Smoke = your hp x 3 times. The more time you live, the more damage you get. Atlanta needs to go around to find a good position to shoot without being deleted, Flint can just drop smoke and farm damge like no tomorrow. -

Problem with radars and sonars in this game is that they don't care about LOS. Hiding behind island and radar/sonar all DDs going to cap is [edited]. -

Other changes : https://sea-group.org/?p=3128&lang=en#comments - Lion's rudder shifting time increased by 66.7% (on both hulls). They are now 22.15 sec and 15.82 sec, respectively. (much less agile now) - Conqueror rudder shifting time increased from 10.4 sec to 17.32 sec (much less agile now). A turret's firing arc increased to ±143°. it got back 457 mm (with dispersion and range nerf) and sigma buff (1.8 to 2.0). Gun accuracy is more like Montana than Zao now. It still keeps retarded 63% fire chance for its HE shells and radar. - Except Hood and Warspite, all British BBs lost favorable ricochet angle (60/67,5 degrees) - Graf Zepplin "Shuriken" torp pattern : Auto drop spreading changed to 540 meters (the distance bewteen the leftmost and rightmost torpedo). Manual drop spreading changed to 480 meters. (don't know if it is a buff or a nerf, more likely nerf) - Lexington, Essex, Midway, Shokaku, Taiho, Hyakuryu's extremity armor protection reduced from 21 mm to 19 mm. (more vulnerable to 120 mm HE) - Fiji's secondaries firing range decreased from 5.0 km to 4.5 km. - Chapayev, Hipper, Prinz Eugen, and New Orlean's secondaries firing range increased from 4.5 km to 5.0 km. - Henry IV, Zao, Des Moines, and Hindenburg's secondaries firing range increased to 6.0 km. - Shimakaze's main gun reload time reduced from 6 sec/round to 5.74 sec/round. - Torpedo Reload Booster: The variant that previously reduce the torpedo reload time to 30 seconds now reduced it 8 seconds; another variant that previously reduce it to 5 seconds now has it cooldown reduced (240 s to 180s). -
As i said before, some overpena are fake overpens. They overpen only first layer of armour and then detonate in the ship due to contact with internal armour in unfavorable angle.

Problem is that the game hides a lot of parameters to you The dispersion shown in your hangar is only max horizontal dispersion at current max range. That value alone doesn't tell you the whole story They don't show you vertical dispersion which is the heigth of the eclipse, minimum values of horizontal and vertical dispersions, the range value from where the dispersions change from AX+B to Cx+D (for example, Jap BB dispersions increase faster in short range but slower in long range while US BB dispersions increase slower in short range but faster in long range), the sigma which determines the distribution of the shells in the eclipse.

The pen is lackluster so vs BB is not very good, but you can pen their deck and upper belt so aim higher -
I'm still using HE vs DD and Jap CAs. Watching them burning to death when they steathlly disengaged and smoked up is fun

i rarely got citadelled in smoke because I always angled my Minotaur. i rather use 60% of my guns then get 3 citadels in return.. You can also confuse your enemies by switching betwwen full salvo and sequential fire.

I got to Minotaur and I normally hide behind some island and spam shells like no tomorrow lol If there is no island, i go bow on or stern on, angled my ship as best to minimize my side as i can then spam shells

Low tier RN Cls are fragile but when you get to Fiji, I cannot count how many time I got Dreadnought medal with it anymore.

Yes, there is a case when somehow 1 shell overpened/pened first layer of armour and managed bounced of inside and explode, deal extral dmg to the ship. And it happened to all classes, not only DDs. That is the 16 mm horizontal plate which caused the shell to bounce inside the ship because your 203 mm shell cannot overmatch it

Problem of the game right now is that they gave BBs too many tools to fight DDs so Cruiser roles become less and less revelant. We are supposed to be DD >> BB >> CA>>DD, no ? In the beginning, I played mostly cruiser but cruiser became quickly a lost cause for me. Why play cruiser anymore when you can play BBs and wreck anything thrown at you in most cases. Until when radar and sonar have some sort of LOS mechanism like view range, I think radar or sonar equipped BBs will become more and more popular in the future. -
The ship is an HE bait with small superstructure. Most of the time, you get 1 fire and fire damage dealt to you is minimal to none due to 38 mm deck which shattens even IFHE 150 mm and normal 203 mm HE shells. Moerover, you don't need to use dmg control party frequently like other ships. You can survive the battle even without super intendent and premium Dmg control party. With submerged citadel, the ship can be the most tanky at tier 5, very resistant to both AP and HE shells. its only weakness is versus torpedo attack. The AP shell work fine vs broadside targets. For others, just spam HE. AA is meh, can shoot down some planes but don't rely on them.
