Ok then, lets see how this goes down in CB then chaps? Not one of you that owns the Stalingrad have said it's too strong or OP in this thread. Even though it tops most of your damage and WR in tier 10 cruisers, and completely stomps on your Moskva ratings. No surprises there then. I will be amazed if this forum doesn't get inundated with threads about this ship and how their clans are getting walloped by them time and time again. What was it that Flamu said....."This is some broken S***". I remember posting something like this when i first seen him during testing in it. And i commented the same (will dig up the comments). Your all good lads i'm sure, but this one i am afraid we differ. I cant help but feel there is a little bit of bios going on here with some elite mentality being thrown in too.

It's a cruiser killer. Period. I don't think anyone could argue about that.

Clans with Stalingrads against each other is one thing. A clan full of them (or even half) against one that hasn't is a completely different kettle of fish. Those are the ones i'm really concerned about this clan season. It like fielding extra Battleships in a game full of cruisers. There is a reason why only one BB was allowed in the first place.

On a Battleship? Yes it is. Because the shells, accuracy and HP sure as hell don't look like a cruiser to me. 33% fire chance from 9 laser shells can not be underestimated when its facing a bow-on Kurf or Yam. Or it can simply citadel both of them from the sides. 9,200 base AP a pop, wow. Poor British Cruisers angled or not, doesn't matter. Planes? You and I both know what any ship that can equip defensive AA can do against tier 8 planes. Pop that button within 4.5 km and panic missing (even more so with bombers as its a very slim target) with half your planes gone. 5.7 km AA range with AD per S at 167.1 on the 130mm STOCK? Not bad at all. Most will slap AFT and flag which makes it even more lol. DD's? BB AP shells with laser acc against a target lit up like a Christmas tree. Because we never see Stalingrad bow-on do we beyond 18+? Not like it needs to and can just angle kite. Nearly every cruiser in tier 10 gets citadelled by another one. Only this one hits HARDER and is more accurate. Not the mention the auto bounce they could resist adding onto the thing (American flavour my A**). Accurate BB shells every 17 secs (without AR) from a comfortable distance of 20+ plus? Punish people "that make mistakes"? Please see the above comments: Fair enough, at least you stood up and said it (expected nothing less from you mate ). However, i am of the opinion that it is OP along with the rest of my Clan and all those then even call the ship out before the battle even begins in Chat.. Agree with many things you say @Commander_Cornflakes but totally opposite regarding this thing. If this makes it into clans then what you have is a Battleship with the utility of a cruiser, taking a cruisers spot. In a game full of cruisers this is a very very bad mix. That's not even taking DD's into considering with yolo BB AP and radar to boot. You then put this into the hands of unicums and the gap is massive. As for KOTS then lets see. But i've seen alot of competitive teams kitting themselves out with at least 3 of these things per match. I don't blame them. I know to the elitist this ship is well earnt. To some it even fees like that end game content that people harp on about and want a strong ship. But since when did we stop thinking about the other 90% of players that play this game. Those casual players than finish a hard days work, hop onto the computer and have a few games. Those without premium accounts on constant renewal. The same ones this ship is beating to death in tiers 8, 9 and 10. Please see server stats. All People see is an OP ship in the hands of unicums. Doesn't paint a good picture of the game does it? At least their isn't many about at the moment, but after the first CB they will be alot more. But in true WG style, they will probably nerf it at that exact moment when too many people have it (Like the Hindy).

Yes I do. As well as the other 90% of casual gamers that get wacked by BB guns on a cruiser with cruiser accuracy. Not to mention its very handy consumables and armor and ect ect. The Stalingrad is the most OP ship there currently is in this game. Period. "little bit strong" for clans? God that's the understatement of the year. It will be those that have them against those peasants that don't. Not OP.... I do wonder what some people are smoking. I know the elite guys will defend this thing regardless of what I, you or anyone says but dear god open your eyes chaps. @Earl is right with what he's saying.

The same that happens to 99.9% of the cruisers in this game , yeah. Thing is you don't see many Moskva kiting in CB...funny enough. And im sure I don't have to tell you about the differences between a Mino and Zao. It involves armor, HP, range and salt and pepper. But if you think the Hindy is better in CB than the Zao then cool. That's your opinion. I have mine.

Yeah great, but considering we don't have either in our CB roster my Hindy is still the highest concealment. No the Moskva doesn't have an underwater citadel. However, i do know what it does have and involves 50mm of it and radar. I feel like your underplaying the yolo torps bit. A ship that can fire from invis is very strong, with very good range too. Something of which the Hindy can only dream of. The Zao is a better ship for CB now. That's coming from a Hindy player.

But brawlers are meant to have less concealment. Look at the Bis, Tirp and defo the Massa? It's the "balance" aspect to brawling. I don't think WG would like you being invisible until your practically in their faces and they cant do much about it. But playing in CB with the ship with the highest concealment rating sucks (Hindy). More so if you use the legendary mod. The Zao is the new Hindy in CB. It has buff torps, much better concealment and a better HE spammer and kiter. All the new ships that have come out since has pushed the Hindy further and further into retirement. Did anyone truly think at any stage that the Hindy needed nerfing in the first place? NOT ONE OF US. It came completely out the blue. I have switched to the Des recently and have left the Hindy in the port for quite a while actually.

Well that match had all sorts of CV bugs in it. Couldn't strafe out of anything and it wouldn't allow me to select any planes after 2 mins in.

CV's at tier 8 is a extremely painful experience. Unless you have a AA div, forget it most of the time. Nothing much you could do so yeah.

Bumped into @DJ_Die in his Shokaku 2 nights ago on the enemy team. Yeah his team kinda crumbled and a comfortable win in the end He didn't sound too chuffed in chat. I don't blame him.

Ok so what would happen if they do put very short range (3 km) 2 x 2 torps on some of these Battleships then? Would it change the balance of the force? Regardless if its sailing broadside to do it, would it increase more brawling in the game? Or would it do the opposite? Lets keep an open mind about this lads.

Yeah well, the Stalingrad is the most OP ship that has even been in this game. It is down right appalling that WG let this ship come out like it has and even when their on my team, it feels dirty and I don't like it. As for the poor Hindy which was my favorite cruiser? Well i play the Des now so it sums that one up and the Zao is now better in CB. It's been thrown into the World of Gimmicks and is currently lacking. It's a brawing ship in a world of long range spam. It's a non radar ship in a radar world. It's a salt water fish in a fresh water pond. What made it good was it's jack-of-all trades, but since the buffs of the other ships which has made them become alot stronger in their particular fields, the Hindy got worse. Ask yourselves, how many times have you seen Hindy players spamming from the back? Because they know that they have worst concealment than even some BB's and don't wanna be that HE spam magnet. Not to mention the Yam and Republic AP shells that just wreck face. The radar. The Des Mons thrives because it can support DD's and quickly end them. The shorter radar stops them from supporting more than they try to engage at range more. A battle a Des/Salem will sendom win.

When will people get this. WG do it to make you grind other lines . To make you grind other lines and spend money in the process, in whatever form that may be. Hindy never had a problem and was a fantastic casual friendly ship, but too many people had them and no one was going for the Moskva, Henry and Zao. Look at the numbers now? It's worked just as planned. Just like the nerf of the Alsare. To make way for certain French premium BB's that are going to hit our shelves soon. Games Workshop do exactly the same thing. This game can't afford to stagnate as that means less money. conscripts were the flavor of Astra and everyone had waves and waves of them. Until they brought the new codex out and WHAM, conscripts are now god awful. Tanks Is the new flavor and what did everyone do? Start buying tanks. Money talks, players opinions and balance walks. We all said it was a S*** idea but yeah, here we are. Not all doom and gloom for the Hindy, but an unnecessary one. As for the Roon? Yeah, complely unfounded and not needed at all.

See I don't go for ships that play the same. So in my mind, the Tirps and Sharn are kinda similar if you catch my drift. Just less armour with smaller guns but far better MM. I would personally recommend the Massa if "fun" and "brawling" is your goal. But it's another tier 8 BB so you might not want to have 2 on the same tier. No-one can ever go wrong with the Sharn and is fun. The Alabama is a blast but isn't an out and out brawler like others. Yeah, Massa and Sharn are my picks for you mate regarding premium ships.

This is a funny thing because i didn't like the NC much...But loved the Alabama , as in it was my favorite BB until recently. I would highly recommend the Alabama. However, IMHO the Massachusetts is better and is my go-to tier 8 BB. It's just fun to play and still competitive in randoms, always smile when playing it. Without writing an essay, the Alabama is more of a front line ship, turns on a penny, great torp belt, fantastic concealment and has great AA. This is my AA spec BB and go-to when I div with CV clan mates. It also smaller so gets hit less than it's NC counterpart and seems to contract less fires (due to the close middle superstructure). However....The accuracy is worse. So bare that in mind. But the torp belt, turning circle, concealment and general tanky enables you to get into position and fire at an unexpected cruiser which hasn't even seen you yet Some ships in the MM you wouldn't want to be in when you get up tiered. The Alabama can handle it's self better than most IMHO due to it's heavy hitting shells and god like concealment. But i still like the Massa better However, you need a dedicated captain for her like someone else has already alluded you too. All 3 ships are playable.

I think you hit the nail on the head with "boring", doesn't mean it's bad tho. Does the defensive AA still work if the rockets have been destroyed? I cant remember...Never underestimate Defensive AA, regardless of how much AA it has. But i think i would enjoy it's play style.
