Do too many games end in Draws ?

I have 4 draws in 102 boring battles. But usually I'm the one capping and trying to win if I ain't too busy missing torpedo shots. Also, I never chase the carriers for 10 minutes instead of cap.

Can you please make Domination mode optional?

RIP US DDs, I won't miss you.

    [suggestion] Torpedoes speed selection

I know most the US DD players quit, but you are aware that Gearing exist, right? Evading 63 kn torps is really easy now, slower ones won't hit anybody.

    Better nerf destroyer

If there is a DD or two capping and supported by BBs and CAs while you are the only one defending, you've already lost. Try to farm some damage or something.

Cap zones are enormous, you can sail into the cap, stay at 3-4km away from the smoke cloud and wait for it to dissipate, you'll save the day and get 1 point for sinking the DD. I'll repeat it, if a friendly ship is inside the cap zon, the "cap bar" stops. Before this version, you'll need to start evasive maneuvers before spotting the torpedoes, if you waited for the alarms, you'll get hit by 3-5 of them. Game was way more tactical and screening with DDs a thing (I used to screen/smoke my fleet while reloading torps). I agree that torpedoes are hard to balance, again in the that version, Clemson and Nicholas (tiers 4 and 5) had 4x3 13km torpedoes in a 40 sec reload, those were OP as [edited]and a lot of testers, both Alpha and Weekend, bitched a lot abut them, now DDs got a huge nerf and are useless at high tiers. Torpedoes are hard to balance.
  7. Just wait for the Russian tree.
  8. They ain't even good at that, as a IJN DD you spot them first and only engage if you want.

I wasn't talking about CVs. Also, playing DDs are even more "unfun" than playing against DDs right now. Don't sail into the smoke, isn't rocked science. If they are capping, move into the cap (the cap stops) and never go near the smoke. Dude, torpedoes ain't even good right now, with the spread and the huge acquisition range, I'm need a lucky spread to hit anyone who isn't AFK with one torpedo after the 8km range. I agree that DDs are good for "sealcubbing", but thats because ATM they are "one trick pony" that only work against terrible players.

    AAA on American DD's

There is another thread about it. Anyways, if your main armament is listed under the AA tab, it adds its DPS to the AA damage automatically, even if you are using them to shot. A bit unrealistic but do the trick.

    Question about playing destroyers

Smoke spears around you in a circle, it moves with you for some seconds (while the skill is active, in green), you need some seconds to fade, 2 or 3. False, I've used smoke to escape dozens of times at full speed with Zekamashi. Good/average players never sail near islands unless they have vision. See above. By average, US torpedoes aren't faster than IJN ones. Also notice that acquisition range is around 2.7 "klicks", so due to spread, in longer distances than 7km torpedoes are really easy to dodge right now, you need a lucky spread of 9 torpedoes to get 1 hit against a competent BB.
  12. You forgot about all the IJN DDs after tier 6 carried type 93 torpedoes. As always, WG balances about "historical data" when they want, and others times because "is necessary for the game balance". Nothing new.
  13. Shell speed in WoWS is around x4 (arcade game etc etc), hitting someone doing evasive maneuvers with ~22 seconds of travel tame could be impossible, except by pure luck, so your point still stands.

New mini patch, new invisible ice bergs

There were 2 or 3 more, I'll do a more exhaustive research, but we haven't practice mode.
  15. DDs are made of citadel now. If you carefully read all the torpedo/smoke threads, new BB players always recommend to other new BB players AP Vs DDs, "since is always 1 hit, not like HE who needs 2 or 3". DDs don't take 3 digit damage from AP anymore.

Tier 4-6 are therrible for both US and IJN, they do well because most BB players refuse to learn how to play. Before this version, Clemson and Nicholas had 4x3 13km torpedoes in a 40 sec reload, and they were OP as [edited], now the low tier IJN DDs may be a bit OP, they overperform because new players don't know how to avoid torpedoes though.

And then it goes worst every tier until 10, get used to it.

    Ramming - A legitimate tactic?

I still remember one game when a CV out of planes rammed a full HP BB, glorious. A shame that was before replays (and subject to NDA). Ramming is legit unless you do it "for fun xD".

    Manuel Bombing

Is fun because right now you can pretty much do nothing when you're in a CV and try to torpedo a semi experienced BB player. I'm not gonna explain why because there are a dozen of threads about this.

You can notice that only the new testers consider both DDs and CVs OP while all the Alpha testers think they are UP, there is a reason. Also notice the number of DDs in the queue for tiers 7-10, there is a reason for that too.

  22. There is always that guy with the little details. Actually, an US DD still need 500m to get in the max range of her torpedoes.

Reduce Ship Repair/Service cost in CBT

Testing the game economy is a big part of the beta. Capital ships maintenance and repairs are expensive to limit its numbers, play CAs and DDs. It will help your economy and improve your feedback.
  24. They are a bit less frustrating than tier 2-7 US DDs though.
