Same here, first steel ship was the Bourg. Absolutely no regrets, one of my best buys, much more fun than Ohio.

As per the reviews and gameplays I’ve seen, the guns are below average at range. The ship has excellent armour, best secondaries, good torpedoes, exhaust smoke and excellent speed, nice turning and excellent concealment. Basically a brawling cruiser. I think it will have a high skill ceiling, and we will see a lot of yoloing potatoes given the avaibility for coal/doubloons. Also I wonder if she has any ASW, as being a brawling ship and having no hydro or ASW will make the gameplay ‘interesting’ against submarines. I wonder Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?

Honorable defeat with Marco Polo:

I have both. The Bourg does not feel like a JB. JB playstyle is akin to Richelieu, you often end up reversing, Bourgogne is more close to Alsace. Image in Alsace that works. Bourg has a fast versatile mobile playstyle. You can use HE/AP, go close range or remain at distance, use the reload booster. One of the most fun and strong ships in the game.

I don't compare 25 games with a million. I'm giving a hint about how a new ship starts in the stats. A new ship starting at the top of the stats is promising. Hizen never did start at the top of the stats. And people were saying Hizen was an ok ship. Now you have a seemingly strong start and talk about a bad ship.

Statistical relevance for what? No player has 72% WR, so 72% WR over 25 games with a new ship is quite promising.

I played two games with the Kijkduin. She seems to be likeable. I can hit BBs with the airstrike, but the 2K damage is not a game changer, the occasional fires help more. The gun performance vs DDs is disappointing.

They allow 1 game only specifically to avoid players trying out ships and regretting their decision. This is their business model based on uninformed decisions.

I think that they can make more money on whales than on normal spenders. Giving value to a veteran whale is much more difficult than to a newly recruited one. Also they probably hired a new finance guy who came up with this new ideas to squeeze more money out of the game. He will be working for another company in two years, boosting his CV by how much he raised the (short term) income. He does not care if the game gets shuts down in the long run.

They make money on resource ships. FreeXP and RB ships can be bought by XP to FreeXP conversion, steel and coal can be whaled in dockyard grinds. Tech tree ships can be monetized by loot box early access and making them frustrating to grind enticing players to skip them by converting XP tp FreeXP. Also, this is primarily not a game but a money making engine having the form of a f2p game. Every decision is influenced by profitability, and in case of WG it's rather short term. They seem to go after new players that can be converted into whales. Retaining old regular customers is not a priority.

There are no youtube reviews as of yet, so she's not out of the NDA, so she's not going to be released today.

I'm out of the grind, and don't plan to go back. I'll pick up the Johan de Witt eventually to play with the new gimmick.

I had only one co-op match as of yet, but she already felt strong and fun. I specced her for guns, after reading about her gun performance, but OMG, those torps, short range, but plenty. Nice yolo ship for T5.

Credit-wise the Georgia might be better than the new version of the Missouri.

Guys at WG are bent on making money on credits. First they introduce the auction to drain credit stockpiles, now they nerf the Missouri. Otherwise, WG would simply introduce Missouri special edition, and keep the original one intact.

I reduced my playtime recently, this is how WG tries to get me back: A daily resource container turned into a super one
