Doh - I was thinking about doubloon purchases when I wrote that; I should have said 'sale'...

Top line, yes, but the special T10s are more profitable due to having half the service cost of the silver ones...
-
It depends a bit on what your aims are, but I would tend to think Alaska: T9 premium, so one of the better earners in the game, and you don't need to do anything more to her. Silver T10s are only really profitable with a permaflage on, and those are expensive for F2P folk, unless you've bagged a freebie from somewhere; even if you do get a permaflage for your T10, Alaska will - all things being equal - still make more silver. Alaska can train any captain without penalty, which silver T10s can't. There may be a chance of Alaska getting removed from the Armory [sic], as she's been around for a while, and seems to be quite popular; WG haven't said anything about this yet, but that is the usual pattern.

This. Orkan is one of my favourite T8s at the moment, but it helps to have experience already in the various DDs that she plays like i.e. the Ikea line mostly, plus Lightning - she's, kind of, a smokeless Lightning with a heal and radar, but also down a torp launcher (the torps she does get are longer ranged, but the usual 'squeaky toys' from the rest of the Ikea line). Ultimately, her value - like Smaland - comes down to how much use you can make of the radar (I find the answer is often 'quite a lot' although I suspect at least some of that may be down to the fact that many people haven't realised she has radar yet). I do think that as a radar DD she is vastly superior to the PA alternatives, and probably better than Black (tier for tier) - I would rate heal as more valuable than smoke at the moment, given the prevalence of radar ships. Smaland - of course - is the Daddy (as I'm assured the Young People say) of radar DDs, but 2 million free xp?!!! Jayzus!

Just tried to log in to my NA account - thanks for the info all on why it doesn't work today... -
You beat me to it; takes me right back to my aforementioned time in Brighton...

There's a brief explanation on at least one of the (now closed) threads that prompted this one...

'Apt' or apartment?

The slightly entertaining thought occurs that this may be the first time that the EULA have ever been scrutinised by anyone for whom English is their native tongue...?
-
They also don't mention bestiality, unless that is covered by the umbrella term 'sexuality', which would - in turn - perhaps imply that WG categorise them as broadly similar things. No mention of more general animal cruelty either that I can see. Excellent. My next nickname should perhaps be Catherine_The_Great_Torturer_With_A_Blowtorch_And_Pliers_Of_Weevils...?

As I recall, quite a few Spanish folk have 'Jesus' as part of their name; they might be a trifle miffed by the following:
-
I can't believe I've finally read some of the EULA in detail - that can't be natural! Whatever one's views on the rights and wrongs, WG have pretty well covered themselves: Source: https://legal.eu.wargaming.net/en/game-rules-wows/ It doesn't say the association has to be negative to be forbidden, although you could argue a negative association is implied by the rest of the sentence. Incidentally, I'm deeply upset that I can't rename myself 'Digestion' or 'Peristalsis' or something like that...
-
Don't say that - you'll get sued (recalling the ludicrous thing with the Alexander the Great biopic a few years back)...! Instabuy for me: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay-class_patrol_boat Edit: preserved ship - make it so, WG (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Gay_Archer_(P1041))

IMO there is absolutely no problem whatsoever (I grew up in Brighton, so this point of view will surprise no-one), and the sort people who might be offended at the possibility are precisely the sort of people we should *want* to offend. That said, the primary meaning of the word in current usage (to judge by the various online dictionary) does tend towards the fabulous. In that context, and given the ghastly state of the world in which WG have to operate (as a commercial entity) - think Russia, Poland, and other places with backward folk in charge - I'm not really surprised that WG take the view they do, and have policies that align with that. It sucks things that didn't ought to be sucked, but until the world changes for the better, I can't see WG doing much else...

I think mine fell out of a box last Xmas; I just gave her a secondary build and muck about with her in Coop - whilst I'm not a cruiser god (not even close!), I simply find Yoshino better in all important respects. This too!

Me too - at the time, there was nothing much I wanted in the RB, due to a distinct lack of DDs... -
As a cruiser/battleship player, how much help do you expect/need from a DD?

I suppose that's a simple enough definition (which coincidentally, I'm sure, avoids upsetting two massive markets for the company), and explains why Stalin (and Mao, if the PA tree expands in that direction) 'get away' with murdering millions as far as the game and its 'problematic persons' list goes. Hey, kids: if you want to get away with being a mass murderer, make sure you're on the winning side! Being semi-objective, I get why WG would work in these terms; they need something clear and easily understood to avoid having to waste a lot of time (and money) rummaging through a lot of tiny detail...

He proposed dumbing down the game, by removing penalties for stupid torp use beyond 20 secs (from memory - I can't be bothered to check) run time, and an easy way to message - effectively - 'I just fired torps in your direction; get out of the way' (which many, probably including the OP, would take as an end to their responsibility for their own torps). They wouldn't be remotely 'nice' things for the game; quite the reverse, provided you value the cerebral elements of the game. Do you want a game that requires a modicum of thought? If so, great, WOWS is for you, but you'll have to do some learning. If not, there are many - far simpler - things on offer that might be more suitable. There are, judging by the server stats, thousands of players who enjoy WOWS as it is; I really hope you aren't proposing to make the game stupider just for one or two lazy people who can't be bothered to acquire the (basic) skills and knowledge that the bulk of those thousands have (I'm pretty sure it is the bulk, as I've never seen an orange player in my several thousand Coop games, so being that clueless is very unusual)? *Everyone* apart from you and the OP have essentially the same view; if you spent any time around here, you'd know that is almost unheard of, and quite possibly a suggestion that you two are flat-out wrong in this matter.

or this is also +150% free xp etc.:

I don't have it, but the game still taunts me with its "here's what you could have had, if only you didn't suck quite soooooooo much!"...
-
There is an exceptionally good reason for this: WOWS is a game that involves a certain amount of complexity and learning, and a bit of brain function; it is not a simple shooter where having good reflexes will do the trick. You actually have to learn things to be any good at it. This is somewhat unsual in gaming, especially games with a fire button, and - as such - comes as a shock to a lot of players, hence the threads. The cleverer ones learn what they need to and get better at the game; the others less so. This thread contains all the information you need to deal with this non-problem; it's up to you which category of player you decide you wish to fall into. We have listened to the 'problem'; it's an exceptionally simple one. He keeps (more than once, somehow!) turning orange because he hasn't mastered the game's mechanics vis-a-vis torps and their use; meanwhile, everyone else who's made the slightest effort has no significant problem (and there is no significant griefing problem in the game as a result of the disciplinary system). There is no obscure Gordian Knot-esque mysterious problem that would perplex the greatest minds throughout time here; *all* it is is that the game has mechanics that you need to learn to not suck, and that to do tolerably at the game (not even well) you need a tiny bit of foresight. There are plenty of things that could use tweaking in the game, but making torps idiot-proof isn't one of them; that would be akin to making every piece on a chess board a pawn because one or two players get confused by the horsies...
