Companies changed from subscription/DLC model to free-to-play/premium/whale milking models. I also preferred the first one, but I'm not sure if it makes them the same profit. Also player retention is harder with a subscription based model.

Like you'd get something really worthy out of a super container. I had one ship during 2 years. I mean it's nice if you can't spend your oil, but it's not a goal you would grind for.

I've seen some reviews about the new German T6 CV, and it's not something I'm excited to play with. Anyway, playing a CV is less and less appealing for non unicum players.

I think it's a good thing that WG designed this lackluster event. We need some time to relax after the Odin grind and enjoy the Summer.

Most boring ship I have. Somewhat competitive if you don't have Stalingrad.

That's a concept ship for testing SAP and smoke on a BB. Not an actual upcoming ship. Maybe as the basis of the new Italian BBs.

I was digging into the stats to see who is the best player. I had to dismiss a lot of people using the following criteria: -less than 1000 games -RTS or rework CV dominant (edit: honorable mention to Elraz) -Tier1 or low tier dominant -Super OP premium dominant (edit: i.e. Gremi and Kami) -I counted only the solo WR The Winner is:

The plan would be to do this each year. Have proper criteria and data (for the last year) and ask WG to give an appropriate prize to the winner. Like the winner could choose any ship, even Christmas crate ships, of their choice.

The strategy for RTS CVs was doing spotting and fighter duel in the first part of the game while taking out lonely low AA ships (like guys driving their brand new Tirpitz). As ships spread out more, you could go after weakened targets, and at the end of the game, when AA guns were lost to HE, you could take 3-4 ships out. The number of your planes was your most important resource and you never got bored as there was always something to do. But the skill gap was high, and if you were on the losing end, you lost all your planes at the half of the game and were doing virtually nothing during the rest of the game. This turned a lot of beginners away from CVs. Now, after the rework, time is the most important resource, you have to attack somebody, otherwise you don't do enough damage over the game. You have no time to search for the optimal target, or to play around fighters or defensive AA. Also, if you drop a fighter over someone, you need a target nearby, otherwise you lose time. So make the red CV lose time.

RTS CVs had enormous alpha strike, were able to spot at multiple places at the same time, etc. They were much more OP than the CVs we have now, even with high AA ships. And the biggest impact was the silly panic effect of def AA, that could be played around by pro players. So comparing only one aspect with today's CVs makes not much sense. By the way, AP bomb nerf is coming tomorrow, along with stronger rockets against broadsiding cruisers, so you have to be moving and angling.

Newest acquisition: PS: I wanted to post my Öland stats as I had some great games in it, but finally the sum of it was quite lackluster.

Yes, we can make additional categories like for the Oscar: best digital effects best rework CV player, best supporting actor best DD player, etc...

This is true for everything, still it's fun to look for one. You have Oscars, Nobels, etc...

CV WR would count 25%, so if they suck in other classes, they would have a lower overall WR. Also the player in my original post has 73.38% CV WR, and he excels in all classes.

Or we could calculate the solo WR for each of the four classes and the take the average of the four numbers. Overall_WR = (CV_WR + DD_WR + BB_WR + CA_WR) / 4

Yes, but I'd need to download and filter the data somehow. I spent about 15 minutes on this, I'm lazy.

I added a post about the super OP premiums: Gremi and Kami (see above). CV players were not excluded, CV only players were excluded, who had their games predominantly in CVs. I think your skills in CV are not transferable to other classes.

Expecting a T8 ship to have carry potential in T10 is kind of strange.
