I've had more close matches against the Essex now in the Tahio than before i can tell you that. I think its changed for the better. That extra fighter makes a HUGE difference if played correctly. The Lexington change? Not lost one game against her yet rank or random. But the AP bombs make her better either way as the amount of Bis/Tirps knocking around is still high. But I've not brought the Essex back yet since the change (only had one game in it ages ago then thought "no thanks, back to the Tahio"). But the Midway is my new goal (2 torps bombers???? tier 8 be dammed, that's dd killing power), so back to the Essex i suppose

Do my eyes decisive me? Am I seeing a new premium/free XP BB without some monster AA or defensive AA gimmick that blows planes out of the sky like the MISS, KII, HOOD and the DOY???? How are the BB captains standing for that crap deal? Better start grabbing those pitchfolks ready for the uprising .....Well it does have a smashing Torp armour like her bigger sister On a serous note, I would rather have a Misssouri on my team than this, IMHO. Its more of a team player ship (Radar, AA) and still the best tier 9 BB out there. But there are so many Missouri's out there at the moment that playing CV's (tier 8-9 especially, god forbid tier 7 Cv's) is becoming unbearable. at least 2 is becoming the norm.

She doesn't need a nerf what-so-ever. If you have played a single game in her you would immediately understand why (high tiers can really really hurt her, alot + ship dependent). And tier 8 MM is...Well you know.

Its still early in the Ranks and people refuse to play as a team yet . Got her a few days ago and she's good, under the right conditions. Had @Flamu on the team last night in his Chappy (streaming) and he was ranging after people refused to smoke him up. Although he did beach himself 3 TIMES. Even Gave him a hand occupying the ships that where about to steam roll him. We won and he survived (just). Whilst there are so many Tirps and Bis in ranked, the Enterprise will always find a place But the Sho will be better at Higher ranks IMHO. More versatile and with the 3-1-2 set up. The Enterprise is a good contender tho . Plus, 7 games in a row i had Lex as opponents? Taking care of one fighter with 2 of my own is a doddle. I am shocked that i've not seen a single IJN CV Captain yet

Like the enthusiasm but no mate. There is so much god-knows-why hate for CV's at the moment this wont help things, especially for the major DD players. These nuggets of information makes a CV captain and WG should make it readily available. so this isn't in any of their vids already? it took me what, a few games, in a CV to figger how to pull this thing off. I am surprised it people don't know how to do this. People that scream "report this man now!" need to take a long look at themselves and share the love . Right. But some people can't or refuse to come to terms with it for a number of reasons. Most is their ship has crap aa anyay and can't except that they are not going to be god against everything and the other is refusing to spec aa and moan when they see a CV. Both is a choice everyone of us makes. Come to peace with it. If I play my Hindy in my clan battle spec I except im going to be owned by a CV if i solo. But if I spec it it turns into a crazy aa platform. Even if I meet half way I'm more than capable of dealing with planes. Any ship with defensive aa can and their are alot of ships with this now. Its your/my problem if you/I didn't equip it.

May I kindly ask: What class do you play the most with? And what ship do you normally play?

My thoughts exactly Which ever way you cut it, its the same thing. They just do if differently. But I can't shoot torps from the water and shells from the sky.

DD players have a hard deal too. BB's are by far, the easy class to play, no doubt whatsoever. my Alabama can complely nullify a CV, destroy a cruiser in one and smash a BB form a good distance. if a torp hits I have a 50% torp belt and a fast turning circle! Even a DD can get close to blown up with HE shells! So..are CV that OP?

Nail on the head..Its all so messed up. They have gone past the point of no return IMHO and a lot seen the writing on the wall long ago. I honestly dont understand what peoples problems are with CV's? I play BBs, CA and CV's almost the same and I don't have a problem whatsoever. 3/4 of ships, even DDs don't have too worry too much about them, tier dependant of course. My Sharn, Alamaba, Cleveland, Kuts, Hindy, Roon, mino, Lion, Hipper, Neptune don't have a problem. They might hit 1 or 2 maybe (without defensive), but it will cost them nearly all of their/my planes. Not even got round to the Atago, Des and Balti, mosk, Hood yet. I know what its like to fly into AA and use AA and I can honestly say that its a lot harder to find ships without good AA then poor. Even easier to turn a ship into a AA moster. We even have DDs with good AA and defensive fire nowadays! Duke of York KIDD Kii Just a few of the newish ships that are AA heavy or going to be. they have even given the midway tier 8 torp planes and still people moan. I strip tier 8 planes within second in my 8.4 mino AA! 2 of them in a game and its GG. I simply don't get it. I get it if people don't play the class as they see things from one side only and don't know what's it like. Or IJN DD and Tirp players as come on, CV players need something to hit easy Maybe its because I'm always AA minded with my ships or that I don't play DDs. But I have no problems against them. What about getting one shooted or close to by a BB in a CA at high tiers! Or when I'm 1 of 5 BBs with only 2 cruiser on each side? Easy meat. How can cruisers push with 5 BBs on the other side? I know because I easy delete them when they do. Its all wrong IMHO.

bumped into Fumtu on the enemy team yesterday. Extremely passive game until they cracked and starting steaming in. We won gotta love stock Lion.

"You can lead a horse to water" Some people simply don't wanna learn, are too young to even care or have a computer that cant hack it which effects the game. We have all seen some truly stupid stuff happen in this game havnt we chaps ? 1) Bismarck's sniping further back than even a Nag with full health 2) CV's sailing into caps from the start 3) A KIDD escorting a Lex CV the whole game doing nothing 3) Tactical errors that a blind man could see The list goes on and on..... But at the end of the day its just a game. You have such a mix of players that nothing surprises me any-more at all and i cant be bothered wasting any energy over it. The player base is getting worse and the games are becoming more one sided. Killing 4 ships a game means nothing if your team consists of muppets that sacrifice themselves like lemmings for no good reason. Come to peace with it. But its good to Vent i suppose and we all feel your pain m8.

IMHO mate , tier 7 should be stand alone CV 1 vs 1 so I kinda agree. But its very rare that this happens. You have 2 Premium CV's in that tier that can wrack face if not checked so having a Sapian + Kaga is hell on earth.

Hell no, don't defend chaps. He's the bloody one defending with 3 sets of fighters! If hes thick enough to follow your planes through walls of flack then great, whittle them down. The AS Sapian is the most annoying CV to play against. Not the hardest mind you, but most annoying. To be perfectly honest, i don't see alot of them at all so i personally don't mind playing against one from time to time. People don't play that set up alot in order for me to really worry about it. But... In a Ranger with 1 set of fighters now? Tricky, most tricky of all tier 7 Cv's as the rest have at least 2 sets to deal with them (tag team). As i havnt gone back in time yet to play the new setups i dont know how the new Ranger really plays (1-1-2) but i can kinda guess and its not good against a AS Sapian. By-the-way i never play the ranger (IMHO the weakest of the tier 7 CVs). It does, it wins games. Killing those DDs when you do get through, which you are more than capable doing with 2 US bombers and 1 torps (killing DDs i mean) . Its about winning the game your in, not XP for damage? no point spotting DD's that arn't there anymore. You are ice skating up a hill no doubt and getting your planes through is tricky. But he has to react to you (your strike), not the other way-around. That gives you an edge, however small. Your not suppose to win anything to do with the sky against it with the new 1-1-2 Ranger. Your pinning your hopes on smoke and mirror tactics and hoping he's not a great CV player. Small tip I can give you mate Spot his CV up with empty bombers or fighters if desperate. Very few CV players wont act on getting spotted by your whole fleet so they will send one group back to take care of them. Which means you now have 3 strike vs 2 fighters. He now has to split is view to both his CV protection and what he is doing with your planes. Like i said, small edges. hope it helps chap

Looking forward to playing the new update when I get back from holiday. Should be a lot more CV captains to go up against . Will be grinding the Essex for that nice Midway..

Just played against some guy called Lt_rookie (_FLT_), Tahio against Tahio. I could tell from the very start that it was going to be a good game and both of us cancelled each other out really. Took the opportunities when we could (he sunk 1 and i sunk 2 kinda-thing). We ending up winning comfortable in the end, even when i told a BB not to push alone and got smashed by like 7-8 torps, muppet. I came top third and he came middle i think but wow has he played alot of CV games! 2410 games...That's a hell of alot and i don't think i have seen a player have a % in CV;s more than other lines and all his top ships are CV with some good win rates in them too. Stats wise, i think he is the best player I've played against in a CV. And to come out onto is a personal achievement. Anyone can beat anyone when CV's are concerned chaps

Problem with Manuel bombs? Try the Enterprise You will get used to Manuel drops over time lad. I do the "Keep on clicking ahead" syndrome when bombing DDs Does anyone else do this or just guess and click? I don't know if its a "thing" or i'm special...Probably the latter

Hummm, tough one m8. Why Yes? 1. Amount of torp reserves. You have so many and only once in 150+ games have i ran out of them. Unless you pilot them into the AA of every enemy Cleveland on the map like lemmings, 2. Torp drop. Very forgiving as even auto drop can net you some easy kills due to the spread and players turning in to the back 3 torps, even against average captains. 3. Bombers. 1) you have them and 2) very tight circle on auto AND they nearly always cause a fire, even with one single plane left. 4. Tier 5 ships. No other CV in the game can destroy lower tier ships like the Kaga (Tahio can still face Atlantas and such). Tier 5 aa is crap for a tier 7 CV and the Kaga maximises this destruction with 2 x 6 torp bombers AND tight bombers. Why No? 1. The fighters are made out of Tracy Island papermache and if your a point and click CV captain (at this moment) you will lose every scrap you get into (without friendly aa) 2. High tier aa. As your planes are tier 6, going into a tier 8 and god forbid tier 9 games can feel like hell on earth depending on what the enemy brings. 2 Iowa, 2 Atlanta, 1 NO, 1 Chappy, 2 Kidds and a Saipan (game i had yesterday) is not a easy game to play and you will feel like rage quitting, more than any other CV. 3. The Sapian. The Sapain is your worst nightmare as you are completely opposite and you have to rely on alot of things to win. Its doable but of all the CV's, these two are polls apart. He will also do alot better in tier 9 games with tier 9 fighters. I would say the Saipan but you don't wanna go down that path so fair enough. Only because they have fast, hard and durable planes with a good setup (2-0-2). Not to mention the broken strafe they have which makes a mockery of CV game play. Get your strafe sorted out first. The Kaga NEEDS it and the Saipan can only be played at max strengh WITH IT. But the Kaga is a great buy if you have money off and want a CV for the future. You just need to understand its weakness and you'll be fine. There is a reason its top of the tier 7 CV food chain. Plus the MM is MUCH kinder than tier 8 i can tell you that.

Do you think they will change anything regarding the AP bombs as its no longer unique? Do you think the fighter reserves and 2 x torps will be enough for people to buy this (£42) ship over other tier 8 Cv's? Had an enemy one yesterday in my Sho and he didn't do hardly anything bless him. Wasn't hard to figger out what he was aiming for (Tirps and Bis) so kept planes in the general area. Even though i don't have it yet (£££) i can see that you need to be aggressive with those fighters! Come on lads you have that many of them, use them.. His tier 7 torps didn't last long in some of that tier 9 aa? Its not gonna put me off

Enterprise is the one I'm looking at. But I refuse to pay £42. £30 Maybe £42 is a whole new game! I could sale the Belfast and only pay £14 but....Nah. Even thou i don't play it that much now-a-days

Three things: 1) I have noticed alot lately that you either get romp-stomped or you annihilate them. Very few games now are close to the wire and they are the ones i personally enjoy. 2) The standard of players are currently at its lowest. The things i have seen people do when I'm captaining a CV is unbelievable . Its like they see torps and have a irresistible urge to steer into them! 3) Playing the Monarch has hit my winrate hard Overall WR means toffee. If i wanted a really high win rate i would do the following: 1) I would play nothing but CVs 2) Seal club at low tiers 3) Not touching Solo games and only divs 4) Not playing Div games with the clan AGAINST eachother (same time click) Your winrate would be something like 65-70 % easy. Alot of people do this but wouldn't that be so boring to play! I wouldn't even touch a DD's but i need to learn somewhere and understand how they move and play (to kill them too ). If i didn't play them at all? Higher win rate. Grinding those ships that you just don't like hits win rates hard too. I'm grinding to the Lion at the moment as i need a solid tier 9 BB and i think it fits the bill but my god how i hate the Monarch. Its that ship that its wedged between 2 good ships and its like GW WANTS you re-spec it (£££) then re-spec it back (£££) when you finish it. But alas, i can take some comfort in that the highest Win rate in this thing is currently 64%! That's poo compared to other BB's in that tier Bismarck 89.60% Alabama 81.37% Amagi 82%. So if some of the best players are struggling to make it work then i can take comfort in that. I love the Alabama though

A few die-hards left I enjoy all classes. but I'm terrible in DD's .
