The rocket aiming change had a quite big impact. DDs can roam more freely and as you said, we have lot less CV players. It won't stop CV haters, they would hate CVs anyway. If there were no CVs, then there would be DD haters. A lot of vocal players take into account only their own perspective. Pro players hate overpens, but it helps noob cruisers not getting one shot. Also, 30% of the playerbase is sub 45% WR, they would get frustrated by pro mechanics, and WG needs their money, too. I'm certain that giving balancing or game development decisions to some vocal 'experts' would result in a much bigger and quicker disaster than what WG makes. Further, WG has to put revenue numbers for every developer effort spent. Completely re-working the CVs cost a lot of money with a vague promise of somewhat increased player retention, in the long run. Not something to put money on.
