    I'm pretty sure the absence of that and the backlash is what put Tone back into concept testing. Then again, I'm not sure if it'll ever actually happen, given the amount of new code it requires. Maybe it's going to arrive with the new CV interface. I have a dream.

    Japanese camos were at the discretion of the commander. Most ships never carried any. The fact that all the Japanese camos in the game are variations of green and white probably stems from the late-war camos applied to them when they were rotting in Kure and had to be concealed against the green vegetation of the islands. The only mid-war surface camo for which there is substantial historical documentation is Myoko's because she got stranded in Singapore and lived out there war there, and her camo wasn't green, but mostly variations of grey with brown/dark green patches. The only other Japanese camouflages that aren't BS are the carrier schemes, for which there is a fair amount of historical documentation. tl;dr all the JP destroyer, cruiser, and battleship camos are made-up.

    Agano shares he centerline torpedoes and the weak 15cm armament with destroyers. The turrets aren't true turrets either, more like fully enclosed gun houses. The problem is that Agano is huge; it's longer than the RN CLs. It's not from the same source as the pipe-dream Zao blueprints, but it's also fantasy. The caption says 多摩 (Tama), which is already a Kuma-class CL twenty years older than the CLAA design, so this is probably just the an artist's impressions of what he considered plausible.

    Is Aki Kai really enough of an upgrade over Aki, though? A tube more and some speed, probably at the cost of concealment and turn radius? I mean, I guess it could work. The only real question is the T10.

    Torpedo defense does not affect module damage. The torpedo's alpha strike goes to the module without reduction. (About 90% sure)

    Don't have Aki yet; can't really comment. But idk whether the 4" guns would really cut it at T9...

    A really novel T10 destroyer in the gunboat line would be Agano. But my money is on a German CA-style pipe dream instead. To be honest, I'm not even sure that the T9 will be Aki Kai. The 10cm guns scale badly to T9/10 and Aki Kai would not be a strong ship if it never has the chance to dominate T6 ships. Maybe the HEAP skill can fix all that; we'll see.

    Secondary guns are subject to firing angles just like main batteries. They are not "auras" like anti-aircraft fire.

    Best and worst 3 maps

    Worst - Ocean Boring gameplay where only range control really matters and nothing else. Horrible for cruisers. Just altogether very boring. - Tears of the Desert Mega camp-off. The Fault Line concept doesn't work at higher tiers. - Atlantic / Okinawa Camp-off in the middle and side avenues are bad for the game's flow. Best - Shards - Hotspot - Land of Fire (new iteration, not the campy old one) Shatter can be very funny, but it's hit-and-miss. North is also pretty good.
  15. Imo the worst offender is the "kill a CV in your DD" mission. Do we really want to encourage destroyers to chase after the carrier?!

    Six double turrets are not that rare. A bunch of ships have six. No other ship has seven.

    Takao is still slightly worse than Atago due to the lack of camo.

    Yes, the problem is entirely equivalent to Iowa. It's ironic, really. I like SoDak's armor arrangement a lot on a historical level, but in game terms it's trash.

    Dunno, it's going to be a lot more vulnerable to gunfire. The hull over the belt armor gets overmatched for penetration damage and the citadel is very tall. It's going to be a lot less tanky than NC.

    Yes, Iowa is just a lengthened SoDak with slightly different guns.

    The model perspective is a little weird, but the SoDaks truly were very pudgy ships (I think it looks great!). Like others have said: they have the same beam as North Carolina, but they're much shorter in length.
