AP bombs take care of most ships, be bloody thankful your in a Krem with HP. 2 drops on a Des and it's dead. Thunderer cant tank to save it's life and dies quickly when focused. Great ship but a balanced ship. And it doesn't matter how much AA you have, if a CV wants to drop you, it will.

Well, at tier 5 at the moment and have NO motive to grind that line anymore, thank you WG for saving me a grind. Used to have 2 Klebers in our CB team, not now. They have gone. Too nerfed with extra concealment and torp/viability.

1) 1 - 3/4 (my guess) games no CV anyway. 2) Simply mount auxiliary arm, the main gun NEVER get taken out anyway ( i did even before the nerf) So as nerfs go, it's pathetic. AA doesn't matter anyway as a CV can hit you no matter what. If WG want to look like they are nerfing things but arnt, then hit the AA. It's a easy win.

Have we all forgot. They buffed most tier 10 cruisers and nerfed the Hindy. Now they have buffed it back to normal. Has FA to do with balancing. Most back then couldn't believe it, i couldn't believe it. It wasn't Op, it was doing well and ticking on nicely. The stats said the same but that fell on deaf ears again. People where content and happy with the HIndy as a normal ship but that was it's downfall, the Henri, Zoa ect wasnt selling. So WG screwed the whole thing up. Why? 1) EVERYONE had one. Not because it was very strong, but because it was the most casual ship there was. Couldn't have that could we... 2) Same old WG. New ship came out (2) and boom, Hindy Nerf. Isn't it funny that those defending the nerf back then now work for WG. What is the odds? Basically it's to get you to grind other lines. Simple really. The only spreadsheet WG are bothered about is who has what ship and which arnt ones arn't selling (grinding). The Henri has now gone the same way, too many people have it. The RN CA line is coming out and not too many people are grinding the Italian CA Line. It's it also funny that the new RN commander has speed a 5% boost on their abilities? Things and games that stagnate die, WG know this. So it's nothing, zip, zero to do with balance, Lol.

It's called an unfair advantage and should be band IMHO. A lot of people with fantastic stats use mods. It's one way to increase your stats by quite a bit. Personally it's bloody cheating and I don't have a part in it.

@Jethro_Grey in his Monty on the enemy team. One of those games that I thought we would loose. Lost ALOT of ships at the start on the opposite side of the map (god knows what they was doing). But I had a friendly Div' (2 Yams and a Hindy) on our side and evened the odds and swung it around. Ended up winning. Good to see you mate. Goes to show what a good div can do. -
They are balanced.....That is a start. Not seen one of them in the top 3 yet. I cant help but feel sorry for those that out-right brought this and spent a mini fortune. Soooooo not worth it I am afrade. Our clan mates that have it arnt too impressed.

Precisely. It's nearly identical and yet no nerf to any of the ships above it? How strange. Hummmm. Balancing they say? Too strong they say. What a crock.... And yes, give it 1 month, maybe 2 and WHAM the Venzia will get a nerf when enough people have it.

@MrConway can you remind everyone in here again why the nerf bat hit the Henri? You can either tow the party line again or if you want, and i know this is a big ask, but give the ACTUAL reason why.. I'm not holding any hope but it is a New Year and with a New Year comes fresh beginnings. Just saying.

What do you do in your Gearing and T-61 that is so different then your other DD's. Well the gearing anyway as the T-61 is one of the most OP ships there is at that tier It seems like you have a good balance in the gearing with your other DD's....Well, not quite at that level if you don't mind me saying. I can understand your tier 9-10 German Z classes because many many German DD captains do the same thing which often leads to their death. Although your Z-23 is a Strong WR for you but your damage is low. I bet it has something to do it less radar (massive factor in tier 9-10 games more than tier 8) and grabbing caps, more then doing out-right damage? Then you have your Bleham and shimmy, both top 3 in your average damage but quite low WR? Please correct me if i'm wrong but what you value more is damage over WR which is completely fine. It's up to you at the end of the day. 4,707 is a hell of alot of games in a dd! Beats the hell out of my 800

Precisely, that my friend is why you have SOOOOOO many bad players sleepwalk their way to tier 10 with god awful WR's and are generally useless. They are playing a system WG have put in place. They have learnt nothing about the game and will never improve. So to me, where i am standing right now, Winning is the game and what i enjoy about the game, not the grind. And i think you are underplaying how much a DD can get XP wise? I often come in the top 3-4 most games. Please i am trying to be humble here but just saying. As confirmed by the stats: My average XP per game in DD's is 1,556. Not fantastic but certainly not bad. I have a whole thread about this, gunboating HE spamming and personally i really dislike them. If you wanna play that game, pick a Light Crusier as their better at it. Now i know that there are some good gunboat captains who know their ship and are very good, no doubt. But the vast majority, from my personal experience, farm damage but end up loosing in the end. But it's the players choice what he/she wants to do and find fun with. Going into caps and contesting isnt everyone's cup of tea with the added pressure. But it's their choice and they have to take the responsibility that comes with selecting that type of DD. If your not doing a DD role and the team expect it (which they will and rightly so in most cases) then expect a backlash. DD players are feeling what we RTS CV players used to feel.

I agree but it's the way WG roll. Right now it's what you value more. The BIGGEST lesson i learnt in this game is that damage numbers don't win games, they help, but there is much more too it. The Conq taught me that little gem.

Of course it's hazardous. It comes with being a DD player. If people dont want hazardous pick a CV or BB instead. Everything you do in a DD is a risk. And i'm the opposite, winning the game is rewarding and a good measure of stats. I don't care if i do no damage, zip, as long as we win. Think. Think how long it will take for a Des/Moskva to get into a radar position? Which island will they go behind? Where are they on the mini map? What has the CV spotted? Is that island in the cap safe? What tools have i got to use? What tools has the enemy got to use? If you don't dive into the cap alone, some other DD will. That then puts your team on the back foot, not a good place to be as many casual players start to flap. Why do we think diving into a cap will get you killed? Of all my deaths in a DD, little of them result in getting killed early when initially contesting the cap. However, i don't really play gunboat DD's that have really bad concealment. Because better concealment ones AUTO have the advantage, period. I LOVE seeing Harra, Frei ect on the enemy team because 9/10 times they will leave the cap's alone. It's great, like Christmas. Whilst their spamming HE at BB's, i'm grabbing the caps under their noses knowing that some time or later, they WILL want the caps back and there you have them. You play to your strengths. You make them come to you, not the other way around. The Shimmy to me is an odd one and prob the mostly played DD in WOWS. Prob because it's more casually friendly (bare with me). Nothing is more damage adverse then spamming torps from a distance and having great concealment. It is also casually friendly because gunning in it (which requires skill) isnt really expected as most try to get away, even forgetting they have guns. Throwing torps out is easy. But it's a torp boat that does very very poorly in a gunfight and it shows. My most killed ship in the Daring and Groz is the Shimmy, go figure...I also think the... well not bad, not as good DD players play shimmies. They react slower and do more stupid things i have found. Now that isn't everyone that sails them, but that's personally what i have found. I tend to find the better DD players play ships like the Kleber and the Daring. I play defensive cap DD's or hybrids. Not the greatest but not the worst. Winning the game is what counts and that damage is mostly enemy DD's. As a DD, you are the one pulling the strings. What you do in a game alters the mentality of your players. This is just the world according to Red i know, and DD's was my last class to play. I went to hating them (playing against them,) to loving them simply due to the winning potential in every game you play. My last piece of advice is "take calculated risks" you live and die by the sword in DD's.

Sounds like my kinda ship. Sounds like an Exeter. Low concealment will always have an advantage, it's golden when supporting DD's and ambushing cruisers. Heavy 203mm you get what you pay for and anything with a good heal is priceless. I think i will enjoy them. Thanks mate.

And do you think cruisers need that added onto their already crappy durability in this game? Flooding every time you get hit by BB shells? It sounds like a right laugh for cruiser players, not the mention DD players that will be flooding by even cruiser shells (203 mm vs 16mm hull?). Torps don't constantly hit you all the time all the game. Shells do. Flooding can cause more damage than the actual Alpha damage. You will end up wearing the "R" button out.

Alas, they wont change. Nothing you say, i say or anyone says will ever change their ways. The wheel will keep turning and the money with keep churning out. And who is turning that wheel? Us the players.. Funny old world. Imagine if not one single person brought the PR? You would not believe how much of a shockwave that would have been to WG. But instead, we the players (many of you) have simply encouraged it. Again, funny old world when the players are actually the problem.

And what exactly is in it for the cruiser your shooting at !!!???? So you either just blow him out the water or you submerge him in the water. So either way he's going to die. Why don't we have shells that automatically take half the ship out, but with the new "Titanic" modual you can still stay alfoat and contribute to the battle with half a ship. "don't worry guys, i've got this, i'm a cruiser!!!! die die die, blap blap blap!"

The Thunderer is the best ship you can get for good players due to it's weight of shell and more importantly, accuracy. Those that know HOW TO AIM and lead shots love this ship. It's the hunting rifle of the WOWS world. I love the ship and is my new fav tier 10 BB. I mean if i just wanna troll, push and smash face then pick the Krem. This ship needs a competent BB operator that knows how to aim, but when it does, it will sing for you. It's simply the accuracy of this thing, they go when you aim. Unlike the Yam which i can simply can not get used too and don't think i ever will.
