7v7 happens because the MM doesn't want to make players wait, not because the map demands a certain tier spread.

German BBs+ tier 6 premium French BB Dunkerque stats in 0.5.9

You do. Play the ship a lot on the public server. Shoot your salvos into the mushrooms and get yourself torped by Minekazes. -

The English on the European server can be a little dubious at times... -

It depends on whether I was swift enough to buy them :p -

Please just make sure such a highly anticipated ship isn't overnerfed even before it is released. -

They gave it full matchmaking unlike other T4 ships battleships. But you know how that "balanced" it. -
The H class have much stronger decks than Tirpitz and should not get citadel'd from plunging fire.

Really awful dispersion. Look at how the first salvo on the Atlanta flares out way in front of its bow even at 8km.

What? Did you even read my post correctly? I said we get more new content than WoT. How many new lines does WoT get each year? We have two new ones and it's still summer. I still don't understand why you're mad at me?????
-
It's hard to tell from the pictures, but if you're so close to the enemy and you mess up the aim by one pixel, everything will miss. One pixel down from the waterline is a whole bunch of meters in your direction from the ship because of the perspective and the dispersion is so small that nothing will hit the ship. This doesn't happen at longer ranges because the camera goes upwards from the ship and gives you a better angle where 1-2 pixels don't mean huge distance offsets. edit: shitty drawing of what i mean hope you understand why i mean, if not, well

Why are you so hostile? I said that the game is still lacking in content and that I'm not happy either. But tech trees don't grow on literal trees and Lesta will never be able to release a tech tree every 3 months. I honestly don't understand why you're getting mad at me. Getting a full line every 5 months is pretty brisk pace.

We get more tech tree content than WoT these days. It's just that the game still has a lot of issues and a lot of people are still missing some of their favorite ships. Imo the new content feels less than it actually is because there is so little in the game right now and you blast through the new content immediately.

WG mentioned (a long time ago) that they want to have more premiums ready before the tree is introduced so people can level their captain. That doesn't necessarily mean Scharnhorst because there's also KA at T3, but one would expect that they are hoping for an earlier release.

How long until we get the British FLEET?

Are we playing different Silent Hunter games...? I'm talking about this: -
Competitive play in WoWS - how it can be done
fnord_disc replied to Nephilimer's topic in General Discussion
This is completely wrong and shows you don't really have an any idea what the hell you're talking about. There is only one roll every second for (aa_dmg)/(plane_hp), but a certain frequency of kills/non-kills is guaranteed and overwrites whatever value the rng produces. So, in the end, the random number space does not span the entire frequency range. If you want to prove me wrong, make a training room, send some planes at AA, measure the time it takes the AI to shoot the squadrons down and jack it into a Fourier transform. Show me it's a full spectrum. Right, module death is also a random dmg/hp roll. I forgot that. -
If you play the Colorado better, that's fine. It has a lot going for it over the Nagato, but the dispersion isn't part of it. If you don't believe me, go to the port view and divide the listed horizontal dispersion by the range to get dispersion/meter distance and you'll see that Nagato has lower dispersion = better accuracy. The sigma is the same, but it's a scalar for the dispersion, so it's still better.
-
No, Nagato's guns are more accurate in both dimensions above 10km and they have (very slightly) more penetration. They also have 25% more normalization. Hmm, at long range, yes, because Colorado's shells are lighter and the velocity lower and they fall at a steeper angle onto the hit zones.
-
No they aren't.

Silent Hunter had barely enough pixels on the screen to show two different frontal turrets. -

Tell me, then. I guess I forgot the 1/100 detonation roll. Caught me! Anything else, Professor Vulgarian? -
Competitive play in WoWS - how it can be done
fnord_disc replied to Nephilimer's topic in General Discussion
I expected this from you. You think you understand everything, but you really don't. I rarely see you contributing to any discussion constructively. WoWs has no RNG outside of dispersion. Even the AA mechanic is quasi-deterministic because it has min-max values for frequency. -
The other way around is comfortable though. If they start off on starboard, then you rotate to port, the C turret will only do a 90°+ arc. Also, the ship has excellent armor, so you can just go broadside and not give a rat's.
-
Looked it up just now and books say they could fire to both sides.

Competitive play in WoWS - how it can be done

This is an illusion. At the number of shells you fire every match, statistical outliers are rare. Yes, dispersion on battleships is high and you only fire about 100 shots per game, but the majority of games (not salvos) fall into the statistical average in terms of dispersion patterns. Dispersion is not high enough and shot count not low enough to produce large and frequent statistical outliers. Luck is not what decides most games, otherwise people wouldn't get high winrates in their battleships. Also, the only reason you feel decision making is more important in Poker or Blackjack is because those games have discrete decision points each turn and WoWs (or, really, most computer games now) is continuous. All discrete games give the illusion of more strategic depth than is actually present - it's a mind trick based on what the player thinks is predictable. I'm not saying WoWs has more or less depth than Poker, but to say the two cannot be compared is simply wrong. All games are comparable on some level and can be analyzed using the same models. Are you suggesting Poker is played because it offers the most depth and competitiveness? Don't be ridiculous. I don't want to be condescending, but you're both judging something with no or very little background in stochastics. -
lol those turret arcs. I didn't think they would allow that.
