    Put it this way. When you see the enemy CV with 2 AA ships you will want to do the same next time you play your CV. You might have 3 AA ships on your own team but if they are chimps and don't position themselves well, it's pointless. Where the enemy CV Div knows exactly how to spread them out to maximises sky domination. That's all down to communication. A good CV player with 2 AA ships can cause choas. Yes you can counter them, but my god are you ice skating up a hill. AA ships don't just park in the open do they? They are normally tucked behind an island with limited field of view, but a view no less. Trying to flank them without support is extremely hard if you have a CV that can fully operate without an enemy fighter interference. 2 Atlanta with a Kaga is one of the most destructive forces in the game. The kaga because of the damage potential when not challenged and the Atlanta because not only down to it's plane shedding abilities, but they can also fire from behind safety quite easily. @tajj7 with all due respect, if the CV class is so mind altering OP then how come you have a below average WR in them? You can say that you don't like the class or even it's RTS style, but you cant crucify someone that does because he has mastered the line. Love it when people lynch mob someone who is "gud" after telling most that come on these forums to "get gud" in the first place? ?? Maybe it's because @El2aZeR has mastered his craft and is considered one of the Best CV players I know. We can except that some players in many games simply stand out further than the rest. Like football players. Like OMNI players with a 81% WR in the Yam after 400 games? Does that mean the Yam is OP and needs re-balancing? Or should we shoot him down because he is defending a ship that he has invested alot of time in and mastered. He also knows that the Yam is NOT OP as he plays other lines too. If they brought a CV out that was out and out OP, then @El2aZeR would be the first to shout it's OP. If he wanted to keep his toys safe then he would keep stumped and continue to creater people. There are a few that i truly believe have no axe to grind and he is one of them. Plus he has both defended and attacked CV game-play at various points with non bios point-of-view. He defends CV's, like most CV players do, including myself, when people complain about something they simply don't understand or know about. What do you expect? CV players to take it lying down if the Shimmy player is complaining that he has no AA and keep on getting spotted up? "Nerf CV's to the ground" they shout. Only for every other DD player in the game that hasn't played a single game in a CV to join the bad wagon to defend their position in the game. It's not on and we need people to say "hang on fella, i play DD's too you know so wind you neck in". Like that chap talking about getting smashed in the Tirps with a bloody Anti BB CV like the GZ knocking around in his game? That's the kinda people we have to defend ourselves from on this forum. I can hand on my heart state that I never had any problems with CV's in the enemy team. My plane kill count on some ships, DD included are staggering. And yes, I have actually played more Cruiser AND BB games than my CV? Go figger. You seem to forget that most good CV players play ALL lines in this game. The opposite cant be said for the majority of players that play all the other lines EXCEPT CV's. They have no clue what a tier 8 CV in a tier 10 game is like and only see whats infront of their faces. Defending their little patch of grass oblivious to whats going on around them. Don't wanna sound harsh @tajj7 mate, but don't call someone out for being prejudice when it's simply not the case. And your objectivity regarding your in-depth CV knowledge comes from where exactly.... Come on lad, you walked into that one.

    Ships you kept

    Quickly just the ones that stick out and have kept in my port: No point including premium as most are just downright better. The Donky (tier 9) So many horror stories when it first came out and was riding the same wave before i actually got it. As soon as i got it, i loved it! Very versatile ship that can support at both short and long range, it can dish out damage and if played probably take it too. Completely the opposite to the Pencola which also had horror stories but with that one i hated every breath i took in it The Buddy (tier 6) Strong for it's tier. Tanky, good guns and great accuracy at range. The Des (tier 10) The ultimate tier 10 support ship. DPM is the name of the game and it has it in droves. fantastic AA platform and good anti DD hunter with it's long duration radar. The Hindy (tier 10). I will add this as it was my go-to tier 10 cruiser, but not as much now. Used to be very versatile and still easy to play in. Due to other tier 10 buffs it's been left in the port for a long time now which is a shame. Tahio (tier 9) Far better than the Essex IMHO. Will be selling the Essex when I've finished it's ground. The Tahio ability to do multi cross drops as well as 2 fighters and bombers is very very flexible. The Interdependence (tier 6) Great silver CV for it's tier. Solid planes with a group of each. Republic (tier 10) It's a cruiser in Battleships clothing and i love it for that with it's fast faring and hard hitting guna. Moves like the swiftness of a pistol. The Wyoming (tier 4) That much hitting power with that many guns? Makes short work of both cruisers and BB's. Has good AA for it's tier and solid armour. Umi (tier 2) Not a DD player but always have loads of fun in this. Fast Torp fest against lets be honest, seals bless them. I would say seal clubbing if i wasn't as crap in DD's in general Honorable mention to the HIPPER. Not brought it back yet but i enjoyed it. It was IMHO the most average ship i ever sailed. But those guns at tier 8 and it's versatility was great. One of my most fun games was in a Hipper with Planes swarming around me whilst i was knocking them for 6. Torping a BB whilst firing at a DD at same time...marvellous game.

    Hindy does not need a buff

    SI and DE are mandatory in Clan Battles and highly, highly recommend in randoms. No-one in their right mind would NOT have SI on the Hindy, especially now you have added one more consumable, you've only reinforced it. This consumable buff doesn't give people captain skill choices as the vast majority already have SI on their Hindy and it's even less of a choice now Of course adding an extra consumable will boost it living longer, but it will not change what people are currently doing with for.....SPAM HE AT LONG RANGE. And the Musashi... That's 3 very popular high tier ships at the moment with good cause. Or get spotted sooner (because of LM) and get blapped at 13.4 km.

    This will never change...Ever. WG has sent this game down that path long ago. That is not a dig at WG, just the way they have orchestrated all this due to many reasons, but mostly money. Players will continue to get worse, Teamwork will continue to go down even further (if that's possible) down the pan in randoms and WG will never change the MM. What we have now is going to stay and in order to keep sane, we have to come to peace with this fact or move on i'm afraid.

    And i feel sorry for DD players. Alot is expected from them now-a-days with all the Anti DD ships knocking around, heaps of hydro and radar and planes to boot. Not just from a selfish point-of-view, but for the sake of the whole team, you can not afford to be a potato in a DD.

    I can categorically state that torps have not been a problem for about 1-2 years now. Before that, torps were a massive problem. Now? Due to the sheer amount of radar, Hydro, Shimmy Nefs and DD's life span now-a-days, torps are completely fine at the moment. As for CV's? I'm not even gonna entertain you regarding how to defend yourself because any player with a brain cell can think of that one.

    IMHO the 3 most important factors are: 1) Not having a clue what their ship is designed for and default to camping 2) DD's dying early 3) Unbalanced teams and Divs 1: The amount of high tier games I have seen where camping is the norm is staggering. Games where either your friendly fleet or the enemy fleet just sails to a grid square on the map and for whatever reason.....Camp. Like they are so scared to scratch their paintwork and take damage. Only concerned about themselves. It's a human heard mentality which is contagious. The times I have held a whole flank in sometime like a Mass, Kurf or Jean Bart, having read the writing on the wall, only to look on the map and see 4-5 friendly BB's huddled together at the back, still full heath whilst other ships that are trying to win the game get passed around like a peace pipe, is soul destroying. So when everyone is dead trying to cap and actually win the game, those camping cowards are left with full health and proceed to get picked off one by one. The reason your losing is because the poor DD's and cruisers are taking all the damage us BB's should be taking! Casual players that play Battleships automatically think they just sit at the back and lob heavy shells. Even Gne, Tirps and Bismarck players do this which makes me wanna gouge my own eyes out. Under no circumstances should a Kurf be further back than a bloody Yam. Ever noticed that the Battleships are the ones always left at the end of the game? 2: From my experience, the team that loses the DD's first or gets handy-caped in this department, loses the game overall. No spotting, no damage for the above^^., no torping bottlenecks, no torping camping ships ect..All it takes is one team to have 2 good DD's players and you have a very good chance of winning the game. So if people knew what to do with their ships, you would have: DD's living longer because cruisers would be supporting them more both against enemy DD's and Planes. Cruisers living longer because Battleships would be taking the heat Battleships living longer because the enemy team will be dead by the time they get sunk or end, the cruisers would be providing them with AA support and the DD's would be spotting for them CV players will be happy as you have full AA control of the caps. Trying to get back into a cap with full air domination is close to impossible for the reds. So by thinking of the TEAM, you have by default, won the game. Alas, the first thing that comes into most players minds are "Me, me and me, damage, damage, damage, survive, survive". 3: Speaks for it's self. Some of the MM is shocking, 2 x 3 Unicum Div's against a mix of casual solo players? Only one real outcome there.

    Massachusetts: Skill-Setup

    Not on my home computer at the moment but i think i have the following: 1) EL As i use John Doe, it's a lot quicker. Due to the AP change regarding DD's, having the ability to switch to HE is the difference to a damaged DD and a dead one. Hitting it with this ship is a different matter tho. However, your normally that close that it isn't a problem 2) PM Don't like losing guns, especially from the front as this will take bow-on punishment and 30% will help that a lot. Plus I use 100% survival mod on my secondaries instead, so need to offset that. 3) AR Steal for 2 points. 4) BFT A choice but fits well with the rest of the build. 5) AFT Can't beat 6km AA range and you need to extend that secondary range to max. 6) Manuel Secondary Compulsory 7) IFHE Required to max out damage. Now the things that i personally think you need at least is AFT, IHFE, AR, Manuel Secondaries. The rest, like any ship is up to you but i like the "go big or go home" mentally in this thing. I use BFT as my third skill as I like to get the most out of those secondary guns, and it also helps alot with it's AA too. But i can totally see people using SI instead and unlike some of the Battleships out there, you will probably end up using all of them due to your quick heal consumable. So that's a case of staying power vs punching power. I always try to use CE on Battleships but you are hamstringing this thing if you don't go balls deep in secondaries and those 4x3 captains points need to go towards that IMHO. If i really had to drop one 4 pointer then it would be IFHE for CE. But i still wouldn't as dealing with cruisers is higher on my list. The trouble with no IFHE (like you with 14 points) is that you cant pen 27 mm which is massive in tier 10 games. So you wont be able to deal with tho bow-on Des, Wosters and the like effectively. Did lots of tests in the training room with it and IFHE was the way to go for the majority of targets. Flags off set the fire chance to only 2% and it cant pen Battleships anyway only the superstructures. IMHO, The fire chance isn't better than having the ability to directly damage cruisers. Without IFHE, you can't even pen 25 mm of armour. It's fire chance is small in the first. It lets you use those hard hitting guns on the Battleships as your secondaries are focused on the cruisers. It's decimates RN Cruisers and in a tier 8 games only (god forbid) it wrecks face. Shame the MM isnt kind at tier 8 with all those 203 mm knocking around. Hope it helps mates.

    Massachusetts: Skill-Setup

    My honest 2 pence worth: I really really enjoy this ship. That doesn't mean it's very strong or very weak, it's fun. I personally think it's a "gud". Start with the Bad It's slow. Very slow. So when this thing is committed it is their to stay. So finding the right place or side of the map is vital as moving location with it's concealment will attract alot of 203 HE fire. Concealment is really bad and will get spotted quite early trying to get into position. Tier 8 MM. I know you already know this but you will be facing tier 10's more which is a problem due to it's brawling nature and the current meta. Accurately. It's really bad and only just workable. Dedicated captain to make it really shine. My Alabama Captain is completely different (AA spec), without at least 18 points you are really handy capping this. HE spam like all 32 mm armour ships will wreck it. End with the good Got to mention the secondaries which it is all about. They are great but have limits. 1) The arcs are the best for firing over hills (unlike some of the Kurf) 2) angles are quite good which only requires slight angling 3) With IFHE can pen 27 MM of armour which is vital 4) fast firing Bow-on tankyness. Will bounce most AP shots. Good forward firing guns with 3/4 on the front Fantastic Torp belt and it needed it. Less afraid of pushing DD's down. HARD hitting auto pen AP shells. Good AA even without the Manuel Aim AA and AA mod (you will be using BFT and AFT) Fast fire heal that fits perfectly with the bawling mentally It's a ship you have to plough captain points and secondary Mod/upgrades/Flags to make it shine. If you don't then the Alabama (AA) and the NC (more sniper) are much better choices. In a tier 8 match it's brutal and can boss around even Bismarcks and Tirps because of the hard hitting main shells. It minces DD that it comes across and woe to the cruiser that gets caught within it's long secondary range. It struggles in tier 10 matches quite alot due to it's concealment and crap accuracy at range. The first thing that is normally spotted will be you getting into position and as soon as a bunch of tier 10 cruisers see you?....Your toast or at least burning quite bad. But when you find that position you can tank quite alot of damage for a tier 8 Battleship. There isnt many people, even tier 10's that wanna rush a Massa dug in. Which is great for a tier 8 ship in the tier 10 world. The fast heal it has makes sure that you stay in the battle long enough or at least win a One Vs One engagement. I never expect to last a game in this, though due to the state of some BB captains now-a-days (really bad), I normally do. It needs to do all it can to help the rest of the team and tank that damage and become a torn in the enemy side. Never, Never try to snipe in this. It's the single worse ship i currently own to do this with. But the Main shells, when RNG smiles on you, can really cause some damage just like the Alabama and NC. So the ship is telling us that it needs to play at close/ short medium range to really work. Pop in and out of cover if needed. Tier 10 cruisers will be your biggest worries as they will stay out of secondary range and spam you all day long. Hitting them at 14-16km+ is hard in this thing, if it does hit then it will hit hard tho. You will only last so long with a barrage of HE fire for CA's. Going invis is near impossible so backing up and reminding them that you are there is enough. Angle around the island so that any pushing ship gets to good news. Never expose your sides, but very tanky upfront. So: The NC if people wanna stay at the back a bit more (medium range) The Alabama for a great AA platform for a Battleship and wanna be closer to the action (great concealment) The Massa for some secondary fun. Tank builds are normally better on Battleships, but this ship brings something different to the table and brings some enjoyment into a static camp fest that is tier 10's. Put it this way, it's my go-to tier 8 Battleship. God i hate tier 8's, but i always do my part and effect the game where other tier 8's simply get murdered with nothing to show. That or they stay so far at the back they become useless and refuse to tank damage like the rest of the BB's I often end in the top 3 with nothing but tier 10 ships around me (not to sound stuck up). 61.11% 83,117 1,712 2.4 1.4 2.2 39% 30% 0% 1,421 ^^ My Massachusetts stats. Not bad for a tier 8 MM ship from a half decent player. Can you see that I take 2.4 ships down with me on average, that's gold for a tier 8 BB stuck in a tier 10 game and can make a massive difference. Yet my Survival rate is shockingly low (30%) but my WR is at 61%? I get stuck in, do the most damage i can, tank as much as possible for the sake of the DD's and cruisers and be that pest to move without a conservative push by the red team. Go down screaming and kicking like a BB should It's not a noob friendly ship but having a good working knowledge of Battleships in general will go along way in this thing It's fun and a "wham, bam, thank you ma'am" kinda ship.

    With all due respect, they (I will add we the forum) asked for a rework. Now a rework can mean a multitude of things. Too many people didn't like the way it was now because of: 1) RTS 2) Play style 3) Muti tasking 4) Skill gap 5) Apparent carry potential 2 out of the 4 could not be achieved with the current system, never mind a simple tweek and the rest would leave the line incredible boring to play. The vast majority of the player base asked for a rework and here is what we have. Or do we need to pull up all the threads regarding anti CV comments and their grips with the line, which included all of the above. Now I except that WG had their own agenda (to make it console ready) but we all gave them the spark they wanted. We asked for a rework and we now have it. I mean some players don't even want CV's in the game full stop. So we asked for a rework. What we expect is completely irreverent as i expected a pay-rise every year which was normally the normal for the job i'm in, i didn't get it this year. Don't expect anything with this Company I never asked for a rework at any point and many good CV players didn't. There is a plethora of examples regarding CV players saying good things and being completely ignored by WG. Like the run up to the GZ being released. That was pure £££££ and nothing you, I or anyone could have said that would have changed their mind on that one. I can safely say that all the good CV players have been ignored. WG were never going to a listen to anything we had to say. The funny thing is that i have never, never had any problems with CV's. Be it a DD, CA or BB. I cant even remember the last time I was sunk by a CV Genuinely. Those that play CV's knows what a good CV play thinks and reacts to it, completely limiting the damage caused by them. The problem is MANY PEOPLE don't.

    Glad I brought this with the coal I saved up. Paying the amount of Pounds WG wanted for the ship is daylight robbery for a bunch of pixals. It's a good Battleship for tier 9, but no-way worth it for that price. NO WAY.

    I just worry that giving back it's reload, which it should don't get me wrong, is just gonna turn it back into what it was before...A HE spammer. I understand what you are saying being a fellow Hindy player, but the vast majority resort to HE spam because they don't wanna get deleted by pushing/brawing against 4-5 Battleships. That and it was effective as a long rate spammer due to accuracy, range and amount of guns. I want to turn this into a true Cruiser brawler that doesn't do all it's damage by long range IFHE HE built-in Spam. I want to give it more tools to do that and for people to use the AP more. It was good in clans (I used it instead of Cv's and loved it) because it was muti role. Something which has completely been taken over by the Zao now due to it's better concealment (even more so if using the LM), Better HE at range and alot better 12 km torps which you can invis fire to boot. Plus it fits with the Clan Battles meta which comes down to positioning and arcs of fire more than anything, not the ability to brawl. Personally i think giving back it's rate of fire would make them look stupid, simple as that. What is easier than giving it one more consumable? An extra heal just makes me think they are more concerned about the amount of HE going around. If they wanted it to live longer to AP then they would increase it's armour.

    I take CE and AFT. Bring those short/Medium range AA can be the difference to life and death regarding CV's. Also helps the secondaries too which are poor but something. Tiers 6-7-8 is still CV territory so it all helps. Don't find FP that great as already mentioned. Plus the zombie heals too.

    Apparently we humans shouldn't be drinking cows milk too. Anyway OP, Tier 8 MM is like, the worst ever so get ready for that one. Just have to come to peace with it as WG will never change that MM. However, i do agree with this comment and have done for sometime now. Doesn't always put all the experienced players into one team, but they could at least make it more equal with splitting up Unicum divs and such. not perfect of course, but some of the teams have been so one sided it's not even funny. People counter this argument with "sometimes your on the wining team and sometimes you arnt", but that doesn't stick with me i'm afraid. More so for Solo players.

    If you wanna turn this into a brawler then here are some of my ideas: 1) Nerf it's HE capabilities. Be it the 1/4 rule or Fire chance. Force them to use AP more which come on, this ship SHOULD be using more of (It's supposed to be a brawler). Leave the HE spam to the CL's and maybe some CA (Zao). 2) Buff it's armour. 27mm does not cut it for a bawling tier 10 ships, Kurf players are refusing to push so whats the likelihood of a cruiser? Turtleback armour helps you from a close range salvo from the ship your charging, but what about the other ships that are firing at you as your in the open? It's still a cruiser at the end of the day with a cruisers HP (albeit it a bit more). Yet they give an amour buff it to a typical long range sniping ship like the Moskva??? Never understood that one. 3) Buff it's reload back to the way it was. German AP Shells shatter or simply bounce if the enemy isn't completely broadside. To counter that give it more shots of which to use. Punish that ship from turning around trying to get a way from your charge. It's not like you have all your guns on the target as your bow-in unless you wanna go into the cap sideways 4) Nerf it's accuracy. Classic counter balance of sniping ships. Please see Alabama/Massa/Bis/Gne ect... 5) Buff it's limited secondaries (range). Give it something else to work with up close. There are some of the ideas i would use to make this more of a Brawling ship. However, Brawling in this meta still isn't a good idea at tier 10 matches. Giving it another heal smells like WG are worried about the amount of HE in the game, which is alot. A Zao will still kite and burn it to death. The Moskva will still pen the hell out of it from a safe distance or burn it to death. The Des will still DPM it to death when it tries to close. The Henry will still devastate it with it's hard-hitting shells. The mino will still torp it to death and the Woster will still hide and burn it to death. The Hindy is the beast chance WOWS has for a tier 10 brawling ship. Yet it's still being used as a spammer *sigh*.

And the fun i've been having with murdering DD's and BB's on the new system It's still boring as hell tho and has many hoops to jump through to get to the final product.

    Almost at a point where i simply wont play games at the weekends solo. If i do then it will be div up to the eyeballs. Not like a give a stuff about WR and that jazz but it's not fun playing on the weekends. Too many people doing stupid, both sides. Plus SC had been updated and it's so much more playable now.

    It's not getting carried mate but 2-3 people with comms makes so much of a difference. Even some OMNI/OM players struggle to get over 60+ solo win rate Teamwork wins game more often than not and being in a Div simply increase those odds. Every time I come online my clan mates tell me to take my CV's out . But taking a break from them at the moment as the AA was getting out of control in high tier games. Enjoying the Jean Bart at the moment and guess what? It has extremely good AA for a tier 9 Battleship.
