Lepanto has worse dispersion and worse reload than Pommern, and no secondary suite or torps. You have the smoke which is not really a game changer. And Pommern is far from being OP, except in brawls.

People who are in the position to buy Groningen as a captain trainer probably have multiple 21 pointers, so they can train captains for any nation.

Lepanto, having 16.5km stock range and doing 5k AP damage on a full broadside Minnesota, with 1.6 sigma and over 30 sec reload. Marco Polo is a monster compared to this turd.

I'm close to finish all grindable stages of the event. I like that the ZF-6 was a historical ship, and have enough doubloons in reserve. Still, I'm quite likely not going to spend doubloons on her. Stats-wise she is mediocre. I don't need a mediocre T9 DD. I play DDs occasionally in random, and more often in ranked, but I enjoy BBs and some few other ships the most. I like the Marceau, the Smaland, the Shimakaze, the Yugumo, the Cossack, the Jutland, the French DD line. I see ZF-6 as a typical dockyard product. Nerfed into mediocrity to not compete with other ships offering the same value cheaper. A heal, or hydro, or proper smoke, or torp range would change the deal. Pro players can make her work, but they could make a piece of wood work.

Actually you pick Musashi as a BB, not because you need to dominate other BBs, but because you want to be able to carry the game with 3DDs per side. Picking any other ship than a DD, or a radar cruiser drastically lessens your influence on the outcome. You need an OP BB if you want to stay competitive. Also, there are some more competitive tech tree ships, like the Izumo, or the Soyuz, but you cannot move a 19-21 pointer on them for free, and their stats are also brought down by noobs grinding them the first time.

I’ve the Nelson but I rarerly play her. Not because it’s a bad ship, but because I find her boring and not fun to play. The handling is sluggish and she eats citadels quite easily. I find the Lenin much more fun to play. Considering money making, you can make more money with the Pommern, which is a freely obtainable coal ship. For free XP, I’m having much more fun with the Agir and she probably makes more credits. If you’re accumulating freeXP quite fast, then pick up the Nelson before she’s gone. If you can afford one freeXP ship per year, than rather spare for the Agir. Also, you can pick up the Duke of York for coal, which I prefer to play over the Nelson when I fancy playing a T7 BB, and she has the same credit multiplier.

The stats seem to be optimized for random matches, where it makes sense to not count players having only a few matches with a given ship. I think the minimum number of battles needed automatically scales with the total number of battles played by all players.

My biggest issue with Kagero/Yugumo players that they are usually not regrind players but some DD noobs who rush the cap to die there or smoke up before a radar or hydro ship, or charge a smoked up hydro DD. A TRB Yugumo/Kagero at least knows what they are doing.

It’s very rare to see CVs in ranked silver. Gold is like full of them.

I went into T6 randoms with my Arizona to hunt down some of the fearsome Ise-s. I sighted only one mediocre player on my team, that's all. Nothing to see here ladies and gents.

So the winning bids for the coal on both NA and EU were just above 80M. It’s statistically about 0% likely, given the vastly different server population. If the prize pool was shared among the servers, then the number of winners is different on each servers, given the winning bid was the same. So mathematically, the auction was rigged.

I’m in the same situation. I’m waiting for some new releases to see what we get for free XP. If nothing of my interest then I go for the research bureau.

FreeXP is hard to gather compared to what is currently being offered for freeXP. I have the Nelson, Alaska, Agir, and Smaland, but I’m reluctant to spend on Azuma, Friesland or Hayate. These are coal quality ships and coal is much easier to accumulte than FreeXP. I also used like 1000,000 FreeXP for my Ohio grind.
