Same for me. The short range has the advantage of going dark much faster when you disengage, and your speed allows for a rapid disengagement.

Picked it up a few days ago. Lots of fun every match, but I don't have the Kleber, so I cannot compare. I was paired up with a super unicum supertester playing cat and mouse with the Roosvelt, it was fun to outrun the torpedoos. The AA needs some tricks, like turning it on the instant when you get spotted. Also, turn on deff AA first, then activate the sector to maximize the instantaneous damage. And mount the coal speed duration module in slot2.

I was shooting it with my Massachusetts several times, causing barely any damage. I melt Tirpitz and Bismarck.

Odin is good, grind it. Don't listen to the negative hype movement, you'll regret it later.

Coordinated boycott of CB from EU and NA clans
Ocsimano18 replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
My issue is that WG wants to solve this using brute force, like nerfing Venezia. They should put more effort and a bit of creativity into this. The point system in the last NA tournament was very good IMHO, but WG can come up with their own equally good approach. -
People will tell you that Champagne, a T8 BB is too squishy for a secondary build. The same people are also pissed off that the T9 Agir's secondaries were nerfed. So NO for a secondary BB build at T8, but YES for a secondary cruiser at T9. Understood? (Honestly, I don't). But seriously, you'd need to invest 12 points (IFHE, Man Sec, AFT) to make it work. You'd be probably better off with a concealment build, but it's up to you to fine tune the fun/efficiency factor to your personal liking.

I've checked your ships. You should not play the Kagero, it's a difficult ship in the current CV heavy meta and not strong against other DDs. Try to play your Tirpitz and NC instead. Especially try out the NC, it has the best BB guns on this tier. Tirpitz is more fun in randoms, but NC can be better in ranked. I would only change NC for a Massachusetts. Also, in general try out more ships and stick to the one which gives you the best WR in this ranked format, except if you're a bored super unicum player.

only getting in to pure tier x matches with tier x
Ocsimano18 replied to anonym_Q28oK2IubRbe's topic in General Discussion
I tend to get into pure T10 matches, most of the time. I think it also depends on the time of the day and if there is some other event ongoing drawing the T10 crowd away. But in general, it's pure T10. It would be fun to stomp on the lower tier guys, but I prefer this matchmaking giving a breath to T8/T9 ships. -
Venezia nerfed, Hakuryu nerfed. I see no point in putting any monetary (buying a perma camo, nice joke) or playtime effort into grinding tech-tree lines anymore. At least premiums are a bit more safe from nerfs.

Ship ranks (no cv meta) (stolen from Warship Masters tourny)
Ocsimano18 replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
The points should be mathematically adjusted based on the ships' past WR in tournaments of similar format. As this was the first tournament, it was ok to set them manually. -
On a tier 8 ship, yes. It ends up same tier/top tier matches most of the time, when you can get close. For a T9/T10 ship, the secondaries are mostly a gimmick.

You can change fire prevention into IFHE. Tirpitz is non stationary and catches fire less, except if you're focused, a situation you should avoid. Fire prevention is good on clumsy T10 tanks, like Kremlin or GK.
-
Adreraline rush is better than expert marksman or Tirpitz, the turret traverse is fast enough, and AR boosts even the secondary reload.

She theorized on pen values. I guess in practice it works more complicated than that. I am all about theories myself, but wanted to test it when I had a free captain respec. It's 4 point after all, so I have to be sure. I usually have more than two times as much secondary damage since.
-
Secondaries were turned on around 9km and I moved closed on to 6km and stopped there. Vlad was with slightly angled bow towards me.
-
This is all theory, go into the training room and try it yourself. I was sceptical, too, but it works.

Most cursed ship I think I've ever had...
Ocsimano18 replied to DrMechano's topic in General Discussion
Venezia, 28.89% WR, I started to improve recently, just before the nerf was announced... -
I did a test in the training room after the IFHE rework using a Vladivostok as a target. With IFHE you have much more secondary damage but less fires. I don't remember the details but it went down a bit faster with the IFHE, and bots have no fire prevention and immediately use the damage control. So it does worth it. I use it onTirpitz, it's also good against cruisers, like the Hipper.

If the Venezia nerfs are not bad, then it will be still the best ship in the broken 1CV 6CA Clan Wars meta, and will be nerfed to the ground next time. These community initiated nerfs are the worse, as WG just tries to please the crowd. Kremlin is OP if it can get close, which is barely possible in the current meta. It's inferior to Yamato at distance. Nerfing the AA had a significant effect in CV matches, as now it's considered an easy target. Basically Kremlin was the answer to the community complaining about the HE spam. They created a ship that can endure more spamming and can be used for brawling. The community disliked it because it was Russian. WG has Russian bias for sure, but the community has an anti Russian bias. We are just people with similar biases after all.
-
That's why I won't buy here anything. They can nerf anything after six month just to make you to buy the newest ship. I'm not interested in short term leases.
-
The issue is that when the premium nerfs get through then WG will make a habit of it. They will nerf old premiums to make you buy the newest one, similarly to tech tree ships. That's why I'm not spending more on the game if it gets through. I have neither the GZ, nor the Enterprise.
-
It's the rudder shift and SAP angle nerf which kills the ship. The 0.5s reload nerf is just the final humiliation suggesting "there will be more if you dare to move".
-
And Slava will see no nerfs for a year and then maybe some slight AA nerfs.
