Yup, need to do the maths. But 30% is alot . But, if you do catch them, which will be easier now if they choose this, then they are even more toast. But at first glance i don't fancy the new upgrade on the Haku. Strike HP is more important at tier 10. It already has AS with 3 fighters now and the speed and HP is great as it is.
-
Agree. Although 30% more on the Midway strike will give problems to ships as less will be shot down before the drop (need to do the maths regarding HP, speed and aa). And we all know what 2 US torp groups can do if left alone and unopposed. It was balanced as they were tier 8 planes but now they will be like tier 9/10 health, abet slower. I hope the enemy CV isn't a patato else the Midway's life has become easier in that respect. But CV vs CV the Haku is still laughing, more so if the Midway player chooses this new upgrade instead. Easier for the enemy Haku but harder for the ships in your team would you say?
-
Chaps So what do we think about the proposed new upgrades and how they will effect the Cv's? Will you use them?
-
Only had to see 10 mins of this and completely agree. 100%. Totally. He said everything that i was thinking. But beware, its the same company chaps that run WOWS so lets not hold our breath. It's not at WOT level, but given a chance it might be ££££££££.

You think you earned the Stalingrad? No, still have to buy it!
Redcap375 replied to wilkatis_LV's topic in General Discussion
For a BB sure. For a cruiser though? A cruiser one shotting or causing 3/4 against another cruiser in the same tier is all sorts of wrong. And BB dispersion? Didn't see much of that as like i said, he killed 2 ships before i could get into position (close to hills in the Buffalo). With laser shells i might add. Wait and see shall we. If it gets released like that alot of people will be . I can bet my mortgage on it. Not making this up mate, it's deadly. Shame i've only seen one so far.- 34 replies

^^ The 2nd point that turned me away from that game. When a tier 6 TD cant pen a tier 7 tank, never mind a tier 8 unless you buy the premium round was the straw that broke the camels back for me. Any tier 8 ship can at least damage tier 10 targets You can ram that idea troll.
-
As god as my witness, how ever much i enjoy this game if WG ever implemented premium rounds then good bye. Really. Those that played WOT knows the score. It's wrong on so many levels is actually comical.

Winrate on stats - how is this even possible?
Redcap375 replied to Ukio's topic in General Discussion
I know you have earned it mate like most players do. Playing at tier 7 is completely fine, even with that OP Belfast (I have one too and know what a div can do in it). But your stats show everyone that you have earned it and even without your current clan, you would still have a great Winrate/XP and damage. You play all tiers to a good standard, different Ship lines (CV's may be lacking ) and the majority of your games have been tier 8+. That's is an example of someone who HAS EARNED his stripes. And you still continue to play high tiers ^^ Is a mad example. I mean 5000+ games in a tier 1 ship. Seeing his win rate drop as he was grinding so decided to go back down to seal club. Dear god. How will he ever know how good or bad he really is when playing ships and player like that? Most don't even know the keyboard controls at that tier and here he is with a 19 point captain. Each to there own but he/she can never claim that they are a good player. But he just might like tier 1 games and old WW1 BB's which is completely fine, he can play what he/she wants. We all have to look at ourselves. I have a 58% winrate and I am completely happy with this considering the following: 1) 3000 of my games were outside of a Clan . 2) I don't go out my way to seal club. I play low tiers manly when helping new players grind the lines. 3) I try to mentor others to play the game within the clan. Some players have not quite got their yet and in turn i will div up with...Not so strong players (yet). But i'm cool with that as it's about having fun. My winrate will not naturally rise like it would do playing with purples day in day out. 4) My Clan finished in the Storm league this year but reached typhoon the last due to players moving on to teams like HOME and OP (always a CG at heart tho). I don't div up with Unicum players. Just good lads that enjoy a laugh like most of us do. 5) Cant get to grips with DD's but play them all the same. Winrate be damed and i am a sucker for punishment (god they have a hard time) So knowing all that, I am happy with the way things are and my Winrate reflects what I do, how I play and with who. "to be content with little is hard; to be content with much, impossible" If i wanted nothing but a high winrate, I would play nothing but CV's, at low tiers, with Purple players (AA spec) day in day out and wouldn't div with who many would consider noob players. But if i did change my ways, then i would openly admit that the reason my winrate is high is precisely because of that. We just gonna be honest with ourselves. I take my hat off to players that play nothing but solo and still have a good winrate, considering. Anything over 55% when solo is an great achievement, more so in tier 9-10 MM. You then stick the same player in a Div, then a Clan, then a unicum clan, in a premium and play at lower tiers.....Watch his WR ROCKET TO THE MOON!Lol. But he has eanrt that and that can never be taken away from him. We have to take each player on their own merit. -
Winrate on stats - how is this even possible?
Redcap375 replied to Ukio's topic in General Discussion
Nothing controversial about it chap . Do you know the English Football league? The premiership is ABOVE the Championship. I think you might have that mixed up. Knowing what you now know, does that change what I said somewhat? We expect a higher league team to beat lower ones. All that proves is that they can beat lower teams...Not their equals. See now? Got to Listen chap. I said I don't mind what people play at whatever tier they want, said that a few times. What i mean is people need to "take it with a pinch of salt" i.e know the reason why they have such high win rates. So it's according to nothing as you misread the original paragraph and quoted it incorrectly. Couldn't agree more mate. Your completely right . I have already said that t10 meta isnt for everyone (can quote me above). But the point I was making through the whole thread is that those that constantly Div in lower tiers cant say "look at my stats and how good they are" because they are effeclty beating lesser skilled players. Mr Bolt wouldn't be the best if he just raced against county sprinters would he. I placed tier 7 on the higher end, just. It's more tier 4-5-6 that is more concerning. But tier 7 meet tier 5 ships becuase of the kinder MM which i have already said. I'm sorry but their is a reason i have a 82% winrate in my Kaga and it's not because i'm a fantastic Purple player. Imagine what a purple player can do in one AND with fellow clan mates in against tier 5 ships? carnage. And yes, t7 going back to tier 1-2-3 is seal clubbing? Wouldn't you agree? And yes they are the same, no problems with that. People can play at what ever tier they want (said that a few times now). But when people say "Look at my stats, look how great they are" they are kidding themselves. They are great because they are beating the hell out of tier 4-5-6 players. I mean people are still learning to really aim at tier 5 and there we are with ships like the Gulio, one shotting people out of the water. Had my 2nd game in it 3 days ago and got a Karacken. Is it because i'm a great player? Nope. It's because people are still learning the ropes, don't know what to fire at and what and don't know how to use things like the Mini map properly. I killed 5 ships mainly because they all showed their broadsides throughout the game, some right infront of me. I don't stick my hand up in the air and say "LOOK AT ME LADS, LOOK HOW GREAT I AM". Or dribble over my winrate. I actually feel quite bad for them. So, like i have already said a few times now, I don't care what skill people are and at what tier they play. Hell, I even play at tier 5-6-7. It's just that they need to look at themselves, like i do, and asked the question if they have really earnt it. Unicums constantly beating inferior players at low tiers in Divs is fine as far as the rules go, but they cant claim they have earn't their excellent winrate by doing so. -

Redcap375 replied to wilkatis_LV's topic in General Discussion
Chaps, Chaps, Chaps, Lets not be naive. It's a business at the end of the day and are in it for the £££. There were never just gonna give this ship away to "the elite". Now anyone can obtain this . The specialness of this little gem has evaporated. Instead of giving this special ship to people that have earned it through 3 Clan Battles and the pain that comes with it....They are effectively selling it now so, in time, anyone can "Buy" it. So...It's good for other players that don't wanna play clans battles and wallet warriors but crap for people who wanna say they have earnt it. WG has kept the promise about obtaining it via 3 clans, sure, but its the way they have done it again which makes me laugh. Quite clever really but in a cloak and dagger way. But just like Clans being at tier 10 (££££), Didn't it get people playing clans thinking that it was the only way to get it I have personally been in a match with Flamu in the Stalingrad 2 (on the same side) and it desecrated the enemy team. It wiped 2 ships of the map before i could get into position. To date, i havent seen a ship that can do did what it did to the enemy team, both BBs and cruisers. I really really hope it doesn't come out like.- 34 replies

Winrate on stats - how is this even possible?
Redcap375 replied to Ukio's topic in General Discussion
Some people just wanna win whatever and don't care who they are seal clubbing. To them winning is everything and they want the best stats. I think 99.9% of us thinks that have something like a 19 Point captain at tier 1-2 is....Wrong. It's actually sad. -
After beating both HOME and MDIV in their CV divs yesterday (both in the Kaga, one against a Saipan too (MDIV)) I thought it's a real shame CV players cant represent their Clans in Clan Battles. There is some really good solo CV players or lower league clans and i think they could easily give some of top clan CV players a run for their money. But alas, they arnt allowed to use their favourite ship class to really help their Clans. I play the Hindy in Clans and do enjoy it but......It would be a massive bonus if I/we can use the ships we really like to help the Clan out. The best player I have ever come up against was a chap in the Gale league. What a bonus that clan would have with him in a CV. Still think it's crap to exclude a whole line out of clans. It works in tier 8 inter-clan games so I don't know why they cant do it in clans.

Winrate on stats - how is this even possible?
Redcap375 replied to Ukio's topic in General Discussion
Purple player Div's seal clubbing at the low tiers. You cant get any more simple than that, no black magic involved apart from the few Mods they use. You stick 3 of these players in a Div with a Saipan and 2 AA support ships (Flint, Belfast or Atlatana) and you are 3/4 way there. Against the average tier 5-6-7 player too. Or in a tier 6 CV with 2 Clevelands AA spec. Chaps, It's not hard to figger this one out. Players with over 5000 games playing a CV at tier 6, with a Div against a wanna-be CV captain with under 500 games and is only just learning to Strafe and man aim, on his own???? There is only going to be one winner isn't there It's everywhere. I'm currently helping clan mates get through tiers 5-6 and I am very surprised how many Purple Div's are knocking around down there. I dont wanna name or shame but you know who you are Tier 7 MM is IMHO the kindest tier. You stick a good tier 7 CV captain in a tier 5 match then it's butchery in things like the Kaga and Saipan. Is it fair? Well, people can play whatever tiers they want to. Some people don't like high tier meta so it's completely understandable if they wanna stick to tier 5-6-7 games. But you gotta take that WR with a pinch of salt. It's like Man City winning all their games in the championship league. Doesn't show that they are really good, only that they can beat lesser teams/players. Most of us play different classes right? That effects Winrates. If I wanted a really high WR then I wouldn't touch DD's with a barge poll or have played ships like the Cola. But I do because i want to try all the classes and have fun. Each to their own. So when I see Winrates like these then I feel kinda sad for them to be honest. Only playing one class of ship and not leaving port unless you have 2 AA spec Den Mons or Minos with you? But like i said, each to their own. The truly good Clans stay at the higher tiers and their honest WR reflects this. They are the true players that deserve those WR, not the seal clubbers. -
Maybe you should stop doing Div's with me and Mazzon mate
-
Yeah, equally they can get one-shot by any tier 8-10 BB. Makes 20K damage looks like chicken feed Lets see how it pans out. Either way, i'm looking forward to new ships in a game. Think i'm more of a heavy Cruiser man myself though
-
Don't need smoke when they have islands and with those shell arcs. Minos do the AA job fine with radar and no smoke. And as for AP bombs?....Not a chance, not a CL anyway. Heavy cruisers and BB s yes, but I don't think light cruisers will be effective ever.
-
Not a DD player, but i do feel sorry for them (mostly). Radar is good in small numbers, but it's getting out of control. When alot of ships (soon to be 2 more) have radar against a small low HP ship that lives on being invisible and sneaky then it's not good at all. People will be even more unwilling to push and further camping will take place. DD players will lose their wheelbarrow they use to carry their brazen balls in.
-
Might give CV's another rest when the new US light cruisers come out. The amount of AA these two ships will pump out is going to be comical, especially against tier 8/9 Cv's. It's gonna be popular too because alot of players had the Cleveland at tier 6 when it moved to tier 8. The Battles are going to be flooded with them for the first month or two. Maybe if we all hide our CV's people wont AA spec them . Then again, like they will really need to AA spec them to be brutal
-
Horses for courses. AP doesn't solve it all and nor does HE. You have to weigh up all the factors in any engagement. HE is simple constant damage. AP is a gamble, but pays out dividends when right . Team play is completely different as they are using teamwork to beat the enemy in question, so your Fuso. "Fire on, fire off, fire on" tactic is nasty , especially when you have two conqs doing it. If your angling against 2 ships then off course they are going to HE spam you to death (depending on the shells they fire) as they will strip the HP off you quicker than an angled BB with AP. Unless he is in a NC or Alabama ect that doesn't need to HE spam you because he can cause massive AP damage to you (fuso) even bow on, straight through your deck. Plus they know that they are going to do constant damage between them against one ship. Using AP can be a gamble against good captains that know their stuff. And your talking about a Kongo and October, both of which wont do that much if you angle against their AP. They are actually being smart and using the correct Ammo for the situation. They could have been crap and shown their broadside at any point for your AP....But it sounds like they didn't so made your AP redundant Sometimes you load AP waiting that that torp Turn or mistake...But sometimes that never comes and HE would have been better in the long run. Saying all this they both could be noobs and did it because... but "double team HE spam" is a tactic. We use the tools given to us. What they should be doing is smacking other broadside targets with AP using the Mini map But if your their only target then....Get the marshmallows out. That's Fuso guns for you. GREAT cruiser killing guns but pants against angling BB's. Disengage and become invisible or kite with HE spam if they chase. Fuso AP is still great against tier 6 BB's broadsides.
-
My 2 pence mate although you have prob brought one already. Scharnhorst - Solid tier 7 BB (we will call it that for now). Brilliant cruiser killer guns with fast reload, fast, Tanky with nasty torps, good secondary and decent AA. what is not to like? Biggest downside is that the shells struggle against BB's (AP), more so the higher their ones. Belfast - Smoke, Concealment, Radar and RN with AP and HE. Even after smoke nerf it's OP. If you wanted a really high win-rate you would div this with certain ships and watch your WR sky rocket. Kaga - The seal clubber CV when the stars are aligned against tier 5-6 ships. Very good against tier 7 but starts to really struggle against tier 8 and ineffective against tier 9 ships. There isnt a better CV out there that can deal with DD's more than this with it's drop patten. Can tank quite well for a CV and has good secondaries. Your planes are weak individually but you have so many torp bombers you can just keep on spamming them. Alabama - Great ship. It copes very well with the bad tier 8 MM and doesn't mind being up teired. Heavy hitting guns and Fantastic AA that melts tier 10 planes. Tanky bow-on with a turning circle of a cruiser. Accuracy is a bit hit or miss but the closer it gets the better it is. The torp belt is fantastic and even perfect DD torps wont outright sink you that often. It's not a target a CV player will even wanna try against you, it's not worth the effort. Giulio - What a ship. Fast, nimble, good concealment and the accuracy is great with plenty on guns. It's the Cruiser killer of the low tiers. As I already have the Taxas i didn't really want another tier 5 Prem but as I seen this beauty on sale I has to have it . Plus needed a Italian trainer ship for later. It's better IMHO but i still like the Texas. I cant talk about the DD's really but the Kamikaze Is a DD seal clubbers dream at tier 5. Sapain, Atlanta, Kidd ect are good ships but you really need to know the game to use them properly. For you OP? I would say the Giulio to learn the game, solid ship. If you really wanna go there then the Sharn would be your style. Don't go for tier 8 ships, your not ready yet. IMHO.
-
This ^^ and This ^^ There is simply nothing better than being a CV captain in a hurricane as @El2aZeR has stated. No to mention the enemy CV hardly spotting your own planes and engaging (which can work both ways). It's likes flies in a bean can.
-
CV main as I enjoy the RTS style and eye in the sky view. Passing on information to the rest of the team who might not see (if they listen is a different matter). It's also more of a 1 vs 1 skill wise against your opposite and that's the biggest factor for me. 50/50 split regarding CA and BB's. Started the game as cruisers but have been slowly been switching to BB's. Getting whacked by more and more cruiser killers (Sharn, Lyon, Hood ect) was doing my head in. I can see this getting worse when they bring out Battlecruisers/ Pocket BB lines. However, some of my fav ships are in the Cruiser line and love the team play aspect of them. DD are and has always been my worst line. I simply can not get into them and truly feel lost in one when the game starts. Without a shadow of a doubt the easiest class to play are BB's. Especially when you have some that turn quicker and tighter, faster, better AA, and have better concealment as actual Cruisers.

Best troll-secondary build for Alsace?
Redcap375 replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
Knowing what I know about brawling ships as I love to play them I would stick BFT, AFT and Manuel Secondariness...That's it. I wouldn't bother with IFHE. It's not a Curry or Gne when those IFHE really shine and it cant sustain a long drawn out scrap like the German ones can, giving you the time to really put the secondary hurt on. It will melt against other BBs. I think having MAA as the 3rd 4 skill points would be a great addition. I love surprising CV players like i do in the Conq. PM PT EM BFT AFT MAA MMA Great over-all solid build IMHO. That's how i would run it anyway. I like the look of the ship as there are so many possibilities as it's got alot of things going for it.. More tanky? Sure thing. Floating AA boat? No problem with BFT, AFT, MMA and range MOD. Secondariness? cool, ill stick BFT, AFT and Manuel with Secondary MOD (IFHE for giggles). Bit of everything? Please see above..Great ship all in all. -
In a nutshell, Can I reply by saying that it's what comes with being CV captain? And that you have barely 30 games in CV's to really know what it's like at all. Half of what you are saying doesn't exist in tier 8+ games and very very few at tier 7 games ( 1 vs 1 only). But i understand your pain and frustration. Once had to defend against and in the end WIN against a Saipan AND a Ranger in my Kaga as the other CV Was AFK. My god was it tough but the the satisfaction you get when it comes off is great. We have all faced the same problems you have mate. Please, if you think it's hard now then prepare yourself. You will be put off for life and curse the gods in tier 7-8 when facing tier 8-9 AA on some ships. However... You have to go through this wall of pain in order to progress. Low tier CV's are trial and error time with people only just scratching the surface and most don't last the course for a number of reasons. Plus have you seen a tier 10 DD player play in the tier 5 kamikaze? Anyway, I shouldn't bother anyway now to really learn how to play it (first time i've said that, doom)....They are completely changing to probably something my 6 year old Irish wolfhound could master. I too will be sad when they change the RTS side of things but there is nothing anyone can do about it.
-
We all have our opinions on the matter. It's not just a small change....It's completely remaking the whole thing and people have invested both time and money into the current CV line. I enjoy the way it is now. As in a "Command and Conquer" point and click style. I have grown up playing games like that and enjoy the eye in the sky the CV game-play gives you. If I want to play the controlling a plane one at a time kinda thing then I would play WOWP or Warthunder. I don't. But...Saying all of this I have always tried to keep an open mind and when it comes, which it will, then I will roll with the punches. At the end of the day I/We are all just grains of sand and if they get rid of all the old players, they will always attract others that will enjoy the new version having no experience of the way we used to do things. All that experience, skill, sweat and tears that you go though trying to be the best you can just for WG to say "yeah, changing it now, thanks for your time but reason..." is quite hard to take in for some and i understand that. I would be alot more at peace if WG explained WHY they are making the changes. If it's because of player skill gap (which they mentioned at the start of Clan Battles) then: Apologies chaps and that was uncharacteristic, but I have no sympathy for people who fail to learn but still moan. "I'm getting seal clubbed in my CV at tier 5, then at tier 6 ect..." Well guess what? So did I fella. You gonna take it on your knees or you gonna man up and stand on your feet. You know what i did about it? I read, learnt, watched videos and spent time knowing things to help me fight and in time, win. CV play is the hardest class to master without a shadow of a doubt and it's not eveyones cup of tea. Some of the eye watering AA makes this task even harder. Limitations are the Shackles we bind to ourselves I hope to god they don't dumb down the skill ceiling so that any muppet can play it and the games goes full circle. They should reward people who practice and put in the hard work. Not the "point and click" that was before strafes that was not only so mind-numbingly crap, but depending on what nation you was, an automatic win or lose. Period. Monkey see, monkey do. Then they bring something into the game that is so simple, Strafing, to reward people with braincells and guess what? 3/4 of the CV playerbase still cant strafe!!!!!! So basing it off that, god only knows what WG will do to bring it down a level they think people can play them at. Chilled now... However, if it is purely because the majority of players don't like the way it is set out then you know what? Fair enough. What I like may be completely different to someone's else's and that's cool. WOWP it is then. So it's why they are changing it, not that they are going to change it that i feel strongly about. Just don't dumb it down WG. Change the way it looks and plays if you have to, but just DON'T DUMB IT DOWN. I wanna hold my head up and say that i'm a good CV captain, not a "yeah, just like the other 100%"
