I guess you don't have enough ship variety to pick the easiest tasks. Most of the grind tasks can be done in coop.

I'll explain the sigma in a different way. It gives you a value indicating that from 100 shots, how many will land on the target. It also influences how many citadels you get from broadside shots. So the higher the sigma is, the more pens and citadels you get. The Warhammer ships trade 10% reload for 0.1 increase in sigma. We don't know how much difference 0.1 sigma gives, but I guess it gives you 10% more hits, based on that WG balanced it with 10% nerf on the reload. So on the average, you fire less, but hit more. In case of a sniping ship, better accuracy worth a slower reload, because you will spend more time with target selection and do not fire your guns all the time. That's why people use the Legendary Upgrade on Yamato. With one on one brawling, higher rate of fire is more important. Given that Amagi is rather a sniper than a brawler, the tradeoff for the Warhammer ships probably worth it.

As I understand dispersion defines the target area, and sigma defines how close the shells land to the center. So both of them affect the precision. See more at here: Sigma Gross Oversimplifications Presently, sigma is a buzzword for accuracy -- so much so that some players erroneously attribute it for an exact measure of accuracy; with the higher the better. Unfortunately, in reality its more complicated. In World of Warships terms, sigma describes the scatter of shell distribution within a ship's shot dispersion field. The higher the sigma value, the more likely shells will land towards the center of the field, and inversely, the less likely they are to fly to the extremes of the dispersion area.

What is your biggest purchase regret! (edited)

Hey guys, Atago is still a good and fun ship. I bought it at the end of 2018, was a bit worried about it being power-crept, but no. Three words: concealment, guns, and torps. -
WG i'm curious, what is the 'How satisfied are you…' feedback that pops up after a battle used for?
Ocsimano18 replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
You can do the automatic analysis without the survey, using your past buying history and gameplay data and comparing it to other players. These surveys I quite infrequent, and I don't think they are reliable. I never know how to answer. I think it's rather they want to know which type of battle people enjoy in general. Are they happy to be on the winning side of a roflstomp, or do they prefer nailbiters, even if they lose? -
If you give me matchmaking monitor data for thousands of games, then I can do some math on it. Like checking if your team composition depends on your previous WR, and such stuff.

The ships are in the shop. LWM posted a review on the NA forums. She said they are a bit worse Amagis, because you don't feel the 0.1 sigma increase, but you feel the slower reload. I'm not sure about this, because people are willing to die for the Yamato legendary upgrade that trades reload for precision. Anyway the verdict is to buy them for the looks only, or maybe as a premium Amagi, if you need one.

Guys, I'm not interested in patents. I want to see data. Does anybody has enough data from any matchmaking monitor to prove statistically that anything was rigged?

When I started the game, I bought a few days of premium time here and there. It got me stressed and I played too much beyond my enjoyment to max out the benefits. Since, I buy the discounted one year premium at Christmas, and I'm chilled. I bought a couple of discounted premium ships that I don't regret, as they are all fun. I also bought premium camos for Hakuryu, Yamato, and GK. I play the Haku much less since the introduction of AA DDs, I obtained the HSF camo for Yamato since, and I rarely play the GK. It's nice to have those premium camos, but they are overpriced compared to the benefits. I stopped buying perma camos. Maybe if they would allow to move captains free to ships with perma camos, I'd buy them again. -
Can I have my money back for the Viribus Unutis
Ocsimano18 replied to Ronchabale's topic in General Discussion
I think the OP was trolling/joking after the recent "money back for the Massachusetts" post. The VU is a cult ship. It's weak but likable. It's for expert players looking for distraction, or for anybody who likes funky little ships. Also it's a collector piece for central Europeans. Why is it at tier 5? To allow you to do the dailies and other missions. -
I think we will have the first 4 directives in the current patch.

Completed directive 2 in about 4.5 hours: Using the following strategy: 1. Skip the XP collecting mission for the dockyard level, as it can be completed over time during the next directive. 2. Two random games in Prinz Eitel Friedrich to get the 1100 base XP. 3. One random game in Smolensk to get the 500 main battery hits mission. 4. Incapacitations and torpedo spotting missions done with Agir and Smolensk in coop. 5. Five coop matches with Grosser Kurfurst to make 1650 secondary hits. 6. About ten additional coop matches to finish in the top 3, 12 times in total. 7. 30 aircraft were shot down automatically early in the grind. So about 1h in random and 3.5h in coop, including time spent in port. -
[PÖLL] Do you think 2M FXP is a reasonable price for (T10) ships.
Ocsimano18 replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
I have bought the Jean-Bart, the Georgia, the Thunderer, the Smolensk, the October Rev, the T4 Japanese cruiser, and will get the Marceau next week. For FreeXP, I had the Musashi (thanks to the CV rework giving me a lot for my odd tier CVs), the Alaska, the Nelson and now the Agir. So for coal: 3 T10, 2 T9, 1 T5, 1 T4 For FreeXP: 0 T10, 3 T9, 1 T7 I also freeXP-ed the entire Moskva line, it's being my cheapest T10 FXP ship, and skipped/reduced the grind for Yamato/GK/Venezia. I also note that I converted 8000 steel to coal, as I'm not sure to be around in the next 2-3 years to get my first steel ship. -

Ocsimano18 replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
I'm ok with giving goals to all kind of players, but there are too much expensive stuff out there scaled for the veterans. This is frustrating to newcomers and to players like me, who are regulars for more than two years. I'm ok with research bureau ships, even with the balanced UU modules being there. Also, the steel camos and fluff like that are ok. But the freeXP ships and the 175k coal commanders should be more accessible. -
Manipulation of RNG exist in the game. It's called sigma. Low sigma means high RNG, high sigma means low RNG. Loot boxes are also manipulated. You're much more likely to get a low tier ship than a high tier ship out of them. Why would WG introduce another hidden mechanics when these are already in the game?

I have 10-20 of each dragon flags, haven't bought any but grinding even the test server missions to get them and using them only with 100% or 200% first win bonus to maximize the benefits. Since the Alaska, I bought Agir only (thanks to the 200% bonus golden week), and spent around 1000,000 FreeXP on tech tree lines. I play almost every day, but only 1-2 hours, and a bit more on the weekend. This price of 2000,000 FreeXP is about 8 months grind for me which does not worth it for a T10 DD. -
Has Wargaming given up with even attempting to balance the game? (part 1?)

I wonder if the new German T8/T10 CVs in the next two patches will be low skill floor.- 106 replies

Ocsimano18 replied to Srgt_Misfire's topic in General Discussion
Basically the deal was to move away CV from alpha damage to DoT to make it a more forgiving class, and similarly weaken the AA, as high AA would deplete the planes much earlier and would make the average player more frustrated while playing the class, leaving only super unicum CVs, and would actually increase the skill gap. Now with the high AA DDs introduced, the skill floor was moved higher so the skill gap increases further, worsening of the perception of CVs even more. As for the PR dockyard event, it was the low point of WG, and it got much improved with the new dockyard event. So they actually learned some lessons, and the complaints of the community were listened to. I'm not saying that it's an ideal world, but not at all the hell as some of you might perceive it. Also, we live in an over hyped world, as people make money out of drama to increase viewer numbers, thus they reinforce negative perceptions.- 106 replies

The steel camo is nice to look at, but in a battle you won't see it from a good angle, so it's rather for the other players, and their unseen feelings bring little enjoyment for you. Even if you're hopelessly away from a steel ship, you can still use the steel to get a coal ship. I did that with about 8000 steel, and I was happy with my choice. 10000 steel is more than the 50% price of a T9 coal ship. I made a calculation earlier and converted everything to equivalent doubloon prices. The steel camo is three times overpriced compared to a regular tier ten camo. Just does not worth it.

Can I have my money back for the Massachuset?
Ocsimano18 replied to Spearhawk1969's topic in General Discussion
It's not the Massachusetts, it's the skill gap at tier8 that makes you have a low winrate. I was in a similar situation, having a T9 RTS CV, and a T7BB, I bought the Tirpitz. I was quite happy with the ship, but my WR was around 35%, and it took about 100 matches to get it growing. The biggest skill gap in the game is between T7 and T8. The other big gap is between T9 and T10. As others suggested, your build is not optimal, you need the manual secondaries skill to have more accuracy. If you get double fires often, then you're pushing into focus fire. Take out a few red ship first with your guns, before starting to push. Furthermore, play very cautiosly when you get into T10 matches. Also your PR is low, indicating that you don't make much damage, so you probably need to improve your aiming. BTW, the Massachusetts has floaty shell arcs, so you have to give more lead than with other ships. And yes, it's the best T8 BB with Lenin, but it's much more fun than Lenin. You can't get your money back having played a game in it. -
why is winrate system a real shame for WG?

I don't know this reference. Anyway, I don't want to convert you, you are free to believe in anything you want. I presented you an alternative explanation to show you that your conclusion is not the only possible one. -

If you understand algorithms a bit, you can see that it was a clunky and unrealistic system. They made a patent of it because someonen needed to prove that he made an innovation, maybe for a degree.
