    Do not get Marco Polo. Ever.

    I like ships that can either spew shells out like its going out of fashion or have laser accuracy that can hit where you point it. This has neither so its a firm and solid no for me.

    Austin vs. Bourgogne

    Hold your horses mate on both. Dont assume anything and let me tell you how it really is, from an outside perspective. Up to you if you listen mate. I wanted to check your stats out to see what would be better for you and your style and then give my opinion. Summary: I wouldnt touch the Austin with a barge poll mate!!! Your other ships that have the Austin playstyle (Island hugging and peakaboo) are poor. 37% WR in your smol and that thing has smoke. The Austin has even less HP! Your survive rate is very poor and you will be dead before you know it. The Austin is a high skill, high reward ship. Maybe the biggest so I wouldn't touch that unless you wanna cripple your team mates with a ship down within 3 mins. Bourg? You have a really bad survival rate in your BBs and you wanna pick one of the most squish BBs in tier 10? It has the lowest HP of any tier 10 and covered in waffer thin armour. You also need to position yourself correctly to really make use of those 380 guns or you will get nothing but bounces. Your Republic damage is very poor and that thing has much heavier guns I would avoid both until you spend more time in the game. Both are high skill ships and, and I mean this with the greatest respect, but you aren't there yet. If I was you get the Grad, at least you will last longer mate. If I wasnt clear, please don't get the Austin for the love of God. If you do, make sure you are on the enemy team. IMHO.     Old skool Pensacola. Dear god in heaven I hated that ship so much back then. Not played it since like 2016, but I cant being myself to ever play that ship again.

  6. @__Helmut_Kohl__ and @GraySlayer In CB's (I know it's not Randoms but a forum member is a forum member). Always nice to see TTT and always nice to prevail. That A cap looked fun around that island, shame I was on the other side of the map getting pestered by your DD's. Lucky we won that with a ship down right from the start.   7. One of my poor Clan mates games. THIS is what you will see before you go into battle. This game was over before it began. So yeah, have fun.
  8. Exhibit A. I was basically the pin cushion stopping them lemming train flanking and didn't have a great game all truth be told. But even I lasted until the very end of the game. The enemy team was a sea of red. This is just one of many many games.
  9. Get Match Making Monitor and see the reason for yourself. The last time I put up screenshots of some of the most one-sided games and some of the most awful bots the game has seen, they took the thread down. Only yesterday we had a game that was a complete and total white wash, we didn't lose a single ship. I called it before the game and low and behold it came to pass. The enemy team had no chance whatsoever as it was a sea of red players. If you were unlucky enough to have been on that team, well that would have been another frustrating game with little you could have done. Basically, the game is nearly always decided before it starts. I've had a game where the average WR between the teams were as much as 20%! 1 in about 10 games you might have a close match up and I would say 1- in 15 you can turn a really one-sided game if things go your way but the vast majority it was over before it began. Being in a Div increases your chances. My 59% WR is simply offset by my 41% team mate. Whichever team has the biggest muppets wearing red loses. They simply die before the small amount of good players can effect the game. So I look for the amount of bad players in each team, not the unicums. Had a ubber unicum div in the enemy team and I still made the call that they would lose. You know why? Because the rest of their team was complete trash and their DD players died like lemmings. This is the worst the game has ever been regarding player skill and we have to live with it or uninstall. Play the game with divs to up your chances and join an active clan, thats the best way to carry on enjoying the game IMHO.

  11. Give credit where credit is due. I think the new Division Star tab is a great idea.Something which being an Officer of a very active clan I can only praise. I hope it will go someway in helping other less active clans become more active and get guys and girls playing together more. To build better clan communities. Playing in divs makes the games so much more enjoyable and IMHO, simply playable. Anything to promote clan communities I'm all for. Seeing some of the oldest clans crumble due to lack of players and actively, I hope this will prop up some of the newer clans. This and the current CBs, which I think WG have also got right, is a breath of fresh air. So... GJ.

    Hidden change to MM? 6 BBs per side

    All WG own making. So they won't change a thing. They don't care about which ship classes are more popular ands even if they had 12 BBs a side in randoms they still wouldn't change it. If ships sell, they are happy.

    Why flint has 11. Km range?

    Don't have the ship and I havnt played my atlana for years since they took away one of its prime roles, AA support with the rework and its other role is hard to pull off outside of divs, explain: The thing with these kinda ships (atlanta, flint, smolly) is that it is very relient on your team. You rely on your DDs to spot and in turn you can really help support them when they get into trouble with the enemy DD when capping. Your very good concealment means you can (although it's harder without smoke). You can then kill the enemy DD in a short space of time. However, you need your DD to be able to do that for you. He needs to know that you WILL support him and that he has to half risk it knowing that you are behind him...and there is the problem. It needs total trust of both players and both have to be good. You are relying on him/her to know what they are doing and for them to take that half risk. They then rely on you to be able to hit the enemy before they explode. Not many players in this game know how to play DDs and are unwilling to take that risk. In a Div with a DD you trust, its deadly. But in random battles it's always hit and miss, more often miss. The Smolly still has good range to work with (mine is 16km) so it can spam at range from smoke to slow things down. But the Flint with the gimped range, it's harder to do that with as you have to get close. The closer you are, the more likely you will get pushed early and radared or torped. The Atlanta doesn't even have smoke so you are forced the island spam which isn't really what these are designed to do. They are DD support ships and when you don't have a good DD then its always a up hill struggle. So I can see why they might have nerfed the range so they can be played by liked that, but there is too many factors that need to go right for them to be played like that. Far too many for randoms with random players. IMHO.

    Dont see much of a difference in numbers but in skill there is becoming a big difference. What am I saying, its already here! Sea of red every tier 10 game. To the point where we can't kill the enemy quicker then they kill themselves.

    Brawl. Fun or f-ck?

    Only one CV so far against an unicum Kaga. Very close to killing him in the Massa but not equipping the AA flag and a little bit of lucky RNG on his side was the difference.

    USN Cruiser split

    CL were hit hard in the rework and with deadeye, your on egg shells. Your a light crusier without smoke which isn't easy to play. DM line has the better ships throughout and won't struggle as much in this meta. That line also has more usable ships to use in Brawls, ranked, CB ect.. The DM is long in the tooth now with so many BB that can overmatch but its always going to be a usable ship due to its versatility and fast firing 203mm guns. But its not the AA platform it used to be and will get Smashed by AP bombs. And I mean smashed. Being halved from one drop and then finiished off when he turn around is not fun at all. Hence why you didn't see any in CB when CVs came out. Funny how some lines loose their identity. The American line used to be the AA/DD support line back yonder. But the rework killed that AA support role and the meta means getting into support positions is getting harder and harder. Deadeye has almost killed that as its so Risky and you risk exploding at anytime. Torp ranges have increased, radar ranges on other crusiers have increased, ice brakes on crusiers became a thing and more armour (especially deck armour) have increased. All that have left the DM behind but it still holds its own if played correctly. And equip the LM, it will save your life.

    brawls matched on skill level?

    No idea with 1 vs 1. But I have only met one other person so far who has been my "peer" and he was from PANEU. He only just won by my mistake (should never had eat his torp) and he had 1000 HP left before I died. But by then I was quite tired to be honest. The rest have been pushovers with some simply try to get the ram.. Oh and in 20 games I have yet to face either a DD or CV.

    My thoughts about Andrea Doria

    Hardly anyone in our 48 strong clan has said anything about the new Italian BBs.... That is how thought of they are. People like to hit things from some kind of range so they give them a miss. I have token it up to the tier 7 but havnt played a single game in any of them.

    Lets break down the new T10 Elbing

    I see the whole line as the Z-23 at tier 8. I love the Z-23. You know why? Because it brings something different to the game and that is the 150mm gun with baked in IFHE on a DD hull. That is something different and quite strong when you pick the right targets. Now I have always used 150mm on the Z-23 so i don't know any better: Z-23 8 Germany 15 60% 2 041 45 255 1.27 1.07 Details And so far it's the funniest German DD I have played yet on the silver line (the T-61 is well, a torp boat and a bit too strong for it's tier IMHO but that premium). The rest of the line is a big bag of "meh", but i can see why the Z-44 is kind of popular and i have yet to experience that. But again, like the whole German DD silver line, it changes back and forth to gun boats to torp boats. Having one dedicated captain is a pain in the grass unlike other DD's (like the US and IJN) where you can keep the same commander throughout. Right now I am more than happy to stay at the Z-23. It's something completely different and the guns make it that way. But anyway, using those 150 MM is completely playable (as you can see by my reasonable stats in it). Now if I had to play the Z-23 without smoke? Humm, i wouldn't be able to do half the things I can do now in it. It's not a Friesland or a Marceu or Smalland where it can kite, turn and dodge stuff and rain down fire. It's too big, bulky, eats AP damage, slow turning and too slow to do that, so you have to be a surgical knife , not a machine gun. It's a good hard hitting gun platform that can reposition quickly (in relation to the calibre of guns it carries) and can stop bigger ships from pushing. Those AP shells can put some serious hurt on Cruisers who don't see it coming due to your good concealment and those HE shells are penning most BB's in it's MM. Don't underestimate the fire starting abilities too (14% with flags and skill!). Now you don't wanna get into DD knife fight at all if you are both full health, every shot you miss will hurt with that long reload, however you are really good at supporting other DD's going in for the kill as the lower trajectory shells are easy to land with and hurt like hell when they do hit. They can also give Cruisers a bloody nose too trying to get into radar range to support their DD's and you have fast reload torps as well. Now yes there are faults with it. It's not perfect but when you play it by it's strengths and not the enemies it's a great ship that does what no other DD does. Now if they changed the Z-23 tomorrow and took away it's hydro, but gave it defensive AA instead? Ok, for this ship hydro IMHO is far better, but I could live with it. But if you took away it's smoke? No thank you. You can not really open gun boat in this (if you can help it) and I can see the same for the German DD split. Not to mention being able to HIDE against enemy CV's that will have no problem hitting a slower, larger, longer, bigger and fatter Z-23, defensive AA or not. 2 flack clouds gonna stop anything? I think not. The guns aren't even dual purpose. Its a token gimmick like the Thunderers Defensive AA. So i personally think they have done the right thing with the smoke and I think they found out the hard way without it (like i said they would). If you want to have a quick taste of what the new line is going to be about, try the Z-23. But just remember that you should be bigger, fatter, wider and turns more slowly. THAT is what concerns me, but the concept and those nice guns still makes it an interesting line. Strong or not, it's different. More armour and more health on these new ones? Meh, its still gonna eat tonnes of AP damage and you are an even bigger target now, but at least you will have a better chance against enemy DD that outspot you. If nothing else, it stops potatoes dying like lemming in them and throwing the games I'm in. But again, WG are blurring the frigging lines with DD's/cruisers as your taking up a dedicated DD spot for what is sneaky light cruiser. If you need caps to win, your gonna be screwed with these German DD's in your team.

    Most fun ships banned in CBs

    Give WG the smallest of brakes on this good call of theirs. They even got the ships right IMHO. Yes we called them before hand but...lets give them some credit here. Stop being selfserving ladies and gents and think about the balance of Clan Battles. Good teams and commanders adapt and those clans that come top really have earnt it this session more than any in recent times!
