love this ship and really fun to play: PM,AR,BFT,IFHE,AFT,Mansecs and EL i think. Lets you deal with crusiers whilst your heavy hitting (but wonky) shells pounds Battleships. Its so bad at sniping.
-
Lets all be honest here. The concealment of this ship when spec is bat S*** crazy for a Heavy Cruiser with 203 mm guns and auto bounce AP? Not including defensive AA and Radar to boot. Having the ability to pick your engagements with ANY cruiser and punish him hard in a single salvo is stonking good . I will certainly be buying this if it comes out like this. However, it's still in testing so things might change. Plus, if you put this in the hands of a dummy then it will get wrecked very very fast.

Do German BBs need IFHE for secondary builds?
Redcap375 replied to Blixies's topic in General Discussion
It's simply a fun build. It's something different. But it's not the best build by far. Got really P***** off with the last team for pushing an enemy when we had all the caps (and Lost) (me and the TTT guy flamed our own team, it was like watching a horror show) so i hopped into the Kurf for a bit of close fun and anger therapy . Yeah, didnt go so well... I GOT BURNT TO A CRISP before I really started to be effective. Not to mention the complete lack of any spotting going on so any push was going in blind. Oh and torps everywhere which this thing eats badly when hydro isn't running (even when it is can be painful to turn against DW torps). Killed 3 but lost, again. It's simply not the meta for it. Gone was the days of this being the 3rd BB line and brawling was more of a thing. Now you have more and more HE ships (including BBs) which has turned this thing into a sailing wickerman. My WR goes down every time i play it. I know darn well i should tank spec it, but to be honest, it's something different and reminds me of a time long ago. I refuse to sit back in my arm chair and spam everything from a distance all the while. -
Look... People who have this ship have earnt it, no doubt at all. It's fine in Randoms as it is what it says on the tin, randoms. No one is saying don't use this ship when you have alot more players on the enemy team, even if i think it is OP what what it is. I.e it's a Battleship (like even Notser and Flamu pointed out). It's a Battleship with radar and accurate Battleship guns with even auto bounce. But in a competitive environment when there should be a level playing field and the lost of just one ship can alter a whole game, this thing should be docked in port. It devastates cruisers like a Battleship. Don't compare this to a Moskva, it's FAR superior than that and we all know it, nearly all of your own stats completely prove this point. Completely supersedes it with even a 32% fire chance and auto bounce for good measure to name a few. The thing is they had to make this ship strong in the first place to make all that hard work worth it. Which top clans and players would wanna get this it for it to be pants? No one, they want to have earnt a strong ship and use it in things like Clans, i completely understand this. A very good player in an OP ship, whats not to like? Gives you the edge doesn't it? But......Have a out-of-body experience for a moment and put yourselves in the shoes of those that don't have this extremely strong ship? See it from their eyes, a Clan div sailing a OP ship gunning down peasants. In CB this is very unwise due to the nature of only having 1 Battleship in the first place. It took a team like TWA to beat OM full of Starlingrads (even though OM really didn't play that well IMHO, off day i think). What chance does normal clan that don't have them (the vast majority) have when they are scrapping their way to the top only to meet teams with theses in them. It will be sole destroying and doesn't paint a good picture. Don't have your own agenda and be selfish, but think of the majority of casual players that play this game. Remember, you were one of those once upon a time. Silver ships only will be equal in CB. Only the captains skill and team tactics will win out and that's how it should be. Not going to get dragged further into this now because it will go round and round in circles and i'm too old and tired for that S***. Some people live in ivory towers and hardly look down anymore. I've said my peace regarding the Stalingrad and competitive. We all have our own opinions and some, agendas. Lets see how it all pans out.
-
This ^^ but i don't know why they would even contemplate leaving it out of KOTS or Clans. LMod are there for the taking for anyone. Because that makes up the Majority of the player base. We need to inspire people. I would classify myself as a casual random player in a casual clan that really enjoys, like most of us do...Clan Battles. This is not a game for elites. So yes, Clan battles and KOTS should be balanced around random players. So "Random" players can see that nothing is out of their reach, including KOTS. The only difference should be 1) The skill of the individual and 2) The tactics and teamwork involved to win. It's should not boil down to who has the best toys to which to play with. Worcester is not OP, no. It's a cruiser and doesn't profess to be anything else. And like all cruisers, they die they same way. Except this one doesn't have torps or killer knock out blows like some tier 10 cruisers. It has rainbow arcs which are hard to land with a long range and more often than not fires HE which is reparable. They are also restricted by islands which they love to hide behind. Which can also work against them. I fear a well sailed Mino over a Worcstesr any day of the week and the Mino is far from being OP.
-
Again, thank you for the reply. No, because even the most casual player that hasn't touched any premium time and plays nothing but randoms can still save free XP to acquire the Worcester at some point. Or hard grind it with flags and camo, might not be able to do it in a day but within the week? Highly likely, if they put the time in. Plus most had Clevelands and only needed 2 tier anyway, so massive win You can always grind it by day to day playing. How long would it take me to grind the Stalingrad as a random casual player in a casual clan? The Worcester is still accessible to the average player at some point. Those that have tier 8-9-10 US CL ship and wanna spend that extra free XP they have saved to get the Wochester can do so. Within minutes of that ship being available we had a few casual clan members play hard or free XP that ship. If you really wanted to, you could have ground to that ship in 2 days (estimate). That can be done by anyone. No Steel required, just playing randoms games over and over again solved that problem. Can we have done that with the Stalingrad? Nope, not one of us at the moment. So would i have left the Worcester out? Of course not, it's still a silver ship. No-one could say that was unfair to include it and i think the majority would understand that to be perfectly honest. I don't think the Worcester was the best example to support your reasoning to be brutally honest. Good piece of marketing tho by WG with that one A tool that isn't accessible to everyone by a long shot. Do you see where i'm coming from. Your presuming that many have the Starlingrads which defiantly isn't the case as we all know. You've got to be careful here. Your basically saying that Top clans/players can unlock Mino's and Worcesters where the rest of us have to do with what we have. Hummm, not great PR is it? Plus the Mino and the Worcester are far from being OP. Unlike the Starlingrad. But, thank you for your thought process (like the above quote) which is refreshing with actual thought behind it. Well written and i mostly agree. Although i still believe the Stalingrad is OP mate as the ship does put the enemy at a disadvantage. Lol. Having the playerbase behind you is worth it's waiting gold with games like this. Don't separate those that do and those that don't in fair competitions. keep up the good work @TobiAssho and your team, which i'm sure you do.

Thank you, takes a better man to know when hes wrong than when hes right. I also apologise if you somehow took it that way. And yes you have some good valid points. Randoms to me is a exercise in frustration most of the time (like single ranked), but personal skills are still the same. I wouldn't play this game if i didn't play in divs. I like the teamplay aspect of the game (what left of it anyway) and chatting to crazy people whilst doing it. Helping CV's out with AA ships or DD's out with radar. That small bit of teamplay keeps me in this game. That's why i'm looking forward to having a laugh in clans. As you can see, my clan isn't the unicum Clan of the century But good lads. It's not like i div with 60+% clan mates...More like 45-50% . But most are getting better and that's what it's all about.

1+ cant beat experience.

Steady on there tiger, I didn't mean you. Calm down fella Did i mention your name in any of those comments? or quote anything you have said? Or have you incorrectly presumed....Thought so... Why would it even be pointed at you in the first place anyway, wouldn't make much sense would it now with your stats, come on? And i have no idea what your bloody Yam stats (if that is what you are getting at) are anyway? Lol. Only that alot of Yam players stay at the back the whole game and refuse to tank. I have no idea if that includes you are not. Like i said, people just need to analyse themselves. Call me wrong or say i'm talking alot of tripe, but don't misquote me and look like a (you know what). Maybe an apology might be in in order sir? I would happily change the wording to a more general tune if that can satisfy? I don't bash anyone with stats. I Only use them when i have to on certain people to help prove valid points or facts. Could your WR be also influenced by the fact that you played ALL OF YOUR GAMES IN DIVISIONS, while majority of my games are solo? If only you knew who i div with this last week But your right, solo games are alot harder and always will be, no doubt.

First of all, thank you for your response. It's nice to know that you peruse though some of these threads as i can imagine some can be difficult. 1st: Accessibility Tough one isn't it mate. It's basically Who do we not want to cheese off the most? The good competitive clans and players that have earnt it or the rest of the masses. To make things even, from the simplest level upwards you need to provide the players with ships EVERYONE can have access too. Not the ones that won it, not the ones that paid for it and not the ones that have the steel for it (via clans and ranked). But the ones that everyone, premium account or not, can get. I'm talking about silver lines. There can be no come backs of " that's a premium ship" or "that's a reward ship" or "They brought there way to it", just a level playing field. Some people in this game will never get that much steel to require that ship. However getting a tier 10 ship is within everyones reach. If you truly truly wanted accessibility and equalness with the tool that you give to the players, then you would only include Silver ship lines. A level playing field. Remember, whatever silver ship you give very good players, they will always be better anyway. As organises you have to make decisions to create an equal tournament Most tournament in the world impose certain restrictions, like the Olympics. These are in place to make it A Level playing field. Where just because you have a rich daddy, doesn't mean it's gonna give you the edge on that certain apparatus. "Only when those two groups compete it might be a little unfair" you quoted that may i point out. That by it's very self, is not a level playing field. One team has a tool advantage over the other. We are not taking about fair, but equality. If i had to make your decision, even tho i have a plethora of premiums ships and soon the Stalingrad, i would still make the rules that ONLY silver ships be allowed. Then you would have the majority behind. However, i do not know who pulls your strings and what you have been told. After all, WG run the show. Maybe leaving the starlingrad and the like out is BAD FOR BUSINESS. If that is the case then all of what i have said goes out of the window. It's a company after all and equality comes second i'm afraid to say. That is life. 2: Overpowered I quote "It might be problematic in CB." No S*** right? Because your crossing that bridge that some people have it and some don't. Which you are worried about as it's, lets be diplomatic here, slightly more powerful for a cruiser would you say? So Kinda like a Battleship. I also quote "all ships could be called overpowered". Not without substance it can't It's another Battleship with auto bounce that can tank a whole lot of damage whilst proving the tools of a cruiser. All cruisers melt when getting broadsided and all melt when being consistently set on fire. What all cruisers don't have however, is the health of a Battleship, 50 MM of bow armour (most), radar and fast firing (for a BB), Cruiser accurate BB hitting shells that are long range. Oh and the stats, damage and Winrate of these ship at the moment on both the server and personal accounts. CB, when you have a restriction on BB's (1) this is bad news mate. Your effectively putting another BB against a team primarily made up of cruisers. But even taking all this into account it's not even relevant because it does not create an equal play field at the foundation to start with. Regardless of the ships potential. The majority of steamers called this OP, i called it OP from the first moment i seen it played and all of my clans mates call it OP. I'm sure i will to when i get my hands on it in the not-so-distant future. The Belfast is OP The Saipan is OP The Conq was OP, not so much now thank god This is IMHO OP. I have all 3 of the above by-the-way so i have no axe to grind. Oh and the Kaga in tier 5-6 game is the most destructive force in the Game, bar none. Have that one too. If you made Clans at tier 7 and actually allowed tier 7 CV's to take part (ho ho ho, CV's in CB? skill gap, not a chance), I would be the first one to voice about the Kaga and Saipan not being allowed to take part. Even though i own both of them. I'm not interested in people being malated with a OP ships in tournament play, i want things as fair as they can be, for all involved. Randoms are different as it's a free-for-all with no rules per say, tournaments (KOTS and CB) are different with restrictions. We need to come across as fair. 3: Unfair So...Taking into account all of the above that it creates an un-level playing field with the majority of the playebase and steamers (including stats) stating that this is Op, I can come to the conclusion that this creates an unfair, unhealthy atmosphere for the majority of punters. If i was you, which cant be easy mate then i would only allow silver ships in CB and KOTS. No one can complain then. But of course that isn't the greatest money making model for WG is it, nor would it keep the clans that have many of them happy? Difficult decisions but that's the game your in lad. Who or what do you value more... So what is the priorty? He who plays the piper, picks the tunes i suppose. Again, thank you for your comments and reply to the forum. I just wanted to put my point cross and you have nothing but my respect as you know. Wish you well.

See your damage spike when you use your Secondary? compered to when you don't? My i ask what Captain/mod skills you use? Because only one of those games you've lasted till the end. Regardless you are using a brawling battleship which doesn't fit the current tier 10 meta mate. Your gonna be ice skating up the hill right from the bat.
-
Much much Less then WOT, but i don't play that busted game that often to be honest. Used to love it when it first came out...Then they totally trashed it. Premium rounds to pen something? Suckers... I do say things in chat but only when people do some of the most stupid things that go over and above stupid things expected.

I have to say just how surprised i am with this ship so far. 10/13 wins and steadily increasing Damage and XP rate. Still tinkering with mod as i haven't made my mind up with the aim or secondary Mod. That reload is something crazy special and has proven time and again to be effective when it counts. Those shots that you normally have to wait 25+ secs for when the target has moved you don't in this thing. That is priceless. The other thing is the fear this ship can create. Cruisers know their in for a rough time and even Battleships try to stay away from that 12.4 km on secondary HE spam. It's fast which i use to it's full potential. Both to get into trouble and out of it, to flank and get those juicily side shots that DEVASTATE cruisers. The biggest thing that i worried about was it's armour. Yes it's 32 MM but you know what? Your still a Battleships and can soak up the damage for the cruisers. It''s turleback is quite good and against AP angling is perfectly fine. One vs One against a Montana yesterday and he kept on bouncing shells whilst i was setting him on fire every 14 secs. Marvellous. Don't be afrade to use HE, it's fire chance is mental. I have had 2 eureka moments in this game. 1st is that this game will never be balanced, It cant afford to as it's needs to keep on changing to make money. 2nd is that damage in Battleships don't win games, it's how you use them, just like any other class. I have lots of damage in my Conq but my win-rate is one of my worst. Yet the republic is quite low on damage at the moment but having some run-a-way victories in it. Basically i played like a Muppet in the Conq (afaid to say, camping more often than not). Have completely changed my ways in it now. It's about soaking up damage for your team and knowing when to disengage to heal up again. This ship is perfect for doing that, as it's quick enough. Camping at the back does very little in the long run. It puts more pressure on the other ship types who are soaking up the damage instead of you. Too many BB players are afraid to scratch their paint. Look at your own stats like i do and self analyse. Your damage might be fantastic but your win-rate is poor, maybe it's because you are hanging at the back more than you should do in a Battleship? I figgered that one out and my win rate has increased since since changing tack. Look at your Yam stats? You might have extremely high Damage which it can pump out, but your winrate is poor/fair. Just think if you stated to use more of that massive HP you have? You are there to take damage and dish it out....32mm, 37mm or 50 mm it doesn't matter. You need to take the hits for the team and if you can both at the same time? Yours is the world son This siverline ship is a keeper.

Do German BBs need IFHE for secondary builds?
Redcap375 replied to Blixies's topic in General Discussion
2 ships in the whole game that truly need IFHE to be proper secondary builds is Kurf and Massa. Because of the high fire chance and little gained from IFHE, french ones dont need it when going full spec. The gne has too short (8km) to really make it a true secondary monster, but its fun when you do get into range (128mm like the kurf with 1/4) The IFHE on the Massa so you can pen crusiers (no 1/4 He rule) and the Kurf to really hurt Battleships (32 mm). Bow on Iowa and the like melt quickly. I used to play nothing but secondary builds so have tired them all. Shame about the meta which doesnt allow much brawling to take place at higher tiers tho. Great fun build and works but im afrade to say the tank build is better in this meta. kicked the behind out of the training room regarding secondary builds. My captian skill is sort of the same but i use BFT and 2 fighter planes instead. BFT to help with secondary reload and planes and 2 planes to help with messing up the enemy drops. -
I cant recommend the Atlanta until you are completely comfortable on what a cruiser is in essence. US ones especially...A support ship. It lives off good positioning, map awareness, shot leading, captain points (many) and it's support ability. if you know your S*** regarding those then the Atlanta is a monster. Play it wrong and it's a one-way ticket back to the port. it's not a noob friendly CL at all (not saying you are by-the-way) If i had to recommend a first CA line to grind then I always point them towards the German one first. Unless they are, god forbid, a real team player then the US.

Does anyone have any advice for which premium to buy?
Redcap375 replied to black_falcon120's topic in General Discussion
Giulio Cesare... I will always recommend this ship to wanna be Battleships players. -
You can Imagine, but who's to say he doesn't? You cant judge a man before he actually does something.

Alexander Ovechkin - Dual Russian/American special captain

Better than 0% more HP in a tier 8 DD. -
Alexander Ovechkin - Dual Russian/American special captain
Redcap375 replied to Aragathor's topic in General Discussion
Anyway, I think Alex would be right at home on my KIDD for the extra HP. -
Sold mine when WG offered the refund and haven't regretted it one bit. kept the Belfast I found it boring to play and the smoke nerf hit it hard when distance was your only friend in Smoke. Plenty of good ships at tier 8, even if the MM is the worst.

Everyone has different limitations of moral conscience. Not saying at all that it's that bad But over and over again must wear him down poor lad. Staying calm is hard, staying calm and towing the party line is ever harder. I want a "MrConway Raw and unbound" thread I would pay real money to read that thread I tell ya. -

Great diplomatic answer there. Expected no less if i was being brutally honest. It must be hard doing your job and i don't envy you mate, saying one thing but thinking another. -
Depends if your more of a team player or not? After knowing which then pick the following: Helena: Fantastic Support ship. Fiji: A lone wolf. Both are great silver cruisers.

RN DDS are the worst line created in the last 2 years...
Redcap375 replied to RedGivesHead's topic in Archive
And there were so many people saying the Daring is OP. Ho ho ho. Anyway, i promised myself that i would grind a tier 10 DD in this game so RN it is. At Jarvis and not great so far, only 4 games in it but considering DD's are my worst line, it's gonna take some getting used to. The tier 5 was a blast but i'm starting to meet better DD players so gonna up my game. It's hard playing them when i've done nothing but hunt them down in Cruisers and CV's since 2013 -
Vel yes, but accuracy? IMHO Meh.. How do you play your Republic? I see you have had many games in her...Fancy sharing some advice with a novice Republic player like me? I tend to get in close at the start, unleash a few volleys at unsuspecting cruisers which hurt , take quite a few hits in return and start to kite slowly until ready to push. Meduim range to be honest. Any tips? or captain skills?
