    And this does not represent a big change for you? Moreover in your previous post you clearly said that now ships have the opportunity to kill planes. So I see some contradiction in what you state now. If this is a fantasy why MrConway posted an official answer from WG saying that they went "too far" with the tweak to the AA? about my previous post I just find out the answer (or at least a clue ) Enjoy the summer and don't take everything so seriously

    Usually after a new update is introduced you find several videos on YouTube from CCs, explaining the "new" stuff. Now 5 days are gone from update 085, which has introduced a significant chance to the game mechanics and still none of the CCs has posted a video. The only exception is Notser who is Always very much enthusistic about everything WG does. Perhaps they are all on holidays??

    I never said that, So don't put in my mouth this kind of It is absolutely natural that when you are bottom tier you struggle. This happens in every class by a logic reason. The one above is my original sentence. Let me explain further as I am suffering from intense summer heat and my english is also suffering When I speak about ranges I speak about probability. If you know something about statistics you know there is a range that goes from one extreme to another and there is a middle. For example: assuming the dispersion of a BB's main guns is 200m at 10 km it means that the majority of the shells will land inside that area. Some will still land outside randomly (due to air drag, humidity, a not perfect barrel etc etc) but the majority will land in the middle. Same for planes: when I said that in average a Squadron of planes should be able to drop onto a target I meant that. Then of course sometime you will los 50% of the SQ, some time 90% BUT IN AVERAGE you should be able to drop. Of course I am talking about same tier ships/planes. And of course the result of the drop WOULD be still affected by AA strengh , aim etc. Wich doesn't mean it will automatically result in max damage. I wasn't talking at all about players. only about an action (bombing) and its outcome.. Here there are 2 BIG mistakes If u quote me then I am a single person. I do not represent Others neither I have this presumption. I am only trying to contribute to a discussion, hoping that this will lead to a good solution. Why do you have to use the word ridicolous? Perhaps not all palyers have your experience or your level of skill. Some request may be a little naive but to tell other their opinions are ridicolous it is not nice and certainly doesn't help to find a solution.

    This is insane. Mino WILL slaughter your SQ before 1 bomb is dropped. Especially because it's often hard to spot from the distance and usually is never TOO far from another ship. Then OFC exceptions may exhist. But the game should be balanced around the average (or midlle of the possible ranges) not about the extreme. That's abolutely right. Or at lest I totally agree with you. So now you understand that Flying around hoping to find the "bravest" person in enemy team that decide to sail apart from his team and ask to be bombed is not really fun? We need to find a way which grant: 1. CV the opportunity to drop over the target, 2. at a cost that will be proportionate to the target AA capability, and 3. with an accepatable level of damage on target (depending on the type of ordnance). In my opinion the 084 was satisfing the first 2 of the above conditions. The latter was probably a bit high. so it's the last that could be changed. Reducing by 5 % or 10 % the Alpha of a AP bomb will make all vessels stronger and CV will require more strike to achieve a kill. Denying CV the capacity to strike or at least make them pay an impossible price for it, result in frustration and this is not really good for the game.

    Hello Excavatus I have KAGA but have played very little since the hit the fan. Concerning your point I can tell you usually the biggest problem VS DD is you spot them very late. This means you have to fly around and drop a fighter to keep them spotted. During the manouver you will suffer AA from the DD (if he reminds to press P ) and from cruiser that are nearby. Usually I can do 1 or max 2 pass on any isolated DD of the same tier. And the damage ofc depends on the rockets number (and some RNG). What I have observed however is that the damage itself is not the first cause of Death for the DD. Instead the problem is that rockets quite often cause critical damage to engine or rudder, Believe it or not it is still plenty of DD captains that DO NOT RUN last stand!! This is a Death sentence for a DD under air attack, cause even if CV is not killing the DD, it will keep the prey spotted long enough for its teammates to finish the job. the advantage of KAGA are the big reserve of planes. Especially TB. Thats why it is "less " impacted by the Genius who changed the AA damage. In my opinion the best way to balance CV would be in reducing slightly the Alpha damage done by all ordinance, and eventually the fire chance. This would have balanced much more the game of the actual system.
  6. Sorry but the number of planes is so little that in my opinion SAIPAN has become the WORST CV at all. I am still confident in WG. I know they usually react slow. But to quote Fox Mulder "I want to believe".
  7. Trust me it won't make much difference. Still too many CV around all ships have full AA build. Better to park in port and wait for better times.

    Dear Erycson55 I wish WG will read your post because in 4 points you have summarized ALL. I totally agree with you . CV went under a series of nerf since the 080 release. Some of them were really needed like the removal of Radio Location Skill. Others have made the line more challanging but still playable with satisfaction. Point 3 is the most accurate description of HOW CV WORKS under the current system. So it is strinking incredible to me that nobody at WG realized that the new AA system would penalize too much the way ALL CV works. I remember the days when Hakuryu at the start could simply launch all its TB squadron and cross torp and delete (or completely cripple ) any Tier X ship. In this regard the new system is way better. But the current update result too much punitive for any CV. I have played a couple of game Yesterday, Ships are Clustering even more then before. And there is little you can do against. It never happened to me to get zero TB left on Hakuryu, it happened Yesterday after 10 minutes. And I was predropping to reduce the number of the squadron to spare some planes.

    Right! and I would also add that 10 sec reload is impossible to buff by captain skill, while torps reload can be lowered. Moreover when you come to the end phase of the match and the range from enemy is soo close, torps are much more effective.

    Totally agree with you. Benham deserved a better event like a campaign. But I believe WG has created this event making the grind so long only to sell crates at a ridicolous price.
  11. Already completed with Furios. OFC in coop mode. NO salty comment and not impossible AA due to fact Bots have no AA spec. As someone Yesterday told me : adapt improvise overcome. Mission accomplish. PS Dear WG the mission was quite easy in coop. Really boring however, but as we say in my country " you me, I you twice"

    Hello The hotfix … on one side is good to see WG aknowlegde that 085 has gone too far, BUT on the other hand this is a bandaid on a broken leg. It won't really fix anything. It's a pity to see all these months of work to make CV more enjoyable wasted in one single move.
  14. just played 2 match in Haku to see by myself is it possible somehow managing the 085. Both were pure Honestly is this is the intention, to reduce CV to a mere spotting role, well better play DD. They even get better reward for spotting. Perhaps when all BB players will start to complain about how many DDs and Torps there are around someone at WG will wake up. I still wonder if Developers and Testers usually speak with Marketing guys, Cause with this trend I see no point in buying an Ark Royal or the other Tier 8 upcoming UK CV.
  15. Humm perhaps someone skipped a couple of math lessons in highschool. Let's analize togheter: SE now gives +15 per each tier. At tier X this means +150 HP per plane. with the new Hotfix SE will give +25 , wich at tier X means 250. Now the real difference between 0.8.5 and 0.8.5.1 will be a mere 100 HP per plane at tier X Example: Midway TB without SE have 2204 HP . Up to now thanks to SE they have 2354 HP (and they die like flies ). Starting from Tomorrow they will have 2454 HP. wich is an increase of less then 5%. As a matter of fact ANY buff should start from the PRESENT situation NOT from waht it was before. Just an example: A ZAO (not the best AA in class) has a short range (1.9Km - 3.5 Km) DPS aura of 600 + ; Perhaps I am NOT an optimist BUT honestly I don't see how those 100 HP can really make a difference. Conclusion: although this "FIX" is coming really fast (wich lead me to think that someone inside WG already had the idea of the mess coming) and it's welcome, I doubt it will be sufficient. Cheers

    Obviously you are simply TOOO COOOL for us poor POTATOS that deserve to be farmed. You should ask WG to create a dedicated server for SUPER SUPER COOOOOL UNICUM like you that deserve better challenges. What you should realize (one day hopefully) is that a big portion of the so called potatoes (like me) have no real interest in achieving great result. they are more focused on having a little fun when they are free from work, family business etc etc. Anyway good luck breaking all record around ! I m pretty sure you will soon have yuor dedicated channel on twitch.

    IMO the biggest problem is the vast majority of the squadron gets killed after the first strike. I think WG could try to experiment a couple of remedial: - increase the boost time to allow planes to get out of the bubble in less time. - return to prior F function, when planes could immediately go into the immunity zone. - Increasing the planes health could be another way to go past the problem. - perhaps even increasing the spotting capacity could help CV to avoid being ambushed by cruisers with AA turned off and used only when planes get in the spotting ring. It's all about experimenting unfortunately, meaning that it will take time to find a balanced solution. in the mean time I am playing the savage battles

    A single game in a Premium Ship (wich is generally a bit better the a regular one) doesn't make stats. Today at tier V I shot down 24 planes in a DD . .. something is really wrong.

    just to give you a direct feedback of how balanced is AA now even at low tier I intentionally cut the players name to avoid any problem. However as you can see I shot down 24 planes in Gremyashy LOL MrConway was optimist when he said they went a bit too far

    Dear Gvozdika thanks for your reply. Let's discuss your points: - the spotting ability is certainly there BUT as I said in my post it can / should be balanced by the same ability of your friendly CV. Wich lead to a zero advantage for the team. All spotting is in favor of the team not a perse action. Now here there is ground for skill as some players don't evaluate the importance of this action and go straight for strike the first ship they spot. - same as above. Your CV can deny this ability using fighter planes. Each class has it's own strengh and weakness. DD can also relocate faster then any other surface ships. What should happen? to give every ship class the same manouverability ?? DD use speed to defend themself. BB use armor to achieve the same goal. - this is partly true. Losing a squadron of rokets plane deny the ability to quickly spot DD and defend caps. IMO Rockets planes are the best in this role. Certainly losing a chunk of HP is worst BUT many ships (and even some DD) has heal that can be used to restore (at least in part) that mistake. And now.. rolling the drums on the last point I totally agree with you. but IMO this is due to the excessive strengh of the fighters. I tried a couple of time in a double CV match to run a "surprise" early strike on enemy CV. Approaching was doable, managing to avoid detection with TB. The Target did not even started to move until I dropped the torps. BUT fighters automatically activate and after the 2 torps hits my squadron was devasteted. Result 6 or 7 K damage for an entire squadron and whats perhaps even worst was the waste of time during wich I could not support my team. SOLUTION PROPOSED : make CV fighters weaker, and manually activating. That could open ground to different tactic. cheers

    I find quite interesting all this argument against CV as a Whole. "they can still kill an isolated ship" "they can spot and harass DD" "they can kill low HP ships at the end of the match" "they have endless planes" Etc ETc Well first thing I would like to remember to all those who make this kind of comments is : when you enter a match where a CV is present in the enemy lineup, THERE IS A CV ALSO IN YOUR TEAM The only exception so far are BOTs team in COOP mode. But so far they did not come on Forum to complain. This is NOT irrelevant cause a CV can/should also perform defensive actions in favor of his team. However defensive action doesn't look COOL on the final score as spotting and spotting damge for example give CV low profit compared for example to DDs. Moreover because now CV can only control one flight group at the time, losing a couple of minutes at the start of the match, to find enemy DDs and so give your team the possibility to avoid the surprise of a nasty torpedo spread, is NOT appealing like dropping rockets/bombs on a ship. Concerning the point of "CV can still attack an isolated ship" I would argue that any ship can do that. But apparently according to this argument CV should ONLY wait for this opportunity while they should not be able to attack any other ship without having the Whole squadron killed. Balanced and fun game right? Any ship at any moment can trade HP to achieve a kill or a significant tactical advantage. For example a BB pushing a cap defended by a low HP DD or a CA. Same goes or should go for CV. The difference is CV is trading planes. concerning the "endless planes" I was also misguided by this argument at the start of 0.8.0 until I decide to try CV as I still had 2 premium in my port (that I was not using). The endless planes is OFC not true as you have to regenerate them and it takes time. But I am ready to accept a deal: give planes stronger survivability or reduce AA and go back to prior 0.8.0 . Give every CV a fixed number of planes like in the old days. BUT THEN GIVE ALSO TO ALL OTHER CLASSES A LIMITED NUMBER OF AMMO AND TORPS like in world of tanks. Greetings
