    I think I will switch fire back to playing CV's more now. Might as well use the most of the old style whilst we can. Plus my WR is getting smashed by playing ships I don't really enjoy but gotta grind (like the old pencola, i know, i'm a pencola hater)

    The chance of the enemy having a hard counter (i.e Sapan) is slim. Even if you have 4 equally played CV's then that's still 25%. And going against a Saipan will be lower as it's a premium. But that's going off topic. Again, one persons hard counter is another ones easy one. But i agree m8. Having a accumulation of skilled players and combined tactics is powerful in the right hands. 1 x Kaga and 2 X Atlatas 2 x Belfasts and a DD Midway, 1 Mino and Monta. I think the brutal fact is that if you want to stay solo, which is fine, then you have to except that alot of players enjoy DIV play and will take the ships that will produce the best results (hopefully). Shippers that work together, have comms and play clan matches together. And IMHO it's good thing. It's the same as a football team that has played together all year round against one that has just met. It's a problem for Solo players, i can empathise.

    Nelson all the way and for personal reasons. My Grandfather served on her sister ship, RIP pop-pop (true story). He said the nose and the shudder the ship produced when the guns fired were sometime else. He had hearing problems after the war You know the biggest grip that i have against WG? No torps on Nelson (like on the Rodney)! He was in-charge of the torp ammunition, general workings and maintenance (he didn't fire the torp that hit the bismarck tho). Still cant imagine what he felt when he went up against the Bismarck. Harder times ay. Not much free XP to go I know that doesnt help you mate but thought i would bring it up. Clan mates have both and pound for pound they say the Nelson is better.

    But teamwork plays a massive part and you forget about the other players on the team. Ok...You bring 3 Lyon's to a match and i'll bring my Kaga or Sapian. Unless they hold hands throughout the whole match and are not Full AA Spec then you have 3 sinking ships and a sucks-to-be-you Div. It's not a good idea to bring 3 of the same ships. They can have 50 shells for all i care, they will still be sunk by torps. So you take 3 x Lyon and 3 x Gne. That's 6 ships that aren't Cruisers to mess my CV day up = 6 sinking ships? Or radar that will cause DD's a headache. DD captains will be licking their lips with those 6 BB's in the game. But i agree that good players will always do better then those that arn't, obviously. But your comparing one BB against another without taking the team into consideration as it is a random. One man's poison is another man's remedy. I would rather have 3 Lyon's to drop against then 3 Gne (can have real nasty AA and longer range). See where I'm coming from. Plus, if both set of players are equal skill wise then don't underestimate a Bow-On Gne coming towards you. Those Lyon shells will do ALOT of boucing and when that turtleback armour comes into effect the Lyon is toast. I have both ships. The Lyon can only kite so far

    I've not used one mod to-date. Hate them as it gives another player an advantage in a game that should be equal footing and fair . But i know alot of players who do and they are normally found in very high win rates. It's a way of life for them. it's only human nature I suppose, people always try to get an edge. I know alot of people will disagree and i can already see their point-of-view but in my mind, it's still wrong. Everyone should be on equal footing from the start. It's just not very English is it chaps

    First of all that is a great Div with a great section of ships. Alarm bells should have been ringing on the load up screen for a CV captain. I.e STAY AWAY FROM THAT DIV. Both the Mino and Hindy will be AA spec, deadly to tier torp 8 planes. Right..Let me see. You sent 33 planes to their death against a AA spec (prob 8.4 km) Mino in a CV purple div. With the enemy CV only killing 5 planes. Either the enemy CV didn't get a look in because the Mino killed everything or the CV wasn't that good of a player. However, his spotting duties must have been very good as he finished 3rd. THAT makes a good CV player. The Tirp, Edinburgh, Curry, Yueyang and Shimmy are somehow still afloat? Did the whole team curl up into a ball and pushed at once? with the mino and Mont in the centre? As soon as you see a purple div like that (met C4rM4 a few days back and luckily sunk him) then stay away from both ships in that Div. You had PLENTY of good targets there to hit. Did you see red? I mean was you hell bent on killing a ship in that area. It happens sometimes and it's frustrating. You just gotta suck it up and pick another target m8 on the otherside of the map. as the Enemy CV only killed 5 of your planes, it kinda tells me you didn't go wide and pick off ships. They would apply the same tactics like diving the Mino straight into the cap behind a hill, right infront of your nose or bating your fighters and tighing them up. Nothing you can do about it so stay clear. looked like that Shimmy had a field day, telling me that you didn't really try to spot him up for the team. Please correct me if i'm wrong and only speculating. Analyse the game and take points away from it. As your a Midway player i'm sure you already do and hopefully half a decent player (you have hidden stats). Our team last night had the worst tier 10 CV player (Hak) I have ever seen in 5 years of playing this game. 30% WR in CV's, didn't have Air Supremacy skill and drove straight into the middle cap! . Are Div's a problem? No, it's teamwork play. It's one of the only things that keeps me interested in the game. I don't think I could carry on going solo constantly as the rage would overtake me . like someone has already said, there are some CRAP divs out there and when 3 are knocking around in BB's, it's not a warm fuzzy feeling right from the bat. What i think is more of a problem is the skill difference of players. So many times you have one side with solid players with good stats (important ones) and the other with one or two with the rest, well, not so good. Even if your in the winning team it's not a great feeling annihilating a team and only losing one ship (like yesterday). How having 6 solid typhoon players with ranks 1-5 in one team against a team with no more than 55% WR is beyond me. Oh well, these things happen but it's not easy for some players.

    It is squishy and does get citadelled constantly. It's defo not a Des. But I love those heavy hitting guns and typical US cruiser versatility. I love it overall and my go to tier 9 cruiser, but it has faults and range is another one of them.
  8. Ran into @Flamu (WOWSTESTER) again tonight, in his Stalingrad..... JESUS H CHRIST!!! 3 kills with XP and damage off the charts. Fully One shotted a poor Henry with no detonation, just outright killed it. Nearly one shotted a Zao too. One enemy team player said "that's not broken too much then" and i said "he's on my team but yeah, kinda agree mate". He shrugged off damage and those laser Russian shells...i mean Wow. If that's how that ship is I WANT ONE. God those shells hit hard... My WR is going down at the moment but Damage and XP is increasing And i cant for the life of me get wins in the Conq, even finishing top 3 times in a row.

    I tend to agree, it's about fire power and having a CV. The enemy CV's doesn't strafe which makes your life a doddle and they don't even try to avoid your own strafe. They fly in a straight line. I personally find cruisers and 2 BB's do well.

    If you think the initial comment is a "Meme" then that's your personal opinion isn't it? I completely agree that people still manage a positive K/D against bots in Coop and CV's are normally top of the killing list. But i'm talking about torpedo beats against CV drops with the AI being alot better than the "Majority" of Players in random. Regardless of who you or I think fits into the "Majority" list. I take it you think the majority of players do better then the AI when trying to avoid drops? It's your opinion at the end of the day, nothing more.

    I can completely second this statement, so true. The AI does more against CV drops then most players do (first hand experience).

    But at least that's honest (I hope, not troll). S***, but honest. Happens in a lot of games i have been in with a CV. You strafe their Strike planes and they simply give up, or they get put into high tier MM and just give up (tier 6 planes against tier 9 AA isnt fun for most). People get frustrated for a number of reasons. Happened in a game I was in a few days ago with @Flavio1997 in his CV as enemy. Friendly CV simply killed himself. Second ship to die. That was game over and I knew it, because the team didn't even think about working together and was spread all over the place. Thank god we don't have a "Scuttle" button for BB/CA's.

  16. The Zao didn't even have Defensive AA equipt. Very good target indeed for a Essex and unlucky with the Kraken . Losing a CV that early in the game is a decisive enemy win. Still finding my way with the Conq (5th game) but i'm liking it. I've may have been too passive in it so far, but its defo not a brawler. Mid range i think is perfect for it. See ya soon shippers

    That's why it's more of a go to ship than the Hindy in Clans due to the camping nature of the games. Radar of course too. I would too but grinding the Buffalo at the moment. The Hindy will always have a place in Clan battles. Just not too many of them. It's alot more popular than it ever has been, because people know it's a easy ship to get on with. The average player likes Jack-of-all-trade ships. Remember, game like this don't make money for stagnating. They need nerfs and buffs to make/advise players to grind other lines. If everyone just ground the German Line and stayed their, because its more user friendly, then they wont make money of other lines that people play and spend (more do) money on. Like i'v said before, Games Workshop use the same business tactics to sell models. 1 more second isnt going to change the world for the HIndy HE, but it's a slippery slop. My first thought was not regarding HE, but AP. It gives you 1 less seconded to put more shells into that perfect AP broadside that it needs to pen another cruisers and cause massive damage. Don't know if anyone can do the maths but taking into account the turning rate for other cruisers and soon to be 9.9 secs (without AR%, with reload), might be the difference between getting 1 Perfect Broadside or 2. If enemy ships are even slightly anged to German AP then it normally bounces. Must be a reason for it to be 1 second. IMHO.

    Not got the energy at the moment. WG is sucking it out of me with things like this. But @Exocet6951 is right, its a mess. I understand you brother, but it's the way people are playing it and it has changed into a fire breathing spammer. Come to peace with it. HE spamming Bow-on camping BB's have been the way forward for most players and because of the reasons Exocet6951 is explaining, it's effective. The majority of times i have lost or been deleted in the Hindy is because of pushing things or forcing the issue on my own. Your friendly BB's are mostly camping at the back and wont risk getting hit, i know but its the way it is (mostly). Only the good players know how to really play BB's to their potential. I have seen good players (some on this forum) using the Hindy this way. And i have too when required, and that's more often now-a-days. It's not OP and never has been. Other cruisers can do certain things better. It's the jack-of-all-trades and long may that remain. So 1 more second? Not needed but can live with it.
  19. Didn't realise you were in that one m8. Yeah team kinda crumbled and was left kiting the music down south. Had some tough games last night. Doing the damage and earning the XP but no dice for 4 games in a row with my new Conq . Back to Hindy and 2 wins . hope the conq isnt cursed for me!!
  20. Few tonight.... @Flamu In his Stalingrad 2, he got killed about half-way through (burned to death) and focused fired. Get this....Our CV (Essex) was the second ship to be killed! That about sealed the deal as the enemy CV @Flavio1997 (Essex) proceeded to sink 4 ships. A dream in any CV captains books However he wasn't happy about it in chat about my AA when 2 waves failed without a single drop... 21 planes without even trying...In the Conq. Yeah, BBs have crap AA. Ho Ho. I know how he felt but would have killed them quicker in my tier 8 Alabama. @havaduck and @Skyllon there 2 Hindies on the same team. Havaduck finished 6th and didn't see much of him to be honest. I Ended up coming 3rd behind Skyllon. Me Duck didn't seem too happy in chat about the team as we lost.
  21. just bumped into @gekkehenkie50 on z enemy team He did well and came first with us losing but I ended second somehow. One of those games with plenty of ships left kinda game. 2nd game in Conq and it's....Good but a boring ship. Easy to do damage tho. Bit of a boring game with our DD player receiving alot of salt from other players. yeah.

    Getting abit carried away no EM, thanks for the correct m8. I would as having 4 of each (spotter and Heal) is plenty enough thank you (prem). It's not a Cruiser where Defensive AA and Radar are more important, or Missouri with radar. Where having BFT in the Alabama is devastating. But I suppose BTF isn't really needed with MMA, but personally i find it makes the huge difference against tier 9-10 CV's. Each to their own

    Favourite BB and has been for a while now, and that's coming from a CV captain. It's funny because i didn't like the NC that much but originally thought i would when grinding up to it This^^, very good advice and that's how I generally play it. How I spec it with captain John Doe for perks: PT,EL,EM, AR, BFT, AFT, MAA, CE With AA Range MOD to give it full AA Spec as you can't equip the aiming Mod unlike the NC. Don't really need a Full AA Spec as BFT, Range and AFT is still very good but when against tier 10 planes the MAA makes it sweet indeed. Tier 8 still throws you in with CV's and AA builds are more viable, less so at tiers 9-10. And if there is a CV, even tier 10 planes have a very hard time dropping this thing....That's not bad for a tier 8 ship isn't it . Even if it does somehow manage to get a fish in the water, the Torp belt is nothing short of excellent and isn't worth the CV captains time. US AP bombs don't do half the amount of damage that they do to German ones too The accuracy is, lets face it...off. That's makes it a mid/shorter range BB and sniping at range is futile. Even Perfect Broadside can net you misses but when they do hit, they hit! But I love the escorting in this thing, I find myself right behind the German BB's (half decent players). He give me that turtle back amour and I provide him with the AA. If you need to push on your own then it's alright. Due to the torp belt, turning rate which is excellent for a BB and bow-on tanky it's doable. Just don't go in exposed and keep you sides hidden. It's also smaller than the NC which makes it that harder to hit. These HE Shells make a mess of DD's too. It's one of those ships that I don't mind being up tiered in, that's the biggest selling point for me. And Tier 8 MM is the worst.

    BB players wanna keep it, DD players don't...Go figger. But as a "not really bothered" 1) fair play to the BB player that actually hits them in the first place 2) waists the shots on something he has a good chance of missing and could be hitting something else bigger 3) has the time to wait for the turrets to turn. Keep it as it is IMHO. It takes more skill to hit one with a BB so i base it off of that. If the BB player is hitting a DD at 5km then the DD has seriously F***** up. However, maybe if they do Nerf BB shells against DDs then increase the accuracy of Secondary fire maybe? Just a thought.

    This^^ I can't decide if its the ship or the players that sail her but it seems pants. Watched one yesterday trying to hit something...It was painful and he said they he was aiming (after receiving alot of salt from other players). Oh, and the AP rounds were bouncing off a Missouri only slightly angled too. So much for heavy shells. They don't fill me with confidence when I have them in the team.
