    20 games is hard to make judgement, trust me. I had 80%+ WR and 4500PR in Z-44 after ~30 games...then, it all went to crap and balanced at ~60% and 2200PR after 70 games. And since z-44 is quite junk with no strong carry potential, it's where i would expect her to be when i bought her.

    Odin is one of those ships that struggles very badly when uptiered. 50k HP BB in T10 is bound to have a hard time, and those low caliber shotguns does not help either She can be a monster when top tier tho. Depends what the RNG will bless you with in the first few games to either love her or hate her

    i think that players (including me) are just expecting something else from ranked. Reality is that Ranked is nothing more just a random mode with some tiny extra rewards and smaller teams at a set tiers. WG's own description of Ranked gives people false expectations, final product is completely different Irrevocalbles are double-edged sword. With no fear to drop, lot of people just keep throwing it until they hit the winning streak

    thats why ranked was always crap and always will be because WG will never deny monkeys having free reign there competetive mode with 6 strangers but only progression criteria is TEAM victory? are you retarded? no worries, just spam the crap out of it and you are good for R1 even in Gold 3 leagues of "skill' but the gateway to higher league is nothing but "bang you head against the wall until it cracks" this whole Ranked change is absolutely useless, everything what was wrong with ranked is still there, WG just secured that ppl now feel they have to play 52 weeks a year, yay

    and this is one of the fundamental flaws of this systems honestly there NEEDs to be and option to drop, either voluntarily (like OP case) or forcefully (fail to rank-out etc) Gold may require 2-4x more battles to rank-out compared to lower leagues. Only way how to realize that is to "try" it out, but then you are stuck there with no chance for rewards? That does nothing but creates frustration in people who then yolo spam games (or worse)

    my experience is that the stale meta, let alone the landslades are not caused by CVs, but by overabundance of ships that directly support long range stale combat For example on T8 and below with no Thunderers ets the gameplay is the same as before, with CVs or without.

    or maybe people can stop pretending that concealment is the one an only important mechanic in the game. Half of the ships in the game dont even give a crap about concealment (most BBs and some cruisers) and other half (some cruisers and most DDs) either rely more on Line of Sight than conceal or have already extremely low air spotting values and/or smoke screens There are situations when you want to go dark and CV won't let you, but thats not because he accidentally spot you from other side of the map, he is there to get you killed. Yes it feels good to be able to escape with low HP and the [edited] CV deny you that, but maybe people should think about why they got critically low in the first place, and not how unfair the CV was finishing you off. I just learned to live with that and after playing all CV lines i don't have much troubles playing against them. After you know what danger come from each particual CV or CV line it gets much easier (regards to that Daring that smoked every single time when MvR AP rockets and bombers came his way with no red ships in sight)

    there are already balance compromises (100mm guns can sink Yamato in few minutes, bunch of 460mm AP shells into DD will just scratch the paint), but there are limits even in arcade games, especially those with historical themes. Thats why we dont have teleports or cloaking devices. Plane not being able to detect warship until 2-3km is already edgy AF, but not being able to detect her at all make no sense. I am pretty sure that if WG will decide to play around with spotting mechanics, they will not go this way.

    i can understand it being an issue in small scale battles even tho i never really understood what is so fun about hugging one rock for 15mins in Stalin and calling it "fun & strategy" but i don't play CBs so maybe it is WG wants clearly that all classes can participate, some clans often don't even have dedicated CV player and CVs shift the meta in small scale battles lot more than in randoms. I think it is more of a problem of people after years of CB semi-established meta, suddenly CVs change it and as with all changes in life people don't like it It is really up to WG to decide if they just brute force it anyway or listen to the CB players so they can have their haven of no-fly peace. majority of CV players can't deal with DDs themselves, and some CV lines are not even designed for that. This will not just widen the skill gap considerably (even a potato CV can still be spotting and be useful) but MM who will put German CV vs US CV will make the side with US one at great advantage If we would really want to touch the DD spotting topic, WG could possibly test the radar-like delayed spotting. It would be rather realistic and will give DD few seconds to decide (run, smoke w/e)

    point of this game is removing ships from battle? let's say you are in a T7 game, 2x2 DDs, you are in shira vs Mahan. He dies (random torp, shitty conceal whatever). Who will stop you? all the ship on that flank are your food now. All the ship on that flank would BEG for a CV to help them so they still could have a chance to fight or win. playing a DD is not just about being ninja and torping crap, there is suppose to be risk vs reward part, where is the risk in such case? Death of one ship would mean instant landslide, while the CV in this case can turn it still into good battle. Pretty much what @DFens_666 said few posts above and challenging I know that ShimaJoe loves the premise of being undetected whole game and spamming torps from outside radar range (if there are even radars there), but i hardly find that challenging

    this will never happen. Yea, this is arcade game with unlimited ammo and ships with 1 HP being as operational as with 100%, but a plane flying 1km over Yamato won't be able to see her? That sci-fi level of [edited] DDs may have already forgot, but the biggest change moving from RTS CV era was that planes can't detect torps anymore.

    how exactly is that "broken" thing honestly? Let alone the fact that majority of the CV players are not capable of killing DD. Hell, i don't even remember a CV killing me in DD in first 10mins of the game in past year. Some attacked me, some hunt me whole game and eventually got me, but by the that time battle was already decided anyway. The only annoying thing i can remember is that red potato CV got a strike on me in DD with Midway HE bombs and got 5 hits from the side, that i knew happens once in 1000 drops.... Yes, the DDs should not go the usual "10 line 300IQ ninja flank" in a CV games if the CV is paying attention. DDs are the most influential class in the game (caps) and should learn how to play when spotted and always think of escape routes At some point WG will maybe change something (AP rockets were not suppose to nerf CA play, but off-load heat from DDs), but realistically i would not hope for anything drastic maybe WG could re-introduce odd tier CVs and old +1/-1 MM. That will allow them to balance AA better, because right now T8 CV facing T6 AA is the same joke as facing T10 AA.

    WG is between 2 millstones. Good and veteran players who hate dumbing down the game (CV rework, HE BBs ...) but they also hate potato players Bad or new players are stuck in the learning phase for thousands of games, because game is too complex. so what to do? who to cater to? If it is near-impossible to do the right game decision to please everyone, well, you try to please the majority no? purple snowflakes often forget how long they took to get good. Many of them seal-club or play in divisions to achieve that. Just go ahead and check the stats of many in this thread and see how they do in solo queue or even ranked, you will be surprised Maybe if we had some patience and respect for new players, they would not need artificial help from WG

    FDR is not even stronger than Midway honestly, delays after strikes and slow planes drag her dmg output considerably. Tanky planes and drop-turning is cool (and annoying to deal with) but that's about it. I don't have her yet, so maybe there is something else i will find out, but so far it's more of an meme ship to make ppl's AA to feel even more worthless. I am pretty sure that plenty of ppl found out that she's ain't that OP after they got her with x-mass coupons reset People who do good in her, can do better in Midway Enterprise is OP, but unlikely she will get changed. She is too rare to make WG to brake no-premium-nerfs rule and face the consequences

    well, common dislikes may still not mean that something is broken. It takes thousands of games for most players to develop some working tactics for each class. CV often makes that tactics void and opens up another layer of strategy. Let's say from "kill them faster" to "survive longer". It takes another set of skills or experience to be able to adjust on the spot. In a CV game (i am mostly DD player) i know where the enemy is, not just predict it, but at the cost that enemy "might" also know where i am. Now what matters is which team will make more of such information. i don't feel like it takes away skill from the games, it's just replaced with another I understand that people are upset that someone is ruining their master-plan "this island is perfect, i will hug it whole game". It is nothing more than playing by the template that works, refusing to adjust because you know that template would be perfect in no-CV scenario. And all of the above implies that CV is decent, most are not and completely irrelevant to my gameplay They said they listen. People say they don't act like they listen. How can we know they listen when they don't act?

    the last thing they should do is to listen to the players. It's "buff my class, nerf the others" covered in all the kinds of coatings. Everyone feel special and entitled to provide "fix of issue XY". Every basement Joe knows best how to program, balance etc

    secondaries nerfed? come on, majority of the KM BBs either: a) never get even remotely close to secondary range b) if they do, usually as last-man-standing, they forget to CRTL-click so nothing happens the rework will at least help them with b) , so i would call it a buff

    WG care. He is loyal, makes queues faster, tons on premium ships. More valuable customer than OP. Anyway, if 70% WR guys can't learn how to deal with CVs, then something is terribly wrong with them. It must be some next level OCD like "damn, i did 250k dmg, but if it wasn't for CV i would do 280k, i HATE CVs", i can't understand it otherwise.
