OKTYABRSKAYA REVOLUTSIYA in the shop & mission
Cosseria replied to SteDorff's topic in General Discussion
Nah, I'll just save money for some higher tier premium later on. I foresee a Stalingrad class BC at T 8 with 90.000 HP, 60 seconds DCP, 8 km detectability, 35 kts speed, 7 seconds rudder shift and 560 mts turning radius, 1.5 sigma, 32 kms range, 20 secs reload, AA rating 102, 10 x 10 kms 70 kts 20.000 dmg torps, German AP, British HE, radar, sonar, smoke screen, catapult fighter and spotter. Special "Hero of the Soviet Union" camo with +300% XP, free XP and credits. May be pricey but worth it. -
Before you fire a salvo, kneel down, close your eyes, clap your hands twice and raise a prayer to Houjutsu-Kami, the Japanese god of gunnery (the Shinto equivalent of our RNJesus).
-
Just enter battle and go AFK, then send another ship into battle, go AFK and so on. Statistically, some teams will be good enough to carry the AFKers to victory, and they only need 2 wins anyway.
-
May it be related to the oil mission? It only asks to win 2 battles in random, irrespective of actual contribution.
-
If you fired on your allies on your previous battles, once you reach a dmg threshold the TK system reflects the dmg back on your ship.
-
If your ship blew up, it means you're recurringly dealing damage to allies. You may want to improve your firing discipline.

What the hell is a "BBaby" and why is it so popular ?!
Cosseria replied to Lieutenant_Hubert_Gruber's topic in General Discussion
The BBaby (Homus Tuberosum) is an invasive species and the single most damaging factor to the game balance and enjoyability. It infested the Wows ecosystem beginning in Open Beta. It nests in map borders and adopts an opportunistic behavior, only feeding on stranded or injured preys. Its communication is either a furious snarling or a whine. While it seldom barks in the forum, it strongly howls during WG polls. WG says it's adopting measures to cull the BBabies, but the culling has been half-hearted and mostly ineffective so far. -
See if you can spot the difference in the aproach of WG when designing a CL and a BB ......
Cosseria replied to havaduck's topic in General Discussion
Hint: Giulio Cesare may one day be part of the Russian BB tree, or a Russian premium. -
The very first salvo my Tirpitz fired, it detonated a Benson. Also, sinking a Gearing camping in smoke with Tirpitz torps. A 6 kills game with the old Fubuki, and my 7 kills record on Kuma.

I just hope they'll release her with the Claudius camo. There's no reason to go for the 1943 scheme, the Claudius just looks so much better.

Wow, I really can't wait to get this one!! A Measure 22 camouflage, really the most dazzling and visually appealing of all the 33-some Measures devised by the Navy! Yo-hoo!! It will totally look awesome!!! Like a blue brick with some grey mortar on it!!! Can't wait to slap it into the middle of my port to make even the Krasny Krim look glamorous!!!

A whole bunch of new skills. Like that IFHE that's gonna be nerfed to the ground very soon?

Operation Raptor Rescue - One Tough Cookie
Cosseria replied to Procrastes's topic in General Discussion
Achieving a 50% WR in this one as of this evening. The brightest moment was being called a "sh[tty Cleveland" because I didn't went for the CV at the South Pole, as there was nobody left to protect the Raptor from the DDs. Gotta love those GrossAdmirals who play stock Iron Dukes, achieve nothing and blame those with actually useful ships for not being everywhere at once. -
No, USS Iowa, while carrying FDR to Casablanca. The culprit was USS William D. Porter, on a simulated torpedo run someone on the torpedo tubes was overconfident(tm) and fired a live one. Confusion ensued as the DD tried to warn Iowa about the torp, first by blinking light, then by plain radio. Iowa actually aimed its guns on the DD just in case it was a plot to kill the President. The torp finally passed astern and exploded in Iowa's wake. Willie Dee went on with a TK career, first by landing an inert 5" round into a Naval HQ plot, then downing several US planes while shooting at the Japs, and finally raking USS Luce with machine-gun fire.
-
Just don't ask for too harsh punishments, if things like bans or forced tutorials were actually introduced, people would begin to seek for friendly torps to run into, blocking fields of fire and such, just to harm others. I would be fine with the TK having to pay for his victim's repairs, plus a forfeitary free XP refund to compensate for the lost XP.

The reason why BBs hug the map border
Cosseria replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
But if battleships don't push in the first place, CAs won't either, and DDs die alone usupported. Story as old as the game itself. -
Of course, nothing has changed. Cleveland multiple nerfs, Mogami nerfs, CVs nerfs, Japanese DDs mass murder, invisifire nerfs, introduction of RPF, radar (last two anti-DD nerfs but benefiting BBs as well) and BBs with hydro, soon BBs with radar, it's all too clear WG has done nothing to shift the game balance.
-
Well, I could argue that it wasn't me or the players like me who turned a promising game into an unbalanced mess by force of relentless whining (ever heard about the "BB bingo"?), but that would be like seeking that "moral high ground" you're talking about. The point I'm stressing is not that I hold the average BB main in very low regard, it's rather that a T 6 cruiser in a BB heavy meta is in a very bad spot, and that's a fact. The Duca doesn't have Leander's tricks to survive, is as long and big as a carrier, has low DPM and poor detectability. I advise anyone not to purchase it unless it's been somehow buffed or the BB population has been culled.
-
Maybe it's just a reaction to the irrational hatred of CVs, the irrational hatred of DDs, the irrational hatred of CAs felt by many BB mains, which honestly is a very childlike mentality.
-
So WG, let's discuss the changes in the game and your plan.
Cosseria replied to C4PT41N_0BV10US's topic in General Discussion
I personally think the best solution is the limit to 3 BBs + the Jutland mode. Allow max 3 BBs per side in battles with other classes involved, and drop the rest in BB only slugfests. Anyway I'm pessimistic about WG actually doing something about this. WG can't displease its main source of income, altough I'm curious about the real number of those BB-only big spenders. -
Why would anyone want to buy a Duca? Its only role in the game is to feed the fat kids playing T8 BBs.
-
You know it's a risky solution. Somewhere in one of Europe's poorest countries, there must be a lone part-time underpaid employee handling refund requests on a Windows 95 PC with a Modem connection. If more than ten players actually did this, the whole refund system could crash and you may end up with 50 bucks worth of worthless port decoration.
-
My problem is not with ships, altough I'm tired with the BB regime and the weak attempts at culling the BB numbers. The game could be much more enjoyable if the average player wasn't so clueless. There's a very big issue concerning gameplay quality and not the slightest clue of WG planning to adress this. I've reverted to play Co-Ops and Operations only, and even after a whole seasons of Ops there are still people able to drag you to a defeat in Aegis.
-
I generally appreciate the effort WG puts into historical camos (apart from Duca's, whose colors are inaccurate) but most of the others look either totally crazy (restless fire, stars & stripes) or plain shabby (Dunkerque's black and flag, Ocean soul).
-
Lol, that's really hilarious. What will be the point of IFHE once that residual fire chance is gone? An option to be able to choose between AP rounds and a crappy sort of AP that might set a fire once every three hundred hits? That's world of whining BBabies at its mightiest.
