very small portion of the player base uses forums or game social media (usually way below 10%). And from those who do, they will be much more vocal when they feel something is wrong and just be silent when it works. This may give an impression that every forum post from every player playing the game is negative - in reality is can be 100 ppl out of 100k - negligible amount. people don't like changes, its disruptive. People feel like CVs are ruining the game now, but in reality the old CVs were - they were just so uncommon that ppl got used to that. Now CVs are everywhere, so it feels worse than before.
-
can't deny its dropping fast (85%/110k) we will see in the coming weeks
-
i understand you are salty about the rework, many CV mains are - the same ppl who caused CVs to be near-extinct class in the game. you still got some hours left, don't waste it on forums, last few doses of virtual ego wait for you ingame. tomorrow you can start backing up your claims how new CVs are more OP, how they can kill and permaspot DDs better etc. Have fun~ (or good bye) PS: good luck keeping that Enterprise WR and average in new "super OP" version of her.

ST Soviet BB special Damage Control criticism
RAYvenMP replied to IBloomJustForYou's topic in General Discussion
he said slow, so its slow! obviously slowest of all them Russian shells, period. -
apparently snowflakes refreshed on CVs after the 0.8.0 on US servers, meaning that the coal/steel can be gotten again from CV (that includes 200 steel for premiums like Enterprise, GZ and Kaga and Saipan, as new T8s) Thats extra 1000 steel for people who have those T10 or premium CVs. EU most likely gets shafted, as the event will end at the same time we get 0.8.0. good job WG. edit. Event will be extended by 1 day on EU (until 1st of Feb), see below posts. good job WG.

dunno, when it comes to CV vs DD interactions, i still feel that current CV capability to delete you in first minute of battle (and good CV can do it 90% of the time) is worse. There is also perma spotting with some leftover squad and torps spotting -- all of that is gone. what new CV can do is harass you with rockets, but he will have to focus on you for several minutes to cripple/kill you, giving you some time to retreat under AA/smoke cover. spotting may feel worse, mainly due to the 3 CV games, but once it settles down, it should get better than current perma spot style. DDs players may feel its worse, because bad CV players could not neither dev strike you or keep you spotted - because reasons - now dealing damage and spotting just comes along, not much skills required.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
RAYvenMP replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
one ship to rude them all! WG had a vision - to give all the psychos a weapon of ultimate abuse and harassment - Russian DDs - to keep them busy with turning and shooting so they wont ever have time to chat. But they evolved. -
experienced player as yourself understands that radar is the most powerful consumable countering DDs. After the CW rework, DDs will become the most influential ships in the game. Cap points are getting smaller, surrounded by islands with very little escape routes - when average Joe in DD decides to "play his role" and goes to contest cap, no matter if he will have support or not, its him vs enemy DD/CA/BBs - and he will die. If your team only has low/average skilled DDs and they die, your chances to win shrink considerably. WG wanna help the casuals as usual.

*names removed* this guy is currently Top3 in the PEF Hall of "Fame". he is able to produce 2300 games over 21 days (with average 10-15mins per game that would be playing 27hrs per day ..doh.) don't tell me he plays the game as intended, he yoloes every game and leaves the team 11v12 every single time in first minute of battle. and there are far worse than him, this one just happens to be among the highest ranked players in current Hall of fame ... wow just...i mean, lets rewards him with some santa stuff and camos and crap for being sucha dedicated player. just "winning" by doing nothing should not be rewarding event points or ranked stars...how hard it can be to stop this kind of behavior?

Whats the deal with players like this WG?
RAYvenMP replied to RAYvenMP's topic in General Discussion
what we need to understand is that this kind of behavior exists in many other "progression" based games - and WG cant simply kick them out. What they can is change the rules. the guy just realized, that playing 10 games within 20min for 100-200exp each gets him more than one serious game where he MAYBE gets 1500xp+ he plays every ship in every tier with same kind of results - around 150 games at T7, 200 at T8 and 300 at T9 to unlock T10 he is grinding, literally, and found the best, effortless and fastest way to do it is by yolo spamming games, as many as possible I believe that fact he popped at top3 EU in the event scoreboard is coincidence - but that just proves how flawed the rewards system is when a game or ladders are designed in such way, that spamming games doing nothing gets you further than playing normally - something has to change otherwise we will keep seeing bots being TOP in the scoreboard and ppl with 1000 games in ranked w/o even firing single shot as R1. thats thousands of games rigged per month by single person..now imagine how many of them are there and how many will happily spam upcoming ranked season up to R1. -
Whats the deal with players like this WG?
RAYvenMP replied to RAYvenMP's topic in General Discussion
so, pointing out game design issues where certain individuals ruin the game for 23 players EVERY SINGLE game they join (1100 game per week), yet are still able to reap top rewards, is whining? you obviously care about the game .... oh wait, you don't, you stopped playing. -
Whats the deal with players like this WG?
RAYvenMP replied to RAYvenMP's topic in General Discussion
maybe not reward event points and ranked stars to people who intentionally sabotage the team but they happen to be on the winning side once in a while and get the top rewards...like literally hes is top3 EU cuz he pulled of 700 wins in 3 weeks -
re-balance of legendary modules (and adding new ones)?
RAYvenMP posted a topic in General Discussion
it takes some ~100 games to unlock legendary module, and while some are great (yamato, zao, kaba, HIV...) some unique or fun (gearing, shima, DM, GK..) some are utterly useless and unusable (Wooster, minotaur, monty, z52...) It feels really underwhelming to spend that much time unlocking the module knowing it would be downgrade in absolutely every game situation... I do fully support that modules should be trade-offs, but NOONE would trade concealment and smoke duration for more smoke puffs on minotaur... second questions would be plans to add leg modules to "new" TX ships? how much development effort it can be? Salem or Stalingrad are available for ages, and daring/hargumo arent also super new...we did not even hear any plans to add them in next patches... i like to have some long term goals in games, like the Yamamoto campaign or the modules, kinda makes it feel like some kind of progression even at TX. -
Skill-related matchmaking for more balanced games
RAYvenMP replied to FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor's topic in General Discussion
to implement skill based MM - you first must decide how to measure "skill" what is it in WoWs? K/D? average dmg? WR? closest one would obviously be WR, but matchmaking ppl using WR, wouldnt it just cause to low WR players to start winning more, and high WR players loosing more? Would it actually improve the quality of gameplay? what if all the good WR players in one team will be DDs but on other team they would be BBs? given the size of the player base, we can't use some ELO/ladder system where good will play just vs good and bad just vs bad brackets now the snowball effect... many games allows you to respawn, and penatly for critical mistake is just few seconds. In wows death is permanent, one ship dies, its 12vs11, one flank collapses and its suddenly 12v9 and stomp train becomes unstaoppable. so we need to balance ppl across teams by WR, we need to balance good/bad player across classes, and we also need to consider map spawns of players and then you have pool of only couple of thousand players split across several tiers to achieve this... i dont know, but it feels like impossible to do in WoWs MM can start with simple things, like not putting 2DM+2moskva vs 2Hinden+2Zao. Or consider the fact that premium ships are often performing better than silver ship, so putting 4 musashis on one side and 2Izumo+2FDG on other may not be good thing. -
z-52 is ultimate cap contester - but needs support to actually kill enemy DD. In randoms it happens so many time that you keep the ship sonared for 30s+, and no one bothers to shoot it or they are out of position to shoot. If you get lucky to use AP its fine, but HE DPM is terrible and you are big, cumbersome juicy target for everyone once spotted - and you will be a lot in current radar meta. division up with wooster, DM or Mino and its completely different game.
-
given the amount of games played, shima or gearing are much more potato friendly than haru/ kaba is so i can assume the "30% crowd" will rather pick shima - and even tho he wont do crap whole game and loose, at least he feels better than dying in kaba in first 2 mins. you need much better situational awareness in Haru/Kaba and position yourself well enough to be a threat to enemy DDs or BBs. Haru/Kaba can punish enemy DD mistakes hard and fast...and team w/o DDs is usually lost. not seeing kabas that much lately, but those who play are usually decent players and before they go down usually manage to cripple some DD at least. haragumo on the other hand with 6.2 conceal and some potato range mods can play quite safe and enemy ships often abandon the cap/flank once the rain of fire starts...not realizing that from 15km range, haragumo wont hit crap if you are not stationary.
-
damn, i forgot its morning and you haven't yet met your 500/day spam posts quota ...my bad you are obviously right. Sheer amount of experience and stats you have with RU DDs (that ofc completely support your opinion .. or not) and weight of your arguments hammered me back to stone age. kaba is GOD, approved by Pete, topic closed.
-
kaba was over-nerfed and latest BB AP change killed her. it can still outgun any enemy DD when playing smart, but if the BBs do support, one BB salvo can ruin your DD duel. tashkent or even grozovoi will do the job better, upcoming buffs to Udaloi will make her better also.

double post, forums laggy or w.e
-
we wont get skill based MM for the same reason we cant have +1/-1 MM - queue times would suffer, and during off-peak hours for certain tiers, it can become major problem, i guess. Don't ask me why, WG knows.
-
biggest deal for sure is CE, especially for DDs. FP for BBs, AS for CVs, RPF for DDs would come close second Manual AA requires 85mm AA guns so it has very limited use in low tiers Manual secondaries are worthless below T7
-
there are several kinds of seal-clubbers - ppl using high lvl captain on good silver ship (clemson, bogatyr etc). Skills like CE, RPF and having game experience can give them advantage, but if they are solo, not a big deal - ppl using OP lower tier ships like kamikaze, gremy, gulio, obviously also with high lvl captain. These guys are brutal and can carry the battle hard. Many of them also have thousands of battles played in these ships and are either stat padders or farming daily flags. - special kind are T7 CV divisions (Kaga, Saipan) mixed with crap like Atlanta/Belfast/Flint. Mostly stat padders. I do consider it seal-clubbing, because regular CV captains at T7 are still inexperienced to face unicum CVs mixed with Saipan/Kaga. I don't think its easily fixable "problem". In many other games, high lvl folks return to low/starter locations to boost their egos or vent frustration. If WG considered it too much of a problem for new players, they would have implemented some mechanic to mitigate it (apart from removing OP ships from sale)

Blyskawica - WG says it can't buff it because of "stats".
RAYvenMP replied to Aragathor's topic in General Discussion
with your logic, we don't have to nerf/buff anything, ever. Something always has to be best and last right? buffing/nerfing aka balancing happens to eliminate the gaps between bad vs good performers. So if the players are able to win 53% of the games in Haida, but just 47% in Blyska its kinda obvious. Its up to WG to consider also other stats of the ship to come up with some conclusion...it can take years (see Izumo). -
Blyskawica - WG says it can't buff it because of "stats".
RAYvenMP replied to Aragathor's topic in General Discussion
i really tried to comprehend this somehow....but what? so you would like to compare 1000 worst players of T7 DDs or 1000 best players...you will always end up with some average of "something" and no matter from what angle you look at it, blyska is in very bad spot right now. She used to be great during the stealth fire era, but thats looog gone.
