Returning CV player...wtf happend to CVs?
Redcap375 replied to Kasseopea's topic in General Discussion
This^^ OP..... You remember when you lost ALL your planes when trying to torp a single Des with tier 8 torp planes? Well now you can just hit him regarless of how much AA and defensive AA he has. And with AP bombs, he is halfed within one run Oh and your planes don't even scatter when defensive AA is one. Ho ho ho Oh wait for it, you can now throw rockets into DD faces without them being able to do squat. Remember when you had to pray on the RNG gods if you auto aimed or be that 2% unicum that could hit bombs using Manuel aim. Now you just hit him as long as you fingers on the keyboard and mouse. Welcome back mate. -
Pretty bad, thank you. And there is me thinking this forum has gone completely WG fan-boy mad. but yeah, it was kinda a rant like i said, but it isn't without warrant or substance. And i hope a grind/P2W ship is an improvement over a lower tier silver ship. Because it wouldnt make much sense otherwise. But not all the lower tiers have to be all bad in a line. Like i said, not got the tier 7 yet and like i have said from the start, will reserve judgement for now on it. Lets not just write off lower tiers lads just because we hardly play them. We should care about all the lines from 1-10 and the balance that comes with it. So, still my advice to anyone thinking of grinding the Italian line would be skip the first ones to tier 7 if you have the spare XP. Your not missing anything or learning anything new. 10 point captain is all you need to start at tier 7. If you are new to the game, don't grind this line first (along with the RN cruiser line). WG, 1) please increase that reload and 2) take away some of that concealment. You would then have 3 "meh" ships.

how can I evade rockets and bombs?
Redcap375 replied to HassenderZerhacker's topic in General Discussion
?????? Every thread is a "OP Smol" thread and guess what? It's a bloody light cruiser and guess what they were designed to do. How can we have a go at light cruisers for doing it's job????? And guess what a BB's (YAM) job is? To hit things. We don't complain about the Thunderers accuracy now do we because we expect that a BB will hit things and with only 8 guns, accuracy is kinda needed? However, we don't expect CV's to murder DD's and make their life's hell do we? Because CV's sure as hell wasn't designed to take out DD's were they in RL???? He wants to know how to avoid rockets right? How is that a "CV are OP" thread? What planet are you on.... When people are actually asking for advice (which they should) and we shoot them down thinking they have some kinda agenda.. The fact of the matter is if the CV players is average, you can not evade rockets. I hardly play rework CV's and even i can hit and DD if i want to, regardless of what the DD is really doing. He is going to eat a face full of rockets. It's the way WG has designed it. YOU WILL HIT. Unlike BB shells at 17km away that you can actually dodge, all you can do with rockets is pray to the RNG gods and put your ship into a position where he will receive less of them. Remember the reason for the rework apparently, to make things EASIER? If you could simply dogde rockets then WG wouldn't stand for that wouldn't they. -
That the Italian cruiser line, up to tier 7 (not their yet), has some of the worse ships currently in this game. It has far too many cons than pros, pound for pound. Or do you lot think i simply don't like the line and have some kinda grudge against them? Lads, if i simply sucked in them and have piss poor stats then sure "get gud" can be used like we like to throw around alot (some warranted). But that's not the case is it? It's a case of IMHO these are worse than many ships in their own tier's and EVEN tiers below. Does everyone else think that tier's 4-5-6 are good? Really? That they are completely fine as there are? Because I am gob smacked if that is the case. @loppantorkel do you really think they are alright as they are?

And so it should for a tier 5? But there isn't much in it is there for a ship that is a tier higher? Plus the Exeter can cause fire. And considering the Trento wont even see the first salvo coming and providing his guns are actually facing the same way as the Exeter? That counts for other ships too. Stick with heavies? Tut tut. WG does not make any difference between supercruiers, light crusier and heavies, up until the higher tiers, it all go up the same cruiser lines. They take up the same cruiser spots and and as such should be comparable with each other when stats are concerned. Until WG fix this MM, cruisers will be cruisers. And both of the above are much better ships. Much.... And the Facts (stats) is that the Italian cruiser line up to tier 7 (at least) are all in the bottom 1/4 of the rankings. And there is a good reason for this, they are pound for pound worse than most. What is even more damaging is that this is the newest line? New lines attracts older players first.... Wont take long for those stats to drop even more when casual players get their hands on it. I can make a bath tub with a 50 cal work, it doesn't mean it's good does it? I can also make these Italian ships work (hence my stats on those ships) but even with these stats, i am STILL saying that these ships are below par with the rest. I'm not just sprouting crap to just have a moan, or having a go at the Italian cruisers for no reason. i generally think (as well as others) that they are crap so far. That isn't encouraging at all as the Trento is pump. Hopefully *some of following happens: 1) The arcs become flatter 2) Reload becomes quicker 3) armour has some "armour" to it 4) Turret rotation is better (base) I would take 2 of those 4 to make it VASTLY better then the Trento.
-
But i do respect your opinion mate. I am just not finding anything that supports your "these ships are alright" claim.
-
Defo not, but many new players wont know that. You got that one right. but when players have a dreadnought baring down on them, or any cruiser bow-on they will prey for HE shells and taking out mods. So do other ships in their own way. Like a invisible Exeter deleting cruisers and BBs? Or the Aoba and Furukaka toasting BB's regardless of angle or simply pumping heavy AP into sides of anything. Remember, a salvo of HE from any ship at tier 5-6 can devastate a DD with poor HP. You fire at a DD in the training room from a Trento, Futu, Aoba, Exeter and Kong. They all do the same job of taking them out. Hell, you even get 2 salvos for the Tento's one! Higher tiers? Sure, when you have like 12-15 guns with SAP against 19mm but with only 8 with a SLLLOOOWWW reload? Give me HE or AP any day of the week, you know where you are and what you get. Such is life ay. But both have MORE guns to make up for that short fall and weight of Alpha. Balance remember. Oh and both have more HP too to name a few more things. Exeter hits ALOT harder, wont get spotted (the best concealment at that tier for a cruiser) and has a bloody heal. There is no comparison what-so-ever and that's a tier 5 ship. Aoba has more armour, more HP, more weight of shot, can cause fires and has more guns to make up for shellspeed. And wait for it.....Much better concealment by almost 2 km An Aoba can always dictate when to open fire and deliver that AP broadside the Tento will not be able to come back from. Simply angle way and absorb that pitterful SAP salvo. And lets not even talk about the Buddy. Far far better ship in all ways. Budyonny 6 U.S.S.R. 29 62.07% 1 828 48 994 1 2.34 Details And even a ship that was IMHO "Meh" is better and that's a tier 5! 32 Émile Bertin 5 France 8 50% 2 020 43 188 1.5 5.75 Details No, so far the Italian line, like others have said, are way behind the curb all things being equal. Lets hope tier 7 is better. But i fear it knowing how many I easily kill at tier 7. That concealment and reload makes it easy to kill if i was being very honest. But as always i'll keep an open mind and see. Glad to see the back of these ships so far and defo no keepers, that's for sure.

First, Happy New Year! At the end of the day, you have the spreadsheets that dictate what the most active times are. If moving it to 1900- 2300 hrs CET will be too late for people in that time zone (so the majority of WOWS players in the EU) then i understand why the times are what they are I am just saying it from a UK, African and Portuguese preservative. But i understand that that might not be in WOWS best interested to do so. All you have to state is THAT is the reason. I.e it will finish too late for CET considering people work early on the Monday morning. But i have enjoyed ALL the Clan Brawls I hope WG used it to look at the game and how all the ships integrate and balance. 1 vs 1, 4 vs 4 and 12 vs 12 to include CV's i'm sure were used for this "testing". Biggest takeaways CV's 1 vs 1 is too strong if another class is involved. Obvious from the start and no surprise. Enterprise is way off balance, which we all knew anyway. So things we already knew, that still haven't t been changed? No point saying "look into it" because we have already told you that so we don't expect anything to change on that front. The introduction of CV's in 12 vs 12.....Hummmmm. Well it certainly changes the whole thing like we thought it would do. The element of surprise was completely taken away with the first DD getting a face full of rockets. It made DD's life hard, i mean even harder than usual with all the radar about (we used at least 6 radar ships). We always knew where the DD's were. But.....I think you can make it work with some slight tweaking. If you wanna get people playing CV's, you really have to get them involved with things like this at least so i see why WG did. Not getting RTS CV's involved in the past was the kiss of death. There is no reason (Clan wise) to grind CV's. None at all. So doing things like this will attached CV players (god help me for saying that as i hate rework CV gameplay) but there you go. But overall i enjoyed all 3 of them with the positives out weighing the negatives. GJ Just take on board the points I am sure you already know.

Yeah, crap. Even got 61,000 avg damage output in the Trento so far and i would pick a tier 5 ships over it (Konigsberg, Exeter, Furutaka). I mean the Furutaka can out right delete this thing, so can the Exeter. Trento 6 Italy 4 25% 2 364 61 001 1.5 0.5 Details I mean that WR will get better, even more so in a div but the fact remains that there is far better ships that this one. No this ship is well below par. Raimondo Montecuccoli 5 Italy 3 66.67% 1 788 33 638 0.67 0.33 Details Same as this one ^^^ And i am saying this with good stats in it. It must be horrible for causal players learning the game at that tier in this ship. And regarding Captain Italian pants, are we really saying that we need a premium captain to make ships work? So those that do and those that don't. What a great way to not show P2W. And i will say this again, what is with that slow reload with only 8 guns? That arc is cringleworthy. Turret turns are awful and EM is a must. I really hope the tier 7 upwards are better.....
-
Agree. And so lucky on your CLAN BRAWL game mate . Down to CV vs CV (our Des didn't listen and got killed by your Monty appearing from the rocks). Good to bump into you.
-
I actually Agree with all that mate. But when there is only 1 DD in the match it's painful. And you have to rely on a DD to spot him first. That might be the case and the numbers check out. Hope it will be.
-
Oh... 1) I have and they are ALOT better. For one, they actually cause fire damage and it's HE hits like a truck at tier 5. AP better too. 2) So you have to wait until tier 8 for them to be good? That doesn't sound good does it. Where other lines have some strong ones going up the tiers to tier 8 (German, IJN, US, French) 3) Or you get more damage with AP? Makes SAP kinda redundant don't it? 4) I find they do, compared to say 3 other lines. 5) A bit? That's a massive understatement. 6) Again "at tier 8". I'm talking about the GRIND to tier 8 (which apparently is good). And some cruiser have better protected cits (like the Buddy for one, with York Turtleback armour wise) this doesn't. 7) You need a 14-15 sec lead time on SAP rounds from 12-13km away. That is bad. They are floaty. And good luck hitting anything with a spotter from max, unless they sail in one straight line for 20+ secs.lol If this was a good line so far I would be praising it. I can make nearly all lines in this game "work" but pound for pound, these ships up till tier 7 are simply bad. Remember, some players don't just free XP ships and want to know what they are like. If I wanted too I could get the tier 10 right now. But I like to grind ships unless they are REALLY bad (like the old pens and Izumo) I will pass judgement on tier's 7 to 10 until I get them later. But for now.....Skip them completely so far.
-
Another game in the Tento. God it is crap....So so so crap. Its more then pathetic against BB's. 3 losses in a row. Free XP this crap thing... Anyway, anyone else thinking of grinding the line? Free XP till the tier 8 apparently. They really do need to sort that reload out. It's beyond bad with 8 guns in most of the line. The worst grind to tier 7 yet in this game.
-
So tier 8's and above. I hope so...Stats look solid though which is promising. I've seen what the Venezia can do so here is hoping.
-
No complaints about dispersion, but ship like the Buddy do it even better, and it deals with all the other ships better. Detection is god awful. High detection ships can normally take a hit...These cant and still they give it dog toffee concealment. Give them DD killing SAP but don't give them any tools to do that job. With a DD Div mate? Sure, as long as you don't get spotted on the way to supporting him. Far better ships to support DD's with then these cruisers. I would rather pick a tier 5 ships than this Trento. I'm holding out for the tier 8, at least that has a lot more guns to work with and looks interesting.
-
If I was being honest, I would tell someone straight the way to free XP this line up to where I am now, tier 7. It's been a mess of a line so far. I knew how easy they are to kill when playing in other ships, but I didn't know they were this bad. I hope the tier 8 is better. The Tier 10 is a great ship by-the-way and the only reason I wanna grind it. but I feel like it's going to be the most painful grind ever.
-
Thank you. Same. I can see it just like this one i'm in now. Crap. Yeah, but that hardly balances this crap stick out does it? Looking pretty and being able to turn (other cruisers can do it better) doesn't come close to the other bad stuff it has. Give me fire damage any day of the week, not this crap SAP stuff that when all the DD's are dead, it's very very "Meh". Really, what is up with that reload??????????? With only 8 guns....
-
She's awful 2 Secs.... Trento Italy 265 946 50.24 % 0.60 31 177 1 166 2.42 0.93 Nürnberg Germany 10 081 266 49.44 % 0.55 25 503 962 0.61 0.78 Pensacola U.S.A. 1 104 772 49.42 % 0.49 25 872 948 2.16 0.73 3rd from bottom. And there was me thinking it was just me. Leader, Aboa, Molo, Defo Buddy, Perth and Dallas are FAR better ships. It's incredibly bad at dictating games. The only thing that is does well against is DD's. IF you have some one spotting them and IF you are in close enough for your floaly ships to hit. You go DD hunting and your spotted from the moon. Not like i will ever try that in solo randoms. I hope so, I hope that ship is some glimmer of hope so far.
-
In fact, its soooooo bad. What the [edited]is up with that turret turn?????
-
8 guns with long reload is god awful. In fact, so far this is the worst line I have ever ground! It's slow reload, SAP is crap pound for pound (would much rather have fire), high concealment and floaty arcs. It's awful. Cant even pen a perth at 10 km with SAP. Pathetic, will free XP this crap line.
-
1) 1700 hrs is sooooooo early for GMT. It's dinner time in the UK so move it 1 hour ahead please @MrConway. We told you this last time, please relay the message. 2) Took us 2 hoursish to get enough players but that is expected at that time on that day after holiday session. 3) But when we did, we Loved it! Won 9 lost 3 with a real mixed bag of different level players. Shows the Clans just how good they can be together and, personally, that we punch far above our weight. 12 people is a lot but I enjoyed it. Good job WG with that one.
-
I meant the fact that it can equip both! One for CB's and one for Randoms.....It can even select, I mean how good is that. It's too much of a strong ship. I love it, I loved it when I first seen the stats (I loved the Grov) and I knew, right from testing, how strong and easy to play this ship would be. And it is. You div with a DD and it's a quick death for any enemy DD you come up against. Then you burn down every BB in your stupid range and then one vs one most cruisers. Only when sailed by a giraffe does it die quick or if you make a genuine mistake that can get you one-shotted, happens. And your team can be full to the brim of muppets that it doesn't matter which OP ship you sail, they will bring you down and lose the game regardless. Anyway....That is how it is and those that cant see that, really doesn't know what ships are too much and which isn't. Like saying the Sinop isn't OP at tier 7? Those kinda players.
-
God this topic again. It's too much of a strong ship. It has too many GOOD things going for it and it's bad for the game with the balance tipped to one side. Having a fast firing starting ship, with smoke, with good range and accuracy for DD guns (130mm), with torps and Defensive AA AND bloody hydro is always going to be too much. Its hard to hit from range, has a Frankenstein of an armour scheme which helps it even when parts are weak (over pens) and 30 mm deck to bounce AP and keep DD HE shells away. I mean this: The only reason it's not "Grad" stats is that it can get one shotted if played incorrectly, which lets be brutally honest here, many many and many WOWS noob players do. It's HP is laughable and when sitting still and the AP fired at you doesn't overpen it's can out right kill you. You can bring the stats of any ship, even OP ones down when being played by muppets. You can give a normal driver the fastest car known to man, with the best turning circle and acceleration and he could STILL come last if he's a crap driver in the first place. This is no different. I mean look at this player, he brought a tier 10 ship (PR) with ?? Battles? I mean WFT. He died in CO-OP. Bloody CO-OP for god sake. You give that person a Smol/Flint/Belfast and he will drag it's stats down. You give the ship to someone who knows what he is doing and it's a extremely strong ship. Even if it wasn't that strong, it's bad for the game. Some people havnt got a clue, just like the those that said the Grad wouldn't be/is OP. Jokers.

How is everyone getting on with Puerto Rico grind?
Redcap375 replied to SergeantJav77's topic in General Discussion
WG are making a mint out of mugs who brought 3 boosters. 1 Would have been alright (but it's not do-able, that is the problem) 2 then it's pricy but borderline expensive for a pixel ship 3 then it's mugs territory 3 boosters and then brought it outright, well, their brains needs testing. If this was a game braking ship that would give you a massive edge and change something like how CB is run, then I can see people buying 2 boosters and go for broke. I might even see, if only slightly, people buying 3 boosters PROVIDING you get it there and then, but you don't, you STILL have to grind. But it comes down to this...…..WG have no respect or care about you the players and you STILL get involved in this nightmare. All you have done, is to encourage WG to do this kinda crap again in the future (*slow clap). You are making investors very happy at the expense of the players. But who carers about all of that ay? It's only a game right and it's a dog eat dog world. I pity PR players. Every time the enemy or even your own team sees one, they will have nothing but contempt for that ship. It's happening already. They know that you brought it. You brought a tier 10 Premium and money talks, Fair play walks. And this is coming from someone who could easily just buy it or spend a few boosters from the start and ground it. I would have even loved the ship like I do the Alaska. But I didn't wanna get involved in this PR disaster and be one of those players who encourage WG. It's something called moral courage and it's seriously lacking now-a-days. I encourage you to read @LittleWhiteMouse piece on the whole ship and the money grabbing company we all play for.
