Hello Mac Well I would say it depends on the meta. In general you have DDs and Implacable is good at dealing with them or better than shokaku On the contrary if the meta is more " heavy" Shokaku AP bombers are better. they are both good, however but I see implacable more flexible… -

CV: Enterprise / Implacable BB : Lenin / Vladivostock CA/CL : Bagration /Baltimore DD: Kidd / Orkan / Oland / Benson As you can see I listed premium vs non premium for each class OFC this is my personal opinion BUT I have all of them (exception is bagration) therefore my idea is supported my direct experience. -
Hello, allow me to enter this interesting discussion: First of all I want to say that some of your points are certainly valid and understandable, in terms of general discussion. However I have to say that I do not entirely agree with your point. IMO BB in current meta are really fine. Lately I have seen some Youtuber form NA to bring up the same point and I think is greatly exaggerated. my recent exxperience is based on grinding (for the first time) the french BB line. With my surprise this BB are really excellent cause they are fast and have good pen value on the gun evn if the caliber is rather small compared to other nations. One of the weak points is having the "infamous" 32 mm plating which is easy to pen by HE spammers.. and therefore make your ship a preferential target. BUT what I found is that speed helps you a lot to get out of trouble and ofc initial positioning is also important. So far I had far better grinding experience than in UK line. All the above to reinforce the fact that the problem is NOT in the BB class. the problem (if real) is in the average player- too many times I see BB repairing one fire right away. And then losing half HP on the second fiire. too many times BB travel in straight line, and give free broadside to enemies. In other words they over existimated the potential of their ship. Last but not least: BB vs DD : overpen are common but when you take away 5/6 K from a DD that cannot heal… he usually flee away. And quite often this big holes bring also broken engine or rudder.. not a nice experience. While a BB hit by a torp may flood but flooding is 100% repairable. AA is certainly an issue at least on some nations. but again your HP poll is bigger and if you feel to be weak in that you can Always travel close to other ships. To summarize:, times have changed since the start of the game BUT not so much. BB are still a forgiving class, but need a little bit of attention when played. Today grinding is WAY EASIER then it was years ago. And I think this is the point : players reach high tier with NOT sufficient experience to handle all the threaths.

Hello Verblonde I agree that at least Rank 10 and 5 should be irrevocable. After all you keep the flag even if you lose the rank. On the other hand my advice is to try to get at least rank 6 (for the steel) or 5 (for the flag). Do like me.. play with mindset "I have nothing to lose" and perhaps your feelings will improve. IMO as it is now, in ranked you need a lot of luck: if you are lucky you willl get good team and achieve a positive streak. If not… things will become more difficult Good luck -

Hello Everyone Well first of all as a general feedback I would like to say I am very happy about this change in ranked. Tier VII is nice, limited radar, limited HE spamming. No Arm race.. the good old times of challenge between DDs seem to be back!! So far I am playing with a DD that was considered "questionable" by a very famous streamer in one of his recent video. Have played a few dozen of match and i was able to down from rank 14 to rank 8 . Hope it will keep going well. Just an advice from a noob like me: play the ship that you feel more confortable with. Well to answer to Excavatus that I consider a clever and honest person, In the image you can see what I think should be changed in ranked. First of all I admit that the last game was a real knife in my heart. being the only DD in a double Belfast game it's hard.. Being able to cap 2 zone was no joke. Still losing the star becsasue a player in a BB dealt damage. .,.,,, OK I will accept it WHAT I reall y struggle to accept is that I lose a star having earned more base XP than half of the enemy team… which for sure did more than me to deserrve the star ... This I dont like in ranked and i keep saying it.- Now dear Excavatus because I like to be constructive , this is my proposal. Give a star to the best 7 in the game (half players) without regards to winner or loser. NO ONE SAVE THE STAR. Only base XP based . this should also motivate people to be activew and not to sit back and wait to be carried.

Sure, and I have no problems with CVs. Just the planes. And they don't follow these rules. Durability? Yes Speed? Yes and I will add some planes turn slower than some Ships which I find quite hilarious… concealment? We can argue that this is really the point where planes were totally penalized ( I guess for gaming balance). Because I challenge anyone to prove that spotting 9 planes in formation at 3000 m high and 9 km away is easier that spotting a ship at the same distance from that altitude. Instead one more thing to improve the quality of the game, could have been this: as the squadron decrease in number also the visibility decrease. Instead now we have the absurd situation where a lone plane survivor from AA slaughter has the same detectability radius of a squadron and can be seen at 9km while a 100m long ship still can be seen only when it is at 2 km. now as I said I can understand this is for game balancing but it's definetely in favor of surface ships that quite often have the "first shot " advantage as usually get spotted only after starting to fire AA. Weaponry is limited and taliking about the latest introduction in game… now we have torps that are almost as fast as planes…. but apparently none is complaining with that.. except I guees the poor BB players.. among the rest only Flying over island is possible but that's the nature of planes,,, and cap . But do you really want to give planes the opportunity to CAP ?

this is valid not only for CV. Assume a Cruiser has two targets in range, which one will he choose? the one who is (for example) trying to cap or denying a cap or the one sitting more far away and playing more passive? Compared to the "old" RTS now CV can control ONLY one group (and this is something that many players struggle to realize) and therefore can directly influence only a part of the map. As a consequence the CV player, like all others, must make a choice (which do not necessarily is the best). someone will choose to stop an aggressive players, someone will go for easy damage, and someone else will just provide spotting all over the enemy fleet. For me the biggest downsize of the actual system is the absence of confrontation between CV . Which in the old RTS was much more frequent.

hello for sure you are a good player but this sentence is very generic and only applies in specific conditions. There are no way a CV can kill a ship IF the "target" is clustered with other friendly. Yes CV can be able to push through the AA Bubble but at what cost and to achieve what?? As I said there are some circustances in which the above is true. 1. Isolated ship is Always a good target; no AA bubble allow more than 1 strike and the damage can be really significant. 2 low HP ships: The trade can be very advantageous : few planes to murder a DD for example. This is one of the few cases where I consider losing even a full squadron (depending on enemy ship, situatiion in game etc) 3. a ship that is camping behind a island and can only partially use AA. The above are some cases, and there are Others. But we should stop feeding false legends and exagerating facts. Thanks

Hello I have experiencced a bug (or so I think) in the first mission of the new campaign. TASK n 6 "deal 160 damage to enemy ships" : today I scored 161K and the task was not completed. Now according to the specific you need to play at tier IX or X in random only (no rectriction on nations or type of ships). I was playing Tier X CV in random so I would like to know if someone else is experiencing the same before sending a ticket. Thanks

Well it's only my opinion but I think the reason why WG is hammering step by step Cv is NOT the spreadsheet. It's simply because of too many people COMPLAINING about CV : which is different from facts. Perception is reality. If I play BB and get burned by air strike and then complain cause I got "burned by CV", there is a good probability I wont buy premium ship or premium time or whatever… Doesn'tr matter then I got burned cause I dedcided to repair a single fire (which many many player still do) The fault is of the OP CV not my "skilled" decision making. Another Example: DD almost Always RUN to cap at the start. This is so difficult to predict for any CV… really requires a paranormal capacity… Guess what? they find a rocket sqaudron on their way lose 5/6 K damage are spotted perhaps focused by Others enemies and tosted in 2 minutes.. Again the fault rest on CV … they are tooo strong…. My perception (and I am not using this word by chance) : since I joined the game in 2015 I have seen many complains ; and I think this is quite normal inside a game community. But lately I see a lot of whining without critics. Last example the Odin shipyard. People started to whine about the impossible grind without even looking at the missions and directives. that are absolutely normal or even very easy.

Well after WG has penalized all CV in XP gain … now it's a little more difficult for CV to top the team. Plus all Ships get bonus for each plane shot down including the harmless fighters… YES another reason to quit CV playing above tier VI

this is something I can hardly believe. Let me tell u that above the all mentioned ships the only one I don't have is Smaland there fore I cannot judge her from a player perspective. What I can tell u is that I just concluded a match where a well below average player in his smaland was able to repel my audacios planes inflicting numerous kills (11) in return for 7 K damage. (that he can partially heal). Consider I have Cunningham Capt wich has a bonus reduction to damage taken and that Audacios planes are the strongest; If Audi suffers… it means really something need to be tuned. Smolensk AA bad? well as a owner I don't even run the AA consuimables because is so bad :) and instead prefer the hidro. put on top the smoke wich allow to sit inside and S@it on all enemy planes in a confortable radius.. .. Yes I can deliver damage to a single one but they are never so spaced that their AA dont overlap. As OVan Bruce said there are many of these ships at tier X lately and there u can see why players become reluctant to play CV at tier X the subsequent truth is Tier VIII Cv get sucked into Tier X battles and it's even worst.

How long will it last ? That's the problem… I prefer to wait a little longer don't want to waste flags on a battle that freeze !!

Perhaps the are sharing the server with World of Tanks that today is also down due to a major update. Can u imagine if they messed up and launched the WoT update on the WoW server?? I can see tanks floating around and shooting subs Perhaps the new frontier of Wows..

Yep same issue for me. The banner says "server maintenance from 0030 to 0200 today" but now are 0630 and still no sign of life… someone has forgotten to switch server to "ON" ???

I personally decided to STOP playing this ranked mode thas has NOTHING to do with skill but a lot with luck and resilience. Going to rank 1 makes grinding PR for free a joke. Accumulated enough steel to get the Balancegrad. No reason to destroy another keyboard in a rage attack. LAST but not least the ARM race mod in my experience is the WORST of all. GG and good luck

Hello Excavatus Can you tell us if WoWs is going to add the "calculator" mod inside the port view? I Always found it very useful when I have to assess how many XP I need to go up a line. OFC I can use the Windows one but I think to have it inside the game feels more easy and convenient to use. Thanks

I think mods are quite helpful as they improve some game mechanics and make things a little easier, That said my point is WHY WG do not simply incorporate all good mods and ban all the Others?
