    French Battleships

    My experience, played T5,6 , 7 and 8 so far. I sort of enjoyed playing them up to T7. Tier 6 had some really nice guns, nice sound to them as well. Tier 7 was a bit more difficult but still playable and entertaining ... partially. But when I got to Richelieu (spelling sold separately) I started to really really really have to work hard to get just above mediocre damage dealt to enemy ships. It feels like Cruiser guns with the reload time of battleship guns. Except, cruiser guns does not have this bad dispersion. Mostly one has to get really close to enemy ships to be able to do good damage. The amount of broken HE/AP-shells is quite sad to be honest. I see that players actually do manage to get a sort of average damage dealt in the online statistics but personally, I grew tired of trying and put this line of ships on pause indefinitely. That in combination with the "Easy to penetrate"-armor makes it quite horrible. Sure, I "can" do really nice rounds with it if I do nothing else than play flawlessly without a single mistake and yes I can tank with it but I have to place it in the same category as Izumo.. (Just a really bad ship) After a while I just felt that there was no enjoyment playing it, so I stopped. I just do not have the time/energy to waste on bad experiences. I also know from previous experience that WG most of the time introduces a ship or 2 in every line that most players would want to "FREE-XP" their way past, so that people buy more doubloons. But after hearing that T9 and TX have a lot of issues also.. I lost interest in the line entirely :) /me

    I also want to show this example: In this video I have just died. 2 seconds into the video I press "Tab" to view the teams, if you look at the incomming fire (flying bullets), you can see that they suddenly freeze mid air. Then at 5 seconds it all starts working again, that is a 3 second freeze just to open the tab-screen. Sadly these freeze-lags can be deadly at times as close combat fights a lot of the time are handled and reacted to within a split second. In the video I have aslains mod installed with some options, but the problem remains the same without the mod installed. Best Regards Me

    1. Description Lag/temporarily freezing related bug report 2. Reproduction steps I play a match and for example hold the ctrl-key to be able to get a mouse cursor to click on targets for AA or secondary guns. (specially when close to enemy ships) 3. Result The game freezes for between 1 and 4 seconds , possibly loading some data during this event. 4. Expected result I would expect no freeze-lags 5. Technical details This is in no way related to my hardware as the whole game and OS is running on/from a extremely fast M2-SSD Drive. My Hardware is as follows: CPU: I7-6700K (4Gh, stock clock speed) RAM: 32 GB DDR 4 y , (Corsair 2400Mhz CL14 Vengeance) GFX: Asus Strix GTX 1080 TI Resolution: 3440x1440@100hz OS: Windows 10 64 bit ofcourse.     Feedback regarding the Port view and the Division window. (Yes, I see now that others posted about this too but you should really really listen to the feedback) Earlier we used to see division status right under campaigns/missions on the left side in the port-dock-view. Now you have removed this function from that location and instead introduced it as a minimize-able window. I understand your reasons for it, seeing as not everyone has a high enough resolution to display it all there. However, I must say that this solution really really really annoys the fudge out of us. Between every round I have to open up that window to see what tier and/or ships my division mates have selected before I can chose my ship. It is not something that one can get used to, it is something that annoys us more and more and more and more every single time. I strongly urge you to put it back and instead remove something else that is not used as often, such as the campaign selection or something similar. Or perhaps have a more dynamic port that senses client resolution? Or perhaps make it an option to have it listed there and not only in some minimized view. Ps . The Badges are just a waste of energy and time by the developers. If I could, I would remove them from my game entirely. I mean, I don't even know how to used them and/or what to use them for. And even if I did, I would not. Oh, and the new camera system in port just makes me dizzy and makes me not look at the boats in the port. I wonder if you asked any testers before deploying these "Features". If you did then perhaps you have the wrong testers? .Ds
  10. That is not entirely correct. If you are unspotted while shooting in the smoke, there is no timer for detection range when leaving the smoke. You can exit right away as if you did not shoot at all. The 20 seconds only matter if you were spotted in the first place. /Me

    You guys at war-gaming seriously have to make the installer better. Really really better. I am running on a 1-Gbit both ways connection. I7 4ghz cpu 32 gb ddr 4 ram 256GB M2 drive (which is kind of the fastest hdd you can have nowadays) I am currently reinstalling the game because your update broke my game. And so far it has taken almost 30 minutes and it is not yet ready to play. Not only does it take a long time, the computer gets really affected performance wise during the installation. I can only imagine what it is like for people with DSL and mechanical hard drives I mean, it can not be hard to find a better solution.. And yes, I know that the servers that you host your files on is one of the limitations. /Me

    It has worked fine the last few patches for me. Except the this update broke my game instead. You have to make sure that the separate updater is running in the background and that your pc is running and your user has to be logged in :) /Me
  15. So, the update to the smoke system was to prevent camping in smoke. The only thing it will change is ships will simply camp in smoke further away from the flags due to the greater detection range now. In my opinion this change is kind of stupid. And yes, I play destroyers mostly. /Me

    Update 0.6.11 - Bug Reports

    1. Description: Combat Mission progress bars are still screwed up. 2. Reproduction steps Play combat missions and hope for the worst :) 3. Result Check image 4. Expected result Progress-bar should be functioning properly 5. Technical details In the screenshot you can see 1 long progress bar in the left combat mission window. It represents 25 aircraft being shot down and that part is completed. The problem is that the bar for fire damage is not visible so I can not tell how far along I am on that one. Sadly this is not the first time Me, my friends and others in this forum have had issues with the combat missions windows, it seems to be quite frequent. Mostly a full restart of the game solves it but I do not think we as end users should accept that as a solution the year 2017 , probably in the 90's. /Me

    Don't worry, you will probably get the chance to earn other ships. Like the Russian Battleship during this month. Being able to give away ships sounds a bit like it takes away the point of attending events. So sadly that does not have my vote :) /Me

    Currently had one of those crashes again. A real crash, not one of those loading hang-freezes. This time I was in my kutozov, approaching the first flag to cap. Not detected yet.. CRASH. Wait for game to exit. Restart game (takes a long time despite running on an M2-drive on a 4.5ghz, 32gb ddr4 rig) log in. Wait for match to resume. Find myself detected and citadelled to death just as I get back in game. Getting angry as fudge. I am thinking the crash occurred just as the enemy ships were about to get spotted and that "loading" triggered the crash. Sadly the game did not generate a crash-file of its own.     This is a feature request. I know this has been asked for before by several players. And I know the ships can be hidden by the use of filters. But. This feature request still remains. Please read all the way to the end before raging :) 1. Please make it possible to sell ARP/Dragon ships (even if they would be sold for 0 credits) 2. Please make it possible to dismiss ARP/Dragon commanders. And seriously, it can not be that hard to implement this in the game, can it? The reason is that a lot of us players feel that these have no place in the game or have no intention of using them. They even soil the game slightly with their presence. This feature would also remove a lot of support tickets regarding help with removing these ships through the support team. I personally do not mind seeing ARP/Dragon ships out there in the battlefield as long as I can keep my own port clean and to my own liking. I also like the fact that you give us a chance to earn special ships like these on occasion. Just don't force it upon us players like this. Best Regards Me

    1. Description Weekly mission not possible to complete or completely bugged out. (Similar to but not the same as : ) 2. Reproduction steps Play the game and complete the combat mission steps 3. Result Halfway through them both , the progress bar started looking really odd., same as the above link to that other post It looked like I had done step 2,3 and 4 of Battle of Cape Esperance but not step 1. Please note that the screenshot shows my missions after I completed several steps and no longer can complete them as they reset and got locked somehow. 4.   23. So. I would like to ask WG a question about server side settings for matches. In this case I will use the Conqueror as an example. (because of its HE penetration and AP Overpen feature) I have noticed that the overpen/pen/damage dealt per hit varies a lot, and this is perfectly fine. However, it seems to be static inside every round. One round I can do citadel/heavy damage with AP on every single ship I hit, the next round AP absolutely does not work on any enemy ship and I have to use HE. A third round HE becomes super effective for the whole round. My point is, it is never varying within the same round, which makes me think you (WG) set random variables on your server side per each match and call it RNG , except it isnt RNG when it stays for a whole round. This absolutely cancels out any case of me aiming bad randomly (which happens on occasion) I would just like to know if you can confirm this or if you other players feel the same thing.     Correct me if I am wrong but you are not WG right? :) So your responses are conclusions from your own game play and logical reasoning or from information you have heard through rumors right? The basic stuff you type in your replies are facts I know all too well and it has taken me a very long time of testing before actually asking this question. So I still reserve my right to consider a server side penetration/fire chance/detonation chance modifier that is applied on top/along side with your own modifiers that could be as much as up to 3% difference to make rounds differ from each other. I would absolutely not ask the question if I did not see a clear pattern beyond all shadow of a doubt through my matches and yes, when using the same ship over and over and over and over again. And so far only one person has responded to this thread :) I hope to see more replies. Best Regards Me

    ok, I suppose I trust your view. The question was not about me dealing bad damage. It was that I felt that damage dealing possibilities were different consistently between rounds
