radar and hydro through islands dont impact planes the way aa through islands did, so there will be no fix. oceans do some very odd things to visual detection. depending on weather it could make a ship seem to fly over the horizon at you in the sky, or it can make something invisible. and thats before talking about actually bad weather. part of why radar was so game changing.

Developer Bulletin for Update 0.10.4
SkollUlfr replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
heh. not quite pulling a bigpoint studios with the auction. -
there is also 10 years of baked in hacks and patches to a game engine and game they specifically desired to be as simple as possible, while still trying to compensate for the baked in monetisation of high tier play that didnt work out, but is still expressed in the game design... and now they are being faced with several other competing naval games, a balance schema that cant cope, a design direction that is self destructive, likely intransigent managers that dont even understand the game, and a manifestation of pressure for increasingly aggressive monetisation of macro-trans.

its better than that. they could add game mechanics complexity that would simplify the learning experience on the basis of "verisimilitude". i and others have mentioned many of these in the past.

you hide behind islands and camp them the entire match, playing peekaboo at less than 4 kts.
-
thats a funny way to add ranging shots as a mechanic. would be better to just hack in the dispersion reticule bloom from wot. since this will, if as described, be another boost to high tier, already comically accurate ships.

Should WG get rid of deadeye completely?
SkollUlfr replied to Porpoise's topic in General Discussion
the entire ballistic model is to blame for the 'camping' meta. they knew this back when they nurfed engines to deal with the peekaboo meta.- 24 replies

testing was the last point at which they failed with de. they failed at conceptualisation to address how player incentivisation would be impacted, before the first character of code was keyed, or the first draft of gui icons was sketched. from the outside looking in, it appears they let their own game become an an outside context problem, to themselves. THAT is a thing they need to question at a fundamental level. even this new skill is flawed, and would be much better as a flat 3kt boost or a boost that gave 25% boost at 15kts and tailed off to 0at 35kts. meaning the 18 kts bbs at mid tier could get up to 23 or 24 kts without being silly for things like richelieu as it is, its just another example of weegee adding things to drive players to rush for t10, where the fast bb are to get the most out of this, rather than adding things to make the game balanced and enjoyable.

Poll: Will you stop spending on the game?

the bot eye was such a display of systemic failure and pay to win that i uninstalled. -
"the thinking mans action game" vs "more pay to win nonsense" = only one of these can be true.

the thing i have been pointing out for years finally makes it into a youtube video. with people getting pissy about my saying aim assist is stronger the higher tier you play. why do people think the 'lock-on' exists in the first place? where do you lot think the "shells fall short bug" comes from? its the damn aim assist setting your elevation for you. -
no . you got reported.

sometimes these forums make me smile. that most of the posts in one thread do so is welcome. -
the way you get rich is by giving me all your money. this post says so, so it must be true. just because a map mode says a thing doesn't mean its consistent with the game mechanics.

oorrr, the people who do learn how to play it, realise it is a complete mess and either stop because they aren't inclined to sociopathy, or the just exploit the cheese for the easiest path to victory. the game is a mess of broken mechanics, that are so far out of whack that the game teaches the opposite lessons between t5 and t10. and most of what it does 'teach' is "open your wallet for high tier" stuff. the game is not set up to teach any other lesson than "spend to be top tier". -
buff or nurf to fire chance or intensity will no longer work within the game due to variation. the entire impact of how fire works ingame is in a fail state, as the mechanics are not fit for perpose any longer. with the way the game is now, how fire and flood is implemented is nothing but a collection of spite mechanics. the game absolutly requires these systems be rebuilt from new foundations. disabling burning sections(turrets, detection, radar), nurfing things related to on fire sections(range finders for acc, hydraulics sub modules,), only doing hp damage above set threshold of fires, would be vastly better.

... the thing they removed belfast for... all these cudgel mechanics they insist on breaking the game with are bloody spiteful. -

well... if weegee wanted people playing ops as an excuse for developing ops, they are achieving that goal. though... the game can be a little 1 meter = 1ft for some of its scaling. -

im playing from the depths now. plenty of warship itch scratchings. nothing wrong with that if you design them yourself. -

"unchecked positive feedback loop" comrade spreadsheet is bugged. there are at least 3 of these on display in the games development direction. pro-tip, the only thing "positive" about these is that then are self exacerbating of their own destructive influence. think jet engine that rattles itself to bits the more its powered up, but the person at the controls is like "i get more power the more it rattles so more rattling is good". -
