take Emergency repair instead of PM for 1pt, that at least does something IFHE is useless on KM BBs AR is better than everything offensively, simply because it is always active rest is OK problem of this build is that even with FP, you will have double-fires often and w/o BoS and just with 4 heals you will probably never last until late-game (that's when most of the decisive brawls usually take place). In current meta going into brawl while most of the enemy ships is still alive is just suicide -

Range and manSec is given and AR is still great even at 3pts (inc AA buffs). Now they have to choose 2 out of CQC, Extra heal, FP and BOS. Pretty sure they take CQC and 1 of the survival skill of the 3. That's assuming they have 21pts cap and understand what are they doing -

spreadsheets say that Flint is best performing cruiser in T7 (better than Belfast, by the way) It will take a long time for it to drop to bottom half, and considering how no one play it even now, i can imagine literally no one will after the change, it will take years to drop in stats. and even if it would drop to absolute trash end , there is no guarantee WG will do something (looking at you Blyska) such is the power of spreadsheets -

nope. I will upgrade ~10 caps i use the most (unique captains first) and rest slowly. If i find out that certain build absolutelly require 21 pts, i will prioritize those, but nothing else Hell sure i wont spend 10k dubs for like ~1.2m elite ECXP, not a chance -

it is not one step forward, two step back. Its 99 steps into right direction and 1 step into wrong one But, I think that majority of the playerbase enjoys being carried in Ranked and that only progressionn limit is time. I am quite sure there is more Gold players with sub 40% WR than ones with 50%+. How is that possible that the most elite league of all is popuplated by below average players? You think that WG did not see that happening during the "redesign"? It is working as intended It is like with the CV complains. Forums flooded with outrage and broken/OP but only WG knows the truth. maybe 90% of the players love ranked, dont want it harder, they want to spam the crap out of it. It takes away lot of stress if you dont care about anything. there were threads that guys were unhappy that their "gold star" you get after R1 is reset each week, so after he played 270 games per week he feels that his "achievement" is taken away from him. You think 45% guy who spammed 270 games to get 19 stars was ashamed? hell no, he was PROUD of it. He asked for everyone to see results of his hard work. I have hope for ppl with 500 games who fail, but when you have 20k games and still pure red everywhere, there is no hope -
so you decided to play Akizuki as cruiser-like HE spammer because there is a chance you will go against Cossack? what you quoted was my Akizuki post, not Feng. Feng won't outgun Cossack, but Akizuki will, and further he runs/kite the better for Akizuki

thing is that change like this would improve situation in 99% cases and maybe screw up some DD in 1 game out of 100 You never please everyone and i will GLADLY sacrifice that one game where i did everything good, yet somehow still ended last (tbh, i am last once per 1000 games, and hell sure it was not because i did everything right) just to screw up the AFKs and yolos. -

a lot of ppl are talking about these scenarios where the "DD did the job right but ended last" but how many times that actually happens? How many times DD does the job right but not get single cap or at least some salvos at enemy DDs etc? I had plenty of games where 1 cap and 20k dmg done was #1. Why am i suppose to believe that DD that did not get single cap, never fired the guns and landed zero torps REALLY did a good job? You really think he worked for his spotting? Those GKs and Stalins are seen from the moon anyway, and the DD he spotted pretty much just spotted him, accidentally, all he wanted was to get close to BBs... -
Feng will certainly be worse Aki. Guns not good enough for knife fights and torps with not enough range to reach BBs. she might perform worse in T10, but more flexible in T6 maybe (defAA for smoke DD will be fun for T6 CVs) too bad she did not get 5.8 or 5.9 conceal, as thats kinda tied with pan-asian line gimmick

6.1km (irrc) is very solid concealment, paired with RPF, 100-300m difference wont save the other DD from getting spotted also, especially when you know what direction are they comming from. IJN torp line DD could be the only one challenging , but luckily , most of them love to go solo/yolo at flanks for easy prey. Yes, you are not fast, but you dont have to chase ships you can kill in 15 seconds, right? And they gonna spend 10s out of those 15 just in to attempt to turn you are free to play your Akizuki as you want, just remember that each Aki played as cruiser is one extra DD for the enemy. if you opt to play IJN daka line as cruiser, you will often find yourself in a position that you can't deal with DDs, you can't reach the BBs and cruisers will either spam HE from safe position/range or they will have radar, hence you won't be able to influence the game at all.

Akizuki is DD hunter, IFHE build means no RPF and choices between SE, BFT and DE becomes semi-must. With 12.5km range and most BBs will have 38mm+ decks (except UK and FR, but those don't like to play close enough) since the change to base pen, i found IFHE build on Aki suboptimal and even on Kita, because you have to trade it for something better. Haragumo is viable, but not that great either as your targets are limited, and running crazy stuff like AFT or Range mode make even more sacrifices

there are no DDs in the game right now who should take IFHE, not even the IJN 100mm ones. Closest one would be haragumo, where the sheer firepower could under certain conditions outweight the fire chance. Those conditions are farming French or UK BBs, but neither of them like to play close enough to make it efficient farm. IFHE right now is viable only on 150-155mm CLs from T6 up (except KM ofc) and maybe on RU 180mm (those who dont have improved AP angles) He spamming CLs are having hard time now, since whatever you target, is already burning cuz theres 2-3 Thunderers each side xD

i rarely even see Fletchers, let alone ones with defAA and decent on top of it. most will just open up at 5.8km and face tank the rockets in strait line. In my games i see just IJN DDs (those ppl never change) and EU ones (effortless AA versus most CV players). In ranked some UK ones on top of that. Russian, German and PA are dead weight and French are meme usually dead in yolo before i even manage to fly there xD -

let's put it this way. When you don't see source of flak you can't measure when you are outside of it or inside medium AA already. If you commit to drop inside of defAA flak (limited manuvering phase) you risk whole squad getting wiped. You can either missjudge distance when trying to torp the smoke (start too soon outside 3.5km) or when dropping nearby ship not many smoke DDs have access to defAA tho and thanks to anti-CV brigade of many famous CCs who claim that defAA is 100% worthless, they don't even mount it when they can for little trade-ff as speed boost. In every single CV game with Fletcher i easily take 20-30 plane kills, what is worth 1.5 full HP ship kills in EXP. Every CV underestimate DD AA if it is not EU DD T9/T10, they spam fighters over me and crap. -

DefAA is not great, but still better than speed boost. I would not trade it for hydro or so. also DefAA when smoked (CV can't see the source) is harder to dodge as the flak pattern is harder to predict. I think one flank takes like 5-7k dmg on Fletcher/Gearing. It's hurts a lot. And many CV players out there like to get hurt apparently. i pulled Midway today to finish missions and ended up with 25% WR. I felt useless in every game. In 4 games i saw 3 team kills, 3 times epicenter. When you are #1 in T10 CV in 6 minute game, it's time to call it a day. -

people play shimas and thunderes because it is effective (and they are cowards :) People play CVs because it gives them sense of power and they don't have to learn ALL the mechanics of other classes to do well) Truth is that potato shima will probably still achieve more in battle than potato CV, but people will still hate the CV more. when shima drop face-tanking Yamato reversing from Kremlin for 50k, he won't be as upset as if CV drops him for 5k. You think he could avoid 15 torps reversing? No, but he feels like he could. But that 10k CV drop he could not, and that drives him crazy. I see no difference and personally take that 10k instead, because logic. People think that 1% chance is better than 0% chance. Yes, in that one special game, just at the right time you move forward and shima will miss. Thats the 1%. You think you outplayed the shima? no, you got lucky. The real problem of that Yamato is, that when CV is gonna TB drop him, he will turn broadside to that Kremlin after 10mins of face-tanking him. He choose to die instead of taking 10k drop from CV. Why? Because he did not know it would be 10k. This is the gap, this is the mistake he will do over and over and keep complaining about instead of checking that Midway torps hit for [edited]4k each and he has 55% torp belt. He was not outplayed by CV, he FAILED. -

- based on my experience, AFT Minos were more rare than CVs. And took 0 skill to just avoid entirely whole battle - boost feathering is not the case anymore (heavily nerfed few patches ago or so) - Dev Strike is the fastest way to kill a ship. And even if it took me 3 minutes to setup, it will alwways be superior to chippng the same ship for 10k per drop every 30s - I don't see people complaining CVs not being effective, but NOT FUN. Not now, not before. - You might not maybe remember the "DD spotting" parts that well from RTS times. Maybe becuase you rarely were actually searching for DDs late game. They were dead, you killed in the beginning of the game xD - Yea so Fletcher could kill locked fighter planes with DefAA? wow. Mine fletcher can kill them even now. And without defAA and 10times faster lol -

it takes lot of time and effort to take out Salem in Enterprise. I would say 5-7 very RNG favored drops, mostly one drop per squad as Salem's AA is decent vs T8 carrier. In that time you probably had time to heal twice with super heal, making it nearly double the amount of drops needed. Thats like 8-10~mins trying to take you out and 8-10 mins for you to reconsider if that island u were protecting is worth your life. But yea, 17 planes is nothing for Big E. - well, you had 6-8 squads to do the searching, now you have 1. And those "nasty ambushes" could be setup effectively by maybe 3 ships (sry Zao did not count as effective here). Required to specc AFT on 152mm gun CLs and with a 10% chance to actually face CV? useless points for many ppl. And even an average players could avoid them, let alone loosing all squads to it.. PS : for example RTS Haku TBs has speed of 164knts, reworked ones have 149knts (inc cap skills). Maybe your speed boost (190knts) is infinite, mine is not. You could strike in full force in RTS every 2 mins lets say, you can strike every 60s in reworked CVs (lets assume same distance target). I drop drop with 3 TBs and 3 DBs per 2 mins (6 strikes) vs optimistically 2 drop with one squad every minute now. I am missig the "i can attack much more often now" part? Let alone the fact that RTS drop every 2 mins could delete [edited]T10 BB from 70% HP (raw dmg) or even 100% HP is you baited the DCP before. Now you tickle him for 15k, and by the time you come back he can heal it up. I am not saying that CV rework does not have issues, but preteding that RTS CVs were more "fun" to play against? that's disgusting hypocrisy man -

1. CVs can do many nasty things, but they won't make you loose more. That's a team effort . Loosing 6 out of 9 games in favorite ship will increase blood preasure, but it can happen with CVs or not. 2. 1.5 plane average while being forcused every game seems very low. Mounted defAA? Usually every AA sector pop on fresh squad is 1 kill regardless of AA power, Fletcher and Gearing can kill much more planes. 3.Can't beat them, join them. You got that part right :D Shhh. We dont talk facts about RTS CVs here. The only thing that ppl apparently remember from RTS era is that Wooster AA was strong. Wooster is also called now "ships" to make it simple. -
problem is that MM is non-balanced around ships like this. When you take Petro/Stalin that plays like BB with radar but it take cruiser slot in MM, it is actually a good trade When your DD plays like CL but takes DD slot in MM, you are at huge disadvantage

biggest problem in the game right now is that new players can't catch up with veterans. That creates battles where handful of ppl does OK, but 80% of the team is clueless. Biggest surprise is that WG instead of mitigating this problem, keeps doing the oposite. They keep nerfing CVs to not do less damange, but to either do big dmg or no damage (reticle changes to various squads) They keep releasing ship lines that make impossible to less experienced players to fullfil thier roles. 2.9m EXP for 21 pt captain? when the [edited]will new player reach that? Whats the point of T10 BB going at 23knts? whats the point of T10 DD that can't contest objectives? we have so many DD cruiser-like gunboats in the game right now, that when you end up in a game with 3+3 DDs and your team has one RU, one FR and one of these new abominations, you are essentially fucked that game. None of them can play the objectives (or they try and die). Kaba line was meme line, and it was unique and fun, but if all your DDs are Kaba-like, its pretty much game over (on a same skill-level). WG needs to look at the current META, define what is wrong and mitigate it not further support the issues

You are doing it right. SI and RPF is the way to go (with gun reload mod on Smaland). If you are not super unicum, RPF will outclass BFT easily, as your guns will be always ready and pointed to right direction vs having 0.2s extra reload but waiting for turrets to turn few seconds. And extra heal, radar and special speed charge is great. This build honestly work for nearly all DDs, you just shift SI to TAE on pure torpboats or to BFT to pure gunboats and thats it. RPF is what is gonna win you many games, blind torps drops into RPF, sneaky DDs trying to flank, DDs trying to hide in big (US) smoke, playing hide&seek around islands and much more. That skill is crazy good and i have it on all DDs with few exceptions (usually long range gunboats)

the same minds who put SE on every BB they have? I would actually bet that there is more SE KM BBs than SE IJN DDs playing the game. they are masters of Yolo and this new skil... man, it will allow them to die 30% faster, records will be broken
