why is winrate system a real shame for WG?

If it's not in the game, WG is still better of by closing the thread, as people would start to believe that's the game is unjust and would stop playing. So closing such threads in. ot an indication that it was imple, entad but an indication that it would impact WG's revenue.

Don't bring up the patent, as the thread will be closed for two reasons: It's about matchmaking that has a specialized topic. It was only a concept long time ago and not used in WOWS.

Yes, there are things that you already check, like excluding low tiers and division play. I just highlighted that there are other factors in WR that are usually not taken into account, and WR is not directly proportional to skill, just correlated. The number of potatoes relatively to the number of unicums is not evenly distributed during the day, and on different days of the week. I think you accept that there are more potatoes out during the weekend, known as weekend only players. There is a similar uneven distribution during the day. Also I'm not sure that more potatoes mean higher WR, as it can mean lower WR, because the number of blowouts increase with the proportion of the potato players. I did not made exact measurements, but have the impression that you can farm more broadsides Saturday morning than on Thursday evening, for example. What is a better measure than the WR? The Elo: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system Basically it takes into account the skill difference of the players involved in the match. If you beat a higher skilled player/team, you get more Elo, than if you beat lower skilled players.

why is winrate system a real shame for WG?

It would average out over thousands of games, if you would choose your time of playing and ships randomly. If you tend to play after work a few hours, then you won't have the same number of samples for the morning period, even over 10000 games. Also if you mostly play a class you are the best with (e.g. dominantly CVs) then you won't have the same number of samples for ships with less WR. I could give you extreme examples, like comparing the WRs of a player with 6000 tier1 games (I've seen such players) to someone with 6000 games dominantly at tiers 8+. The same is true for less extreme cases.

Global WR is influenced by which ship you play frequently (e.g. 1000 games in Kamikaze/Giulio). WR for an individual ship is influenced by when you play it: 1. Just after release, when people don't know how to deal with it (e.g. Smolensk was not focused after the release). 2. Pre or post nerf. 3. In which meta (e.g. BB is better after new cruiser releases, but worse after new DD releases) 4. At which time do you play it, e.g. early afternoon against school kids, or in the evening against better players. 5. At which day do you play it, e.g. against weekend/covid players presenting you broadsides voluntarily, or during a normal period.
  6. There is a built in fire resistance that gets better on higher tiers. Also using fire prevention captain skill and the second module reduces your fire chance. A lot of people on low tiers do not mount any modules, and don't have fire prevention, while it is widespread on high tiers.

    Odin Poll

It took me two games in division. The first was bottom tier, the second was top tier, where we had the top two scores. BTW, I was reminded why I play PEF only on special occasions.

NouZoup tells the truth about reviews

Yes, WG games are a training ground for the real world.
  10. Basically it's an answer to Flamu's recent over hyping/over trashing reviews: Summary: watch it yourself, it worth your time. Started to like this guy.

NouZoup tells the truth about reviews

From my recent memory, he overhyped Petropavlosk, Tallin, Nevsky, dismissed Odin and underestimated Siegfried and Agir. Not all of them are premiums, but the average player have to invest lot of time or resources to get them. He also overhypes Kuznetsov, of which special perk only counts in very few situations, and a complete waste of coal for the majority of the players who could rather get a nice T9 or T10 premium ship.

NouZoup tells the truth about reviews

NoZoup stated that he is also guilty with clickbaits, but he does not want people to spend or not spend money and regret it later because he clickbaited them. Flamu crossed a limit in order to get the 100.000 views. His viewers pay the price by dropping money on ships that they regret later.

    Kirov and Moskva

What you got is not a new ship, but the premium benefits: less service cost, premium camo, and free captain transfer. The latter one is very important because you can use your high point captain on two ships.

why is winrate system a real shame for WG?

I think this is not entirely correct. DDs are certainly a high influence class. Also they are hard to master, so there is threshold below which your have very poor win rate, but after that it gets very high. BBs have a more continuous WR progression. Also CVs as a class have far less influence on the game. The thing is that the CVs are a seldom played (compared to other classes), but with a much higher percentage of unicum players who sticked with the class. So you have a loot of sharks vs average players and it's the high percentage of unicum pilots who make the class more influencing than others. Also, with a BB, you can have high influence and high WR, if you play it correctly. If you have high PR but average WR, then you don't play it correctly, because you are focused on damage and not on winning.

    w

Venezia 44 games, 27,7% WR and I love the ship. Also Ibuki 9 games, 22% WR. I don't think it's about being cursed, it's rather that I played the ships in the wrong way. I stayed too far away from the caps and lost my influence on the game. Also, my play style is to finish off one ship before moving to the next, and these ships are better if used as damage farmers. Double ruddering and getting closer with these ships helps, I think.

    Coal commander or ship

The price for the unique coal commanders is too high, because it was made to deplete the coal reserves of players who get 3 resource containers every day and have all the coal ships already. No way it worth that price for a returning player. I have most of the coal ships and still don't spend coal on captains, except 10000 to finish a collection. Simply a new coal ship is much more fun than a new captain for an existing ship. Also I'd rather buy an 1500 doubloon captain than a 35000 coal one. A T9 coal ship is around 180000 coal, so 5x35000 coal. This ships are sold for 19000 doubloons. So the doubloon price of the captain is much cheaper, and you can also collect doubloons by playing.
  18. Develop at least two lines in parallel. That way to learn much more about the game and won't get bored. The US battleships don't have mobility till Tier 8, they have hard hitting guns with shotgun like dispersion till T8 and good armor. I's not your best pick, because they are slow. German BBs are sturdy, have good mobility and good at closer ranges, but imprecise otherwise. It can be your choice if you're not good at sniping. The Japanese BBs have less armor, good mobility and better guns at long range. It can be your choice if you're good at aiming. The Russian BBs are impossible to take out while they have the nose toward the enemy, but they are very easy to damage from the sides. Also, the guns are OP at close ranges. It can be your choice if you are good at angling, or want to learn angling. The French BBs are quirky, I won''t suggest them for beginners. The British BBs are good with HE, not which is different from other BB lines, so probably not the best line to start with. The German cruisers are sturdy, and have devastating close range torpedos, but they are not at all agile. The Japanese cruisers have good mobility and good cruiser armor, and very precise guns. A good line for beginners. The Russian cruisers have very good guns but clumsy when turning and are glass cannons. Not beginner friendly. I don't know the French cruisers. The British light cruisers have smoke, which is fun but I would not pick them as a beginner. The British heavy cruisers can get big hits but have heal to compensate and are really good fire starters. They are good for beginners. The Italian cruisers have exceptional mobility, but their guns can't damage a lot of ships until they get to T8. I would not take them as a beginner.

    Champagne and California coming soon?

They'll be for cash, right? BTW, I think they are included in the client, so they will be released this patch. That's why you see the soon tag removed. For California, the 4th of July is probable, mand maybe the 14th of July for Champagne. How is Champagne, I don't remember seeing anything on her?

    Ägir Build

I tested Ägir in co-op a bit and found that the turret traverse and the rudder shift are pretty slow. 1. Would you use double rudder on her instead of using the Concealment Mod? 2. Would you use Main Battery Mod 2 (turret traverse +15%) instead of Aiming Systems Modification one (-7% dispersion)?
  21. WG neither put the submarine battles into naval battles nor to the dockyard grind. This curbs the number of players testing it even more.

They yield the same, because the XP bonus counts into the captain's XP, too. The buyable camo gives better freeXP, for the same reasons. The economic bonuses are the same (service cost reduction and silver gain).

The 1,000,000 XP Question - Agir, Azuma, Alaska?

Actually Agir is the Norse god of the Sea, aka the Norse Poseidon: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ægir While Alaska is: From the Aleut aleyska, meaning "the mainland" or literally "the object toward which the action of the sea is directed." "that which breaks against the shore." As for the ships both Alaska and Agir are good choices, get them both. I don't have Azuma as everybody said it wasn't that good. Alaska has radar, hydro, and North Carolina style guns, hard hitting but with floaty arcs, the HE feels lackluster. Agir has fast flat trajectory ultra precise cruiser killer guns, usable HE , German torpedoes, and German hydro. Alaska feels a bit more tanky, but Agir can also take some damage. Personally I prefer Agir.

Jervis does the job well: 9 wins, 1 top of the team loss. This is where I'm today: Plan is to go to rank 6. Maybe on Monday.
