Clan Battles season 7 discussion/predictions
Redcap375 replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
It's the build up and the social aspect too don't forget. Doing add-hoc training sessions and that lot is just disjointed. You will also create more and more burn out during the game. I happens quite alot already when they have structured game mode times, never mind when it's constant. Not to mention to waiting times in trying to find a team MM wise. CB's is the only thing left that is really keeping me in this game and originally I wanted CB's all the time. But it's not practical with a number of things. -

It will lose it's flare if they did it all the time. Some clans put alot of prep into CB's with players and tactics ect.. -
Clan Battles season 7 discussion/predictions
Redcap375 replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
We will just have to see where it goes, but like @GarrusBrutus has rightly stated, it will mix things up with flanking BB's. Will it cause a static game play or more fast action? More Div work within CB's? Who knows. But i'm not against 2 BB's or 8v8 in principle, it's something different. However, if i was in a small clan then hell yeah i would be annoyed. Why do we think they are implementing 2 BB's? Always cynical -

And small clans will suffer more. -
Its an observation, not an argument. Well you have a stronger case with the Col then, not the Nag....Just saying In fact, the Hood is your worst tier 7 BB, just like mine. No shame in that. Anyway, let people play them and they can figure it out themselves.
-
The Nag IMHO is the better ship. People can believe me or not, doesn't matter, it's their choice. Come on, your own stats tell you that quite a lot regarding the Nag and Hood both in damage and WR.
-
It's built in lads, come on. 1/4 rule remember! Not the actual Captain skill
-
Mark my words, It will get even worse.
-
Not as far as I know, so I really should have added "own opinion" to be honest. But I have no axe to grind or personal agenda, just my own observations that's all at present. If you would have asked me say 3 years ago, I would have given a different answer.

Thing is...It's not even fun being on the Enemy team as you know just how they feel. But these games are becoming a lot more frequent. More than ever. The kicker is that it's not a case of your team being individually better or even playing better, but the enemy being extremely bad. That's worrying.
-
Well my opinion: First and this might sound sad, but you need a connection with the ship. A ship you feel comfortable with and understand. Not only that but one that fits your playstyle and to an extent, your mood. So...The KG5. When you talk about BBs kiting this is the ship i would want to use. You know what you get....HE. Lots of HE. Nothing sets fires from a silver BB at that tier like the KG5. Now I don't like HE spamming BBs or even the kite playstyle, but sometimes you just want a heavy napalm battle and if the Conq is too high then the KG5 comes second. Now the Nelson is also good at this but for some reason, probably to do with the front guns and speed, I tend to kite less in it. The KG5 I would. The Gneu..Loved this ship and still do. It's blunt force trauma that fits my BB tanking playstye. It's AA used to be very good (not now) and those i couldn't kill with guns ended up getting torped. Mainly bow-on Nelsons. Tier 7 is still a pushing and getting involved having fun tier and it fits the bill nicely. It tanks like a complete boss! The Sinop...Nothing to say really that we don't already know. It's far too strong with the strengths far outweighing the negatives. The Sharn..Cruiser killer 101. You see the cruisers then kill them. Don't spend time trying to kill BB s in the early game, just pick off the cruisers. Then when they are all dead you move into brawling range and use your speed to torp. If in doubt, Throw IFHE HE at angled targets as your AP pen against most BBs are useless. It's a fun ship to play and I like it's fast speed Nelson..This is a good solid ship when played by someone who isn't called Redcap375, Lol. This is a classic case of "get gud" with this ship and I'm still getting getting gud with this. My main problem was using only one ammo type, HE. The second was doing the bow-on play too much, it's certainly not the Lennin is it? It eats cit on its nose. 8 games in it and lost 6, as soon as the penny dropped i won the next 2 with flying colours and it feels solid. My div mates love it, solid ship in ranked and can see why IMHO it has more potential then the HOOD. The Nag..Hits like a truck, accurate and long range. Like someone has already mentioned about the Hood(and I agree with) is that they don't cit many BB even when broadside. If the Nag hits a BB broadside then it's cit city. Had a few games when secondary spec and was surprising good (even though I would defo still full tank build it). Seems like the same tankness as the Hood but with more HP. It's a manly man's BB and the old girl is still a good ship. I would put those five ships above the Hood. But like I said, I will give it some more chances, just like the Nelson. It might just be a case of getting used to it. And the rest? I simply hated the Colorado as it was far too slow, short range and eats HE with low HP. Now I know it has received buffs since I played it many moons ago, but it just brings crap WOWS memories play it and free XP in the end. I actually have good damage in it, but doing damage don't always win games. Its poor ability to redeploy or "get out of dodge" due to its speed and get where it's needs too be to help the team, hurts it too much for my tastes. The Lyon is a good ship really. However, I didn't like the low punch of the main guns, it's shotgun accuracy and i found myself using HE quite a lot which I don't like in BB. slow turrets, slow ship, had bad angles of main guns.... Yeah, not my kinda ship. If I wanted to kill crusiers (which it can devastate) I would pick the Sharn instead as i feel far more comfortable in it. It's a good ship but I would rather play the Hood then the Lyon if push came to shove. As least the Hood can dart around with good firing angles! So going back to the Hood, I don't think it would fit my players regardless. Personally, I don't like kiting BBs. My view is if you wanna do stuff like that, pick a cruiser instead because it's better at it and your not using a BB slot. kiting has its place in a BB, but it should not be the tactic or mindset from the start, not from a BB. However, wide flanking (another tactic) and something I do like is not the same as kiting as your still pushing to some extent. That's why I like ships like the Republic and Alsare. BBs are there to absorbs damage in my books and people forget this. If they are kiting then the poor cruisers are getting it instead, if their getting it then the DDs are toast as they have no support. Not only that but you don't win games kiting and even though you might be doing good damage, your not actually contributing to the Battle in a way you should. The conq really taught me that damage alone doesn't win games. But I understand that my playstyle might not be yours. They are also my own opinions and experience on the ships and understand that other people's may differ. Apologies for the grammar but writing off a phone. Please feel free to check my BB stats currently sitting at 60%. Not the greatest, but certainty not the worse and there are far better Unicom players then me as I play most classes, not just one. However my PR is very high (actually the highest of all my classes ) meaning that I am contributing the best i possibly can in any given battle. That is all you can ask for from any BB player to be honest. Go down hard and make them play for each HP they take from you

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

Chap... That is what you call a spanking GJ in your CV. Didn't even have time to do meaningful damage and had to settle for scraps but boy did that CV have it in for me. He did fly into like 4 other ships AA too. Good flanking push. -
Because AP doesn't cut it regardless? It's too unreliable in a game with too much RNG as it is.lol Might just try HE to see if that's better..
-
Which is fair enough but that is simply another example of HE spamming BB's which is simply murdering the game. Not only that but other BB's are better HE spammers (like the nelson, KG5 and even the Lyon). It's not even in the top 6: It's even lower regarding damage and I can see why to be honest. It's a balanced ship for premium, I will give it that, but it's not for me. Sinop U.S.S.R. 589 960 54.18 % 1.03 60 885 1 588 3.37 1.81 Nelson U.K. 1 327 798 54.06 % 0.93 60 773 1 442 1.56 1.67 Lyon France 2 901 344 52.54 % 0.96 55 224 1 340 2.12 1.90 King George V U.K. 2 914 214 52.44 % 0.86 56 675 1 327 1.38 1.63 Scharnhorst Germany 6 126 429 51.52 % 0.86 48 729 1 321 1.72 1.46 Duke of York U.K. 1 107 413 51.04 % 0.81 52 836 1 329 2.06 1.43

Oh so that is what I am doing wrong then? Is spamming HE the way forward with the HOOD? I hope not.
-
How about you turn the whole thing around and play it in a brawl then? Shan wins every time. look this isn't a one to one comparison of BB's , You play a ships to it's own strengths. You know what you get with the Sharn, Nelson and Sinop. You know what you get with the Sharn, you know you will cit a cruiser on it's broadside, not the RNG over-pen lotto with the Hood it feels, not to mention Over-pens on BB's like the Nag. That 55,000 damage should have been like 100,000+ with some of easy shots on broadside targets, but yeah, Over pens. It would have been 3 dead ships in the Sinop. Look this is only my opinion, but personally the Hood is down on my list and would recommend other BBs if asked.
-
No, i'll stop you there. They ARE BB's, your right. They all shin in their owns areas. A shan is more than capable of killing a hood. You kite away then fine, but the Hood is only firing only 4 guns back to the Sharns 6 faster firing fire-starting ones. The Sharn is a Pocket BB, so it was designed to take out heavy crusiers and move faster than it's heavy BB counterparts. But up close and personal it's still a great ship. Plant torps into the Hood and no more hood I have all of them, the Hood, Nelson, Sharn and Sinop and the last on my list would be the Hood. Hey, I love this ship and it's history and like I said, my first airfix (I also still plan of remote controlling one with 150: scale). But I would pick the others over it. The Sinop being the strongest due to it's stupid powerful guns and armour.
-
Not noticed anything aiming/sigma wise. That was always okish. But yeah the shells are a Nerf. And how is that silly to compare it with OTHER BBS? IMHO they are better: 1) Nelson hard hitting zombie heal fire starting guns 2) Sharn is one of the best cruiser killers there is and torps for the big boys 3) Sinop? Well that's just simply too much for tier 7 and too strong. Either way, now, it's AA is pants. AA of old is gone, it's a lot worse and trust me as I've dropped a few Hoods in CV's in the past. Wow slow turret turn you say? Well that must balance it out then? lol. Without a showdown of a doubt, the Sinop is the most powerful tier 7 BB pound for pound there is. Did they really think sticking 403mm guns on a tier 7 BB would be a good idea? Not only that but with the armour to match it too? It's comical. It's just straight up cits a Nelson when bow-on, never mind a Sharn.
-
My first Air-fix model.....Anyway, funny how you brought the Hood up. I played 2 games in the hood yesterday after they apparently "buffed" it (I was watching some Youtube vids and Nosters one on the changed Hood came up). So i gave it ago again with the Nelson Captain. I recalled the old version alright but nothing fantastic. It was fast, cruiser killing guns and fast. Oh and that defensive AA consumable which being an old RTS CV player was a pain, but not too bad as it didn't really effect torp bombs from distance, only bombers would get slaughtered. It was alright but was never my fist pick at tier 7. Played it yesterday and i actually found it worse The guns lads. The guns used to really screw up cruisers but now it's nothing but over pen after over pen. They still have the same accuracy i remember so thats good, but that AA consumable is now completely useless. The last game was a CV game and he hounded me for 1/3 of the game. I did alright against him but that was more due to the turning circle and his bad aiming. The AA guns only shot down 7 planes the whole game. It used to get around 30 on the RST. I actually saved the after battle report as it showed 3/4 of my shells were overpens. 4 salvos against a Nag (broadside and slightly angled) and far too many bounces and overpens. Ships like the Sinop would just have blapped it. You know, those "he's dead" kinda moments and he sails away with like only 3000 damage. LIKE WHAT! Now i know RNG and 2 games since the change is nothing. But i feel like both the change and the rework has pushed this ship further back in my books. The Sharn, Nelson and Sinop are better at that tier to name a few. I personally see it as a nerf, not a buff. P.s. First game was tier 7 and the second game was tier 9 mainly.

@MrConway, Is their any scope to increase the numbers of clan members above 50? People tend to stay within the games more when getting involved with the social aspect and I believe increasing the numbers will help with this . I understand the possible short term financial negatives with doing this, but I believe in the long run it will in fact increase revenue as more people will stay in the game. We have had a massive increase on numbers as people are simply getting fed up of going solo and want to Div with likeminded people. People like active clans and getting involved with competitions and many of the smaller clans simply can not provide this, even though they are doing a great job. Instead of WG losing players hand over fist, we would rather them have a go within an established clan first then decided. We are currently full but have more players still wanting to join and have a laugh. The Inn is currently full, any chance for planning permission for a extension? Would an increase of say 10 players be within the realms of possibility? Chaps, are their other clans who would also like to see the numbers increase? Those that don't, reasons? I was going to post this within the "suggestions" section but wanted to get the flavour first from you guys. Kind Regards, Mr Red.
-
And how many does WOT have in their clans...100 is it? And we only have 50. Hummm. I think WG are really missing a trick not increasing it. Has it dominated WOT? I haven't really played WOT for like 5 years so its a genuine question.

What did you get from 'Premium T6 Ship' container?
Redcap375 replied to koliber_1984's topic in General Discussion
Long story short is that there are better silver cruisers, never mind premium ones. But anyway, if you enjoy it then cool but wouldn't recommend it. Especially to new/less experienced players as most will just get themselves killed with the low gun range. I'll stick with the Buddy at that tier cruiser wise. But it's free so cant really moan. Just my opinion to people who are thinking of getting it. -
I'm done, quality of games made me quit.
Redcap375 replied to anonym_PYC0RAuRIwe4's topic in General Discussion
Amen. ^^^^ Some of the players today......Simply awful. This is the lowest lads. -

Redcap375 replied to koliber_1984's topic in General Discussion
All of which is great right..Until you get hit. And I know how to WASD, sometimes as you know RNG decides everything. Not only that but: 1) The guns don't even keep up with your turning. That is criminal for a Light cruiser. 2) It's fire is pathetic and it's HE damage is pathetic. 3) It's got very very short range when not using a consumable which is a lot, forcing you to get far too close. 4) Torps are slow and only 3 No, I couldn't with a clear mind tell anyone to buy this. It's too underwhelming. But I will give it a few more goes just because.
