Asashio - Just want to address the elephant in the room.
Flaming_Bunny replied to Flaming_Bunny's topic in General Discussion
Yea, no, it is not a loss. Like I said, I am not selling it, nor am I displeased about the ship itself. Pretty sure I can perform decently with it. My fault was this: I was under the impression that deep water torpedoes was a standard type of torpedoes and thus did not give it a second though and therefore did not try to look for additional limitations within them. I know the forums is where you get a lot of info. It is exceedingly annoying when everyone and their grandma has their own input in a thread , resulting in 97 posts on the matter. The title in the other thread mentioned here stated that it was the timing of the launch of the ship that was the subject, not its different torpedoes. I just seriously hate reading long texts, as I wrote, I have a partial dyslexia (I read sentences as whole and not word by word) And no one is to blame for my condition. I guess I am pointing with my whole hand at WG for not being very informative. At the same time I guess I also want to give all the new uninformed players a voice by expressing this. I can only imagine how many new players that wants a cool tier 8 ship only to fail from the get go as they lacked some information upon the purchase. Mest Regards Me -

Yepp you are right. Still, I admit that I missed it and I will be far from the last one to miss it, which is why I mentioned it. /Me -

Yea, I really think it should not be required to look through a whole forum or read a whole wiki to find that part out. /me -
New Unsporting conduct system needs to be fixed
Flaming_Bunny replied to MIKE_HYDRA's topic in Archive
I have been disconnected 2 times (logged out) , experienced lag spikes (server side as all players in the same match got them) with ping times rocketing up to 900ms. And I am on a very very stable fiber connection, not using wireless at home.. -
You mean like this: Sadly this also happens for the new awful bullet travel sound too.. And when that happens, all you hear is Shwoo, shwoo, shwoo, shwoo on repeat. :) /Me

1. Description Audio > speech > English pirate not working as expected 2. Reproduction steps Assign Voiceover language to "English Pirate" Set Voiceover modification to "Standard" (can not find a logical choice for pirate) 3. Result In game sounds are played as "Fancy Brittish instead" of "Pirate English" 4. Expected result I want "Yaarrrs!", "Neptunes beard", "Lard ho!" and such. 5. Technical details Screenshot of settings: Best Regards Me

I have not seen daily missions in god knows how long. Nowadays we only have combat missions, events and personal combat missions. So my guess is that it is normal. /me

Wonder how many more players that get kicked out during the game. I personally have not been kicked out in god knows how long, and I have played a lot. I do think I had 2 crashes the last 2 weeks total. But then again, I have a stable 1 gbit fiber-connection so maybe that helps on my end. /Me

Just let it be :) We do not get consolidation gifts for every single bug in the game. It is big enough of them to admit that there was a problem on their side. With updates and new features there is bound to be issues, that is the nature of game development for any game. (Even in live production) We learn more from failures than from never having any issues. Be happy with the 3 days. :)

I have not had any issues after the last patch, nor has any of my friends. I mean, I hope you find the answer to fixing it or so. I suggest doing what the staff at wargaming said in similar cases, send a wg check report to them. Possibly through this guide: https://eu.wargaming.net/support/en/products/wows/articles/65/ That way they can see more details about the issue. Best Regards Me

I have 2 accounts. I get those emails to my other account that I never use, just because it is never used. Perhaps this is a similar case? /Me

Yueyang is breaking the TX DD balance
Flaming_Bunny replied to dCK_Ad_Hominem's topic in General Discussion
So, I did my training round test. And damage on bullet impact is pretty much exactly the same between the 2 ships. Both AP and HE. Both did a max of around 3500 per HE hit on all ships as long as you get good hits on the super-structure Both did a max of bit over 12000 per volley when using AP at close range broadside to Minotaur and Moskva at stupidly close range. Both did between 3000 and 4000 max when using AP on a Hindenburg broadside at close range. At max range, shooting 3 salvos HE on battleships and all bullets hit, would result in around 6200 damage dealt using both ships. The one interesting thing I found was that the Yueyangs armor is crap compared to the Gearing. Using both the Yueyang and Gearing, at close range (2-3km distance) , using HE, The yueyang would take up to 3500 damage even if you hit the side armor. But when hitting the Gearing in the same spots, most of the bullets would break or just deal around 1290 damage. So, my conclusion is : I was wrong regarding better guns. I learned that the Yueyang is easier to kill at broadside (Which would never really happen unless you find a player that still has a lot to learn) Of course the deep water torpedoes being detected at 800 meters is scary for battleships, I also think they have a higher chance of causing flooding. (could be wrong) And the Radar is scary for other destroyers, but at the cost of having no smoke. And the Gearing is awesome with its 16.5km torps (I am using the faster torp commander skill getting 13.5~ km torps on that too) And other destroyers fear the gearing too. And the Gearing smoke is the best in game, lasting for more than 2 minutes. So in the end. I really do not think one is better than the other. And on that note. I am pretty sure I have nothing more to add to this thread :) /Me -
Yueyang is breaking the TX DD balance
Flaming_Bunny replied to dCK_Ad_Hominem's topic in General Discussion
That's the thing. Regarding Penetration. If you look at the commander skill that adds 30% penetration to HE bullets. If there is no penetration at all, then 30% of nothing is nothing so it would have no effect. So I am just guessing that there is some kind of penetration. For example. I do not know how many times I have citadelled low tier British cruisers with HE guns on destroyers but a lot of times for sure. Also . British Battleships have a higher penetration on its HE than other ships, that also proves that there is at least some factor of penetration. Heck, even the game lists Successful HE hits as penetrations: But the game has some sort of mechanic for bullet vs armor interaction also. Even if I can not explain the reason or the logic it feels like I land more damage per hit with the Yueyang than with the Gearing. Perhaps it is time for a training-round-test :) /Me -
Yueyang is breaking the TX DD balance
Flaming_Bunny replied to dCK_Ad_Hominem's topic in General Discussion
So . The difference is mostly that you can either almost perma-smoke , there is like a few seconds between your last smoke running out and your new smoke is available if you run T2-smokes and consumable reload speed on the commander skills. However. Replace your smoke with Radar (7.5m range, default duration 20 seconds, 28 seconds with the radar upgrade that some ppl got in a supercontainer) then most of the time you can scare other destroyers away before you get spotted. Regarding the guns. When I compare the Gearing and the Yueyangs guns, they are identical in the statistics you see in port. They are the same model, but that does not mean they do not have different armor interaction. Feeling wise, it feels like I do a bit more damage per salvo/hit with the yueyang than with the gearing (and I love my gearing also) I mean, a full salvo HE usually lands between 2500 and 3000 from the yueyang guns, while I get around 1500-2500 with the gearing. Maybe different fuse-time on the bullets? Sadly I could not find any data for fuse-time in the game on these boats. The dispersion also seems to differ. Perhaps it is just the sound of the guns that distract me less on the yueyang than on the gearing that makes me able to aim better ;) But in the end, If I meet a gearing when I am in my yueyang I feel that I can win more easily than the other way around when using guns. I think the main thing players learn when they start playing the yueyang is to focus torpedos on bigger ships only and guns on all ships. And this is the best way to deal damage to the enemy team. (Note, my best destroyer performance is with the Yugomo and Shimakaze so I know how nice it is to kill destroyers with torpedoes) I have a feeling that the yueyang will get nerfed, but personally I think it is good as it is. With the radar you have no smoke, without smoke you are a prime target for carriers. But if you team up with another destroyer with smoke and you have your radar then it can get a little bit OP. My friend and I sometimes do an odd mix of a smoke-fitted Khaba and me with the radar-yueyang. Works extremely well. Best Regards Me -

The yueyang is indeed a different destroyer. This is what I had in random battles one day. Best Regards Me -
Actually they did change the Bullets vs Armor interaction in 7.2.1 The explanation was : We enhanced the interaction between the shells and ship's armor during contact. We also fixed bugs that caused uncommon situations in battle, namely: Citadel penetration caused by an HE shell in the areas where penetration is not possible. Battleship detonation as a result of an HE hit from a destroyer. Abnormally low damage caused by torpedoes to a destroyer with full HP. The passing of a standard (not a deep-water) torpedo under a destroyer's hull without exploding. Can be read here : https://worldofwarships.com/en/news/common/update-072/ Best Regards Me

I totally agree. Oh, also roll back the fletcher gun sounds that were introduced a few patches back. They literally make me not want to play the fletcher. /Me

Regarding the new flag locations on maps like Hot Spot, Sleeping Giant and Land of fire. I do not know if your intention was to try to create less camping or perhaps you had some other idea. I have to say that Hot Spot was my favorite map as it was with the 3 flags. Really do no think you should mess with that map. However, we have tried the Sleeping Giant and Hot Spot with the new flag locations. The new layout creates stale mate camping situations instead of improving the battle. I am all for improvements and trying to create change but I personally did not like this particular change. Best Regards Me

Oh. I also get a lot of sound glitches, like clicks and strange sounds that should not be there. Constantly..
-
1. Description New bullet travel sound bugs a lot and creates a lot of distraction. 2. Reproduction steps Play the game and let bullets fly over you 3. Result Sometimes the "Fade-in" and "Fade-out" cuts out early and it sounds horrible. Sometimes the sound-effect hangs and gets played on repeat in some areas of the map (note this happens on the ship horn also since earlier patches) 4. Expected result Well for one I think the sound level on these "flying bullets" is way too lound I expect the sound effects to not hang and the effects to be played back in a normal way, not cut early or "surprise-explode" volume wise in our ears. 5. Technical details As a destroyer capping flags, being in the center of all flying bullets it becomes a really really negative experience. 6. Additional I would like an option to completely turn off boat horn sounds and bullet travel sounds, each separately. Example of horn sound hanging : Example of sound glitching: (Sadly not bullet sounds in this one and you have to listen up quite well to hear it after halfway)

So, I wonder. Does anyone like the izumo at all? I remember playing it a very long time ago. I remember it being crap. Guns hard to aim with, armor really easy to citadel, just look at me using my Kurfurst on to shoot it: It has the lowest average damage, lowest average kills per match and lowest average winrate of all battleships in tier 9. It has the second lowest average XP and second lowest performing AA. I hear people saying they hate this ship. Basically, it does not have that much going for it at all. I know that if you actually land shots with it you can do a lot of damage, as I learned the hard way but I still wonder. Should this ship really be allowed to be this bad in general? Best Regards Me

Where are all the cruisers at?

Where are all the cruisers at?
Flaming_Bunny replied to SirLloydHigginsBoomBoom's topic in General Discussion
Hmm. It is good that you have ideas. I do not agree on this one though. The wanted solution is to make people want to play cruisers, not to force them. For the same reason I do not think a temporary campaign that focuses on cruisers would work, it would possibly just make players angry to be forced to have to play something they do not like playing. Also , removing so many battleships from a match would result in less HP on the battlefield. This in return means less HP to deal damage too, meaning less experience to earn for everyone in the match. Basically resulting in a very negative experience for everyone included. I could however agree on a max 3 dd limit per match. Mostly because a flood of destroyers make a match quite negative for everyone. /Me -
Where are all the cruisers at?
Flaming_Bunny replied to SirLloydHigginsBoomBoom's topic in General Discussion
Answering your topic though. First off, I want to say that I agree, this is in part proof that cruisers are less attractive to play to the bigger portion of players. Someone wrote that players should learn how to play cruisers. Someone else suggested that you play cruiser to change it. None of the above fixes the current situation. I can honestly say that I suck at cruisers and I play destroyers mostly, sometimes I play battleships, even carriers on occasion. I personally just dislike playing cruisers, no matter what the reason is, you can call me a noob or tell me to l2p but it will not change the fact. The reason I do not wish to "Learn how to play" cruisers is because my time in the game is limited by work and other social activities. This game is not my job, I am not forced to play it, so I chose to play what I like to play. A game by definition is supposed to be entertainment. (While some see it as a competition, this is not how everyone sees it) And I can almost guarantee that this is how everyone plays this game, they play what they feel works for them. And this is why I agree with you. Cruisers require a certain skill-level and experience. Truth be told cruisers can deal just as much damage as any battleship or possibly even more because of its fire rate and ability to not over-pen ;) But They are more challenging and result in a very negative experience if you do not know how to play them. That is why the bigger portion of players chose other ships. And that is most probably the cause of this situation. I really do not see any good solution to solve this situation though. Just wanted to vent my opinion, as this is a forum after all. Oh.. Also the french battleships are new so that is a big reason for that many battleships playing. Also another reason some do not like cruisers is the risk of having to play maps like Ocean or Okinawa. Best Regards Me
