu bekämpfen. Sie geben ihren teammates nicht nur die Möglichkeit, jegliches Ziel zu bekämpfen, sondern bekämpfen es auch noch effektiv selbst. Und wenn der eigene CV mal so dumm war und sich hat abknallen lassen dann kann man nur hoffen, dass das gesamte Gegnerteam nur aus Kartoffeln besteht und selbst dann wird's allein schon wegen dem Punktenachteil schwierig noch zu gewinnen. Druck auf den CV aufbauen kann man auch nicht, der riskiert ja an sich schon nichts. Map control kann man dem auch nicht wegnehmen, da CVs bei weitem die beste Klasse dafür ist. DDs laufen nicht amok, wenn CVs nicht mehr im Spiel sind. Das hat man schon in RTS Zeiten gesehen. War vielleicht mal ganz früher in 2016 so, aber seitdem sind 'ne Menge DD counter hinzugekommen. In Sachen class balance sind CVs daher heutzutage völlig überflüssig, denn sie beeinflussen ALLE anderen Klassen negativ ohne auch nur eine einzige positive Wirkung zu haben. Es gibt keine einzige negative Konsequenz, wenn man sie raus nimmt, nur positive.

Yes, clearly by playing CVs you are entitled to success even if you put no effort into learning how to play. Gotcha. The change is to all CVs carrying AP bombs. Enterprise is a CV carrying AP bombs. Therefore Enterprise gets nerfed. It's not that hard. Whatever this has to do with the nation she belongs to is beyond me. And it's not like this ship doesn't deserve it either. It still has among the best rockets in the game as well as among the best TBs in the game. And it will also continue to have among the best AP bombs in the game.

Care to share the replay? If you don't know where to find it, there is a "replays" folder in your WoWs install directory. Because frankly this isn't playing badly, this is outright griefing as well as attempting to muddle balancing stats.

Don't have the specific screenshot on hand I'm afraid, but usually BBs tend to be the most annoying targets to strike as they have overall the best all around sustain against CVs.

I can give you a rough calculation if you'd like. A Ranger brings on deck 12 rockets, 14 DBs and 12 TBs. They have 55s, 53s and 69s regeneration respectively. That means over a 20 minute match and accounting for the initial delay in regeneration at the match start as you cannot start every squad immediately, a Ranger gets 33 rocket planes (the full reserve since you usually start with rockets), 34 DBs (-2 assuming this is the second plane type you launch) and 25 TBs (-4 assuming this is the third plane type you launch). Overall reserve is therefore about 82 planes. For comparison RTS Midway before her reserves were nerfed had 90 strike planes. Shokaku in 2/2/2 had 48.

Which is the same as back then and compared to that AA is still terribly inefficient. AA builds are worthless. The difference between a full AA build and a no AA build is typically a single plane more shot down if you have good base DPS. No difference at all if you have poor base DPS. If the enemy CV is a potato, there is no difference at all as the planes die to flak anyway. You're wasting points and upgrade slots with an AA build. And how many of those are fighters which have no impact whatsoever on CV reserves? In an Enterprise I only need to call in 3 fighter squads over enemy AA to lose 30 planes. That means absolutely nothing when it comes to AA effectiveness nor does it have any effect on me. Case and point: And even if you're shooting down dozens of planes, it doesn't actually matter because CV reserves are now roughly twice to thrice the size as they were previously depending on tier. Plane losses thus become inconsequential. Likely no. But guess what, baiting enemy fighters over friendly AA is also a lot of time lost that you simply couldn't spend striking. This is no longer the case. The potato CV still loses all his planes to flak, the unicum CV can spend the entire time striking enemy ships with impunity. As such I fail to see how this is supposed to be an improvement of some kind?

Wanna know something funny? GZ is actually performing extremely well in average stats, the B variant regularly taking second place behind Enterprise on EU and actually achieving rivaling stats on SEA. And since WG balances around average stats seemingly without any thorough analysis GZ must be either fine or even overperforming in their eyes.

I'm actually talking about the entire MM spread. Naturally that includes T8 CVs which do NOT get "devastated" by the AA listed. Perhaps you should just git gud instead?

Yeah, just dodge them. Not like Enterprise AP DBs can just turn to match your maneuvers without accuracy penalty or sth, enabling her to get a perfect drop even at a ~90° angle if you make your approach correctly. Inb4 WG just removes CBs instead. After all can't have players boycotting a gamemode when it doesn't exist and as a result spreadsheet shows that everyone must love CVs.

By buying a premium ship you're not buying a digital product. You're buying the right to use it for as long as WG grants you permission to do so. WG still holds all ownership over everything and is in no way obligated to keep things as they are by law since they're changing their own product over which you have NO rights. Go try to sue WG over this change via the quoted law. See how far you get.

Guy on TTT discord speculated that it is to sell AP rockets better as a gimmick rather than addressing balancing issues. Makes sense tbh since WG hasn't given a darn about balancing CVs for quite some time.
