    I am sick and tired of WG, "collecting data" for ages. I am sick and tired of not being able to defend my CV against rouge DDs. I am sick and tired of stealth AA. I am sick and tired of AA shooting through solid matter.. I am sick and tired of losing credits, no matter how well I do. I am [edited] sick and tired of spending thousands of real money, only to get kicked into the unmentionables. Make the [edited] changes NOW, WG . . and they better be good. I am sick and tired of putting food on WGs table, only to be rewarded with a kick in the nuts. We are talking about the real world here, WG. Want something to eat tomorrow ? Make the changes NOW ! Don't think about it, just [edited] DO IT. . . .unless you want to drive a Lada, tomorrow.     Is this game: Pay to Win ?

    Don't you feel tempted, at some time, to have a good look at your wallet and wonder, if it might just be the time to get the latest, very much hyped item ? I asked myself this question since WoT came out of closed Beta. I bought a lot of premium tanks since then. I basically bought everything, that looked like it gave me an advantage, BUT . . as soon as I bought something that seemed OP, it got nerfed. I converted millions of XP to free XP, to get to tier X. I thought, that not being up-tiered all the time might help me win. Did it work ? Not very much, I'm afraid. Then I thought it's time to give WoWs a try. OP premium ship ? You name it, I got it. Tier X ? Every single one. Converted millions of XP as well. For cash - of course. My win rate ? Don't bother. But, what am I trying to tell you, you might ask ? It's like this: If you are good, you don't need any premium, whatsoever. If you are not that good, no amount of money can fix it. I spent around 15000 $ on WG games and wouldn't be off any worse if I had spent ZERO. So, is this game pay to win ? No, absolutely not. If anyone would ask me for advice on how to spend money on WG games, I'd simply answer: For the love of god . . . DON'T !

    One volume slider works for both, the other does noting. It's either always music or none. I've mentioned this 3 times since PT. This shows how much attention WG is paying.

    Well, it also works in water since a ship has to turn it'd screws in the opposite direction to rapidly slow down. We are talking about WW 2 aircraft. The only means for them to slow down - besides reducing power - are aerodynamic. Flaps, slats etc. None of them requires any sort of fuel. I know, this is an arcade game. I know about "balance" but some things just don't make sense. If they absolutely have to shoehorn some kind of nerf into every aircraft mechanic, they could give aircraft some (wildly exaggerated of course) time for deploying / retracting airbrakes.

    They might have forgotten DDs, since they are so hard to spot after 8.03. WG should raise their air detectability to around 5 km, to remember them.

    There' are quite a few possibilities to make an aircraft turn tighter. Some of the later WW II fighters also sported automatically extending slats but that's not my point. What I have an issue with is using "boost" both ways. Slowing down should not require any depleting source at all. It's like having to use the NoS bottle in your car, to brake. Makes absolutely no sense.

    In WW II, most fighter planes had an emergency throttle setting. which injected a water/methanol mixture. Using "boost" to slow down is a bit far fetched. I'd prefer to have a set of different speeds, like any other vessel.

    I found an article, published by the RAF, about the effectiveness of AA. It's very detailed but in essence it says this: Contact and time fused heavy AA (HAA) was not very effective since the fighter and bombers came over at all kinds of different altitudes. Tracers helped but not much. It was estimated that as few as one in 1,000 bullets fired from rapid fire close-in light AA (LAA) hit the enemy aircraft. In this game, the hit probability is 85 -90 % , some ships even have 100% Since all aircraft of a squadron fly over a target - not only the attacking ones - every plane takes damage. I had a look at my Minotaurs AA stats and after doing the math, it looks like this: Aircraft could take roughly 32400 dmg per second, if they are unlucky. With a bit of skill, some Flak bursts can be avoided but there's no dodging the bullets. Any planes, daring to come closer than 7km, will take 1800 dps. Flying at max speed, with engaged booster, the Hakuryus Torpedo bombers take 23 sec to get in and out of AA range. A fully, maxed out IJN Torpedo Bomber Squadron - with all possible HP skills and modules - has 27180 HP,. You do the math . .

    My two cents about the new CVs

    I didn't touch CVs this week, it was just too much to bear. Then I thought, maybe it's not the ships . . maybe it's my fault. I usually play late - after work and after a few drinks. Today, I rose early, had a good breakfast and fired up my client. 4 CV games later, I couldn't really see a difference. Maybe it's because CV gameplay is as realistic as PacMan. At some point, WG might decide to "balance" cruisers by installing rails between islands with Donkey Kong on top, throwing down exploding barrels. Better not laugh too loud at other peoples misery, you could be the next victim.

    I couldn't help but notice the absence of AI controlled CVs, since the rework. I wonder why that is . . . It should be possible to program a bot to not accidentally fly into AA range (bots always know where you are) and pre-calculate it's losses, before an attack. Would it be too powerful, or mostly find itself in a situation, where it can't do anything ?
